Feb 4, 2026It took me roughly 9 hours to uncover the truth of I Hate This Place. The story, aesthetics, sound design (minus the VA), and combat were awesome. In fact, everything apart from the crafting was fantastic, making I Hate This Place well worth your time. Just don’t expect too much from the crafting and farm management elements.

But when the core mechanics (such as combat, stealth, or resource management) are not properly tuned, the whole experience suffers. A survival game with personality that fails to make the most of its potential. Recommended only for die-hard fans of the genre or of the original comic.

Feb 10, 2026I Hate This Place is a decent craft-based survival horror, but it doesn’t truly excel in anything. It’s such a mediocre game overall that isn’t worth its asking price. There is a lot of potential in the game, but it just needs more in many areas. The way it is, the game looks way better than it plays. I Hate This Place is not a bad game, but in the end, it comes across as very “meh”.
