    Gears 5 is an incredible experience with visuals above the norm for this generation, it's an absolute masterpiece in terms of visual make up and gameplay.

    The place where the game suffers the most is it's developers hunger for more money with monetisation which is doing more harm than good to the franchise, the multiplayer lacks freedom of selection with weapon skins often costing money    Gears 5 is an incredible experience with visuals above the norm for this generation, it's an absolute masterpiece in terms of visual make up and gameplay.

    me sigo quedando con los 3 primeros. De todas formas este Gears 5 si le quitan el mundo abierto y se centrasen en la acción podría haberse quedado en un juego a la altura de los primeros ya que en esta entrega estan volviendo a tomar el camino de los Locust y prescindir mas de los robots, algo que se agradece. Esperemos que en el 6 vayan directamente al grano y cierren la historia deme sigo quedando con los 3 primeros.     "Gears of Opinionated Alt-Chick" is not what fans of the series want. Get woke, go broke. If you want to be successful, you have to cater to the fanbase that brought you the success you had, instead of catering to SJW's who don't even buy your games. There is nothing cringier than being forced to play some feminist savior in a game that used to be about testosterone and war.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Kait and Del were the weakest part of Gears 4, now they take center stage. It's like following the adventures of two annoying millennials as they run around being "brave" and "stunning". Its all very woke 2019 social justice crap. JD has the misfortune of being male AND white and is thus disgraced by The Coalition so that the perfect, infallible Kait can take over as the generic "strong woman".

    JD just disappears at one point and we are told, not shown, that JD is now an a**hole for no real reason (completely disregarding the bond they formed in 4, but I digress...) and Kait and Del set out alone (no white males like Marcus allowed, apparently) and everyone stands around saying"good luck!" ... even though in the last game they literally dropped everything to help Kait find her mother.

    Kait and Del (sounds like a bad sitcom) venture into semi-open, very empty worlds/biomes and complete some fetch quests. There's a great callback to New Hope from Gears 2 with some truly top tier art direction. Marcus isn't there of course but he's nice enough to be on a radio at their beck and call. There's some great lore/story beats and action segments, boss fights, etc.

    They eventualy accomplish the mission and go to the next large, empty biome where Paduk, who doesn't like anyone, instantly trusts and respects Kait because 2019 wahman. He also makes a point to treat James Fenix (the son of the man he actually knows) like crap. Again, 2019 wahman. That's right, JD just shows up, is super nice, submissive and helpful as Kait and Del treat him like dog sh*t. Completely disregarding the events of 4. Again.

    They do some stuff and JD tells Kait that she's really good at everything (no joke, he really does this). Then it finally goes back to being a Gears game with tight, combat focused gameplay and great set pieces. Then Gears asks you if you want to save JD or Del. My personal opinion on this is that this was done so that Rod Fergusson could p*** in the faces of those who chose to save JD when he forces the cannon choice in Gears 6. Getting some woke points on twitter and angering fans.

    Pros:
    + Outstanding graphical fidelity, 4k/60fps on XIX with beautiful HDR
    + Lighting, textures and art direction is superb
    + Combat and weapons are fantastic, small additions/changes are well done
    + Environmental destruction/usability during combat.
    + Sound design is very good
    + Sand and snow deformation technology adds to immersion
    + Some great bosses and mini bosses
    + Sense of scale is impressive
    + Expands/explains story and lore

    CONS:
    - Weakest leads in Gears history. Del is a plank of wood and Kait is just a stand in for "strong female protaganist in 2019". Both characters are given a sense of importance to the Gears verse that is unearned.
    - 2019 progressive propaganda at its most obvious (and shameless)
    - Friendly AI is the worst in the series. Epic levels of dumb from these bots.
    - Empty open worlds/biomes
    - Elevates Kait and Del by disgracing JD
    - Disgusting storefront loaded with high priced MTX's
    - Very grindy pvp/horde/escape modes
    - Large amounts of pandering to Mexico and alphabet people for some reason. Half of the banners are "pride" banners. ????
    - Lots (and lots) of walking segments
    - Buggy at launch
    - Game is almost unplayable at higher difficulties to to incompetent AI, wildly difficult enemies, bugs etc.
    - Not a typical Gears game. Aimed for God of War, wound up with Gears of Woke
    - Gears used to be a system seller. Not anymore
    - Worst story and campaign in the series, by far

    Get on GamePass or on sale. This feels like a spinoff title or DLC. This is not proper Gears of War.

