Sure, Diablo 4 has its problems, but let's remember that the game has only been on the market for a month. Diablo 3 was realistically playable only after many months of patches and fixes. Path of Exile, which is considered a holy grail for some people, has been on the market for 10 years and still has its issues despite such a long time for the game's development. Season 1 hasn't even started, and there are already complaints about the endgame being lackluster. In my opinion, we need to give the developers time and credit.

As for the argument that it's a waste of money because you lose interest after completing the story, come on, people. The story alone provides dozens of hours of fun if someone doesn't rush through it and takes the time to explore the world. The game is worth the full price for the campaign alone, and the seasons, future updates, and expansions can make it the coolest HC game on the market.

The game was fantastic at first but recent patches have really tarnished my experience since I play sorcerer. It was a 10, but I’m changing to a 8 based on the recent changes. I just hope they make my class viable again soon.

Overall I really like the game. I'm happy it went back to a more Diablo I/II look and feel instead of doubling down on Diablo III. I feel like season 1 will be the only season I play, since restarting from scratch for only a tiny bit of new story really isn't for me. Additionally the cosmetics earned are kind of pointless when you only really get to see them in the load screens. I playOverall I really like the game. Diablo IV main quest line is excellent and the gameplay is very good. However, the endgame is very repetitive and not has fun yet, but Diablo 3 endgame really started to be fun after The Reaper of Souls expansion. So now I am waiting for the expansion.

For me personally, the level scaling and campaign which had so much boring walking/traveling from zone to zone is what has made me stop playing it. I would still rate it close to 6.5 or 7 though as objectively it is a good game. Just certain decisions don't mesh with me.

I'll give this game an 7.
Why? Because it is a massive game, that has so much more to reveal. Sure, it starts out slow. As does every game with new dynamics. Yes, it's still point, click, and button mashing.

The world is HUGE! D3 was really limited and somewhat straight line.
The graphics are top notch! Much more 'realistic' than cartoony D3.

However, it is VERY repetitive.... like EVERY GAME IN THIS GENRE.

One big negative is that you cannot choose your level of play. I really liked that I could increase my difficulty in D3. I also liked that I could decrease when my underpowered character just couldn't go any further.
------------------ I really don't like that the monsters level as soon as I do. ----------------------

D3 lasted 10 years. We may not see that with D4, but I imagine that future improvements, they will make the game even better.

With its rich lore, atmospheric world, and addictive gameplay, it is a worthy addition to the series. However, while the game excels in many aspects, it occasionally suffers from moments of sluggishness and monotony.

One of the standout features of Diablo IV is its captivating and dark fantasy setting. The game's art direction and visual design are masterfully executed, painting a grim and hauntingly beautiful world. From eerie dungeons to sprawling outdoor landscapes, each area is meticulously crafted with attention to detail. The atmosphere is enhanced by atmospheric sound effects and a haunting musical score that immerses players in the haunting realms of Sanctuary.

The gameplay mechanics in Diablo IV offer a satisfying blend of hack-and-slash combat, character progression, and loot acquisition. The diverse classes each offer a unique playstyle, encouraging experimentation and providing ample replay value. The visceral combat and the thrill of finding powerful loot create a sense of constant progression and reward.

However, one area where Diablo IV falls short is pacing. The game occasionally suffers from slow moments and repetitive gameplay loops, which can lead to moments of boredom. While the initial exploration and questing are engaging, there are instances where the game's pace slows down, making it feel like a grind. It is in these moments that the game could benefit from injecting more dynamic events or a greater variety of quest types to keep the player engaged and excited.

Despite the occasional lulls, Diablo IV's narrative is compelling and serves as a driving force throughout the adventure. The game's darker tone and mature storytelling present a captivating tale of ancient evils, personal vendettas, and the fight for salvation. Engaging cutscenes and well-written dialogue breathe life into the diverse cast of characters, making them feel like more than just quest-giving entities.

