    If you like FA 4, this is a game for you, but if you want a game where you can wake up, get in your ship, fly up into the stars, jump across the system, fight bad guys, travel, explore, mine, trade ect, all with just one... ONE loading screen at the start of the game, do all that seamlessly, with beautiful graphics, in a true sandbox, no crappy woke stuff.
    Just play Star Citizen, and if    If you like FA 4, this is a game for you, but if you want a game where you can wake up, get in your ship, fly up into the stars, jump across the system, fight bad guys, travel, explore, mine, trade ect, all with just one...     Disappointed, the game system is old, the game loads too much, the game content is very rich, the camp story is interesting, the main story presence is low, the performance is good in all the Bethesda games, the game is generally great for me

    The game is really boring, no immersion whatsoever. Never played an rpg where I didn't care about about any of the factions or characters or finding conclusion to any storyline. Space flight is horrible and only used for combat no exploration. Menufield...

    Massively let down with this. The worlds feel hollow and empty, most of the characters are uninteresting, the combat is jarring and has no charm, the dialogue by (Bethesda's standards) is abysmal, there is no space travel or exploration; just more and more fast travel screens. I am genuinely shocked this is what they chose to release. Big no from me.

    Let me start by saying that I adore almost everything about this game. Once I saw a lot of the reviews, especially the 7/10 from IGN...I was truly disappointed, confused, worried. I felt like all the wait, hype, and research for this game were for nothing. I mean I bought an Xbox specifically for this game, as my laptop would've never been able to run it. So with that being said, when ILet me start by saying that I adore almost everything about this game. Once I saw a lot of the reviews, especially the 7/10 from IGN...I was truly disappointed, confused, worried. I felt like all the wait, hype, and research for this game were for nothing. I mean I bought an Xbox specifically for this game, as my laptop would've never been able to run it. So with that being said, when I sat down to play Starfield for the first time I was hooked. Hours went by and a question started spinning in my head. "Am I playing a completely different game from the reviewers". There are a few things I wish they would have done differently, like - having a map, at least in the major cities/ buildings/ships, and so on. Fewer planets, which would have been more intricate and filled with environmental storytelling would have been better in my eyes..and some other minor things like fewer loading screens. But it doesn't seem fair to complain and to be nit-picky as if we were owed something. The game is one of the best games of all time and it's free on "Game Pass", which is mind-blowing. Bethesda will keep doing what Bethesda does, and nobody in my eyes, can do what Bethesda does. Their games are the deepest games I've played and I appreciate them for that. I can talk for hours about all the great systems in Starfield, or about how great the characters are voiced, or how the music is almost as good as in Skyrim. I can't stress enough how important it is to be able to immerse yourself in this game. Give this game a chance! Don't listen to the negative reviews, or better yet, listen to them, go in with low expectations, like I did, and prepare to be amazed.… Expand

    The game runs fine. Solid 30 FPS is not a deal breaker. I would like less loading screens but they are much faster than previous BGS games. If you are at all curious about this game give it a try and don’t let the haters influence you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but people that are rating this 0/10 are out of their minds.

Unfortunately, once you get the hang of it you realize how rinse-and-repeat the “exploration” is in this game. Drop to the waypoint, walk about 400 meters to the destination, enter a copy-pasted cave orInteresting for the first 10 hours before the doldrum of RNG repetition kicks in. Fast travel is a bit finicky to start with, but you start to get into the groove of it after not too long. Unfortunately, once you get the hang of it you realize how rinse-and-repeat the “exploration” is in this game. Drop to the waypoint, walk about 400 meters to the destination, enter a copy-pasted cave or facility, finish the objective. Rinse. Repeat. The lack of traversal options on-planet before you reach the 400 meter destination is an absolute slog. Locking gameplay features behind skill trees is frustrating as well, especially given the fact that you are unable to respec your character. Bethesda-standard physics jank and uncanny valley lip sync have not improved since Fallout 4. Pretty unsurprising at this point. I didn’t have high hopes given Bethesda’s recent offerings. That’s the only reason I can say I’m not disappointed by this game. It’s more or less what I expected.… Expand

    Very poor attention to details for a modern production; feels very 2005. Poor characters (NPCs). Impossible to remove pronouns. Way to woke for normal production - feels they had an agenda to push, rather than focusing on what matters in a game. You can choose which way paper roll hangs in the toilet - which raised my rating from 3 to 4 Play BG3 instead - this one is not worth a penny in 2023

    Starfield is one of the few games that immerses you in a unique environment. Comparing it to Starcitizen or No mans Sky is dumb, starfield has a different atmosphere and mechanics. It is an excellent game. I've been playing it for 50 hours and it's very awesome

    Extremely bad game. The space combat has terrible controls compared to games that came out 10 years ago. With obnoxious button indicators next to weapons and systems. It feels so janky, like they put space combat into a fallout 3 engine. The combat is Fallout. It actually feels like a terrible fallout mod. I can't believe this got such good official reviews.

