    A wonderful game. It's engaging and requires a different level of active participation. There's very little hand holding. You will miss items. You will miss missions. You'll be expected to make your own way through the game. If you're not okay with that, feel free to use a guide. If guides aren't your thing either then maybe play something else.

    When you see many pozitive and many negatives that means something is wrong about some reviews, or people loves or or they don't. This game is the best that I ever played, the problem I quess is that players buy it and don't know what to expect from it, it is a hard game no joke, and if you play on pc is even harder until you understand the control scheme.     This game is awesome a must play. Very long map can play different classes that suits you. I played astrologer my first playthrough. Bosses are fun and addictive to beat.

    This game is just beautiful in every aspect. I have been pre-ordering every title made by from soft from Sekiro til now and this one was worth its full price. Plus the Xbox Series S is handling this game also with just as much sheer finesse as every other demanding title. This is truly something different to the taboo open-world recipe being used nowadays by most other developers. IfThis game is just beautiful in every aspect.     This game is absolutely gorgeous. If you need any help with it, there are tons of great guides and walkthroughs for it. It is HARD! It is also wonderfully balanced, and a truly open world game. Boss too hard? Go somewhere else and get stronger and better. Seriously, just turn and run. No questions asked. If you pay attention to the small details, it can make the game so much easier.     This game has changed a little about the fromsoftware games. Still difficult as all hell of course but gameplay is still amazing especially with a dedicated jump button. Hey David Gaffey. . . That video you made is kinda ridiculous. This game didn't have too many bugs plus I play it on my ps5. This game runs better on the ps5 then any other console.     It’s been so hard, but the game does not feel doll it’s amazing. At the beginning without any Souls experience I got frustrated but with YouTube help I found my way into the tarnish world. Love it

    This is possibly the best game I have ever played. The open world feels so exciting all the time. Compared to the standard Ubisoft game, which boasts a huge map, despite the fact that travelling is tedious and time consuming, elden ring’s world properly encourages exploration by rewarding the player no matter what direction they explore. In my opinion, the best thing about the game is the fact that it truly lets you do whatever the hell you want to. In previous fromsoft titles, new areas were completely locked behind a major boss fight, whereas in elden ring, you can find your way around just about everything if you look hard enough. Fromsoftware uses this feature in a super creative way by adding teleporting devices and even trap chests, which teleport the player to a high level area which the player can either choose to warp back home or explore this dangerous area for very valuable loot.
    It’s a shame people are trying to tarnish (get it) it’s reputation simply because they think they deserve for the game to be made exactly their way    … Expand

I’ve rescued the Milky way from fearsome reapers, liberated the nuclear wasteland, stolen thousands of cars, liberated tropical islands, won countless Stanley cups and to boot l, a few world cups. I’ve planned and built cities and I’ve protected man kind in the name if our God emperor! Ive played over 200 hours of Elden ring on my Series X , not nearly as many as I’ve spent on Dark souls one, two or three. But i predict this game will be one of the greats. One of those you keep coming back to. I truly have loved every moment of it. The open world keeps distracting you, leading you astray from your true quest. Visually stunning vistas and alluring lore that keeps you hooked on lorevids on Youtube is accompanied by stellar fighting mechanics and that ever present feeling of joy and fear at the same time. You know the one, where you never know whats next on the epic journey. Bossfights in line with what we’ve come to expect when it comes to FROM, secret and rare items, dragons, fire, magic, stellar soundtrack and of course..Patches!
    This game has earned a spot in my all time top ten of games. It is a few patches from top five. (Software updates, that is ;). )
    Never wrote a review before.. This seemed like a good time to start!

It adds to the experience honestly of this awesome lord of the rings like universe, when you kill a boss (most) you feel like you earned it. Npc reactions to your feats fell more real. I mean your fighting dragons and all other kind of monsters and semi god beings.     As someone who is a major fan of Elder Scrolls and Soulsborne games I can say this will forever be my favorite game. It combines nice calm exploration of medieval ruins in a beautiful landscape with the hard and intense battle we love from FromSoftware. The combat is smooth the attention to detail is amazing as always. Basically it's a nerds dream! Please play this XD

    Really did not expect such a brutal learning curve. Overall 10's. I'm on board the souls train all day.     this game is honestly the game i’ve been waiting for for years, i had no idea about it until a week before it was released idk how i missed out all the information on it but when i found it i was highly intrigued and now that i’m playing the game and am getting into late game ive fallen in love it is the best game i have ever played hands down

Because sometimes (most times) you'll find yourself needing that extra hand to help defeat a boss or dungeon. No friends to play eith? No worries elden rings also gives you thr ability early on to summon spirits to your side to help you fight and defeat enemies as well as summon random players from other worlds into yours to help, along with you being summoned to theirs if wanted. In all this game really dies have it all. And will leave you wondering what's next throughout as you rise your steed around slashing or using magical abilities to decimate hordes of enemies.… Expand

