Second time my review has been deleted by this platform. This movie is awful and pushes hate, social and racial division, as well as anti male sentiment. This is an awful piece of propaganda. Its exactly what you´d expect from Disney in 2022.

The villain's origin was fascinating but aside from that, he's not as threatening or memorable as Killmonger. Shuri and her loved ones had a few deep moments but felt pretty bland; didn't connect or felt for them like in the first film. There are some really cool action scenes, but as expected, there were some notable unfinished visuals obvious green screen shots. Overall, not a bad movie. Didn't surpass the original; just expected more coming from a multimillion dollar studio. Expand

It was okay. A bit emotionally manipulative and the acting was really good, but it's still an MCU film and limited in quality. Definitely being rated higher by many than it deserves to be. It was just okay.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Didn't like it at all. Letitia Wright was always a miscast for me, so she was a lead was a let down. Many bad and contradictory decisions. Killing T'challa was de worst thing MCU ever made. Coogler didn't do justice to the character in Black Panther 1, but in this movie it appears he chose as his mission to destroy the character. The Killmonger thing in the ancestral plane was so disrespectful to T'challa. The presence of Riri Williams was unnecessary. Meanwhile, Wakandan characters like Ayo, Aneka and M'Baku had almost no screentime. This filme was a disaster for me. Expand

This was shameful! This was NOT a BLACK PANTHER movie! There was no Black Panther! This was just about women who hate men and don't need a man! Why did they make the only men in the movie be weak and bow down to them?

This was one of the longest movies I have seen and it was not worth it. This was written like it should have been a short TV series. 3 episodes at best.

The acting was OVERKILL! Seriously women? You are all better actors than what you portrayed!

The so-called special effects were beyond terrible. The water bomb timing was way off. Doesn't anyone watch and edit movies anymore?

This was an insult to the original Black Panther actor. (Sorry I can't remember his name off the top of my head.) He should have been replaced. If they didn't want to replace him - they could and should have - given him a warrior's death! Why show how he died in real life? (Cancer I believe.)

I'm proudly married - they didn't agree with that!
I am a proud mother of sons - they don't agree with that!
I respect ALL - they sure as HELL do not!
Women and men are equal - not in this movie!

Are my expectations too high because I bought and read the comics? Is this not meant for people who read the comics?

This was a mockery and not a true Marvel movie! Truly a waste of time and money! SO MANY FAKE REVIEWS BY CRITICS AND REVIEWERS! THIS is why I never read reviews before I go to see a movie.

at least Killmonger was a memorable Villain, at least he had some sort of like motivation for doing what he was doing you could kind of get behind him but with this Namor is just a joke he doesn't even look intimidating

Villains, of course, are always the weakest part of Marvel films, but this one at least bothers to develop its own more and give it a purpose beyond destroying the world. Extreme difficulty project that they landed beautifully. Better than the first one in my opinion, but I’m sure opinions will vary on that. This was very well directed. Coogler and the camera team imbued this film with a lot of artistry. As huge studio pictures go this movie was a visual marvel. The 3D was worth it too. It didn’t feel like “just another marvel movie” and that’s the most important compliment at this point. Black Panther as a series has its own vibe more than the others and I appreciate that at this point in the marvel anthology. Acting was all very good. There’s a lot of heavy lifting to be done here and everyone showed up. Music is a little in your face at times but it worked. Everything felt of a tone.

The plot here is better than the actual nuts and bolts of the story but I like the characters and the worlds they played with. It’s a visceral experience with compelling emotionality. I also enjoyed the folklore elements that were woven into the tale.

On its own terms, I’d give it an 8.5/10. Out of all marvel movies I’d rank it as B+ tier.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was a below average Marvel movie at best. They should have either recast T'Challa or made a Boseman tribute movie on Disney+ and got all the crying and reminiscing out of the way before proceeding with Wakanda Forever because this movie had pacing problems. Some of the action scenes were good, but the movie in whole was mostly just slow and boring. My favorite character was General Okoye. Ironheart was disappointing and Riri was simply forgettable and the suits were terrible, let's be honest. I don't know how Marvel managed to do it, but Namor was both interesting and disappointing at the same time. The first Black Panther, although overhyped and overrated as it was imo, I thought it was an above average Marvel movie personally, was simply a better movie than WF. Wait for it to release on Diseny+, you're not missing anything special imo. Expand

To Shuri the most unlikable character in the first movie vs Namoorrrrr. What is going on Marvel? I get it you want to put more females in your movies. But Jesus Christ you have replaced every popular male character with far less entertaining and likeable female characters. There wasn't enough time to build the characters in 2 hours and 40 mins. I wanted to see more of Namor and his people and maybe some more interaction with them, you introducing all whole new civilization like Wakanda, so you need a whole movie or series to do that. Namor in general needed more time to discover his character. Angela Bassett should get some kind of award she really is the Queen Ramonda and am only reminded its her because there is only 1 Angela Bassett on this planet. Lol.

