While the game isn’t directly from Alfred Hitchcock’s mind, it’s been loyally crafted by those who’ve worked hard to honor and replicate his style. This is a game for Hitchcock fans, by Hitchcock fans and that really shines through. Vertigo isn’t quite the game-changer that Heavy Rain or As Dusk Falls managed to be, but it certainly deserves a seat at the table.

Alfred Hitchcock Vertigo could have been an important opportunity to bring one of the classic cinema masterpieces to our inddustry. But, instead, Pendulo Studios has given us a game that have a lot of issues with his technical part and gameplay, but with a strong story with excellent characters.

At times the story of Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo can be interesting, but it never fully comes together. Succeeding neither as an homage to a great director’s work or on its own terms, it might be better served if it didn’t have the expectations its name provides, but that wouldn’t make it a great game. There are simply better adventure games more worth your time available this year.

From a slow and confusing start to an immense finale full of great twists that you don’t see coming, I was constantly engaged. I cannot understand why the press didn’t rate this game more highly. Technically some of the lip sync is very off but some of the scenery is wonderful and I had no issue playing through on the series X. It’s more a very long interactive film than a game per se but if you like the Telltale games or something similar, you may well enjoy this. Most of the voice acting is spot on with only the main protagonist perhaps deliberately being a little wooden. I loved it Expand
