    After 4 years of playing this game, it gets **** and **** every year. The basic problem is that the game and its community have become more and more toxic. First, the game has too much repetitive quests in my opinion, the game tries through regular updates new quests and OPW tasks. But that's where the second problem starts - you can't play these great new content updates because 90% ofAfter 4 years of playing this game, it gets **** and **** every year. And a Constantly attack one and mostly sink your ship. The developers also do nothing against this constant killing of the worse players that you could simply cure via matchmaking. But no Rare and Microsoft supports the PvP player by getting money for the sunk ships.
    So if you want to experience a cool epic pirate adventure, don't buy sea of thieves but rather a good game that is not so bad.    … Expand

    I've played the game since before it released and it is currently the worst it has ever been.

    The community is toxic and never cooperate, which means you can't enjoy most of the games content.
    The devs refuse to add PvE servers and so I recommend anyone and everyone avoid this hell by not playing.

    honestly a surprisingly mediocre game that I only got because my cousin wanted me to play it and it was free on the game pass, the missions are rather repetitive and the combat boring and limited leaving little room for the imagination perhaps there is something I am missing but at the moment I barely enjoy the game with people let alone by myself.

The game has no extra settings to make it easier or harder depending on the size of your crew, and it does not work very well on PC if trying to join an xbox friend.     It's a cool concept very poorly executed. Had the game offered real progression and a wider variety of objectives, it could have been something truly special. Instead, you play the same mission over and over on different islands. There's nothing to strive for other than cosmetic upgrades. There's no actual challenge or goal. It's hardly something you will come back to after playing a few missions.

    Thought I would give it a go as its on gamepass and it says can play solo. Turns out its your typical crap multi-player game. Couldn't even explore the seas or do first quest without boat getting destroyed constantly by giggling kids.

Leave this game to the twitch idiots and the vile creeps that comprise the players and spend your time and money ANYWHERE else.

Well, the truth is that this game is mostly PVE, if you look how it's set up. The grinding for factions, the money grind, the story quests. Then when the player they end up robbing complains, they can blame the game for their actions, they can blame the player they just killed, they can blame the developers or anyone else they can think of other than themselves.

    They should have made the game fun and friendly to everyone instead of making it favor PvP focused players while intentionally disadvantaging PvE focused players. For all the people that are going to tell me this is a PvP game, like I mentioned already, there's a lot of PvE content for a PvP focused game. Arena is PvP, Open is a ganker's paradise. It's anarchy. If you're good at PvP and you have a crew of 4+, then it's open season to roam around and kill people at your leisure, for everyone else it's a nightmare of constantly looking over your shoulder, losing your progress and putting up with griefers. Imagine if GTA had no passive mode and you had to do all of the missions in the public lobby where you could have some one roll up and kill you at any time. That's what this game is like except it will usually be 2-4 people on a ship instead of one guy in a vehicle.    … Expand

As a solo player it is impossible to make progress in the Tall Tales without other players ruining my progress due to non existent check points at times. My opinion this game Sea of thieves, should still be in beta testing. for one they limit the fps xbox users are allowed to achieve, whereas they dont limit pc users fps, Kind of **** Fps is a Big Big BIG **** Deal. probably the standalone reason i dont like this game. other than that the game progresses like **** you dont get to get anything to make your character more effective in any **** aspect what so ever. its all cosmetic. but im sorry Rare thinks Cosmetics are all that matter. not really but this seems to be the case to me. you only have like 2 options to speed up the fps. thats downgrade to a smaller tv resolution and decrease your fov. FYI its not my internet. Day Z. Plays Perfect on a full server. I just wanted to let everybody know this game is pretty much **** right now.
    The Best Aspect to the game is being able to steer and control the boat. which they probably stole from another game.
    Im sure there going to update it and all that but they boast more than the game is currently worth.

    Pvp only is way too frustrating for new players with basic stuff, the game is quite good and beautiful but to die again and again takes all of the fun out... I'm glad i played it with gamepass and didn't have to pay full price. A pve mode would allow more players to enjoy the game especially when a pvp mode already exists.

    No destaca en absolutamente nada y lo triste es que es otro de los títulos que microsoft intenta colar como indispensable para su consola Xbox.