Multiplayer and cooperative gameplay add another layer of excitement to Diablo IV. Teaming up with friends to tackle challenging dungeons or engaging in intense player-versus-player battles can be a thrilling experience. The cooperative play fosters a sense of camaraderie and adds longevity to the game beyond the single-player campaign.

Diablo IV's graphics and performance are top-notch, with detailed character models, stunning spell effects, and smooth animations. The game's technical aspects contribute to the overall immersive experience, allowing players to fully appreciate the dark and foreboding world they inhabit.

In conclusion, Diablo IV is a welcome addition to the beloved franchise, offering a dark and immersive adventure that captures the essence of the series. While occasional moments of sluggishness and monotony hinder the overall experience, the captivating setting, addictive gameplay mechanics, and engaging narrative make it a standout title. With some fine-tuning to address the pacing issues, Diablo IV has the potential to become a truly exceptional game that satisfies both long-time fans and newcomers to the Diablo universe.

The skills just don't feel as devistating when they hit. The customization of your characters are so limited that you can't do a bad build. Each skill points adds like 20 - 50 extra damage, or reduces / increases by 0.2 - 3%.
You don't feel like your some amazing hero smashing your way through thousands of monsters and more like another recruit sent into the grinder.

    - Dungeons, cellars and areas feel repetitive
    - Vast numbers of sub-quests are utterly meaningless, with dialogue you don't want to read or hear
    - World scales to character, so progression doesn't mean much except new powers to play with
    - Combat is pretty spammy and repetitive, with no real skill curve
    - Boss fights are repetitive and unmemorable

This game and Elden Ring are separated by a couple of percent near the top of the rankings, but Elden Ring is a masterpiece. This is aesthetically pleasing but ultimately a tedious dopamine farm you'll want to move on from.

Had I based my review solely on that initial experience, Diablo 4 would effortlessly earn a 9 out of 10 from me. However, it's crucial to remember that this is a "game as a service," and needs to be evaluated in that light. Regrettably, once Blizzard assimilated player feedback, they severely nerfed many of the game mechanics I cherished. There's merit to the argument that these changes might balance the game, ensuring players don't effortlessly coast through without any genuine challenges. While I echo this sentiment, Blizzard's adjustments felt overly harsh. A more measured approach would've been appreciated.

Now, addressing the seasonal content: it's currently lackluster, often feeling like a repetitive grind with the occasional new quest and gear thrown in. I'm a fan of the cosmetics in their battle pass; it's refreshing to have a plethora of aesthetic items up for grabs. Yet, the content should be sufficiently compelling to make players want to invest in a battle pass in the first place.

This review reflects my impressions during season 1. I remain hopeful for brighter days ahead for Diablo 4.

The cinematics and music (you have to tweak your audio settings, turn down SFX to ~50% if you wanna hear the music while playing) in this game are fantastic.

After 80 hours, and after starting a second character, the motivation is gone, and I need new content and more flexible character building.

TL;DR I liked Diablo 3 and Path of Exile more.

