    Pure cinematic bliss. I cant rave about this game enough. Rockstar has yet again proved themselves to be one of the best video game developers in the world. The opening blizzard scene is one of the most graphically stunning set pieces ever and throughtout the game you are treated with incredibly detailed environments that will make you stop and admire more than a handful of times. The gameplay feels a little clunky at first but after a couple hours into the game you will get a hang of the controls and it becomes extremely rewarding, seamlessly blending in a mix of the dive button, sliding into cover, duel weilding revolvers and fantastic execution animations that trigger when youre grappling or close to an enemy. The horse bonding and controls are the best thats ever been seen in a video game...but what truly makes this game stand out are the characters and the gang. Rockstar has created a game rich with compelling and complex characters that go through incredible amounts of character development over the course of the nearly 60+ hour story mode. Micah Bell is the King Geoffrey if videogames, you love to hate him. Suprisingly Arthur Morgan is one of my favorite video game characters ever. right up there with the likes of Joel and Ellie from the last of us and Kratos and Atreus from God of War. Now the story does start very slow and one of the last chapters becomes a very slow and tedious grind but its one i didnt mind because i enjoyed the characters and story so much (some gamers will find it annoying though). Overall this game is without a doubt, one of the greatest video games ever made and rockstar deserves to be applauded for their efforts. Every gamer needs to experience this game. I give it an easy 10/10.… Expand

    So I am writing this review as the end credits roll and must say i'm blown away by the detail of everything. Rockstar has truly made a masterpiece. This is hands down one of the best open world games I have played in a long time. Game of the year for sure. I don't care if you have to kill someone
    to get this game but just play it now.

    Best Open World Game 2018. Nothing to complain about graphically and it works very well. If you love open world this is the game for you and the world is massive. I play this on xbox one x and I am very impressed. I usually play on my gaming PC but i have no problem to play this on my xbox one x. I am happy I bought this game and not not f .... 76!

Arthur Morgan is one of the best video game protagonists of all time and one who helped grip me into the Red Dead Redemption 2’s story. One of the most gripping games of all time and one that hooked me within my first few hours of playing. Impressive graphics that make me fold down my jaw, a story that doesn't offend my brain and varied missions and pastimes that don't make the game boring even after hours say it all. But what makes me sure that a game has worked is when the death of the main character makes me cry. Arthur's death didn't leave me cold.Many have already said that this game is a masterpiece.     It's not only the best Rockstar game, but It's also one of the best games I ever played. Every aspect of the game is a masterpiece. Picture, sound, story, characters. I'm 30+ hours in the game and it keeps surprising me every minute. This open-world is the first one that really works and feels alive.

    Played around 30 hours really enjoying the game I wanted to give it a 9.5 out of 10 but it doesn't allow you to do that and only due to it's clunky controls but other than that this game looks brilliant especially at 4K can't wait to put another 30 hours into it.......

    One of the best games I've played in awhile, Renewed my faith in gaming as a whole. It might be too slow for younger players who are probably used to much more fast-paced condensed gaming experiences but I am glad that there are still some AAA gaming franchises left who takes characterization, plot and pacing seriously. A must play.

    ok so you are probably seeing a low score don't trust that its just a lot of pc owners who can't get the game when they never touched it anyway, Red dead 2 is much better than the 1st one I feel like red dead 2 is the best open world I have ever seed and the most realistic world and games I have played

The people throwing hate towards this game are either bitter PC gamers or youngsters with short attention spans withdrawing from FORTNITE, who can't handle the slower pace and no launch multiplayer options.     I was pleasantly surprised of the graphics on the Xbox One S. Honestly i thought it would look bad considering the console at its core is not very powerful. The world is massive, the voice acting is great and the gun play is my favorite. I love using dead eye with dual-wield revolvers. Would recommend 10/10

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a game, it’s a masterpiece. I made a Metacritic account just to give it a 10 out of 10.

    The world I saw giant, featuring a vast array of different landscapes and sceneries. There are big cities, desert town, farmlands, snowy mountains, jungles and many more for you to explore. The map of RDR2 also features the New Austin area of the first RDR, so you will be pleased to see your old, favorite places from the first game. The story is set all around the big map, so you will be able to explore the whole of it as you’re playing the story.