    Okay Microsoft, you win. I'll buy the PS5 next gen over the Scarlett. No reason to destroy Gears like this.    … Expand

    Fan de gears 5, je trouve tous les modes de jeu réussis. La campagne m'a beaucoup plus notamment par le lien qu'elle fait avec des éléments de la première trilogie.

    The Graphic is stunning. I used to be my favorite. The Gears series were perfect until GOW 3. From GOW 1 to 3 the story is related perfectly with a great endings specially GOW 3. But in last 2 games GOW4 and 5 are just the same S*** different years. Gears 5 side missions were few and at least for the desert environment they could have used another vehicle.

This game has blown me away on changes, but these changes can very between good and bad, the reload button shouldn't be your bayonet or chainsaw, and the knife melee is too ridiculous beyond a reasonable doubt. This game suffers from the store and the iron currency they have implemented and they over price these item's like it's a F2P game. Horde doesn't seem like it made much improvement and has very little customization in it, I can't help but notice I can't choose my skin with a certain play style. The gameplay and the look of the game is amazing, the campaign, my most favorite in the series, and although the open world was meat, you're just trying to get out of the skiff to get to the next mission.… Expand

    The new edition of Jack gives the game a new dimension.     The new shooting mechanics feel good.
    Few bugs i would hope they have fixed by now like floating AI or AI stuck in walls.

    Multiplayer is okay. Visually is so great and new game modes were a welcomed change. Had many non "gearheads" try it on GamePass and enjoy arcade mode as it's less of a Gnasher fest.

    Search times can be long in Australia so needs a quickmatch mode where it will just put you in any available game no matter what mode it is. Add the ability to filter what you search for like the latest COD modern warfare.

    The micro transactions hysteria has been blown out of proportion. For example nearly everything you can ONLY unlock by playing the game. There are only a couple of cosmetics you can buy which change weekly.

    Pay full price or play it on GamePass you cant go wrong.    … Expand

    Quizas el videojuego que mejor explota a esta generacion de consolas, con eso esta todo dicho. Buenos graficos, buena jugabilidad, buen surtido de armas, recursos bastante justos e incluso a veces escasos provocando mayor dificultad. Quizas lo mas decepcionante el boss final, para mi gusto demasiado sencillo comparado con los del resto del juego. Muy recomendable.

If you're a Gears of war fan (old or new) you should definitely pick it up, it's the best Gears of war game since Gears 3 seriously. I just finished the first Act and i can tell you that this act alone beats Gears 4 in its entirety. Action
    PACKED with great new mechanics (not highlighted in gameplay videos) exploration, the story looks interesting, with good dialogues, emotional moments, great score. And for the multiplayer, I just tested KOTH and Arcade, it plays way better than Gears 4.everyone think it is, her story is interesting.    … Expand