Hopefully it will get better as time passes by but this game needed more time in the oven. Bethesda does show its quality with some of the funniest bugs only available on bethesda games.     The game is dull. There's no other way around it. I've never played any mainline Bethesda games like Skyrim or Fallout 4. As such, this is my first "Bethesda RPG" and, I got to say, I'm not impressed.

The game itself runs very well; very smooth, no bugs, glitches, FPS drops or stuttering. However, there's next to no attention to detail. For example, there aren't any foot trails in sand or mud; if you throw a grenade into water, there'll just be an basic explosion instead of a water explosion; there's no change in water if you look down at your feet when you're walking in it, there's no destructible aspects to the environment... stuff like that.

    Then there's the "space exploration". This is the most pathetic thing about this game. You'd assume that it'd be more like Star Citizen than friggin' LEGO STAR WARS THE SKYWALKER SAGA, but you'd be wrong. In short, in games like Star Citizen and No Man's Sky, the transition from boarding your starship, blasting off into space, traveling to a different planet and landing on that planet is seamless. You can do it all yourself during gameplay. This game is not like that. It's almost exactly like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

    In this game, you get in your ship then press a button to take off. You watch a cutscene, the game loads, then you're in space. Once you're in space, you bring up a menu, select your destination, than select "travel". A cutscene plays, the game loads, and then you're around a different planet. To land, guess what? You guessed it. You open up your map, select your destination, press a button. A cutscene plays, the game loads, another cutscene plays and you're on the planet in your ship. Oh and, by the way, this is the most immersive way of doing it. It's completely unnecessary to go into space at all. Once you've landed somewhere, you can literally just fast travel there in a menu. No starship, no space travel... nothing.

    I'll be honest, although the game world is more expansive in this game than LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, I prefer the latter. Somehow, the Lego game has a more seamless and immersive travel system than this game even though it's nearly identical. I say this because, depending on where you are in the Lego game, you can seamlessly jump from one planet to another without using menus. If you've played the Lego, game you know what I'm talking about. If you don't, look it up.

    Now here's the thing, space exploration is just a part of this game. I bought it for the space exploration and I'm willing to bet a lot of other people are going to as well. With that being said, how is the rest of the game despite the space exploration's shortcomings. The answer: not much better.

    Credit where credit is due. The music is phenomenal and sound design is very well done. Voice acting, ambiance, space ambiance, running, clambering, shooting... all very immersive from an audio perspective.

    The art design is similarly unique enough to be memorable and nice to look at. The character customizer, weapon designs, costume designs, worlds, environments, buildings, props... all very well done.

    That's where my praise ends.

    Graphically, the game is mediocre. Not the best, not the worst. Like I mentioned before, although the art direction is good, there's a general lack of attention to detail that really draws me in. NPC animations are particularly awful. I'd honestly be a lot more critical of the game's graphics if the game didn't run as well as it did. Like I said before, real smooth performance across the board.

    When it comes to story, I haven't gotten far and it's not the worst in the world. However, from a presentation and entertainment perspective, it's lame. It's the typical RPG-style storytelling of walking up to a character, pressing E to talk to them, and then wasting the next 10 minutes selecting dialogue options and watching a medium close up shot of some NPC talking. Again, I know that some people don't have a problem with this. I do. I find it boring and tedious. The only game I don't mind it so much is Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution & Mankind Divided.

    Lastly, the gameplay. Again, typical, tedious and unoriginal RPG shooter gameplay. Each weapon has a bunch of numbers and every enemy has a rank. Depending on your weapon and the enemy, combat usually involves hosing down enemies until their health bar disappears. I got a lot of flashbacks to when I played Tom Clancy's The Division.

    All in all, the game is an unoriginal, lazy, and boring slog. Certain aspects are fine but unlike titles like the aforementioned Cyberpunk 2077 or the new Deus Ex games, this game doesn't have enough flair or fun factor to keep my interest.    … Expand

    There is a fundamental lack of creativity and risk taking here. The game is disappointing, not because it fails at materializing its vision, but because of how poor the vision is in the first place.

    Technically speaking, there is no space exploration to be found anywhere, rather an endless concatenation of ad nauseum loading screen, and fetch quests.

