Starfield’s open-world is jaw-dropping. I have throughly enjoyed every second that I’ve played. Would highly recommend especially if you enjoyed Fallout or Skyrim.

Sure, no game is perfect, and I've noticed a few minor issues here and there, but they don't take away from the overall fantastic experience. I can't help but wonder why some players are being so harsh in their ratings. Starfield is a space odyssey I've been waiting for, and it's delivering more than I expected...

Just have to admit that PNJ are really stupid for gunfight.

Lame character animations, no exploration as promised before, it ain't vast at all, there's planet boundary and no flying! What the hell is this. We were promised something great but it's just another space game. I give it 1, because of the false promises.

I was told that this game would have gameplay mechanics and exploration that no game has ever done before. This was all a lie. You can't even space travel. There is no real-time space exploration. You are really stuck at using a map to fast travel to locations. You can't even circle around a planet. The loading screens makes to think if this game was really made to be in last generation consoles. Even go as far back to the PS3/Xbox 360 era, where loading screens happened in every game. This is bad. Starfield was overhyped, it is underwhelming and overrated. I do not recommend this game. Expand

I'm absolutely blow away by Starfield. I have been following it since it was first revealed and have had high hopes for it from the beginning. Anyone review bombing this or giving negative reviews is most likely doing so out of spite or hasn't played.

I'm absolutely blow away by Starfield. I have been following it since it was first revealed and have had high hopes for it from the beginning. My wife also plays and at first she was more skeptical, now it has turned into all she has played since early access. Anyone review bombing this or giving negative reviews is most likely doing so out of spite or hasn't played.

Bethesda makes Bethesda games. All of their open world games be it Skyrim, Fallout or now Starfield have some similar mechanics that will translate from one game to the next depending on the setting. I feel that they did a phenomenal job of taking those mechanics and updating them for this release.

Crafting: Spacesuit and Weapon modification, Outpost and Ship construction, Research and Pharma terminals. The crafting will have you consumed with wanting to do more and more. The ship building is especially addicting as it can be seen as a mobile base. I'm just about to crack into outpost building but from what I've seen as what's possible in game, it looks equally addicting.

Main and Side Quests: I wish I could tell you my opinion on the main questline, but I keep getting pulled away by bounty hunting, side quests, getting kidnapped in someone else's ship, etc that each day I log in it feels like I'm playing a whole new game. I had the same experience in Skyrim, but where I could do a couple side quests, do some adventure then touch the main story line in skyrim, I find myself devoting whole play sessions to other stuff I discover. For example, last night I wanted to start building an outpost, but then I discovered I can go to the outskirts of the main city, New Atlantis. While I was out there I got ambushed by Pirates, found an autonomous farm and a smuggler ship waiting for a package mule. Suffice it to say, I did not end up building my outpost, but I had one heck of a time.

Combat: Both On foot and in space combat is greatly improved over previous Bethesda titles (on foot). I am astonished by how much improvement they have done to this system. Combat feels engaging and rewarding. Adding in the Jump pack and you getting verticality over enemies can put a smile on your face quick. Additionally the varying states of gravity can spice up combat really quick. One time i was on a disabled ship and the ship's gravity kept turning on and off, meaning stuff was floating and falling everywhere. You also can feel the benefit of additional traits, skill unlocks and buffs provided by each weapon. I spend a lot of time in Star Citizen so I can tell you that Starfield is not a space sim, however what it does get right is that spaceship combat does feel exciting. Blowing up an enemy ship feels very rewarding with hits to the hull flaking off pieces and modules; but disabling someone's ship and boarding it is way more fun. After you board, the crew of the ship is waiting for your attack in pockets of the ship, with your job being to clear it, take any valuable items and get out.

Looting: Sometimes i go out and loot what I need, other's I go out and loot what I want. There is so many items to find, and you can use these items to decorate your room, ship and outpost and everything has 100% persistence. At the stage I'm at, I feel like I'm still discovering new weapons even after having discovered a ton.