We also could've used more time with Mbaku. The directo did an amazing job as usual. Movie looked great. All the females in this movie absolutely did a great job and it was cool to see more of them.

They did a great job making you feel the loss of Chadwick this entire movie. I think this is one of the better marvel movies to come out on this phase. Overall good movie.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I won’t simply dismiss this movie because of “woke” **** Actual history isn’t woke people. Where this movie falls short is much more disappointing.

To start, the stakes are incredibly low. It’s hard to become invested in a story and the idea of Namor as a villain when there are no consequences whatsoever. Everyone knew Wakanda wasn’t going to fall, or that no notable characters were going to die, or suffer any tragedy that could be used as character development. This saps the life out of the movie, and makes it seem pointless.

My second gripe is Namor himself. The writing really fails to cement him as a true villain. Somewhere in the underwater scene his motivations suddenly shift from “I just want to protect my people”, to “I want to watch the world burn”, with no real catalyst. This relegates IronHeart’s purpose in the movie to another half-baked character in a suit of armor with no real purpose. This also makes Namor’s subtle amicability seem laughable. You want to watch the whole world burn, but you’ll half heartedly kill the queen, and be so cordial as to give the resourceful Wakandans a week to reconsider, and then throw your motivations in the trash simply by getting bested in combat? Seems like his heart was never in it to begin with. The third area this movie falls short in is the combat. The choreography here is desperately lacking, and the constant camera cuts are dizzying, and seemingly wants viewers to fill in the gaps on what’s happening between cuts. The side boss given to Okoye is insipid and unimposing as well. Marvel seems to be heavily regressing in the action department instead of upping the ante . It doesn’t even surpass the original Black Panther, nor does it even crack the top 10 in terms of action. Other gripes:

- cliche “revenge isn’t the answer,” storyline straight from The Last of Us Part 2.

-Power scaling is all over the place and further diminishes The Hulk. Ok, Namor is as strong as The Hulk, but buddy from the mountains took a punch from him and was better within a day.

-Shuri’s urge for vengeance leads to an incompetent plan that only an Imbecile and not the sharp kind of a genius would concoct

-How did Shuri have a Black Panther suit perfectly tailor-made for herself when she was dubious of the ancestral plane even existing and was reluctant to takeover the mantle from the start

The only technical flaws are the poor lighting in the first third of the film similar to how Solo: A Star Wars Story is. The acting is done well. The cinematography is spot on for the most part. The characters are just as good as part one. The story is bad. The logic is bad. And the Black Panther had very little screen time and does not do enough to feel heroic. I also don’t really like how the Black Panther became the Black Panther. It seemed like an after thought. The credits scene is the best scene in the movie and is very touching. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wakanda Forever

Well, here we are again. In the M-She-U.
But first, the basics:
Is Black Panther 2 bad? Yes and no.

So here goes.
As we walked out of the theater, we daxed, "If it weren't for all the whining, this movie would only be an hour and a half long."
I didn't think it was quite that bad, but there is a grain of truth in it, because Wakanda Forever is already very... watery, even without Namor.
But let's get to the elephant in the room: yes, the Black Panther is now a woman. I wouldn't have much of a problem with that alone, if it weren't for the fact that every beloved character would soon be feminized.
But to make matters worse, this girl isn't really suited to be a superhero. In that suit, she looks like a 12-year-old brat. You just don't buy this role. I feel sorry for her.
And then there's Iron Heart, the poor man's Iron Man. In the comic, at least, there are heaps of references to Tony Stark, like his "soul" as the AI of the suit with Tomy Stark's voice. Of course, there was no room for such subtleties in this film. After all, they had to take care to make everything as feminine as possible.
And then there was Namor... who was robbed of his Atlantean heritage (for lack of other, better ideas) to make him a fluttering Mayan, who then ekes out an existence as a pseudo-villain.
When I was out of the cinema, I still thought the film wasn't that bad. But the more distance I gain from it, the more I realize that this is not a good movie. It all seems so terribly contrived, so half-hearted, so ham-fisted, so forced.
All in all, this is another wasted attempt to take away something the boys love. And therefore: bad.

Wakanda Forever is the BEST film of the MCU phase 4. It's emotions are strong and the actors performances are astounding. The only complaint I have is that the movie was about 20mins too long, but other than that it was perfect.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Here comes the sequel of the acclaimed 'Black Panther' the first. And it goes with both notable highlights and deceptions.