It's baffling that Cyberpunk 2077 does every single RPG mechanic much better and all this game does is make me appreciate Cyberpunk even more.The game is tedious and frustrating to play. They had many years to improve all the horrible game mechanics, but they failed to learn from other video game's mistakes. It's baffling that Cyberpunk 2077 does every single RPG mechanic much better and all this game does is make me appreciate Cyberpunk even more.

    It's not just the excessive loading screens, it's all the little details like having proper city maps or a better UI with more information for inventory. Half our time playing should not be spent in menus organizing our inventory and fighting the game mechanics.

    I won't even mention all the bugs and terrible animations, they speak for themselves.

    The sad part is that in a few years some things will likely get patched in, but by that point it would be completely useless as I have already beaten the game and have no desire to play it again.

    AAA games with this much money behind it should be shipped completely polished and finished. And now developers/publishers can't hide behind the COVID excuse, so this game was simply shipped this way because the stubborn heads at Bethesda/Microsoft decided to release it like this.

    I’ve been glued to the screen for days. 30fps seems to be annoying at first and I didn’t notice after a few minutes of gameplay. The questing system really pulled through for me. People are review bombing this game for no reason other than not being on ps5.

    If you wanted to be No Man Sky 2 this its not your game. If you wanted that all Bethtesda 2015 issues Fails on Fallout 4 this it's not your game. If you annoying for loading scene screens in each time you landing on a planet, enter building this it's not your game. The worts thing it's the NPC characters and face details.

    So, it's Bethesda and the famous sweet little lies from Todd Howard. Well, I was playing in a great PC (Ryzen 7 3800x, rtx 3060 ti and 16 gb) and it is catastrophic. A lot of audio bugs and fps drops. And there is the loadings... OMG, so much loads. There is no vehicle to explore the planets or moons. You can't fly with your spaceship arround the planet. People are comparing it to the GOAT Skyrim, which is truly impossible standards for a game that has only been out for a few days. People also expect it to have every feature of every great space game, flight like elite dangerous, freedom like No Mans Sky. Despite the impossible standards, I think Starfield hit the markThis is an excellent game, but I am not surprised by the poor reviews.     What a disappointment. Bethesda keeps making the same game since Morrowind. They slightly upgrade the graphics, but it's the same bland story, boring characters with no facial expressions and an empty lifeless open world. Bioware has always been better, CD Project Red left them in the dust long ago and now Larian Studios is running circles around them. It's just sad.

    Realistically I would give this game around a 9.5 but I'm giving it a 10 to offset the troll review bombers.     Starfield is an amazing experience, the best Bethesda game ever made and is really good fun. It can take a while to get going straight out of the gate, lots of new lore to get to grips with and loads of new systems but it’s a rewarding experience overall to dive into it all. About 40 hours in my mind was swimming with the amount of possibilities for future playthroughs and I hadn’t evenStarfield is an amazing experience, the best Bethesda game ever made and is really good fun. It can take a while to get going straight out of the gate, lots of new lore to get to grips with and loads of new systems but it’s a rewarding experience overall to dive into it all. About 40 hours in my mind was swimming with the amount of possibilities for future playthroughs and I hadn’t even scratched the surface of the quests and hadn’t travelled to half of the galaxy yet. Truly an epic game that can be replayed and replayed and the smoothest least buggiest bethesda experience to date. So much fun to be had here.… Expand

    Guys, please test and fix bugs in your games before release. At least most annoying ones. People should play and not looking for workaround and fixes instead.

    I was so excited about Starfield since the game's presentation in June that I pre-ordered the game to have Early Access. Although it took me a few weeks to see if this game would convince me that it's another Bethesda masterpiece, it ended up disappointing me.

    The exploration is limited by useless boundaries. 80% of the planets are empty.     Starfield is possibly the most disappointing game of this generation. It doesn't know what it wants to be a space sim or an rpg, as a result what you get is a small version of superior titles. Not to mention the horrible facial animations, and empty worlds. The only redeeming factor is you can basically play it for $1 on Gamepass.

    Esse jogo é uma completa decepção. Ele parece um fallout piorado. A exploração é completamente horrível os mais de 1000 planetas a maioria são vazios e não tem absolutamente nada para fazer e a IA dos inimigos está um completo desastre. os inimigos quando te avistam eles correm para o nada e simplesmente bugam em salas fechadas e ficam lá te olhando e fora isso os gráficos parecem de jogosEsse jogo é uma completa decepção.     I've been playing for 8 days now and the audio in the game is excellent. the mix of skyrim, call of duty and no mans sky. controls are great and vast planets to explore. simply one of the best games of 2023

    2+ years of nonstop hype building and trailers and this is what we get?

