Ultra Goodness 2 is an OK top-down shooter. The time-slowing feature is nice but doesn’t really do enough to make it stand out. The awkward Armageddon button needed more work and I’d prefer the screen be a little more zoomed out, or at least give us the option to change it. It will take you about an hour or two to play through the whole game, though it is challenging enough to make it enjoyable so fans of this genre won’t be too disappointed picking this up.

That’s the heart of what UltraGoodness 2 on Xbox gets so wrong. It forgets what’s great about twin-stick shooting: the frenzy, the pyrotechnics, the stacking power-ups, and how godlike it can make you feel. There’s nothing better than swerving to avoid an enemy as you nail a missile into their broadside. If you are a shooter that is encouraging players to stop, slow down and tentatively tiptoe through your game, then something is wrong. UltraTepid it is then.

    Fun yet hard....

Ultragoodness 2 is fun yet can be hard with soo much going on at the one time. You need to shoot your way through each level killing all enemies from devils, drunken rabbits to crazy mushrooms etc. The shoot can prove quite hard to master at first as you only shoot in one direction unless you move the aim stick around. You can drop bombs which I found can be great but at other times frustrating when they done work as you want them to. There its also a slow motion mode when you don't move your character, everything on screen goes super slow until you move again which can help you out of a tight squeeze when there is a lot of things happening at once.

The one thing that is great is Armageddon mode, where you can shoot 3 missiles at enemies when you lock them in. This can prove very handy for harder enemies who shoot back and take a bit to kill.

Throughout each level you not only have to compete against enemies aka monsters etc but also shooting fireballs from cannons and spinning things.

I enjoyed the game but found the control scheme a little too difficult and messy for my liking but that been said, its still a fun game with all the splattered blood.

A game to be played between games, give it a shot!