    # Gameplay
Hitfeedback is not that satisfying. Ability variety is less than in previously mentioned games.
Levelling was exciting in Diablo 3, each level gave you something new to try. In Diablo 4, you unlock a section where you can try 4-5 Skills, where only one skill may be fun to use. Then you have to grind too long with levelling multiple levels, to unlock the next skill set to try new skills. The more you level, the longer it takes to unlock the next set.
You can't observe how your Experience bar goes up, it will be covered by an annoying status information. In Diablo 3, it was exciting to see that bar going up, depending on the amount of kills, and difficulty.
For looting, it is missing a feature from Diablo 3, which would indicate whether the loot would increase a stat or not. Now, you have to loot, go to menu, navigate to the item, then decide what to do with it.
Bosses are very bullet spongy, and become monotonous quickly, you will see when doing dungeons. I reduced the difficulty and renounced Experience boost, just to get over with this a bit faster. Sometimes it becomes a pure endurance minigame, seeing the health bar of the boss going down so slowly, while repeating the same pattern.
Bosses have too easy mechanics. Path of Exile bosses are designed better.
Elites of different races share combat patterns, and also behave very predictable after having fought a few of them. If I see one more jump-smash attack of an elite, I will scream.
When you have found your favourite skill set from the skill tree, that’s it. There is not much change for the skills on how they behave. The only thing that changes with those endgame boards, are a few more attribute points here, a few more % damage there. Not like in Path of Exile, where you can significantly modify the behaviour of skills, also in the endgame.
I also started a second character, and it's still the same feeling, just with other skills. In Path of Exile, you can have all those skills with just one character.
One ultimate skill from the bow class (arrow rain), is a standard skill in Path of Exile.
It’s laborious to change the world level. In Diablo 3 you could switch fluently between world levels, right from the pause/character menu.
On level 51, I was still waiting for the feeling which Diablo 3 and Path of Exile gave me.
It becomes extremely monotonous, when doing map completion, riding from A to B, just to experience the same again and again. Enemies become monotonous. Sometimes, the enemy just walks around you, sticking on you.
After unlocking the third, and last interesting endgame board, and unlocking the legendary nodes on all three, I thought “so.. that’s it”?
My next goal should be unlocking world level 4. But that means I have to grind until lv 70 with the same monotonous gameplay. No thanks.
I miss the sandboxiness of Path of Exile, where I can increase the attack speed almost on my wish, and I miss the combat feeling of both Path of Exile and Diablo 3.

    # World
Main story & atmosphere, good. Impressively good (italian) voice acting.
Shared world stuff just distracts, feels cheap like a Lost Ark clone.
When I was lv 45, the loot in the main story was for lv 35, even if mission level was scaled to my level.
World boss, almost no hit feedback, and also just a bullet sponge with repetitive and predictable behaviour.
Riding from A to B is a pure minimap minigame, typical open-world problem.
Secondary missions have very much spoken dialogues, also with many optional dialogues. I find, the game designer(s) should have put more resources into the gameplay. I only did secondary missions, for map completion, for unlocking endgame points. I skipped all secondary mission dialogues, and did not do one more secondary mission, after unlocking all map rewards. The stories of secondary missions were standard secondary stuff.

    # Technology
Xbox live gold subscription for Singleplayer play, is unbelievable.
Tips on loading screens go away too quickly.

this game gets killed by the SCALING OF THE MONSTERS.
here are some Pros and Cons.

    Pro:
    - big open world
    - some nice additions to that openworld like the lilith altars , a lot of sidequests, some of them are pretty good story wise
    - mainstory is pretty nice

    Cons:
    - BIGGEST MINUS IS THAT EVERYTHING SCALES TO YOUR LEVEL/POWER SO IT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE TO GET STRONGER, CUZ THEY WILL BEAT YOU THE SAME WAY THEY DID BEFORE YOU GOT YOUR AWESOME LEGENDARY WHICH IS LIKE 20 LVLS ABOVE THE OLD ONE
    - Absolutely not rewarding endgame
    - Legendaries suck , you can get the same legendary stats on any kind of item, so its just the icon/looks which is different
    - there are actually only a few legendary stats which are useable cuz most classes have like one good build which is recommended or actually does some damage
    - skills are super boring, and by boring i mean super boring, imagine throwing bonespears as a necromancer because its your strongest hitting skill and spamming the basic bone attack skill 10 times because your bonespear takes like 20-30% of your ressources
    - the attack animations are bad, the game looks actually ugly too, for a next gen game it failed. look at Lost Ark , they managed everything and that game is like 5 years old
    - they could have build some LFG function into it, but there isnt any
    - The Death of two big names... one killed by a furniture, the other one got skewered from the back.. never seen a more stupid deathscene like this in any game before
    - it took me like 30 hours or so or probably more to unlock the damn horse, thats probably their way of dragging the story... you can imagine how annoying that is right?
    - every 20 mins, half of your inventory will be filled with gems... the game is full of backtracking elements which will also make your life in sanctuario harder, harder than lilith could do

i regret paying so much money for this, looks like critics review are also not reliable enough anymore. only pay/play if you want to experience the gameplay and want to experiment a little bit. because after like lvl 50 all you will do is either 100% the whole map AC style or just grind the same stuff for the 10000th time till you quit and i can tell you that grinding Diablo 4 is no fun, Diablo 3 was atleast enjoyable , flying through the dungeons, also having more challenging dungeons available at any time. they had enough time and also enough money to make tis a big game. i hated them back on diablo 3 release for their bad server management, now i will hate them for effing up a game gameplay wise, which is impossible to fix. never going to buy another diablo game again, maybe if its on sale for 5 bucks