Graphics: Graphically I am ultra impressed with the fidelity and detail given to each weapon, suit, ship and interior. This has to be one of Bethesda's crowing achievements in open world games with the amount of attention given in every space. Even things like computer stations that aren't functional will have you getting in close to see what is going on. Graphical performance has been pretty great for my machine, but I am running a fairly high end rig. I have also played on XBox and while the increased frame rate on PC is awesome, running at 30fps playing from the couch can be just as enjoyable.

Bugs: I know some have said they have experienced a few, I however have not.

Improvements I'd like to see: While I'm giving the game a 10/10, it isn't without a few things I would like to see added or improved. These are relatively small items and doesn't ruin the experience.
-Ground vehicles need to be added for exploration. Even if it's a relatively slow lunar rover style buggy from the Apollo missions, it would certainly help and could even expand cargo space on exploration hikes.
-Optimization (PC): The game has been optimized well for AMD cards, however I am running an NVIDIA card and would love to see native DLSS support.
-In Game Radio: Look I know it's not fallout, but with the SSNN (Settled Systems News Network) being a thing, I don't see why I can't tune into it in my ship where right now I have to go to an SSNN kiosk and listen.

Summary: Starfield is one of my favorite games of all time. I've longed to get lost in another Skyrim/FO type experience, now I am. I will be deep in the Starfield for years to come.

I know Bethesda releases always get a lot of love and hate. It's essentially a better-looking (in my opinion), story-focused No Man's Sky. But like 2023 NMS not release year NMS lol. Yes there are glitches/bugs and I have heard it does not do well on anything that isn't a super high-end PC but I'm on Xbox SX so *shrug emoji*. I will address some of the bad things/things I don't like first: I really like the ability to fly in low orbit/a few hundred feet off the ground in NMS and I would have liked to see that in Starfield, to some degree or another. It seems like there aren't a *crazy* amount of guns to choose from, I would have liked more options, though it's not like there are none. There seems to be a stark difference between systems w/ cool stuff going on in them and ones that have nothing going on. I realize this is probably more "realistic" but you really feel the boring bland systems when you compare them to the fun systems. Travel on the ground is kind of tedious. And then there are the varying glitches/bugs, clipping, dialogue bugs, outpost issues. They're annoying but not game breaking.

Now for the good! Game looks better than I expected. The individual items are all really well rendered and detailed. Very nice. Ship customization is mostly awesome and you can do some cool stuff with it. It seems like there is A LOT to do. I went off to some system for a main side mission and got distracted by a lil side-side mission X'D. I spent the next 2 hours helping out some settlers get rid of some spacers. It was dope. The game seems to be full of that, the Bethesda dope questlines and side quests seem to be here in full force and I'm here for it. The voice acting, to me, is pretty good. Idk man, I love space games for the most part. If I had played another 100 hours maybe my review would be worse or better, who knows. All I know is I'm having a lot of fun and I look forward to playing more and idk does the game merit you paying 70 bucks? If you like bethesda games, I think it's worth it. If you're wondering if you should and you're new to Besthesda, maybe wait for a sale. If you don't like bethesda games, i don't think you'll like this.

Background: I'm primarily into everything game-wise. Cod, Fallout, Fifa, F1 and Cities Skylines, to name a few, so I'm pretty varied in my tastes, which this game plays too nicely.

I was excited to play Starfield and got it on the Gamepass pre-release deal, and a week after launch, I have ashamedly already put in over 48 hours of play.

I have run the main centre of the campaign twice, and I'm going to play out all the side factions on my third run.

This is important. The centre to the campaign is not the campaign story in its entirety, and I have read reviews saying it's small, etc., but it's not; it's massive, the people writing that just haven't grasped the bigger picture.

The side quests, as we call them, are not needed to do the main campaign trail but they are integral as it shapes your ending.

So my thought on this is the intention is to see the side quests as the actual main campaign and not an aside. All of the factions you meet can have an impact on the ending.

The centre of the campaign is designed to be quicker as actually completing the main campaign should be done at least once before you go off to explore, and despite what people say, there is so much to explore.

However, This is not No Mans Sky, nor is it meant to be, and it's not Elite Dangerous either.

It's a beautiful combination of gunplay, spaceflights, base building and storytelling.

After your new game plus, I think that's when you go and forge all your relationships, visit all the systems and make the big decisions that will affect the end of your run.