    And the gameplay is also extremely fun. The guns feel better than ever. As you’re playing through the story, you unlock new guns, which you can then buy and customize however you want. But also, the more you shoot your guns, the better you get at shooting them, so you have many option of what you want to do, use new better guns or stick to older ones. And the shooting never gets repetitive, it’s actually otherwise. The more you shoot, the more you want to shoot, so you play each mission with a lot of excitement to shoot more bad guys.

    And there are loads of story missions, side missions and other activities to do. As you travel around the world on your horse, you bump into many random encounters, which can be either hostile or friendly and there are so many of them, that I don’t think I’ve done the same random encounter more than twice, which means that the random encounters also don’t get repetitive. And many side missions have plots and plot twists, so many times you’re just expecting to help someone, but end up hating or even killing them.

    And now I’ll get into spoilers about the story, so if you want to play the story, don’t read the next 2 paragraphs. Arthur Morgan is probably the best written character of any Rockstar game. When the story first starts, you’re playing as a hillbilly guy, who is very angry and insults everyone for no apparent reason. You don’t like him at first and want to play as John Marston, but as the story goes on, you can see Arthur change and become a good man. You get very close to him, as if he is your best friend and then boom (big spoiler) he gets diagnosed with tuberculosis. This was a big and tragic shock for all RDR2 players, as you can see millions of searches on google about tuberculosis and if you can cure it. Every RDR2 Player was devastated.

    As the story continues Arthur gets better and worse in front of your eyes. You can see how now he is a very good man, but his health state is awful and you know that he will die, but you just hope that he won’t. And in the end, when you think that finally the bad times are over, Dutch betrays you, Micah is a rat and half of the Gang is gone. As you go to your camp, you feel such loneliness and sadness, thinking about all your dead friends and seeing how your gang went from being so big to so small. And then Arthur dies. I was unable to play the story for 3 weeks after that happened. It was as if my brother died, I couldn’t cope with it. And then playing as John was not as satisfying and I didn’t really want to play anymore, I just wanted Arthur back. This game drove me through so many emotions and made me cry so many tears of both joy and sadness, that I will remember this story for the rest of my life. It is the best story you will ever play.

    Writing this review pretty much to try and balance out at least 1 of the fake reviews or PC users that are raging because it isn't out on PC.

    Not fair whatsoever to this fantastic game or the devs.

    La experiencia de juego de nueva generación es tan inmensa y llena de cosas por hacer que te adentraras mas en la historia que otros juegos, la relación de estos también es buena y disfrutaras de sus gráficos en la consola mas potente de la generación Xbox One X.

    Rockstar is very difficult to surprise the audience: the games of this company have a stable quality. And the quality is so high that every time you think unwittingly: they say, the next time the developers just somewhere so wrong. However, the company does not give up. Red Dead Redemption 2 was an exceptional Western, though not perfect.

    Exelente ambientación un paso adelante respecto al primer Red Dead, unos efectos, gráficos, diseños y paisaje y ciudades muy elaboradas, infintas misines que hacer, con un buen manejo, e historia absorbente.
    Luego en Xbox One X se ve de lujo, aunque deberián revisar el tena del HDR el cual parece roto.

    I understand everyone has different tastes in games, but with that being said the people giving this game a 4 or lower are just being ridiculous. Regardless of how you feel about it personally there is no doubt that this is one of the most finely crafted video games ever made, there's no subjectivity about it.

    Every once and a while you find a game that is worthy of giving criticism to while also praising it. The game itself is in my opinion a master piece. To me it doesn’t feel like a scripted story. Some not all of which is restricted in a button press, it is a truly amazing experience, I have been playing nonstop since Thursday release and iv only just hit 39% story completion and 33% overall completion. The game does a masterful job teaching you the mechanics of the game while you play. So it doesn’t completely feel like aurther just knows how to do anything. Everything aurther learns, you learn. I feel games REALLY fail to deliver this in a way that seamlessly molds with the story. Rather than just being in a “fire fight” and learning things mid battle. You take time to hunt with someone in your gang that knows how to hunt and track. Later on you follow a con man and he teaches you how to pick lock safes. It’s truly amazing.

    First time playing a RDRD game; I can't believe I missed out on this much fun in the first game. Only flaw is walking/Horse riding can be slowish sometimes. But overall 10/10 can't wait for online mode!

