Feb 5, 2025It took a while to come to consoles (over a year), but Cuisineer was worth the wait. As RPG roguelite social sim genre mashups go, this is about as good as it gets. It's lovely and colourful, too. Cuisineer is a tasty little morsel.

Feb 5, 2025I actually enjoyed Cuisineer more than I thought I would. Once I got a few upgrades and didn’t have to come running back to town after filling my bags in ten minutes, I started to enjoy it much more. Having a fridge full of ingredients meant I could run my restaurant all day and make some good coin. There’s certainly some pacing issues, an endgame grind, and could use much better tutorials, but playing casually, running a dungeon or serving patrons here and there is quite enjoyable and relaxing.

Jan 7, 2025Cuisineer is a cute, comfy social sim with some Action RPG added in there. That said, this might be one of the most transparent versions of the genre, which does not feel rewarding to unlock new content.

Jan 28, 2025Unlike the tasty looking food you are making, Cuisineer on Xbox is a very bland game. It’s definitely a looker, with some really pretty visuals and a very cute aesthetic throughout. But the gameplay itself is basic with little substance to it.

Feb 13, 2025Cuisineer is the perfect example of a game that needs a bit more cooking to be completely tasty. The central concept, which is to develop your restaurant by collecting resources in dungeons, is mouth-watering enough at first glance. What is more, the shimmering backgrounds and atypical characters are cool as cucumbers. However, the progression system leaves an unpleasant aftertaste, as it generates an overly pronounced feeling of repetitiveness. Even if we are not going to cry over spilled milk, it is clear that the incessant loading times are not going to be everyone's cup of tea! The bill may seem a little steep, but the title still does not deserve its first star in the Xboxygen guide.