Had I reviewed this game immediately after finishing the main campaign I probably would have given it a higher rating. However, we all know that the end of the campaign is where these types of games should just be beginning.

To keep it brief I'm just gonna list out things I thought about while playing:

-Cooldowns are way too long I'd much rather all my abilities be weaker but I could use them more often.

-More abilities should interact with each other in interesting ways. Best example I can think of is druid bear charging into a crowd and using pulverize in a big group.

-I wish at any given moment there was like 4 times the amount of enemies on screen

-Enemies leveling up with you not only makes the game feel super repetitive, but also makes leveling up seem incredibly useless

-Hard crowd control happens way too often and lasts way too long. There are no clear visible debuff icons telling you what you're afflicted with and for how long.

-Hardcore characters dying when a disconnect from the server occurs is dumb as hell. Who cares if people abuse it? It's a PvE game. Also when you put a random **** you enemy in the game like the butcher then give people no escape from it. Making a hardcore character seems like a test of patience and luck rather than skill.

-Modifiers being tied to legendary gear is cool, but when the amount of modifiers to your abilities in the skill tree is so low it makes it frustrating to grind out what you need just for your build to work. Abilities and skill tree in general needs a rework.

    -Servers are ****ed

All that being said, I had fun with the game. But the second I hit the end game and realized how tedious it would be, how many problems were adding up, and how truly little endgame there was, I just decided it'd be better to move on. Hopefully some of this stuff gets fixed and they give me a reason to come back.

The game is great up untill level 50 when it then feels too much of a chore due to the infinite scaling mechanics. With no offline mode it's also dissapointing to have connectivity issues and also to be forced in to participating in seasons.

Replayability factor is low after level 50. Needs some serious QOL improvements Also doesn't have Matchmaking....

Story is enjoyable for the most part (though personally I found myself siding with the enemy more than the 'good guys' due to occasional poor character development and writing). Combat generally feels good, though there are some negatives I'll get into there later.

    The mediocre:

Stats and gearing are bloated, but otherwise this is a Diablo game, grind for better gear so you can grind for better gear, ad nauseum. If you like this, the game will be right up your alley, as you are always on the hunt for an upgrade for your character and it feels great to find the items you've been after. If you don't, no amount of hype will change that this game is designed for you to spend hundreds or thousands or hours to perfect your character.

The end-game before Season 1 can hardly be called an end-game. There are roughly 4 activities to partake in after finishing the story, and perhaps two of them are rewarding enough to bother with. I won't spoil what those activities are, but let's just say that all involve killing monsters or bosses and the rewards for some things are NOT worth your time, which leaves you with only two real things to bother doing with your time if you want to progress your character.

    The bad:

The horse. What the actual heck.... One of the most poorly-designed modes of transport in any game within the past ten years. If you've ever ridden a skateboard on nice smooth concrete, and managed to run over a small pebble at speed, you will know exactly what it feels like to use this mount. It collides with everything, be it person, bush, or single pixel of the corner you were attempting to navigate around. It has no intelligent pathing, and will try to move to your cursor, even it means screeching to an instant halt on a corner that you cut too narrowly. Need to dismount quickly to pick up an item, or climb up one of the many cliffs placed in your way? Well, now you get to wait 10 seconds before you can use the horse again. I appreciate that we can move across the map more quickly with the horse, but boy does it feel absolutely terrible to use.