Play this game if you love spending A LOT of time in a beautiful open world, at a slow pace just so you can enjoy everything it's offering you. After spending a decent amount of time in this game, you know you are going to be playing this game for a LOOOONG time. I mean, I'm 20+ hours in this game and still have only 1/3 of the map covered. I also want this game to take forever. When the story ends... I want to be left with all those memories.. Just like the first RDR.     Playing on an XBOX 1X. Regular Xbox has some issues I have heard. Amazing game. Story, graphics and world building are heads above anything released this year. Like playing a Sam Peckinpah western. Highly recommended.

    Is it perfect? Find me perfect and I'll debate with you why it's not. Perfect is in the eyes of the beholder. Nothing is perfect, but RDR2 is as close to it as you can get - and for what's not perfect, that's what patches and DLC are for. I find it excels over RDR1, truly... and the debate between RDR2 and GTA4 - well, if you can suspend the fact that you're comparing modern-day over the old west and pair it down to basic video game mechanics, well, yes, it excels there too. Is it better than GTAV - again, different genre, but given it's made for this generation of gaming systems, I truly believe R* delivered on all fronts. That said, I am looking forward to GTA6... just because... but I digress...

    The weapons are satisfying to shoot. The anarchy and crimes are satisfying to commit. Yes, there is a lot of traveling on horseback, which I admit, I was concerned about before release, but now that I've played it, it works - plus all of the mayhem that occurs between points A and B are a hoot.

    RDR2 will NOT make everyone happy - obviously - but given what I've said here, if you are into this sort of game, this game delivers.

    In summary - if like don't like fish, you won't like a fish sandwich. If you don't like westerns, you won't like RDR2. But if you do - you'll love this as this is one hell of a whale dinner.    … Expand

Rockstar certainly captured the feel of the original Red Dead, while still being innovative and new. The pacing is slow, but the game is intended to be that way. This isn't GTA, you're expected not to treat it that way. If you do, expect a large number of bounty hunters after you at all times. I always enjoyed the music, but by far the most during gunfights. The tension is kept high, and combat exciting. As far as the story goes, I've been kept engaged and interested throughout. Even random unimportant side activities like playing poker with your gang feels real and interactive, with the other players commenting on the game as it goes on, or referring to previous ones. If I had to nitpick something, I would say that the health/stamina/deadeye system can be a bit overwhelmingly confusing at first, but it quickly begins to make sense.
    All in all, I absolutely love this game, and anyone who has enjoyed a Rockstar title up to this point will not be disappointed.    … Expand

    I feel as though that this game is definitely revolutionary for open world games. While this game is not for people who can't really get involved into the story. I do suggest that you play the first game so a lot of names and locations will be familiar.

    Absolutely stunning game in all facets. I can't stop smiling when I'm just riding around the open world because it looks so beautiful. Fun story, crazy depth in the open world. Details, details, details everywhere. Absolutely meets and might exceed the hype. GOTY.

    RDR2 is with one word Amazing! I'm currently about 25hrs into my XOneX playthrough. So far I've not encountered even 1 stutter, its a rock solid 30FPS at NATIVE 4K resolution. I recommend playing it on the X vs the PRO since its runs at double the amount of Pixels & at better performance than the PSPro.     Very fantastic game. I think it's a mature game, with a little bit defaults but pleasure is more important than negative things. The best game I ever played for 25 years of gaming. Immersion is very amazing.

    Red dead redemption 2 is truly an amazing game to play and look at. It has awesome attention to detail and the story is phenomenal. There isn't really anything I can say bad about this game it is definitely one of the best story games I have played out there.

    Red dead redemption 2 is like fishing. Sometimes you just wanna relax and sit by a lake. Sometimes you’ll hook something that will really grab you other times you’ll fall asleep.

    It doesn’t matter if you are gamer, a human being, or an alien from another planet; Red Dead Redemption 2 is a title that you just can’t miss. The bar set by RDR2 is so high that even Rockstar itself will probably have a hard time raising it. One of the best releases in the history of digital entertainment.

    While it has some notable but minor flaws, it's hard to argue that Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a masterpiece. The end result of the meticulous detail, wonderful writing and stunning looks is an open world that sets a new bar for believability, and a time and place I can't stop thinking about or wanting to be a part of.