I'll start with the original soundtrack which is totally different from the first opus. This was the very first inconvenient to me as I observed the marvelous trap-based soundscape had disappeared from the whole movie. But it is only to let room to another big surprise, an interesting soundtrack orchestrated by Rihanna (making her big return eventually) and Rema in addition to the unforgettable Ludwig Göransson who directly contributed to give the first feature its unbelievable greatness thanks to major orchestral symphonies. Fortunately, they have chosen to retain the intense rhythms of the traditional drums, which are complemented by the Latino novelty. In a musical way it is as highly fluid as changing. The musical theme of Wakanda's bodyguard seems to have been improved and used with great mastery while the creation of the Yucatan theme also underlines Görasson's talent. Anyway the music clearly is what this movie so intense and poetic.

Obviously as we all expeced, there are many black people on screen, and very often gifted with great powers. These powers also belong to women (and more and more as the movie goes on). This is so refreshing. Terrific. But the regrettable thing is that the 'Black Panther' franchise here desperately tries to be overly political by adding more stories of settlers and colonised in a very clumsy way. Of course Latino people (and many more communities around the world) deserve the audience's attention. But it is the right place ?

Their story, and the Namor's one are really disturbing. They finally are shallow based on what Wakanda has to deal with. I mean the movie begins with major international conflicts and we just see the battle between two hidden nations. What is that political sense ? What is the role of France and USA (as they are showcased in the first scenes) in a conflict between two minorities ? There are so many visible holes in the script. Especially the repartition of forces between the characters. The pace is amazing in the first two thirds of the film but it certainly isn't enough to not make us realize this feature is 161 minute-long.

The last scenes (the battle ones) are really interesting as they give off a remarkable tension paced with a remarkable rhythm. Unfortunately, they are also the site of major problems of nonsense and ridiculous power relations.

Special effects are characterized by many highs and lows. Ugly in the air (especially with Namor) while fantastic on environment. However I did appreciate the evolution of M'Baku and Nakia's characters.

Acting skills are okay. Ramonda (Angela Bassett), M'Baku (Winston Duke) and Okoye (Danai Gurira) particularly show great performances while Shuri (Letitia Wright) seems to lack maturity and charism to assume the role she has to. Ross (Martin Freeman) only gives what he can, as in many movies. Namor (Tenoch Huerta) also seems to lack emotions in his palette. His character's speech is so repetitive and dumb it made me sick.

The morale seems to be very much limited to mourning and forgiveness, but this unfortunately seems insufficient for a film of this scale.

Chadwick Boseman's tributes are scattered throughout the film in different ways: sometimes quite subtle, sometimes more abrupt. In any case I found that the silent Marvel logo exposition in the beginning did a terrific job. It the protagonists mention his name very often at the start, it finally feels like they manage to craft a story despite his loss.

In conclusion I recommend watching it because it is the sequel of a precious turn in the MCU. But I recommend watching it as a sequel, not as the beginning as something new. I don't expect much from the next episodes based on this one.

There's one hour / one hour and a half introducing various things, fairly interesting and nicely made, even if it might feel a little long at some point for some people... There are several majestic things here and there (settings, costumes and visuals radiate poetry and sheer beauty), but the movie really and definitely takes off for good when it reaches its half, then it becomes extremely catchy pretty much all the time and intense in-depth... Undoubtedly mesmerizing ; emotionally, visually-wise and action-wise of course. Gorgeous/Stunning visuals all along (even breathtaking at times), the music, the adventure as a whole, and the new characters introduced are all true strengths of the movie (alongside with the mind-blowing costume design which might very much be a no-brainer upcoming Oscar winner)... Most definitely a slow burn (for story/lore and characters development's sake) with elongated storylines/scenes in the first half (aside from a couple of scenes), but in fact it plants many seeds and it very well pays off down the line... You are invested with pretty much every important character, which is a nice feeling obviously. And yes, again, the second half of the movie is a pure blast, in particular the last hour which is masterfully orchestrated and shines high-in-color before hour very eyes ! In the end, it leaves you a very pleasant taste. A deep pleasure it is to spend time in Wakanda and Talocan, and with these truly charismatic and interesting/layered characters.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really enjoyed Shuri's story, the film was incredibly emotional and powerful and had me in tears a few times. Most of the scenes were incredibly done and blew me away but the finale was a bit of a jumble with too many elements going on at once. I feel the finale could actually have been much easier to follow if it weren't for the one character who seems to not really belong in this movie. Yes, Riri. Now, I don't mind her as a mcguffin in theory, but her character is so poorly presented, undeveloped and almost a mary-sue. She's just amazing and that's it. She can invent anything and make an amazing power suit without breaking a sweat and there seem to be no missteps or character development. She wants a suit, she makes a suit. She wants a vibranium detector, she makes a vibranium detector. She doesn't work as a character in her own rite, she is just there to be the thing that the characters are fighting over. I would be wiling to accept if that is all she was, but they are trying to make her more than that and she just sticks out like a sore thumb. Expand

