Watching it’s hard not to miss Chadwick Boseman, but with the amazing performances from Letita Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke and Angela Bassett Chadwick would be proud. Also, with newcomers Tenoch Huerta (Namor) and Dominique Thorne (Ironheart) both bringing new energy to an already stellar cast. With the death of T’Challa Wakanda is without a protector showing to world that Wakanda might just be defenseless which would be proven wrong otherwise. Thanks to the would-be powers of the world provoking Wakanda for their Vibranium it also brings into conflict Talokan the home of Namor and his people to also processing a Vibranium source of their own. Wakanda Forever gives us action, drama, story and expands on the ever-growing universe that is the MCU. Expand

Aun teniendo todo para salir mal me pareció muy buena la película, de lo mejor de la fase 4, fotografía impecable, aún así siento que el material promocional le jugo en contra al prácticamente darnos a conocer cual sería el climax de la cinta.

It is really sad for the thirtieth instalment in Marvel Cinematic Universe and direct sequel to 2018’s Black Panther not to feature Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther because he passed away two years ago. With the character not recast out of respect, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever features Shuri as the leading character for the final movie of Phase 4.

King T’Challa/Black Panther of Wakanda passed away from an illness while his sister, Shuri (Wright), attempts to recreate the heart-shaped herb which was destroyed by N’Jadaka/Erik “Killmonger” Stevens years ago. His death saddens the people of Wakanda including his family. One year later, T’Challa’s mother, Ramonda, have taken over as the Queen of Wakanda and she is currently facing pressure from other nations wanting the country to share the vibranium with them. Shuri have also stop recreating the heart-shaped herb because she believe that the Black Panther is ancient artifact of the past and trying to move on with her life.

Meanwhile, a mysterious blue-skinned and water-breathing humans led by King Namor (Mejía) of Talokan attack the CIA and Navy SEALs in Atlantic Ocean where they are using a vibranium-detecting machine to locate vibranium. Namor visits Queen Ramonda and Shuri in Wakanda where he told them that when T’Challa revealed to the world about vibranium, his country which is an underwater nation is now being threatened by the machine since not only Talokan has vibranium, the nation have been living in secrecy for a long time. He urge them to track down the one who made the machine and bring that person to him or else he will declare war on Wakanda. With the help of CIA agent, Everett Ross, Shuri and Okeye track down Riri Williams (Thorne), an MIT student who made the machine. Shuri now has to make a choice whether to hand over Riri to Namor or risk going to war.

While it is sad that Chadwick Boseman’s character is not getting a recast, the movie still manage to work around on his legacy. Instead of focusing too much on his legacy, the plot of the movie opt to explores more of the lore on Wakanda, Talokan and other characters relating to Black Panther. The movie really made it very interesting to the point that is not really boring after all. Bringing in Namor for this movie is really great because of the character’s complicated movie and distribution rights. Thumbs up to Marvel Studios for that hard work to bring him to the big screen.

Ryan Coogler does a great job in directing this movie just like how he have done in the previous movie. As the cast, they really gave an awesome performance especially Letitia Wright and Tenoch Huerta Mejía. Letitia really does an impressive performance on being a lead character while Tenoch does a great job on being an anti-hero character. If Chadwick Boseman is here, you will give an awesome performance as the title character. I’m sure he is very proud of the cast from the afterlife.

The visual effects in this movie really improved a lot from the previous movie especially the underwater scenes. Marvel Studios really did take note from 2018’s Aquaman despite the movie being their distinguished competitor. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a great sequel and a heartwarming tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Whether it is better than the first movie or the other way around is up for debate. You really do not want to miss this movie. There is no post-credits scene but do stay for mid-credits scene because this one is a very heartwarming moment.

YIBAMBE! YIBAMBE!

Welcome back Streamers. The long awaited Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has finally hit the theaters. Chadwick may not be with us but he’ll never be forgotten. Let’s jump into it!

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a spectacle. High flying action sequences, underwater sequences, pounding music, costumes and set design galore, WHALES! I mean, what isn’t in this movie. The movie features a diversity of almost everything to the likes that Marvel really hasn’t explored before, but as the TV shows pile up and Wakanda is revisited, Disney is getting the hang of it. We have storylines and themes that speak to the new generations coming into their own: allowing your culture to be a part of who you are but not all of who you are; the divide between technology and tradition don’t have to be polar opposites; it’s ok to be young black and gifted, etc. Ryan Coogler, Joe Robert Cole and crew really put thought into this movie.

