So set forth, and test you skill, as well as your patience! Expand

Series X is more powerful than ps5...it should be easily 1800p-4K locked 60fps..the loading the same as Xbox one ...Japanese devs forget to coding the game on XSX|S and use the speed of HDD instead of the next gen SSD ...its really awful optimization for great game ...how the hell make the loading the same on Xbox one and Xbox Series... I tried both and its the same ..that's why ps5 has faster loading times because the devs forget to use the high speed of XS SSD and used the low speed of Xbox one HDD..
Update after months:They fix the loading times and the performance increased ..
As i said its just bad optimization..

The last time I gave a game a perfect score, was Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I had only play Sekiro, and struggled with it. Now I want to go back and apply, what I have learned. Eldon Ring has an Open World rivaled by by Red Dead 2. The game’s world gives you time to level up and hone your skills, before progressing on with the Story.

Love the kind of story in these games where you have to find it in items and piece it together yourself, it's like the opposite of an exposition dump. Really love trying to piece together and figure out the lore, which is what i like about all of from's games.

With that out of the way, I would like to say that Elden Ring is simply incredible. I have not experienced a newly released RPG that has enthralled me this much with its world and gameplay since Fallout 4 - back in 2015. The diversity in builds and play styles, the humongous amount of interesting dungeons and environments, the plentiful and awesome loot, and of course the difficult but very fun to fight enemies and bosses - all of these elements are done very, very well in Elden Ring. There are some technical problems here and there, mainly with the frame rate and some controller delay - but this will not destroy the awesome experience. As a send off I want to say this, Elden Ring is not short and it does not hold your hand, this could seem overwhelming to some gamers, but I want to say that Elden Ring hardly ever felt like a chore. While Elden Ring is a long game, it's so open and has so much in it that I hardly felt like I was spending too much time playing it. Even if you are crunched for time from work or school, I still would highly recommend trying out this awesome game. Expand

    A little Sneak:
    gameplay

    The heart at the end.

    a) Territories

I could rave all day about the diversity of the individual areas. There is so much to explore. Caelid, decomposed by rot, Limgrave as an open landscape with many castles and towers, Liurnia with a grandiose academy or the beautiful city of Leyndell. This is just part of the many areas to explore. The areas are a big part of the incessantly generating motivation.

It's unbelievable that Fromsoft managed to establish their level structure, the clear recognition value even in an open world that is so big. Despite the new world, you always feel at home and always try to compare some sections, places, etc. with previous parts or are reminded of them.

The drawn map is a dream. You don't have question marks everywhere, but prominent spots on the map where you decide for yourself: something could be there. From the drawing, there could be something there. Most of the time you are simply rewarded for your curiosity and basically get useful things.

Secret doors, at some point there are a lot of them, are simply part of it and I like this uncertainty that you always have at Fromsoft because you don't want to miss anything. You can always find something somewhere, whether it's backtracking or unlocking a shortcut. The top of it is that in the last few hours I've discovered so many more areas and because of that I've been able to kill a lot of bosses. Not only the boss kill but also finding an area gives you so much joy at Fromsoft.

    b) bosses

Big or small, optional or story boss, I thought so many were terrific. Radahn, Malenia, just to name two really great fights, show what boss gameplay can do. I especially liked Malenia, who couldn't supplant my favorite boss, Sister Friede. Although it is now the undisputed boss with the most tries for me, that never spoiled the fight for me.

I also liked the multitude of optional bosses. But the recycling bothered me a bit, especially e.g. the black cavalry riders, who were always ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL, was much too easy for me. The bosses, which then turn into trash mobs, are terrific and typically fromsoft, and they often made me sweat.

The game is also getting more and more difficult, especially the last three areas are really tough. The game also gives you various options to act with different bosses (e.g. Mohg).

Ultimately, the fat bosses also give you armor or weapons, and here too you have to make decisions and choose carefully.

    c) fight

Whether magician, two-handed warrior or double katana samurai. There is so much possibility to change your character in Elden Ring, even during the game. I played with katanas for a long time, but also tried different weapons again and again. Later I even trained in faith and prepared myself with invocations before every fight. Halberds, fist weapons, daggers, swords, shields, bows, whips and much more. The Elden Ring arsenal is vast and only a small part of the greater whole. All weapons can be enhanced in various ways. Frost & Bleed? YES. Fire? YES flash? YES. Elden Ring gives you a kit and you can totally lose yourself in it in a positive way.

