Mar 19, 2023Wo Long will certainly quell your appetite for a Sekiro inspired gameplay, even though it cannot reach that game’s height. On the other hand, Team Ninja seems like it has reach a creative plateau sharing a lot of identical shortcomings with its previous games, mainly the boring level design, low variety of regular enemies and visuals that are certainly behind their time.
-
Mar 16, 2023The act of swordplay is still quite fun in Wo Long, but as soon as you'll get to ending credits, the game will likely just evaporate from you brain entirely.
-
Mar 9, 2023Ferocious combat clashes with a debilitating sense of familiarity, as Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty struggles to find its own identity amongst Team Ninja’s previous action RPGs, as well as other Soulslikes.
-
Mar 2, 2023Ultimately, though, as I said, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an incredibly difficult game to review and rate; quality-wise, it mixes heavily between high and low, and the whole can't be described as anything but extremely scattered from start to finish.
-
Mar 2, 2023Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is, at best, a serviceable Souls-like. If you enjoy Nioh and Sekiro, it’s a fun bit of filler, but it’s derivative and bloated, serving as a highlight reel of previous Souls-likes while missing the point of what made its inspirations, and even predecessors, unique to begin with.

Apr 17, 2023Both in terms of design and technically it is true that it is time for a change of generation, but Wo Long is a great farewell because it drinks just enough from Nioh (and Sekiro) to get its own identity. [Recommended]

Mar 2, 2023If we were to remember only one thing about Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, it would be its ease of completion. Forget about other titles where you had to work your ass off to even complete the first level. With Team Ninja’s latest, we can almost finish the story in one go. As for the graphics, an extra effort would have been appreciated, even more for the soundtrack. On the other hand, the gameplay’s pleasantness makes for quite an enjoyable experience. Whether alone, with friends or discovering this type of game, you will not regret it.