I'm not going to waste my time to write an entire essay or summary but here are some random things that I noticed:

Disney already faced backlash for constantly making their female characters the "most powerful ever" (Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Rey Skywalker). Well, they didn't learn anything because they did it again calling Shuri literally the most powerful leader of the most powerful nation. She is also unrealistically intelligent and she knows almost everything about any topic which is an issue with many characters in the MCU (Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker). Classic overcompensation.

They introduce a black girl "Riri Williams" who's also unrealistically intelligent and she is a new anime version of new Iron Man. It's also perfectly normal to bomb the police according to this movie... Or cross the Atlantic Ocean on the back of a Killer Whale in a matter of hours.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine from Seinfeld) shows up in an unresolved plot and is dressed like a gender studies professor with purple hair. It reminded me of Holdo from The Last Jedi... and again: Disney didn't learn anything.

The movie is racist because it constantly calls white people colonizers but it's not funny like it was in the previous movie. I sense some actual resentment this time.

It's still weird to me to see a group of black people dressed like gorillas and acting like apes.

The movie is almost entirely Green Screen and the actors stick out like a sore thumb with blurry masked out edges around them.

The story is about mourning and the result is a depressing experience at the cinema instead of an inspiring and uplifting one like Top Gun Maverick.

It's a bitter and boring Woke chick flick that lacks male energy.

Victoria Alonso was the stand-in for Feige on this, and had to show how Latin she is by altering the Protagonist's name to a Latin pronunciation with a rolling "R". She also had to show how incompetent she is by only telling two characters to use her great contribution, so everyone else just calls him Namor throughout the entire film. She also gave Shiri the most literal plot hole armor that can save her from anything, yet no one thought to use that to save another prominent character, or considered what this means for the MCU (practically makes everyone death-proof). But when everyone can be a Hulk AND Thor, gets a free-wish that is as powerful as the entire set of infinity stones, in a universe that will be destroyed by "incursions" when traveling to other universes (which sling rings do), what can you expect. Logic, heck even common sense is too restrictive for the people at Disney Marvel. Expand

I'm sorry for the actor dead but tbh killing the character was not the best/smartest movement. Our beloved hero dies off screen!!!! They could give us an epic final battle, but they way they do it off screen is very poorly executed.

The worst part was Ironheart ... with this and shows like she-hulk they are destroying the MCU.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. BP Forever was pretty bad. Although the story starts well with a lot of emotions, it begins to derail after that. First of all the choice of the BP was pretty bad, but that could have been acceptable if Suri didn't make a 360 turn on her character. Forget the fun and likeable girl genius, now it's just a plot device. It was just not credible in that story. The villain motivation to kill one girl, is absolutely stupid and make no sens. Especially when Wakanda acts otherwise. Is this the best writing you have ? Speaking of men, they either look stupid/soft/weak but none are credible. The villain is boring, doesn't have a good delivery and lines, and his look is atrocious. His choices and motivations makes absolutely no sens and are, constantly in contradiction.
The movie has some long moments without any rhythm, also some useless scenes here and there.

The new Black Panther is too slim, in certain angles it looks like an anorexic version of the actress. And I do not think it represent her body at all. The movie is mare into darkness at least in half of it. The acting was passable, but with such poor writing, it's hard to get better. The effects wer very unequal. The water explosions are very good, but the underwater scenes are not convincing. The MCU failed miserably to what DC Aquaman succeeded in underwater scenes. That movie shouldn't been release with such a bad script and broken characters. I give it 33% because of the homage to Chadwick. It's a big deception and I don't see how they can redeem BP and Namor after this movie.

It seems like there were as many scenes comprised of noise as there were scenes with dialogue. Also, the story was not nearly as interesting as the first movie, not that any comic movies have much story. Overall the plot was monotonous and boring and none of the characters were interesting. And of course the movie was filled with woke themes including children disregarding the traditions of their culture, evil white people and female characters wearing man-face. I enjoyed the first movie considerable more, which is typical. Rarely is a sequel as good. Please do not make another movie in this series. Expand

The film is average and I got bored in the middle of the film but the film has good parts, the combat is not good but the story manages to be good at certain times

This is a movie with a clear political agenda against white, men, heterosexual and against traditional values.