WITH THAT SAID, I feel like this movie’s storyline was a bit rushed, and the attention to detail and thought put into the first Black Panther is far superior to this sequel. The movie felt a bit more business than culture this time around. Maybe that’s because the movie takes its time to honor our fallen Panther, Chadwick Boseman, but a larger part of it is that Disney has this Marvel franchise of a giant Phase wheel. It would be interesting to find out how this movie would’ve gone if Marvel waited a couple more years to produce this film and actually recast T’Challa. I think the decision to not recast will play a huge role in the success of the MCU storylines to come. But enough about that.

Since Wakanda Forever is missing its anchor in Boseman’s T’Challa, the remainder of the cast has to step up to give this movie life. Each cast member delivers the goods. The Queen, Angela Bassett, is commanding as Ramonda. Her family has been devastated, but her confidence and regal nature has not suffered one bit. Bassett has the gravitas to play a queen, but she never feels out of place in this action epic. Also, a lot falls on the shoulders of Letitia Wright. Shuri was the smart, wisecracking baby sister of T’Challa in the first movie, but now, she’s had to mature because of the tragedy that her family and people have suffered. Wright brings that grief and resilience to screen. It is true that she doesn’t have the magnetism that Boseman had, but she does very well to fill those big shoes. Then, Danai Gurira and Winston Duke add spice to their scenes and bring humor and lightness to what could have been a very heavy movie. Also, Tenoch Huerta brings the villain to life. There is a very cool design to Namor and he’s a formidable guy.

Finally, I have to specifically highlight the costumes by Ruth E. Carter. She won an Oscar for designing the costumes in Black Panther. She designed some fantastic costumes in Wakanda Forever. The funeral scenes are transcendent because of the vibrant costumes on display. The overall design of the movie is really remarkable and helps to bring the whole story to life, both in Wakanda and the underwater world of Talokan.

Long movie short, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a classic Marvel superhero movie with an elegant tribute to our fallen panther, Chadwick Boseman. Wakanda Forever brings hard-hitting action, technology, cool costumes, and culture to the big screen. It’s great to see diversity of different types expanding in the Marvel and Disney family. Other than the movie being super long but normal for Marvel movies, the rest of the movie is enjoyable and normal to watch. Grab a big box of fresh popcorn and enjoy this spectacle of a movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It wasn't all that I was hoping for but its not a bad film. Namor wasn't bad but I was hoping for a more comic accurate version of him. I never understood Shuri's hate attitude for the world but I understand they had to relate her to Killmonger for their Astral plane meetup to make sense. I will hold a negative point to this movie since they removed a Dr. Doom tie in. Whether it was going to be a on-screen debut or a name drop, I really wanted to see his path start like how they did with Thanos in Avengers, since Dr. Doom in the comics raids Wakanda for Vibranium for his suit. Chadwick Boseman is undeniably missed, but 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' still manages to produce an entertaining and even touching final chapter of the MCU's Phase Four.

I had a positive time with this, one good thing about watching it almost two months after release is that I got to watch this in an empty cinema - absolute bliss. Thankfully I managed to avoid all spoilers, though had heard the name Namor bandied about online so that's all I knew coming into it.

Speaking of Namor, I'm a fan. He makes for a cool new character to the universe, as does Talokan as a whole, with Tenoch Huerta a welcomed addition to the cast - first time I recall seeing him in something, and I'm impressed. The star of this 2022 flick, however, is Letitia Wright. I don't really remember her standing out in the original much, at least to me, but here Wright is excellent.

Angela Bassett is very good also, there's one emotion-filled speech scene in particular that stands out in my memory. Danai Gurira is always a joy to watch, while Winston Duke and Lupita Nyong'o are the best of the rest - though, the whole cast are good; even Martin Freeman, who I'm not always convinced by.

The film handles Boseman's absence nicely, there are some very touching moments in there. I'd say they went the correct way with the character of T'Challa, no-one would've been able to even closely replicate Boseman. The music, meanwhile, is pleasant.

I do think this has some relatively minor pacing issues, mainly around the midway point, but other than that I felt more than satisified with what I had just watched when leaving the cinema. Phase Five, see you soon!

And the best Marvel movie since Endgame.

The music is very Good. the movie avoids the excess of « tribal scenes » that were so cliché in the first one.

It avoids also the excess of « action/battle scenes » to focus on the characters and their motivations/inner battle…

A very good Marvel.