    I didn't like this game at all... graphics aren't good, gameplay is boring, almost free to play level, very tedious, uninteresting quests, very little content and there isn't any kind of character progression. I was interested at the beginning for the premise, but the excitement went away very fast.
    A very shallow game.

    O jogo não lhe da senso de direção, não te pega pela mão e os jogadores mais experientes terão que lhe guiar a todo momento, tornando a experiência monótona, e cansativa para ambos os lados, infelizmente eles ousaram demais, quiseram fazer algo totalmente novo mas utilizaram das características de game design mais patéticas da industria, nem se quer colocaram um sistema de progressão, rank ou tracker, as conquistas são impossíveis, combate enferrujado e dificuldade frustrante.
    O mundo criado é lindo, porém vazio, os eventos escassos como o tubarão, kraken e os navios fantasma não mais impressiona na segunda vez, e você apenas deseja que não aconteça de novo, pois o jogo não tem um Gun Fight bom.
    A história é inexistente, mesmo jogos com foco exclusivo no MMO, jogos como serviço e grind, possui um background na história(Destiny, anthem e RPG´s online), e quando se é explorado de maneira correta, acaba à ter uma fanbase sólida para consumir produtos de outras mídias, sea of thieves não possui nem justificativa dos acontecimentos, tudo acontece de maneira rasa e superficial .    … Expand

    I started playing Sea of Thieves when I all of my friends got the game and said that it was a fun game. I was welcomed by bright colors and a beautiful open world. What caught me off guard was the constant grind to get that new hat or that new coat you really wanted for your character. You had to complete several long, tedious missions just for a small bit of gold. Do not buy or play this game, monotonous world, fun the first hour of the game. I would give it to -10 points if I had the opportunity, and so my traditional 0 points out of 10 ..

    Sea of Thieves has extremely basic combat, very few weapons, no upgrades to your gear or your ship, very little content, extremely little choice in playstyles and generally nothing to do in it. Very disappointing, people are so bored that griefing others is the only way to entertain yourself.

    It was interesting at first trying to figure out how to sail my ship but after I figured it out. It was pretty easy to replicate it. For the first few hours it is amazing! the cooperative play with my buddies was amazing! how ever it all ends after that first 3 hours of fun, Sea of Thieves fails to hit that 3 hours of fun again.     Stupid, boring, and online sucks! This game is basically The Divisions' Dark Zone in the sea. I did like the Fable style art they used, but other than that, the game was a total let down.

    While the game looks absolutely gorgeous, it´s so boring. It´s really fun for a few hours, but after that, everything feels much worse than before. The only thing you can really do, is this:
    1. Get a quest.
    2. Get to the location, where the item is. 3. Get the item. 4. Turn it in for coins. That`s all. Nothing else.     Fun for a while but later...non existing progression if you don't count skins. Same repeating quests, small map and swimming/sailing will lost it's charm rather quickly. You better spend your money elsewhere.almost 5 years in development and this is the result?

    Shame this comes from a previously great studio, has nothing going for it it seems that business as usual Rare started developing and funds stopped half way through so had to push it out in its current state, feel sorry for Rare. The game is boring beyond imagination and worse yet we're asked 60 USD/EUR for it.

    Well... If they wanted the biggest disappointment award, they earned it for sure. The game itself gets boring after maybe 10-20 hours and since the game is full price, it's almost outrageously bad for the price. Even with friends, the game quickly becomes duller then a rusty knife and has to be one of my most hated games right now.

    I was very excited for Sea of Thieves amidst my friends telling me it wasn't going to be good. Wish I listened. The core of the game is pretty good but not worth the money. Playing on Xbox is an uphill battle dealling with PC players with the advantages inherent with PCs, PC cheats, etc. Crossplay was always listed as a feature but it was never stated that it would be MANDATORY.     We have nothing but respect for Rare's vision with Sea of Thieves, but it is a game as likely to chew you up and spit you out, as it is to embrace you. If the wind is in your favour then it can be a delight, but a storm is never far off if you lose momentum. The real test of the quality and efficacy of Rare's plan will be in how it manages to evolve and grow in the weeks and months to come. [Issue#199, p.67]