The price. Blizzard expects you to pay a premium for this AAA title, but they are also treating it similarly to lower-priced or free games with paid seasonal content and battle-passes. I get it, profits are king, but it feels bad to pay full price for a game and then be expected to pump more money in every few months. You can't buy something from the shop for cash. Like many games, you are forced to buy in-game currency which 'conveniently' is purchased in amounts less than or greater than the 'cost' of digital goods in game. So, you are either forced to buy multiple smaller packages (at less discount) to buy your item, or you are forced to overspend on a larger package, where you will ultimately have left-over currency that can't be used to buy any items without spending additional money. Exploiting human psychology for profits is a sad look, and though I won't be purchasing anything from the in-game store, it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

As it stands, the game is playable. Some may really enjoy it. Unfortunately, I'm in the low 80s on my main character now and I'm already bored to death. Perhaps Season 1 will bring some new life into the game, but as it stands now I can't give D4 much more than a 5/10. Boooooring.

There are only three endgame viable builds for the sorceress also: arc lash, ice shards, and fire wall. Forget using frozen orb, fire ball, charged bolts, chain lightning, or blizzard. They are just too weak. The enchantment system on the sorceress is just wildly unbalanced also. You'll be running fire bolt just to burn things so that you do more damage to them on any build. Some other big issues are the fact that monster scaling feels bad, item level requirements constantly increase as you level, and the quality of life is horrid. Monsters scaling makes it so that you never really feel powerful. The monsters are always increasing in difficulty as you level. It makes it so that you can play with friends of all levels, but it comes at a big cost. You'll see your level 10 friends killing things faster than you. You also lose out on the sense of power progression that you get from other ARPGs. Item level requirements that constantly increase feel terrible. The game basically has three tiers of items. Sacred and ancestral items come with set level requirements, but then they continue to scale up to your level when dropped. This feels bad as items I am finding now all have a level 85 requirement on them even though they are not more powerful than items I was finding at level 60. The item level requirement scaling makes trading rares terrible, gearing alt characters almost impossible, and it ruins being able to give friends rare items that would be good for them. My other big issue with the game is the lack of quality of life. It feels like they just rushed the game out after the campaign was polished and they threw in some endgame activities. The game lacks basic features like being able to search in your stash and having a place to store your gems. It also lacks social features like being able to talk in a global channel or being able to queue up for group activities. There is no loot filter either, so finding upgrades at higher levels becomes extremely tedious. You also have to run to nightmare dungeons, but a fix for that is supposedly coming within a few weeks. Overall, Diablo 4 just isn't worth the money right now. The campaign is okay, but ARPGs are known for their replayability at endgame. Diablo 4 completely misses the mark in this area due to the reasons above. I would recommend that you wait to purchase this game for probably a year or so. They may address some of the bigger issues by then. Expand

The progression system is similar to the Diablo 3 system where you just do Greater Rifts to level up your gems and get paragon points. The game in its actual state does have a lot of potential because of its nice combatsystem and graphics. If blizzard would change the endgamesystem similar to poe and do innovative stuff like last epoch, this game and its community would love it. Also in its actual state there are a lot of technical teething problems. - Barricades in a open world game which hinders players to ride through it.
    - low mobdensity
    - backtracking affixes in nightmaredungeons
    - missing endgame bosses and an interesting progression system
    - multiple missing QOL features such as geminventory, clunky horseriding turbo, less stashtabs, missing overlay map, no trading, dealers in towns are far away from each other, traveltimes are too high for nightmaredungeons.