    I'm about 90 minutes in and I have not encountered a single key moment, a single line of meaningful dialogue, a single story element that piqued my interest, a single NPC that made me give a damn about them, or a single part of the game that made me go "wow, this is fun". What little battles I have gotten into    2+ years of nonstop hype building and trailers and this is what we get?

    I'm about 90 minutes in and I have not encountered a single key moment, a single line of meaningful dialogue, a single story element that piqued my interest, a single NPC that made me give a damn about them, or a single part of the game that made me go "wow, this is fun".

    What little battles I have gotten into against enemies isn't anything new or different than from any other single player shooter I have played over the years. I'm sure it gets deeper the more I play it, but I'm not gonna force myself to endure much more of this boring slog of a game to get to that point, so for now I'm just gonna put it down.

    This isn't 2010. A video game cannot get by from just having "nice graphics" anymore. It needs to have a purpose. It needs to have a reason to play it. It needs to be fun. It needs to be interesting and engaging.

    Starfield is none of that. It's the same old boring formula Bethesda has been using in their games since the days of Morrowind. The same robotic NPC AI and lifeless stare-ito-your-soul look on their faces as they half-assedly deliver whatever boring-ass dialog they're supposed to give you. This game FEELS like it was made in 2010, despite it being so "graphics hungry" that it's locked to 30fps on the current generation Xbox. Something that is inexcusable considering how powerful the Xbox Series X is supposed to be.

    I'm glad they put this on the Ultimate Game Pass, because I feel sorry for anyone who actually spent real money on this trashpile.

    2+ years Bethesda has been hyping this game as being the next big thing. It may be big. It may be a thing. But that's about all it is. A Great Big Waste of Time.

    for what was promised they didn't deliver anything... it's a very boring, monotonous game with graphics and npcs made of clay and hideous. the story is half-assed and bad. in short, for this game to be bad, it still has to improve a lot besides the fact that on a pc with a 4090 you can't get the 60 spikes, a very bad experience.

    The game is amazing. But it takes at least 10-15 hours to realize that. If I had to point out any dislike would be no seamless tradition from flying and landing on the planet. But that’s only because we compare to no man’s sky. The games’ story is amazing. You need very good rig to run on high but it pays off. So much to do in the game.

    If the game is loaded with loading screen then why on earth it couldn't run in 60fps on the Series X. 20 years In making and we get this, how is this ok? We live in a world today where the right is wrong and the wrong is right and there are plenty of wrong in this game. Its simply unfinished.     The loadscreens and limitations to the "open world" killed immersion for me. The game can look pretty but at times it just looks absolutely horrible. I have this game on gamepass luckily as I would never pay full price for this.

    Combat is horrible ,

    Ai is the worse I ever seen ,

    Missions are pointless. One such example I need to know how to make my coffee better so you gotta steal a tea recipe for the coffeemaker vendor , another mission is a receptionist lost a person’s baggage so you are tasked with finding the baggage which consists of a mug and I’d card ..

    Ship building is pointless , Ship customization pointless ,

    Companions are some of the worse ..

    A laggy buggy mess the game has you think you’re literally teleporting Story is absolutely horrible which I beaten in under 6 hours!

    Fractions are pointless where there is literally no consequence to your actions you can join opposing fractions ..

    This is a loading screen simulator. Bethesda actually created a new genre of game ..

    This is a fast travel simulator you can’t fly anywhere ! You think you’ll explore the stars nope you can’t leave orbit . You think you can land nope you can’t ,

    Enter and exit your ship load screens ..

    Ai absolutely horrifying eating sandwiches and food in helmets ,

    Companions walking out in space were no oxygen. With no gear on !!!!

    Ai standing on chairs , or gathered in clusters , wandering around aimlessly

    No life in this game you actually feel you’re in a game you are pulled out of that reality . This is after 70 plus hours !! The game does not get better after 15 hours it’s the same dam thing !! This game is an utter dumpster fire. And unfortunately I can’t get a refund . For my collector’s edition . Ate dookie with Starfield . I hope this helps another user not make the same mistake as I did ..    … Expand

    It is true that you'll find a good number of barren wastelands with little to do other than extracting some resources and take off to more interesting places, but again it really depends on how you want to play. There's so much to do, so many systems and abilities to explore, missions to complete, spaceships to loot, and species to catalogue, that I honestly don't think there's anybody who thinks that exploring every square meter of this universe is the better way to enjoy Starfield.

    While it has weak spots and doesn’t push many boundaries, Starfield is still an excellent RPG experience. Bethesda has once again mastered the things it built its reputation on – world building, quest design, and deep customization. However, it’s found new things to excel at too, with exciting combat and a novel implementation of New Game Plus.