Más de lo que esperaba , para una compañia que no había hecho antes un juego de mundo abierto como esté, un juego completo sin necesidad de DLC's, un juego que le quita lo lineal y te recompensa por explorar , sin caer en hacerte un dios simplemente por dónde vayas (te da lo que es, eres nadie aspirando a serlo todo). Siendo objetivo el único problema que siento en el juego son temas técnicos, en dónde algún Big visual afecta sin embargo ya he pasado por parches y a la perfección.… Expand

    This game is not for people who want their hands held, or are hell bent on a linear game play style.     1st review I write here, 1st souls game. This has to be a 10. Even if its not your style of game one has to admire the sheer scope and game design. Finally a recent game respecting your intelligence and time. No bloat, no railed experiences, 70h in and still hungry! Performance would make it a 9.5 but I’m countering the 0s, PLEASE don’t let those reviews fool you, this game is special

    I really love this game, the way it tells its story, the bosses design, the only thing I don’t like so much it’s the necessity to spend a lot of time to be able to have a good level to defeat a boos at the beginning of the game, but I know this is how you play a Souls game, so it’s fine!

    Fantastic game. Brutal at times but absolute the best game of the last 3 years and the best RPG I've ever played. Not to be confused with Skyrim - far more rewarding and much better combat at the cost of serious difficulty increase. One complaint - it could use in-depth tutorial for newcomers.

    Difficulty perferction. Organic and not a arbitrary "easy/normal/hard" or "Give me just the story/journalist mode" before the game even begins. Amazing artstyle, combat, traversal, atmosphere, direction, soumdtrack, quest design, story, ending/s, bossfights and, as always, level design. Truly their most thought-out work.

    I was not a Dark Souls fan at all. In fact, I hated all the snobish souls culture. But this game just caught me like probably no game except for Skyrim or New Vegas 10 years ago. It is one of the best gaming experiences I had in my life.

    This was my first dark souls type game and its amazing. I love this game. The hype in this game is understandable. Its very beginner friendly if you have a brain. There are a few issues with frames but its never been a big problem personally.

    I was initially a bit intimidated into the onboarding of this game (from attempting a souls game) but got sucked in from the high scores on reviews. I felt like by NOT playing this, I would possibly be missing out on a game of the year candidate. The game is absolutely deserving of it's high marks and I'm blown away about how much I actually enjoy this game.

    The first couple of hours    I was initially a bit intimidated into the onboarding of this game (from attempting a souls game) but got sucked in from the high scores on reviews. I felt like by NOT playing this, I would possibly be missing out on a game of the year candidate. The game is absolutely deserving of it's high marks and I'm blown away about how much I actually enjoy this game.

    The first couple of hours were a bit daunting and I started to wonder what I got my self into. It felt like "Well here comes another game I shouldn't have bought". But I pushed through to learn the mechanics and how the game wanted me to play and at this point, every time I turn on the Series X, its the first thing I click on. The world is highly satisfying to explore. The graphics look great on an OLED (Not sure what others have issues with, it definitely looks like a next gen game). The game is challenging which isn't easy to come by these days, but remains rewarding. The gear/progression system is addicting and I believe the game has very long legs as something you play off and on for the entire year.

    I'm a shooter/sports/sometimes RPG fan. This game should not be in my wheelhouse. But the hooks are in deep and at this point I couldn't be happier I decided to check this out. FromSoftware is now a "must check out" their new game developer for me alongside studios like Bethesda.

    Do yourself a favor, stop contimplating it. Stop getting stuck on people throwing hate because they don't enjoy the challenge. It's a game that doesn't hold your hand and that's rare right now and should be praised. We come to video games for escape and emergence. It's here....it's Elden Ring.    … Expand

    This easily became top 3 of my favorites games, the absolutely phenomenal story, the insane boss fights, good, fluid, controls. FromSoft put an absolute **** load of work into it, and you can tell. Absolutely perfect, one of the only games I've 100%. 10/10 will be playing through again.

The story itself is interesting and captivating, perhaps the best in the entire series. Now for the npcs and side quests. Almost every npc character in this game has a quest line. These are almost always amazing and generate a connection between the npc and the player. The problem of finding the npc in a hidden location is mostly gone now that a character marker has been added, although not completely. Finally, the cinematic and fantastic boss fights. My favorite part of all the souls games have always been the boss fights, duels with mythical knights and gigantic beasts are almost always done so well in the souls series. Elden Ring is no exception. So many bosses in this game are amazing! These aspects of the game add up to elden ring being a masterpiece. However, it's not perfect, nowhere near it.… Expand

    Love this game! Ultimate souls game with INSANE beautiful world full of new stuff to explore and find out all by yourself! Game has multiple mechanics u can try its just there its letting u do it how u want to defeat it and has like 6 endings u can do by your actions/quests/idk am still finding out :D. I played like 200hrs till i defeated it but still i have a lot to explore so. If u wantLove this game!     As somebody new to the souls games i wasn't sure what to expect from Elden Ring but it absolutely blew me away from the story to the combat and world design. In my opinion 10/10 may not even do the game justice.