I liked the story (wasn't terrible) and most the fun i had was like the old school d2 feel of playing with the builds/skills/abilities, the almost same nuance of the feeling of exploring something new and that seemed to all just go away the more I played as the lack of everything that finally was fixed in the prior series just seemed to be completely omitted or reduced significantly in this version. The highlights (well low lights in this case):
-gear rewards for ancestral dungeons is randomized to lower rated gear
-purveyor gear stated as a specific tier also includes pool of lower rated gear
-side quests you missed are not listed anywhere (D3 at least said do this bounty quest in a specific area of a region)
-mounts seem horrifically useless and always just run into non visible blocks that just stop you or
    -random dismounts
-i honestly think all the math isn't adding up as well for resists and damages but i can't be certain because there isn't clear way to see what values you're pulling as you can't look at your stats while playing
-i'm getting just rubber banding issues at certain times and the constant hotfixes is causing disconnects
-there doesn't seem to be any focus on anything that helps players in the long run while the studio just seems to put their attention on blocking anything that helps players (make elites spread out, make elites spawn less, make players get less XP, make sure to not fix any of the other major issues)
-early game wasn't as expensive respecing but the more changes they keep making, the more folks are trying to find builds that will help and update gear that will help and it's all for naught because it'll get nerfed again or you're too broke to fully get to the point you're trying to reach
-accessibility options are very minimal and don't really assist in anything outside the same ol' standard template of "just give 'em basic stuff so we can say we tried".
-if you're gonna make this part Diablo Immortal, least put in the LFG for dungeons. That I dug and would help with folks who are on solo and just wanna clear an area faster. Currently no real way to find a group to do things like the old school battle net lobby and i think it's because the crossplay that lot of console players don't really chat from the console

This feels like Diablo Immortal slapped on Diablo 3 very poorly with a promise of D2 feeling captured but it's like a D2 Lite Spritzer. The team seemed to have forgotten all the things they endured to make D3 better and it had a rocky start. I can't even agree with some of these folks that say it's more Diablo 3 - It seems pre D3 to me in the sense of the AH fiasco all over again. I'm slightly hopeful that Blizz will release something that they will be more vocal, they'll be more active and share why some of the choices they made were implemented that worked well in the previous iterations and that like the rough start of D3, they're gonna do what they can to make it right.

It wouldn't be fair to just say the bad things about this game so:
-i liked the story, it's a bit slow paced and some moments are definitely "why?!?1" but it's good for what they're trying to do with this live service and chapters approach
-it does look pretty, those people saying it's a prettier D2/D3; that's not a negative and they should highlight that
-i had fun with the exploring and seeing items dropped very early so again, fun for the first few days; when was the last time you were excited for a yellow item to drop?
    -all the easter eggs
    -trash titles

I did see Devs released an update as i completed this and will definitely update this to better if they follow what they shared on the video
    https://youtu.be/3PO9OY7AIs4?t=1715
-this is more personal but 25-28 bucks for a costume seems absurd, kudos to those that don't care about that and that's not included in my negative outlook for this game but it def is only for looks - no pay to win junk in the store as some of these other folks wrote.

Every day I play this, I fall asleep about a half an hour into it. It's not the fun, colorful, and great-sounding sequel to its predecessor.

The environments are visually stunning, but extremely drab. The story has way too much dialogue.

If you want a less expensive, BETTER experience, look elsewhere.

Written 7/19/23: I wanted so bad to like this game but it’s so slow. They took what could be a fun 10-20 hour game and stretched it took take 100 hours. Recent patch they made it slower. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I dunno I’m finding it really unbalanced, demolishing elite mobs in a instant then it takes to kill one marauder. Then it’s just way to easy the higher lvl you are the easier it get. When you about lvl 55 on wt 3 it becomes to numbly boring and easily, grinding till lvl 60 to do the next wt dungeon was a true test of perseverance. Yeah the first few lvl on wt 4 are challenging like I said it gets earlier as you lvl up and you don’t even feel like ya characters got any more powerful or evolved. My fights look and feel exactly the same on wt4 lvl 68 as it did when lvl 20 on wt 2 and I would say wt 2 was more challenging, I met the butcher more often and had crap gear. I think its easily solvable tho we need areas of the map that are all ways 2 or 3 lvls above I would make them hell stronghold permanent, introduce heavenly stronghold and let us choose who to fight for hell, heaven or nephalem, man when I played the campaign I wanted to join Lilith and smoke Inarius and Mephisto by the end. Next hell tides need way more mobs and boss fights, i would also have a thing where in the last 10 min we have to push the hoard of Hell back, if players fail this it reduce the drop rates until areas have been cleared of x amount of enemy’s. The campaign is also not up to standard, starts of really good but after the first act it flat lines 2 good cut scenes, the first is the resurrection of Lilith at the start and then some parts of Lilith and co walking though Hell. I know lots of ppl don’t like the aesthetics of D3 but just go watch the cut scene where Diablo open the doors of heaven to Lilith opening the doors to Hell. She just squeezes a rock and doors open to nothing and the gates to hell where on every loading screen it was very anticlimactic. The entire way though the campaign she like 5 steps a head of you and at the end you just get teleported to the right location just before her to foil her plans and your own. It end with a hero not the hero travelling around with a soulstone with a prime evil in it again, that what happen to D2 hero at the start of D3, just this time it’s Mephisto in the soulstone instead of Diablo. Leveling up takes forever and is completely meaningless. You don't get more powerful if everything else is always 2-3 levels above you anyway. The skill tree is far too complex resulting in the need to create very specific builds. If you don't do your research, create a spreadsheet, consult NASA and cross-reference your astrological chart you won't have the right points in the right places and you'll just die a lot. Paragon won't help either. Apparently the demons have a better paragon board than I do since they are *still* killing me easily.