Bad things: I have had a few, and I mean only a few dropped frames. Its crashed on me a few times, but other than that, its solid on my Series X.

I do think that for some gamers it's too big a game to get into and enjoy, but if you like to really get involed in peoples lives and stories and shoot, space fight, base and ship build, I think you will have a blast.

Eu sinto, bethesda. Eu sinto

80% of the planets are empty.
    Buggy NPCs
It took me 3 times of reloading a mission in order to proceed.
Graphics are outdated and the excuse of it being a Bethesda game is stupid.
The story is short and the intro is tiring...
Bad writing, especially during some specific dialogues.

    Positives:

    - Combat and guns feel great.
    - Some missions are fun to play
    - Spaceship customization
    - Space combat and some random encounters.

This is a great Bethesda game. If you like Mass Effect and always wondered what it would be like if Bethesda tried to make one here you go. That answer is No. Even if Bethesda gets all the bugs and glitches fixed, which they surely will, it is still just Futuristic Skyrim with occasional space dogfights.

That’s not to say it’s a bad game but a game we’ve played before making it more comfort food than new experience. For example the games main story line is near identical to Mass Effect as I mentioned it earlier. Main Character touches weird artifact of unknown origins and has wild visions that they don’t quite understand and their life is thrust in a new direction to understand what happened and why.

Now I admit as a huge Mass Effect fan this is right up my ally so I am enjoying it but using my love of Mass Effect and Bethesda games to give this game a 10 and not deduct any points because of its flaws or that it wasn’t the game I was expecting based on what Todd Howard had said about it would be irresponsible.

The point that it was supposed to be a vast Galaxy to be explored is true to a point. You can explore a galaxy of a thousand worlds but there is little to nothing to do on most of them so almost every review and even I will state you’ll probably never do much beyond going to the worlds that have quests. So outside of bragging rights doing it on Stream to prove you would land on all 1,000 worlds I can’t see a reason otherwise.

Another flaw that is jarring to me is repetition of assets, and no I don’t mean sandwiches. I mean bases and buildings. You will go on a mission and infiltration a base and clear it out and a short while later and go take out another base and it will look identical to the last one even down to the location of the NPC enemies and the loot locations. This even happens in the main story line and it feels like you are doing the exact same thing you just did… because it is exactly the same thing you just did. These bases or caves can be replicated multiple times to you could just about play blindfolded once you reach them as you would be able to rely on muscle memory. Which I find to be lazy level design. If this were just in the side quests that would be bad but not as bad as the fact you run into this repetition in the main story line.

The game has a lot to do and a lot to dig into if you want to build outposts and design custom ships. There are many ways to play and a lot to do. The side quests and side story lines are by far where the game shines and I did enjoy the main story but the meat and potato’s of this game is in that many varied things you can do from undercover agent to space pirate to day worker on an assembly line making Aurora. There are many things to peak one’s interest and if despite some of the flaws I mentioned and some I didn’t you like the other thing I mentioned or are a fan of Bethesda and Mass Effect then this might be the game for you.

If you have GamePass you should give it a try if not buy if you think it is for you or wait for a sale giving time for the many bugs and glitches to be rectified.

    Good luck space cowboy.

Once again Bethesda has delivered a fantastic game. I have played the fallout series, elder scroll games and somehow every time they make a beautiful game that is so addicting to me I don’t want to stop playing it. The only complaint I have is that there are no maps on the planet like there game normally have. 10/10 for me!