It would take too long to talk about everything since there was so much going on in this film, so I’ll keep this brief. Tenoch Huerta was great as Namor and did an excellent job introducing this character to the MCU. Angela Bassett was a standout! Every scene she was in was full of emotion and power. And of course, Letitia Wright handled all of Shuri’s trials, tribulations and character development amazingly. All of the fight scenes were a blast to watch, but my favorite fight was Okoye's vs Attuma

All that said, the movie maybe felt a bit TOO long and some of the scenes could have been tightened up a bit, namely all the CIA scenes, they just kind of dragged on a bit for my taste. If you were a fan of the first “Black Panther” movie, you’ll love this sequel.

It's Different than the old one, but its Amazing!

Since the 1st time release of Black Panther, the Black Panther world has never been disappointing! Full of surprises. I didn't expect anything but this new movie was Amazing!

Sadly, the death of Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther Actor) followed by the death of his char which is happening in this movie. This is dedicated to him. Let him Rest In Peace. Then, the story begins, sorry no spoiler.

Visually, I really love this movie because the Wakanda world is very rich in culture & modern tech. BUT, there is greater visual than Wakanda World! A new world! Sorry, no spoiler. Besides, their people and world give us goosebumps sensations such as we live in an ethnic tribe. Their costume, rituals, and voices are unique which I love it!

More satisfaction comes from their music and new story plot. This is unexpected for normal moviegoers like me (not a Marvel geek). Since the movie started, I keep wondering about what is gonna happen and how it's gonna end in this movie. Lastly, my current fav's rock song is well-delivered in this movie, lol. They launched a new album this year, sorry tidbits.

However, this movie is too long, almost 3 hrs. Looks like Marvel has a new tendency to create long movies since Avengers Trilogy. But, it is no prob, I already dealt with it with took caffeine intake before the cinema!

Long story short, don't miss it! Great superhero movie and everything is amazing! Moral values? Proper and not too much. There are also 2 mid-credit scenes on the beach which implied that the black panther would return.

8/10.

I was disappointed. This film places it safe so safe that the plot itself dissolves, and the actions and scenes in the movie render itself pointless. You can skip this film entirely and not have missed anything at all.

Ratings forever,
Story and Plot: 6/10
Characters: 5/10
VFX and CGI: 6/10

Yeah, 6/10 overall, this is not a good film, nor is it bad, if some plot points and risks were fixed and used effectively this would have been good but none of that is here.
I personally do not want to see a Black Panther Film unless it has actual tension, and purpose behind it. And No the Death of Chadwick Boseman does not serve a purpose - May he Rest in Peace.

Disney and Marvel need to step it up, this story could have been insanely better, the purpose was to do better than the first movie and everyone behind the making of this film (narrative speaking) has failed, sadly.

Sequels are incredibly hard to do, but by today's standards, it should have been a walk in the park.

*Adjusted score from 6/10 to 5/10 after watching Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

But,I saw it again because I just couldn't shake the feeling I will like it the second time. I saw it again last weekend and I really like it now. I don't love it though. I just couldn't latch on to Namor's character the first time around and I thought once something happens to Shuri, the film really dragged. I came to appreciate Namor the second time around and even though I thought his backstory was meh, I was on board with the Talokan people. I thought the opening and closing acts were terrific, with some great actions sequences. I thought Shuri's character arc is what saves this movie and whenever she was on screen, I was really invested. While Riri Williams is a great addition to the MCU and is performed wonderfully by Dominique Thorne, she bogged down the plot. If everything was focused just on Shuri and Namor, I thought this movie would have been exemplary. Chadwick Boseman's death is handled remarkably well and respectfully. His opening funeral scene is so touching and heartfelt. Expand

I never write reviews for movies, however I’m willing to break that streak in order to rage about this movie.

Going into the theater, my expectations were very low. I haven’t been a big fan of Marvel’s latest content, and I didn’t even watch any trailers for Wakanda Forever beforehand. But I can say, that at the time of writing this review I’ve already seen it twice on opening weekend and I LOVED each showing!

I’ve heard a lot of mixed opinions about this film, and it makes me a bit sad because I actually really enjoyed it.

First of all, I want to give props to the cast and crew for completing such a masterpiece under the most dire circumstances. I’m a filmmaker myself, and it’s truly one of the most difficult and emotionally taxing professions out there. But the team that worked on for “Wakanda Forever” nailed it in so many ways. I could feel the love on screen, and the passion they have for this story.