Talismans replace the rings and only expand the hero's repertoire even more. There are also consumables and a crafting system. Especially the crafting shows Fromsoft's strength: If you read through here, if you look for the books together, then you will be given really important and good opportunities to strengthen your character. Gathering resources was never annoying, just well integrated. Each resource has its own look and at some point you also know what the item is that you collected there. It's not one size fits all, it doesn't all look the same.

In addition to the possibility of PvE co-op NPCs or online partners, you can also summon different spirits. A great feature, but I only used it more often when clearing warehouses. For almost all bosses I personally left them out. Among them there are also really cool items with great figures.

I finally used PvP and co-op a lot. I've helped people with Mohg so much because there were just so many runes for it, which gave me the opportunity to buy a lot of crafting stones to try out more weapons. PvP went much better than in the other parts (fewer lagging opponents) but there are already a lot of brutally strong meta builds here.

I played with bleeding a lot.

    Conclusion

10/10 ELDEN LORDS. I love the game and it has climbed the Fromsoft throne for me. My beloved Dark Souls III has been supplanted and in my eyes it deserves Elden Ring. I had 107 hours (+15 with my magician) of constant fun, going through a lot of emotions and just a really good experience.

does a good job as a exploration game, but:
    - savegame bugs took like 10h of effort, boss killing and farming and weapon and material grinding from me. how does a souls game fail at saving, the previous parts were saving at every opportunity. thats the biggest minus from me
    - the game has no clear red line, hugeass open world and no clear directions, cryptic introductions ruins the fun

    - the game has no clear red line, hugeass open world and no clear directions, cryptic introductions ruins the fun and drag the story longer the wrong way
    - progression is superslow, if you struggle with your current stats against enemies, you will struggle more in the upcoming regions. monsters get superhard, runes (exp) and smithing materials are very scarce, i wasnt able to get my weapons past +4 after 50h of gameplay. so i used the rapier +8 which you get as a gift after beating some mainstory boss.
-great runes are a great idea but a greater dissapointment. why do we have to use rune arcs to buff them up? i found in all myhours so far 4-5 rune arcs (similar to humanity and embers) in the open world and those expire once you die and you will probably die every 5 mins once.
    - effing dragons at some endgame location give 3,5k runes... and you need at lvl60 or so around 25k exp for a level up. and dragons would at that point one shot you with basic attacks. the game is super tough, i dont know why they went with that kind of progression design. this game is supposed to be a challenge, not a parkour and avoid monster simulation
    - the trap chests are a nice idea, but can lead anyone who plays without guides into desperation. i for my part hated that idea

    + great enemy variaty
    + great combat gameplay
    + great mounted combat
+ ashes of war and summon noble spirits are a awesome addition to the game
+ awesome looking bosses (which drop almost no usefull weapons or souls which can be turned into weapons)
+ fast travel is also an awesome addition to the game, from any point (except inside traps)
+ the exploration is also awesome, you can explore so many regions thanks to the jump button
+ some regions seriously looked dreamlike, which almost never was the case in any souls game . which mostly has gory stuff and locations

This game has one of the best worlds to explore I've ever seen in any game I have played; the visuals are spectacular and not one single inch feels wasted. One of my favorite things about this game is every weapon and spell looks cool but also feel viable to the point you can pretty much make any build you want. This game is the peak of From Software's design in Dark Souls in giving freedom to the players to play however they want. The fluid combat and the added ability to jump add to the great experience of fighting and exploring in this game. The games story like other soul's games is very obscure but also very rich if you are willing to look for it. The characters are mostly good, but I felt they could have done more with certain ones. Most main game bosses feel and look very cool and are fun to fight. Some people don't like the reuse of enemies throughout the game but overall, I think they did a good job of making them unique to the areas you fight them and the powers they use, making them feel like new enemies. Difficulty wise Elden Ring is probably the 2nd easiest soul's game with Dark Souls 2 being the easiest. With 85 deaths in Elden Ring total, 46 of which were due to Malenia leaving 39 from the rest of the game compared to, 38 deaths in Dark Souls 1, 55 deaths in Dark Souls 3, and 9 deaths in Dark souls 2 (DS2 just felt extremely easy). One problem I had was Malenia and her being able to use her waterfowl dance 5 times in the span of a 2 minutes using it every other attack, if I could change one thing, I would give that move a 60 second cool down after she uses it. Overall, Elden Ring has slight issues with difficulty balancing but they are so small that it doesn't change how amazing this game is. Expand

In terms of gameplay. Combat will be very familiar to anyone who has played the Souls games. The open world environment does little to change the overall gameplay arc and experience, and as such fans of the series will be very happy with the amount of content in the game. For me however, it was disappointing that so little has changed from previous games and it falls back on the same pattern learning and repetition as previous titles.

