Dead Reset is an enjoyable sci-fi horror story, with fun characters, great b-movie effects and gruesome deaths, and is ripe for several playthroughs to see how different we can make the outcomes of the crew. The time loop addition means we even get a small sliver of experimentation in our choices, as a bad one means we can try again almost without penalty – a rarity in these types of games.

Dead Reset is a labour of love. From top to bottom it shows that every person involved with this project put their everything into it. Be that actors pulling double or triple duties behind the scenes or just the sheer amount of amazing practical effects that are put on screen. As a game it’s obviously extremely barebones. You pick between option A and B over and over again, having sometimes more and sometimes less influence on where the story goes. But if you like campy and schlocky horror movies and like to make tough decisions then you just have to check out Dead Reset.

As an FMV game, Dead Reset comes complete with good production values, a great premise, and excellent performances. The gameplay mechanics, though, are quite basic, and sometimes you will be left watching along, without playing for too long.