Without giving out spoilers, I want to address the elephant in the room… that is; the fact all of the side characters from the first black panther film are now the main characters in the sequel. Pulling this off must’ve been an incredibly difficult feat for the producers, but I think they succeeded.

The talk of the town is obviously Shuri. Wether you enjoyed her character in the previous films or not, I think she made a fantastic protagonist. Don’t get me wrong, I was skeptical, especially since she was mainly the comic relief in the first film… but, in this film she had every quality a protagonist should have, but she was still flawed. Also the way they portrayed her grief was very accurate. They really showed how grief changes a person, and the loss of her brother really causes her personality to shift; thus, making her the perfect character to center the story around.

I won’t get into too many details, but act 3 nailed it for me. The emotions were high, and I love the way they piled on the trouble for our new protagonist. The post credits scene also had me in tears.

All in all, Wakanda Forever is not my favorite Marvel film, but it’s my best one I’ve seen in years. I will watch this film over and over again without tiring of it, because in my opinion it’s the best film in phase 4 of the MCU.

The question of “is the sequel better than the first?” shouldn’t even apply. Both Black Panther films are vastly different, and I like them both for different reasons. I think it’s unfair to compare the two, considering the fact that the main actor passed away and the story had to shift without choice. But, this film pays a beautiful tribute to him, and I enjoyed every second of it.

Overall, I hope y’all give this movie a chance. Yes, it has its flaws, but there are more positives than negatives. Please don’t let someone else’s opinion become yours before watching the movie. I’ve seen a lot of people hating on this film, and I don’t understand why. It was great. Not perfect. But great. I think the talented filmmakers behind this movie did an excellent job crafting a meaningful story about loss and family, and managed to make it fun and entertaining, whilst still being grounded in the moral values that made me fall in love with these characters in the first place.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Black Panther 2 was a great movie to see in the theaters. The action scenes and overall story was compelling and worth watching. I did feel that the movie didn’t need to be as long as it was. They could have cut it down. They also didn’t need multiple funeral scenes. Just pick one and then after others death find someway to portray death and grief without another funeral scene. Don’t waste our time marvel. You can tell a great story in 2 hours not almost 3. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It wasn't as good as the first one. It's pretty on par with Iron Man 2 (overstuffed) but I liked IM2 more than most. A few notes..

The Namor change is fine and kind of make sense however, I think they could have better explained how they became the Talokanil and how he's a mutant.

You're gonna tell me that a skinny Shuri with no real combat training whatsoever can beat a warrior Namor who might be "as strong as the Hulk"?

Also, they kind of just threw in Ironheart in here as she plays no integral part to the story. It could have been any random scientist that made the vibranium machine.

I think they should have waited longer to do the sequel or they just should have recast T'challa. He was too important of a character to kill off in the MCU. The franchise could have been so much more.

A very well-written plot, full of spannung till the very end of the movie.
Not only that but the VFX were carefully designed (a remarkable improvement if compared to other MCU movies of the past two years).
The chosen locations for the movie are another important aspect to talk about; there is a noticeable variety which can be observed from scene to scene.
Lastly, the acting was very convincing: the spectator could properly feel the pain for the loss of the previous Black Panther and the struggle to move on from the tragedy of this death. In conclusion: a must watch movie which does keep up with the previous Black Panther and sets a course of action which will bring a remarkable quantity of surprise in the MCU.

One is how they can tribute the film to Chadwick, and the other somehow continuing the storyline to make an interesting enough film. While I did enjoy just watching the film it and the acting in certain scenes, it quite simply didn't make sense (Wakanda world). The obvious narrative of what Disney has been trying to push and how they can exploit a particular audience is becoming quite clear and I am certain some are getting quite tired of it. Emotional scenes resonated, and this film didn't suffer from the undercutting of scenes with jokes to the same extent that many marvel films fall victim to. I enjoyed the characters with the exception of the two mains, Shuri and Namor. While Letitia Wright's performance as Shuri was great, I had issues with her characters journey. Namor I felt was quite bland and overly unreasonable to an extent. The plot was thin and uninteresting. While each scene feels necessary to the story they end up telling, the movie felt quite longwinded, even allowing for the slowness brought about by the grieving of the characters. The movie also fails to acknowledge the events on Earth in the MCU, for example the celestial that has sprouted from the ocean (which could have had vibranium on it, sparking a search for vibranium outside wakanda near the celestial body, therefore disrupting Talokan, who is already on edge due to the celestial in the ocean). Also arm wrestle was bad. I enjoyed the dialogue. Standard MCU for the most part, which i generally enjoy, with some standout scenes that really drove home the current emotional states of the characters ("Have I not given everything?"). The soundtrack is made up of songs that I enjoy listening to outside of the context of the movie, and I felt did well to accentuate the scenes in which they were placed. Outside of some iffy CGI in a few places, mainly the Super Suits, the film was shot well, with a good use of camera angles and choreography. Overall I enjoyed the movie. It needed to be shorter and the plot needed to be changed, but the tribute to the death of the Black Panther was beautiful, and I'm glad i was able to experience it in the cinema. Expand

