Exo-Calibre delivers some charm with a squadron of anime-styled pilots, but it makes no contributions to the shoot-’em-up playbook. This is serviceable and safe STG that borrows more than it builds. Vampixel’s latest might be fun for a play or two but its forgettable in the long haul.

If you are determined to play a vertically scrolling shooter, then Exo-Calibre may scratch an itch for a little while. But don’t expect to get too excited by what it delivers. There’s no way this is awful, but Exo-Calibre does commit the cardinal sin for a game - it is just a bit boring.
