Dec 19, 2024For fans of Final Fantasy, FANTASIAN Neo Dimension is a no-brainer. But for those not as well versed in JRPGs, this is still a fantastic introduction. It has all the great hallmarks, along with a few cool unique features.

Dec 20, 2024Fantasian Neo Dimension is the Mistwalker's return to consoles with an enhanced version of a special work, meticulously crafted in its visuals. Don't expect the best story in Japanese role-playing games, but it is a very fun video game with a combat system that evolves as the adventure progresses. A must-play if you're a fan of Enix and Squaresoft video games from the late decade.

Dec 4, 2024It may not be nearly as culturally seismic as Final Fantasy, but Fantasian Neo Dimension is proof positive that Hironobu Sakaguchi is an RPG maestro – it's another memorable tale that deals with big themes and neat systems, and its arrival on consoles is more than welcome.

Dec 4, 2024After playing Neo Dimension, it’s easy to see why fans have been so eager to see Fantasian break out of Apple Arcade. Its unique spin on a turn-based battle system was engaging on a mobile device, and its stunning dioramic visuals made its colors pop out of the screen. Despite some bumpy character and story developments, Fantasian Neo Dimension solves a bit of the original’s fragmented story while also giving it new life on it on other platforms with additional features.

Jan 7, 2025Going against the grain of everything the industry preaches in 2024, Mistwalker offers a JRPG that doesn't try to impress players with its graphics, yet manages to be technically impressive. Rather than using a story that focuses on social issues to make itself look engaging, the game has opted for a return to the roots of fantasy. Some may criticise its clichéd characters, but where FFVII Remake chose to drown itself in pseudo-philosophical considerations and a multiverse that made it lose all dramatic stakes, Fantasian Neo Dimension uses its own to offer players a deep and moving story, as well as a reflection on mourning so dear to Sakaguchi. It's a great lesson in humility for other studios, and a real joy to play with.
