    This game is incredibly addictive. I give my highest possible recommendation. So much fun. The open world is so expansive and riddled with secrets, it's insane.

    First FromSoftware game that I’ve ever played. Also the first video game played at all since 2012. Very satisfying to complete the first time and still satisfying to continue playing. I have played through the game 5 times now and strongly recommend it to newcomers and RPG fans.

    It always seems like some of the greatest games I have ever played always sneak up on me. I've played all 3 Dark Souls games, and while I liked them, I never really considered myself a fan. I knew that this game was on the horizon for a while, but my excitement for it didn't begin until about a week before it dropped, and when it did it was like the worlds worst itch meeting aIt always seems like some of the greatest games I have ever played always sneak up on me.     Elden Ring is functionally the same as any of the Dark Souls games, albeit with From Software's approach on an open world. I was curious going in how the very clever world and level design from previous games would be affected by this, and I'm happy to say they nailed it. The open parts of the map are filled with areas that naturally peak curiosity and reward it with interesting events, good environmental story telling, or sometimes even just a beautiful vista. Pair that with more sectioned off areas that have a more traditional From Software level design and you have what, in my opinion, is the best of both worlds. Combat, like the Dark Souls games is solid, and while it may seem difficult at first, this game is better than it's predecessors at easing you into it. Leveling up and character building is a little obtuse like the other games, with little to guide you aside from finding a weapon you think is neat, but I feel like figuring things out like that is a bit of the fun in these types of games.

    That being said, as great a game as it is, nothing is without criticism. However in the grand scheme of what this game has to offer, I would say this is more nitpicking than anything. First of all, as with all From Software game I have played thus far, the multiplayer still feels a little obtuse and at times confusing to use. Myself and a lot of my friends were at different points in the story at different times, and not knowing where and where they could not be summoned in a world as open and with as much stuff to do as this one was frustrating. I didn't realize until 60 hours in that you can't summon someone in an area that you have already defeated the boss in, why not? Second is more a personal gripe than it is anything, but I played an Int/Dex build (original I know). My other friends that played with Arcane and Wisdom builds were throwing fire from their hands, summoning dragon heads to breathe damaging elements at things, and summoning lighting to smite their enemies. Meanwhile with my intelligence build I had... 10 different types of the same glintstone shard to fire. I ended up liking my build don't get me wrong, but I wish that intelligence builds had the same variety. Lastly, I wish that the smaller dungeons that veered off in the open world sections had a little bit more variety. I liked the ones I did, but by the last bit of the game I just stopped doing them all together because by that point I had my fill of caves, mines, and crypts.

    All in all, Elden Ring is phenomenal. Easily one of the best action rpgs I have ever played.    … Expand

    This might be my favorite game of all time. It is a breath of fresh air from the other souls-like games. The beauty of Elden ring is that there are a million different ways to play it. If you ever get stuck on one boss, you can do 10 other things and come back when you're stronger.

    Not to mention that visually this game is stunning. Some of the views were truly amazing. 10/10 could    This might be my favorite game of all time.     First 10h of gameplay, I made a conclusion that I have to make fun by myself, but after I spend some time to find something interesting I understood that even to me who can't stand the "make fun by myself" games It was so exciting. The most interesting part of this game, starting like at lvl 40 and ending at the finish.

The artistic, design, sound, exploration, immersion, combat, lore, enemy/area/boss/weapon/spell variety and size of the world are literally off the charts.After fully completing the game and putting in 140 hours, I think the critics nailed it, this game really is an open world masterpiece which is guaranteed to influence open world rpgs and maybe even open world shooters moving forward.     This is the first soulsborne game that I have ever played and it's probably one of my most favorite games. Although after getting all the endings, getting all achievements, and also completing all dungeons, there's not really much that I want to do. Other people probably just try out different builds or do challenges or something like that but I just don't really want to do that.     Elden Ring is easily 2022's GOTY. Open world, massive content, tons of items, perfectly balanced gameplay. The only letdown is the graphics, and some nasty performance issues nevertheless I have enjoyed playing the game 360 hours in, and still going strong.

    So much to do, so many secrets to find, so many giant weapons to swing at so many giant enemies. Best Fromsoft game yet. I wish more current game developers would rip a page out of Fromsoft's book because no game i can think of in the last few years even compare. 2022 game of the year hand down, possibly game of the decade.

There are an absurd amount of weapons, talismans, sorceries, and incantations to be found; and just as many unique variants of said gear that feel different.

    I played Elden Ring on my Xbox One S and the graphics absolutely still hold up a generation behind. In my entire Elden Ring experience the game only stuttered a few times when certain open world weather effects were active. I imagine that this wouldn’t be a problem on current Gen, and even so it wasn’t inconvenient enough to take away from what I’d consider to be a perfect game.    … Expand

    Sin embargo hasta el final no deja de maravillarte. Si de a poco logras ir siguiendo la historia, si ademas buscas afuera, en youtube o el canal que mas te guste, el entendimiento del mundo, si te aferras a ciertas Questlines y las llevas hasta el final, es maravilloso desde el punto narrativo.
    La inmersion que se encuentra a traves del arte y la musica es increible.
    El combate por supuesto es desafiante, y el agregado de las invocaciones lo hace mucho mas accesible que sus predecesores.
    El juego en si a veces se ameseta pero en sus picos mas altos es una OBRA MAESTRA SOBRESALIENTE.
    Jugandolo tranqui tarde 8 meses en terminarlo mas o menos. Podes dejar y volver a las Tierras intermedias si estas cansado. Es por este ritmo que aunque sea un juego CARO... me parece super rentable por la cantidad de horas que se le puede dedicar sin inferir en conseguir todos los logros o probar diferentes runs con diferentes builds inclusive.