Following the death of T'Challa, Wakanda is under pressure from other nations to share their vibranium, with some parties even attempting to steal it by force. Meanwhile a new foe emerges from beneath the ocean.

There was a time when I’d rush out to the cinema to see any new addition to the MCU, but that’s just not the case any more. Following the events of Endgame, I’ve found most of these movies a little bit dull (Spiderman: No Way Home being the only exception), and there just doesn’t seem to be any overarching narrative to keep things interesting. Whilst it’s far from terrible, Wakanda Forever can certainly be added to the list of disappointing MCU movies that essentially follows the same formula as all those that proceeded it. At this point Disney need a big shake up if we’re even going to get close to the heights of earlier movies.

Even though it tried to present itself as a tribute to late Chadwick Boseman, it lacked real or deep emotions and seem to scratched the surface in any ways possible.
Super basic comics book plot, the screenplay was just a mess, nothing original or interesting with some pointless choices or unneeded/unexplained scenes.
The characters lacked actual characters, meaning or stories and for some reason the Talokans looked exactly like Na'vis.
The handful of fight scenes were just boring and chaotic.
The cultural elements that made the first film stand out were also missing a lot.
All in all, it was a major disappointment compared to the first film, most of the MCU films and to Chadwick's legacy. It lacked everything the original had and resulted in a way too long and way too boring piece of work.

On a positive note, Danai Gurira and Angela Basset deserve all the praise. Their acting was brilliant.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The whole time that I watched Wakanda Forever, I kept thinking “ambitious” is the word we use to describe movies we like that don’t have the discipline to tell its story. Black Panther has all the good will in the world–a talented director, a loyal fan base without a vicelike grip of orthodoxy on the direction the franchise needs to move, a powerhouse of an ensemble cast, a soundtrack that continues to set it apart from the rest of the MCU–and yet Wakanda Forever lacks the sharp criticism of the first film, suffers from sequel bloat–perpetually honoring its fallen hero, Chadwick Boseman, even as it teases Ironheart for no obvious reasons, stuck in a revolving door of grief for big names exiting and new faces entering the franchise simultaneously. Spoilers ahead.

The plot appears to be based on a popular children’s allegory for the Trump era known as the Fate of Fausto. Shuri, grieving from the loss of her family, leads the entirety of her country’s army into the ocean in order to fight merpeople before noticing that she’s chosen some… disadvantageous territory to fight on. More than one person I’ve talked to has pointed out that there are some silly, reductive racial aspects to the to the match up between two powerful minority-majority nations fighting against one another, and that all appears to be added to the film adaptation by Coogler himself, because it’s missing from the children’s book, which, again, I heartily recommend against the advice of Wife.

What makes Black Panther work so well haunts Wakanda Forever at every corner, exposing what’s missing and throwing into stark relief the ways in which Wakanda Forever’s story feels thinner and less developed.

The cameo during the Dreamwalking sequence is excellent. As a choice, in the absence of Shuri being able to reconnect with her brother or recently deceased mother, this is a surprising and rewarding choice. Some of the best storylines in MCU have been when heroes touch the darkness, as Rings of Power might put it. When for a sustained period they are allowed to experience emotions that are regularly reserved for villains. Shuri’s rage is alluded to early in the film during the anniversary of her mourning when she tells her mother that she cannot think about her brother’s death without wanting to burning the world down. But part of the weakness of Namor’s entire justification lies with what makes Killmonger and Black Panther in general so compelling and Wakanda Forever so vexing. Killmonger repeatedly voices the anti-colonial critique, the urge to meet violence with violence through the export of Wakandan weaponry as a reaction to a history of racism and colonial oppression of the global south.