But surely you can compensate for that with gear right? No. The gear is awful. I haven't swapped out anything in about 10 levels. It just isn't worth it. Remember when you'd get excited about finding something rare? Or at that classic *ting* sound of something hitting the floor warning you to pay attention and get ready because this thing right here is going to be awesome? You couldn't wait to check the stats. That's gone. I kill a Boss, collect the loot, go do five other things, then check the stats of the new stuff when I go to town. Why bother getting excited when I'm just going to salvage it anyway because it has half the stats of my current stuff? I used to chase treasure goblins down. Now I don't bother with them. They don't have anything. And you can't buy anything. The shops have four items, crazy expensive, that change every hour, that also have lower stats.

Also, this requirement to be online is frustrating. I have not had any server issues. I get on right away. I have always been a solo Diablo player. I always will be. I don't want to see other people in my game let alone watch them take my gold after my kill which has happened several times now. I have never played a season and have no interest in doing so.

It just doesn't feel like Diablo anymore.

The class as a whole was completely destroyed after the open/closed betas and so far have only received small buffs to minions. They lack survivability and have zero movement. They are underpowered in single target boss fights, and don't even get me started on PVP. While it's not uncommon to see unkillable Barbs, Druids, Sorcerers pumping out massive AOE and single target damage. Necromancer struggles at both. I was really hopeful that I would spend hundreds if not thousands of hours with this game over the next few years. But the state Necromancer has launched in has destroyed all the hype I had for this game. Now I'm wondering if I'll even manage to stick around for the first season let alone the first expansion.
I leveled up a Barb and Rogue just to compare and confirm my suspicions and they were absolutely confirmed. Those characters were easily able to complete content my Necromancer struggled on and in the case of The Butcher my Necromancer was the only one to die. Bottom line it's a great game if you don't want to main Necromancer. However Necromancer is so bad and feels so lackluster in so many area I find myself wondering how much longer I really want to play. There is hope on the horizon though with Path of Exile 2 not to far off in the future. Maybe they'll give me the class fantasy Diablo 4 can't or won't.

Took a lightly buggy game, made a huge update, and completely took all the fun out of it. buffed all the monsters, nerfed all the characters, but what's worse is they took players weeks of grind and just took a big hot runny dump all over everyone. Diablo IV is the perfect evolution of the series. The many new features make for a truly modern title, giving us an experience capable of keeping us glued to the controller for many hours, without neglecting the historical and most beloved features of the series. If we add to this a technical aspect of the highest quality, a very accessible multiplayer structure, and a huge end-game, we obtain a majestic title that stands as the best exponent of the action-RPG genre and is capable of bringing us plenty of emotions.

Diablo IV is the culmination of everything Blizzard has set up before to make one ultimate experience. The world is stunning, drowned in a beautiful soundtrack that makes even the smallest moments feel epic. With a deep character system, satisfying combat and an endgame that feels like only the start of your adventure, it's hard not to recommend. Dig in, experiment with classes, fight some demons and loot some dungeons. You won’t regret it.