This game attempts many things and accomplishes very few, and the early game is an appallingly slow burn, forcing you to play many hours before you start to realize the fun parts will never arrive. Ground combat is Fallout 4 but slightly less clunky. Space combat feels like a series of unwieldy boxes whirling around above a planet, about as fast paced and exciting as helping an old lady across the street. Any kind of space flight besides this is nonexistent, space exploration consists of loading screens and takeoff/landing cinematics. The other part of space exploration is running on foot thousands of meters across a fishbowl map on a generic planet or barren moon, to find the same copy/pasted outpost you discovered on the first moon you visited, with all the same items and npc's in the same exact places. Outpost building is an absolute joke. You would think it would be good, being the third iteration of Bethesda's building system, but in SPACE. It's not, it's 4 prefab structures, 2 landing pads (1 of which doesn't work) and a bunch of large stuff you have to build on the ground outside because there's no nice foundations to build and build on and they don't fit in the very generic premade hab shapes they give you. Followers are uninspired and forgettable and dialogue is limited to Good or Edgy. The only real effect of this dialogue is getting your boring pack animal companion to complain at you for not being enough of a Lawful Good Paladin type. The background and character building is vapid and thin, with my outlaw Professor being universally recognized for having briefly worked on a mining crew at the beginning of the game before getting railroaded into the main quest, or rather, the main series of identical fetch quests that lead you to the lazily written and plainly uninspired conclusion of the very forgettable main story. I paid a hundred bucks to get this in Early Access in spite of having Game Pass because I believed in the strength of the games Bethesda used to make, but the only memorable thing about this game is that I had to play well past the refund time to get the full scope of how bad this Triple-A blockbuster game turned out to be. I fear for the disaster that Elder Scrolls 6 is likely to be, and Bethesda has finally lost me entirely. After many games and thousands of cumulative hours, I won't day one or early access anything from them anymore because they can't be trusted. Expand

Negative points: - Load Manys (the game was not placed on an entire scaled map, they placed several submaps, which generates load for everything). - Exploration raza/null (the previous point influenced this... another thing is that because it is divided into sub maps, you land on a planet does not allow you to go to another point on that same planet, being necessary to leave and enter it. .You only go to battle, otherwise just fast travel). - Faces of the characters (totally without fact, out of line with the narration) - Missing a pt br dubbing - bad AI (same level as cyberpunk) - Missing a 60 fps mode - Graphic quality of the main city, new atlantic, very weak (the vegetation graphic is distorted from the rest of the game, looking very artificial). - Main Quest is average (doesn't make you want to do it, because side quests are much more attractive).

Final Grade: 7.0 (Upgrades with patches/mods)

    ---- Review em Português ----
    Pontos positivos:

So far I love it. The graphics are great, the story so far is fun, and I love the first ship you get your hands on.

I've seen plenty of critique around loading screens, and a lack of continuity when taking off and landing, or flying from A to Z which is why I wanted to write this review.

Personally I think it looks great. You can view the take off and landing of your ship, and view the entering and exiting of light speed. You can walk right up to your ship to enter it. It will load for about 2 seconds, and you can then walk up to the pilot seat at and sit down to initiate take off.

To me, all that's pretty cool and immersive

The loading screens are so brief as to almost not exist, so you'd also almost wonder if they couldn't pre load as you approach the ship so you could climb in and enter.

Either way I'm loving this so far and likely to sink hundred of hours in. It's even taken me away from BG3 for a few nights :p Highly recommended!

Starfield is a below average current gen game. This game barely runs at 30 FPS and you run into a loading screen every 20 seconds or so when you enter a building. Hardly no ship flying and Bethesda decided to use space instead as an extended load screen. The graphics are subpar, kind of looks like a XBox One game and I have noticed quite a lot of pop ins especially in the planet Neon.Starfield is a below average current gen game. The gun play is alright, but nothing I haven't seen before and sometimes enemies magically spawn right in front of you. This game gave me the urge to play No Man's Sky again, so I downloaded it, and let me tell you that's a great game compared to this. Expand

exciting title, I honestly don't understand those who complain, probably because they don't own the console, or from hearsay to support Sony, in any case this is a title that must be experienced. The more you play it the more you like it, if you are expecting a shooter game, you are completely wrong.

Many casual gamers buy and don't even know what they're buying, it's not Bethesda's

It's a big game, but starts way too slowly, and may never get interesting.

It is true that you'll find a good number of barren wastelands with little to do other than extracting some resources and take off to more interesting places, but again it really depends on how you want to play. There's so much to do, so many systems and abilities to explore, missions to complete, spaceships to loot, and species to catalogue, that I honestly don't think there's anybody who thinks that exploring every square meter of this universe is the better way to enjoy Starfield.

While it has weak spots and doesn’t push many boundaries, Starfield is still an excellent RPG experience. Bethesda has once again mastered the things it built its reputation on – world building, quest design, and deep customization. However, it’s found new things to excel at too, with exciting combat and a novel implementation of New Game Plus.