    Amazing game! This is my first soul's like game and it slaps. Challenging yet fun, customization is great alot of different builds and bosses, its open world and plenty of quests. It kind of reminds me of dragons dogma in a way, Good job fromsoftware.

    Elden Ring is honestly a masterpiece of a game. I was quite hesitant on the SoulsBorne series but after playing this game for the first time I was blown away. I honestly regret not trying it sooner. From Graphics to gameplay, this game is a play everyone should play once. I understand that the difficulty is a turn off for a lot of people but the feeling of beating a boss is one of theElden Ring is honestly a masterpiece of a game. I was quite hesitant on the SoulsBorne series but after playing this game for the first time I was blown away. I honestly regret not trying it sooner. From Graphics to gameplay, this game is a play everyone should play once. I understand that the difficulty is a turn off for a lot of people but the feeling of beating a boss is one of the greatest feelings I've ever had. The lands between is such an amazing open world map, the fact that everything you can see everything in the distance is really there is baffling, a lot of games simply put a jpg in the background and call it a day but in Elden Ring you can go to anything you see. FromSoftware seriously out-did themselves with this and I cant recommend it enough. Please go play this game.… Expand

    This game had it all. This is literally the dark souls version of breath of the wild. Bosses and all enemies are very well designed. Open world is a masterpiece and there is literally something to do everywhere. The variety of weapons, spells and items to use was very impressive and it kept the game addictive and replay-able as there was so many ways to beat and explore the game.

Another amazing part of the game is Volcano manor- a masterpiece of a side dungeon that has many ways to reach the final boss- the final boss is also amazing as Rykrad is an incredibly fun and cinematic boss fight. The dungeon level designs are mostly perfect as they are not too linear and they give you many things to do in them. Overall a masterpiece of a game.    … Expand

    The first time you overlook Liurnia is breathtaking. ER is possibly more beautiful than Witcher 3 and Horizon: Zero Dawn, and definitely on par with RDR2.

You never know what to expect in the world, what abominations await you around ever corner.

    Even better are the Shard Bearer boss battles each in their own region, theme and each with meticulously designed move sets to be just difficult enough to be near impossible at certain levels, but still doable. Exploration is key in this world as it can award you a plethora of unique weapons, magics and summons that can help aid you in these colossal fights with the demi-human giants.

    Gameplay honestly could do with a little tweaking, the lock on system is a little dodgy at times. It isn't bad enough to warrant any kind of negative score for though just a bit of criticism. The starting area is also a little difficult if you aren't familiar with the way the levelling system works. Some items can be scarce at the beginning, but with patience and time you will build up your arsenal slowly and progressively quicker as the game goes on.

    If you are willing to pour dozens of hours into the game you get a fantastic experience, but you have to understand what it is you're getting into, you will die - A LOT - but that gives you the experience you need to progress further into the game. Don't give up, keep trying or come back to that area at a later time with better gear and a new strategy.

    Now, this game isn’t perfect. To start off with there is numerous repeated boss fight’s, and the dungeons are really, in most instances, underwhelming.     I originally gave this game a negative review on Steam as I found that the lack of direction really hurt the games flow. I still hold that sentiment about Elden Ring.
    I don't expect the game to give me a guided tour or arrows on the hud to tell me where exactly where to go, but at times I was wandering into zones I clearly shouldn't be in, undergeared, not high enough level and still on    I originally gave this game a negative review on Steam as I found that the lack of direction really hurt the games flow.     Recently I picked this back up and followed a guide, yes I know what a scrub, but I thought that if I can get a rough guide on what weapons are where, and how I should reasonbly progress, I will then get along with this game. Sure enough, I fell in love.

    Now is this game perfect? No. Is it loyal to it's core audience? Absolutely. If Demon or Dark Souls are something you enjoyed or even love-hated for it's punish factor, you will adore this game.

    The amount of times I just took a minute to appreciate the glorious views is countless, yes even dreary Caelid. Once you get into the swing of things you really can't put the game down, it envelopes you with it's "push on" layout.

    So after clearly with a bit of a guide, I will replay this for sure, might make a meme build or even the Holiest build, Jesus Himself.    … Expand

It goes further to add its own unique characteristic’s providing the player with a large and varied toolset allowing for a wide choice of play-styles. It’s more subtle take on quests is impactful and requires actively engaging with games story in a way many games never come close to accomplishing.     My first Souls-like / Fromsoftware game and one of the best video game experience I've ever had. This game is fantastic. I've played 150 hours of it (up to NG+2) and never felt bored. It's challenging but rewarding. Beautiful and well paced. Can't wait for the DLC...

    My only regret is that I was playing it while I was waiting for Starfield launch and now I'm in a void... I'm considering    My first Souls-like / Fromsoftware game and one of the best video game experience I've ever had. This game is fantastic.     Despite some annoying performance issues, Elden Ring is a masterpiece. The combat, enemy variety, exploration, music, and open world are top notch. I’ve been playing it daily across all platforms alongside other games all month, and look forward to doing that all year as I try new builds, help friends, and try to do everything I want in this triumph of a video game.

    Elden Ring rewards your curiosity in many ways, be it items, runes or a pathway to another area, but mostly it’s a story to tell your friends when you are sharing tales around the bonfire. It does not force feed tutorials down your throat, but instead it leans far the opposite way by not telling you much at all and lets you explore and find things out on your own. There is no true quest log, no points of interest on a map or no arrows pointing you in the right direction, so there is a good chance you’ll miss some of the best caves and areas of the game. Because of all of this, Elden Ring is forcing me to find all of that out on my own and it is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played. I will continue to explore the Land Between for many hours to come. I’m just not in a hurry.

    Elden Ring manages to draw the player into a fascinating world for many hours, with refined gameplay that fits perfectly with the freedom granted to the player. A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.
