Almost back to the Tiger Woods 2014 glory. Where is the Alternating online play? I don't want to see a ball line I want to see the full players' swing et al. Also this game is really hard to get used to again. After playing Golf Club offerings, it really ruined my skills for EA Golf. Also there is not an option to start a different Career. I cannot recommend the game in its current state.

Pros: + Fantastic job recreating all of these courses, very realistic, detailed, and beautiful. + Augusta National and St. Andrews Cons: - Career mode very buggy, visit EA's Answers (support) page and you'll see multiple complaints about career mode freezing, deleting itself, not properly completing a round, and more. I cannot recommend the game in its current state.

    Pros:
+ Fantastic job recreating all of these courses, very realistic, detailed, and beautiful.
+ Augusta National and St. Andrews

    Cons:
    - Career mode very buggy, visit EA's Answers (support) page and you'll see multiple complaints about career mode freezing, deleting itself, not properly completing a round, and more. These issues are happening on all platforms - Xbox, PS, and PC. I, myself, am experiencing this issue right now where it crashed at the end of the Amateur Championship and just keeps crashing any time I try to load into the next round.

    - Challenges and quests are also very buggy, frequently not registering completions.
    - 30 FPS with no performance mode.
    - Persistent online connection REQUIRED. Lose internet? EA Servers go down? No game for you.
    - Plastic player models with a VERY limited character creator.
    - Sluggish UI when trying to set up shots, choppy and sluggish swing mechanic.
    - An obscene amount of menus, all of which are very slow and cumbersome to navigate.
    - RPG elements wall off basic golf functions behind XP/Skill Point grinding.
    - In-Game customization store clearly built around selling microtransactions.
    - Putting is horrendous, especially the way the green grids and putt reads are laid out.
    - Sound bugs where the crowd or background noise just completely cut out and stay silent.

It really feels like EA spent all of their budget on their course creation team. There's no doubt all their fancy LIDAR course scanning and other technical achievements paid dividends on the course realism, but the rest of the game could have used some of that budgeting. After 8 years from the last EA golf outing, I truly expected better. Until it gets some patches to address the serious game breaking bugs and, hopefully, a patch that allows for 60fps play, save your money and stick with PGA2K. That game has its own bucket of issues but at least it's more consistent (and regularly cheaper).

Videogame golf is in an interesting position. After years of not seeing any new entries, users are suddenly presented with two big-budget PGA titles fighting for their time. EA Sports PGA Tour certainly delivers a thorough, authentic golf simulation, but it’s also a divisive one. On one hand, the visuals of golf have never been displayed with more realism. On the other, the unresponsive mechanics completely removed me from the experience, ultimately driving me back to the simpler, more-playable 2K PGA Tour 2K23.

EA Sports PGA Tour is a good comeback for virtual golf, but it's a live service game that still feels unfinished and occasionally clunky. It lacks the LPGA Tour and has a slow, glitchy interface with unintuitive elements. There are no tutorials or explanations for those unfamiliar with golf, but it's enjoyable for those who know the sport and will offer more over time.

EA Sports PGA Tour bring you to the field again after a long stand by, but now it’s time to come back to try to be the best Golf player around the world. With impressive physics and amazing modes to get fun and a bunch of content. The king of the Golf is back.