Not a bad game by any means, but you should ignore any 10/10 review.

The exploration is fun and big.
The art work and the graphics are awesome. Especially playing this on an Xbox Series S.
The storyline makes you want to play more.
And the best part, the rewards you get for defeating a boss, after being defeated over 100 times.

Yes there are some little frame drops here and there, to be honest I hardly notice them that much.
And yes the bosses are ridiculously difficult, but that is what to be expected from FromSoftware games. But they give you the option to always run away, level up and fight the bosses again.

This game easily is a 10/10 for me and I have to say it feels like the game of the year. Without a doubt this game is worth buying.

A good game with a high difficulty, although it has the same dark souls format he open world gives it a new feel however i can't help but to think that they couldn't make enough bosses and just ended up re using a lot of their bosses sometimes up to 5 times. The dungeons are fairly boring but necessary to progress a certain npc's quest line which you will want to do considering he gives you incantations(a form of spell). Despite the few crashes i have had it still runs really good, and as for the story the game follows dark souls usual cryptic path of giving you small bits and pieces that you yourself has to piece together. Although the horse is helpful it can be annoying to use because it's not exactly smooth and I have had a bit of an issue with getting of the horse because sometimes the game does not let you and other times you get stuck mid air and die. They do re use a few enemies and concepts from previous dark souls games like the crab, it's really up to you to decide if this is a nice callback/hint to the previous games or if its lazy. The npc's with decently long quest lines are fewer then i originally expected and with bad rewards at the end of there quests however that is my personal opinion, the weapons in this game are very different and a meta has already established in both in pve and pvp. in pve you can just spam scarlet rot on almost every single boss trivializing the game or just use magic because it does way to much damage. In pvp you want to power stance with fast weapons, use a heavy shield and armor or use the blood hounds curved great sword and spam the weapon art. This was my only negative experiences with the game, if all of this sounds fine to you i would highly suggest buying it even at full price

However... this is the epitome of the Fromsoft, Soulsborne formula and my favorite title from the studio. It's hard, yet fulfilling. The game supports a variety of playstyles and encourages exploration. And, while the graphics may not be cutting-edge, you would be hard pressed to find another game that makes such expert use of its resources to create a detailed, complex world and jaw-dropping scenery. There is no such thing as perfection but if I could score it 9.9 that would be more accurate.

After 160hrs in my first playthrough Elden Ring has become my favorite game ever, as for the performance issues that some of the reviews mention, I played the game on quality mode on Xbox series X without V-sync or any fancy monitors and I didn't notice any frame drops, to be fair I started

Visuals: 9.9/10 (not realistic but jaw dropping and with a few glitches)

Music and sound design: 10/10 (perfect balance between chilling exploration and intense masterpieces on boss battles)

Story: 9.0/10 (hard to put everything together but worth it with an amazing lore)

The open world: 10/10 (massive, rich with landmarks and filled with tons of challenging enemies and bosses)

Gameplay: 9.5/10 (The very best of past from software games with a ton of additions to improve it, but it's lacking an in game journal to remove the need of so many online guides)

A masterpiece that will undoubtedly become a classic for the ages and a must play for any serious gamer.

Despite some annoying performance issues, Elden Ring is a masterpiece. The combat, enemy variety, exploration, music, and open world are top notch. I’ve been playing it daily across all platforms alongside other games all month, and look forward to doing that all year as I try new builds, help friends, and try to do everything I want in this triumph of a video game.

Elden Ring rewards your curiosity in many ways, be it items, runes or a pathway to another area, but mostly it’s a story to tell your friends when you are sharing tales around the bonfire. It does not force feed tutorials down your throat, but instead it leans far the opposite way by not telling you much at all and lets you explore and find things out on your own. There is no true quest log, no points of interest on a map or no arrows pointing you in the right direction, so there is a good chance you’ll miss some of the best caves and areas of the game. Because of all of this, Elden Ring is forcing me to find all of that out on my own and it is one of the most rewarding games I have ever played. I will continue to explore the Land Between for many hours to come. I’m just not in a hurry.

Elden Ring manages to draw the player into a fascinating world for many hours, with refined gameplay that fits perfectly with the freedom granted to the player. A sumptuous but imperfect work, which fails to completely overcome some of the historical flaws of Hidetaka Miyazaki's productions. Flaws that, however, can't diminish the scope of a masterpiece destined to leave an indelible mark on the videogame world and to set new standards for the souls-like and open-world genres.