What makes Killmonger’s arguments in terms of international policy and within the MCU so interesting is the way in which his interest in a more assertive foreign policy contrast with the America First, isolationist political rhetoric that had taken hold in 2018, which was already subverting some of the traditional political alignment of the early 21st century, the reaction to the failures of American “Nation-Building” in the Middle East, of curbing the expansion of weapons programs in Iran and North Korea, and even within the MCU, the wind down of SHIELD after Winter Soldier and Hydra’s infiltration.

In Wakanda Forever, Namor rightly identifies in a stunning–Wife describes as “Jungle Cruise-like”–five hundred year flashback that his kingdom–seeded by approximately fifteen people, or maybe they’re constantly kidnapping people and feeding them the flower to turn them blue?–that he too has experienced the horrors of racism and colonialism and would like to seek restitution, but he then directs much of his animus towards the only people who might truly be associated with those horrors, Wakanda. In fact, his accusation that they should be punished as collaborators betrays a real misunderstanding of their culture, all because–Wife surmises–the Wakandans suffer from power creep and an ever-growing Russian doll of antagonists who must meet them at their advanced level. The whole conflict feels unncessary and shoe-horned in, and ripe–Vulture bravely suggests, for a steamy, tense romance, which I am in favor of in any permutation you wish.

What a gut punch that Okoye never gets to have a reconciliation with the Queen. Their last words together are “I”m done with you” and that’s not entirely a bad thing? But at the same time, it means that you get Friends who say things like, why couldn’t Shuri give Okoye the flower or Nakia, for that matter (my pick)? Shuri had a good thing going on as the young, snappy jokester in the lab and now she’s the dour, serious, intense facsimile of her brother. And then we haven’t even started with Riri Williams. It’s hard to say that this movie is bad for a lot of reasons, not least of which is that it doesn’t deserve to be mediocre.

+ Well and respectful handling with the loss of the main actor
- Suddenly there's an additional populance in the water
- Marvel deseparately tries to force more movies after this one
- The german translation is so bad. They even didn't understand the title. "Wakanda forever" is translated to "Wakanda above all" - which makes zero sense in the movie, especially because they team up with another nation - so the "above all" makes even less sense.

No me gustó la película, es muy larga y repetitivo y me parece que tiene muchos guionazos y incongruencias, y un villano con potencial desperdiciado, además no me gustaron muchos personajes

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Another attempt at a marvel film. Where to start, the film had some great special effects, fantastic large scale fight scenes, the story did flow if a little confusing. However there were Huge problems with the story line and main characters. For starters I found it straight up insulation to Chad to no include a better back story to why he died and why there was no next king. Secondly Shuri taking the mantle as black panther was at this point was predictable of marvel in there all female direction again unnecessary. Now Iron heart/ Riri.....OMG what was that! She's unlikeable, privileged but yet acts like she's raised on the streets and some how has made enough money to make an iron man suit (cost Tony billions). She takes away from the film more than she added I pray they don't attempt to develop her into the mcu as that will be the final nail in the coffin for me. The film had no real impact in the mcu kinda another black widow, a film because we need to make a film not because it advances the overall story and mcu. Disappointed but better that the current stuff on disney plus they've released. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There are parts of the movie that are very entertaining. There's also a bunch of things that happen that make little to no sense from a logic standpoint. Especially when considering the high level of intelligence the Wakandans are held in regards to the MCU. I found myself asking multiple times throughout the movie why they didn't just Cryo freeze T'Challa until they(Shuri) recreated the herb or found a cure to his illness. There were other things like that as well that had my mind thinking just why but that's the way they decided to do it. The most powerful moments in the film all involve T'Challa, even though he's not in it which cements how much his non presence is felt. I personally would have preferred the character to be recast but hopefully in the future, this multiverse aspect will allow for that. Expand

For me personally the worst thing was the costume design. Be it the new Black Panther suit, the Pseudo-Iron-Man (That was by far the worst) or the Dreadlock-Squid suit... It was more like some carneval party rather than a grown up super hero movie set.

Yes the movie was primarily driven by females but it’s not like this was intentional. I think Wakanda Forever did a good job for the time they had to make sense of the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman. Yes the story of the new Black Panther took forever to come together but it was done with creativity. Glad the theme of the movie stuck to its musical and cultural roots like the first one, and Angela Bassett did put on a good performance.

Now the bad stuff, antagonist and his followers reminded me of Avatar….and their story involvement was underdeveloped. Also CGI overload was on display and it did have its cheesy moments. So it’s good to see at least once in your life.