    Elden Ring is a great game in my opion yeah it has his flaws, but for me the world-building and enemy-placement is so good on its on what it makes up for all the little flaws and stuff like what and what where only 2 points of so many. And no where is no need for an easy mode at all, you can explore from the beginning on other areas and loot them or just use summons :)

    One of the best Games i have ever played. Great mechanices, huge beautiful openworld, good Story with much details. Very hard and complex, but funny playstile with a lot of different weapons to Play.

This game is quite difficult but it rarely becomes grindy and repetitive. This has all the intensity and frustration of a souls game with a level of immersion that would make Bethesda blush.     First FromSoftware game that I’ve ever played. Also the first video game played at all since 2012. Very satisfying to complete the first time and still satisfying to continue playing. I have played through the game 5 times now and strongly recommend it to newcomers and RPG fans.

    It always seems like some of the greatest games I have ever played always sneak up on me. I've played all 3 Dark Souls games, and while I liked them, I never really considered myself a fan.     Elden Ring is functionally the same as any of the Dark Souls games, albeit with From Software's approach on an open world. I was curious going in how the very clever world and level design from previous games would be affected by this, and I'm happy to say they nailed it. The open parts of the map are filled with areas that naturally peak curiosity and reward it with interesting events, good environmental story telling, or sometimes even just a beautiful vista. Pair that with more sectioned off areas that have a more traditional From Software level design and you have what, in my opinion, is the best of both worlds. Combat, like the Dark Souls games is solid, and while it may seem difficult at first, this game is better than it's predecessors at easing you into it. Leveling up and character building is a little obtuse like the other games, with little to guide you aside from finding a weapon you think is neat, but I feel like figuring things out like that is a bit of the fun in these types of games.

    That being said, as great a game as it is, nothing is without criticism. However in the grand scheme of what this game has to offer, I would say this is more nitpicking than anything. First of all, as with all From Software game I have played thus far, the multiplayer still feels a little obtuse and at times confusing to use. Myself and a lot of my friends were at different points in the story at different times, and not knowing where and where they could not be summoned in a world as open and with as much stuff to do as this one was frustrating. I didn't realize until 60 hours in that you can't summon someone in an area that you have already defeated the boss in, why not? Second is more a personal gripe than it is anything, but I played an Int/Dex build (original I know). My other friends that played with Arcane and Wisdom builds were throwing fire from their hands, summoning dragon heads to breathe damaging elements at things, and summoning lighting to smite their enemies. Meanwhile with my intelligence build I had... 10 different types of the same glintstone shard to fire. I ended up liking my build don't get me wrong, but I wish that intelligence builds had the same variety. Lastly, I wish that the smaller dungeons that veered off in the open world sections had a little bit more variety. I liked the ones I did, but by the last bit of the game I just stopped doing them all together because by that point I had my fill of caves, mines, and crypts.

    All in all, Elden Ring is phenomenal. Easily one of the best action rpgs I have ever played.    … Expand

    Elden Ring is easily 2022's GOTY. Open world, massive content, tons of items, perfectly balanced gameplay. The only letdown is the graphics, and some nasty performance issues nevertheless I have enjoyed playing the game 360 hours in, and still going strong.

    It's surely is one of the best games in the last 10+ years. Amazing music, story, combat, and lore. I 1000/1000 it because it was so fun. Very rarely would I say a game is perfect, but it pretty much is.

    So much to do, so many secrets to find, so many giant weapons to swing at so many giant enemies. Best Fromsoft game yet. I wish more current game developers would rip a page out of Fromsoft's book because no game i can think of in the last few years even compare. 2022 game of the year hand down, possibly game of the decade.

In my entire Elden Ring experience the game only stuttered a few times when certain open world weather effects were active. I imagine that this wouldn’t be a problem on current Gen, and even so it wasn’t inconvenient enough to take away from what I’d consider to be a perfect game.    … Expand

    Despite some annoying performance issues, Elden Ring is a masterpiece. The combat, enemy variety, exploration, music, and open world are top notch. I’ve been playing it daily across all platforms alongside other games all month, and look forward to doing that all year as I try new builds, help friends, and try to do everything I want in this triumph of a video game.

    Elden Ring rewards your curiosity in many ways, be it items, runes or a pathway to another area, but mostly it’s a story to tell your friends when you are sharing tales around the bonfire. It does not force feed tutorials down your throat, but instead it leans far the opposite way by not telling you much at all and lets you explore and find things out on your own. There is no true quest log, no points of interest on a map or no arrows pointing you in the right direction, so there is a good chance you’ll miss some of the best caves and areas of the game. Because of all of this, Elden Ring is forcing me to find all of that out on my own and it is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played. I will continue to explore the Land Between for many hours to come. I’m just not in a hurry.

    Elden Ring manages to draw the player into a fascinating world for many hours, with refined gameplay that fits perfectly with the freedom granted to the player. A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.