Gears 5 nos apresenta muitas melhorias, que renovam a saga, sem fazê-la perder sua identidade, nesse jogo um terceiro jogador pode assumir Jack, um robô que sempre nos acompanhou nos eventos dos jogos anteriores, apenas abrindo portas e no 3 até mesmo no combate, porém no quinto jogo da série, ele se mostra extremamente útil, é bastante fácil de se controlar e possui várias habilidades diferentes que podem ser melhoradas com o decorrer do jogo, porém pra isso, você também terá que explorar muito o jogo, exploração sendo o detalhe chave para Gears 5, o jogo tem 4 Atos, o 1 e o 4 são lineares como os outros jogos da saga, porém muito, MUITO maiores, os cenários são muito mais exploráveis e interessantes, repletos de informações e com um level design ótimo, não tendo a mesma impressão fechada dos anteriores (não que fosse um problema), aonde temos diversos componentes para ajudar a evoluir o Jack. O ato 2 e 3 possuem um mundo semi aberto, com diversas side quests rápidas de se fazer, é bastante interessante de se explorar e bastante divertido, faz o mundo do jogo parecer muito maior, além de dar mais diálogos e combates extras. A história do jogo é excelente, de início eu fiquei com medo de quê com tantos personagens, o jogo não exploraria a maioria, porém felizmente eu estava errado, o jogo aproveita muito bem todos seus personagens, incluindo algumas caras antigas que voltam pra ação, tudo funciona muito bem, o jogo usa uma trama menor de Gears of war 2, trama essa dos dois primeiros capítulos do Ato 3 do 2jogo, que mostrava um pouco a origem dos Locusts e nesse jogo acabou por ser o tema central, o que é fantástico, o jogo nos dá várias respostas sobre coisas que eu nunca pensei que seriam respondidas, ao mesmo tempo que novas perguntas. Os gráficos e áudio do jogo são indescritíveis, belíssimos , enquanto a física é ótima, apesar de não tão boa quanto na trilogia original. A trilha sonora é uma das melhores coisas do jogo, ESPETACULAR, recomendo procurarem as trilhas no Youtube, eles refizeram as melhores trilhas da série de uma forma nova e épica, assim como criaram novas trlhas excelentes, é uma das melhores já feitas pra série! O design dos inimigos está espetacular, os Swarm finalmente possuem identidade própria agora, ao contrário do quarto jogo, aonde eles tinham um visual bem medíocre, os novos inimigos funcionam muito bem também, o jogo tem uma quantidade de classes inimigas altas, o que é bem legal. Os controles do jogo respondem muito bem e são uma extensão do Gears of war 4, porém de novidade, usamos muito armas brancas agora, facas, marretas, etc. As novas armas são ótimas, especialmente a Lancer GL, que eu pensei que seria apenas uma arma medíocre e acabou sendo uma das minhas favoritas, ela funciona como uma versão pequena do Morteiro dos jogos antigos, é bem massa! O jogo está disponível em um bom número de plataformas, o que é ótimo, é possível jogar entre platafomas, o que também é ótimo. Os produtores tem dado muita atenção para a comunidade e respondido a vários questionamentos e críticas construtivas, o que também é muito bom, além de terem prometido e já entregado conteúdo de tempos em tempos. A opção de jogar em até 3 pessoas a campanha também é espetacular, só espero que no próximo jogo seja possível jogar em até 4 pessoas. O multiplayer está...bom, o modo Horda está espetacular, eu já fiz as 50 ondas com meus amigos, muito melhor que o do 4, assim como o novo modo Escape está muito bom, bem rápido de se jogar e viciante, ele também possui um modo de criação de mapas que está no beta e eu achei legal apesar de não ter testado muito, porém o Versus do jogo está bem medíocre, poucos mapas, balanceamento razoável, muitas microtransações ridículas e simplesmente não está tão competitivo quanto o Gears 4, que eu ainda estou jogando, por ser muito melhor no sentido hardcore, além de também ter o modo Arcade quer é pra quem não tem tanta experiência no Multi de Gears e quer algo mais simples, funciona bem, é legalzinho, mas felizmente o jogo está com os servidores lotados, sendo o maior sucesso da Xbox Live desde Halo 4, de 2012. Gears 5 também tem opção de jogos customizados, podendo colocar um nome na sala, o que é excelente. Gears 5 é um dos, se não o melhor jogo de Xbox One/Windows 10 dessa geração, a Microsoft acertou em cheio com o jogo, apesar do multiplayer ainda estar precisando de mais atenção,é uma experiência única e obrigatória para os fãs, traz muitas novidades que mostram que Gears of war ainda pode impressionar MUITO, o jogo está repleto de conteúdo e é uma experiência espetacular, além de estar no XGP… Expand

There are a number of memorable set-pieces found throughout the finely tuned linear sections of the campaign. Its also one of the best looking games of the generation, with at times, awe-inspiring art design.

    Coalition took some interesting steps for this sequel, but sadly, they fall short of previous iterations. The newer characters, despite now having two games to be developed across, are far less interesting than the originals (Del and JD are both such a bore). This impacts the narrative also, which despite some interesting story threads, does not hit home in the same way because of these characters. The game is just not as gritty or as dark as previous games. Furthermore, the new weapons added this time around are far less satisfying or useful than previous additions. The open world design in the game's two biggest Acts, like the case with Metro Exodus earlier this year, ruins the tempo and has little genuine benefit to reward the exploration. Jack's ability's, although neat, are far from necessary to progress.

    The variety in multiplayer modes, a strength throughout the series, is maintained here. Each offering something different. Having only 7 maps in Versus is a real disappointment however, and these multiplayer maps are missing the dynamic features seen previously, resulting in Versus specifically, feeling like a step backwards. Lastly, there are very few customisation options at launch.

    Overall, its a good game despite my criticisms, and nice addition to the series. Its just moved away slightly from what i believe made the series so great.    … Expand

    This game was designed by **** monkeys who have mistakingly abandoned the core aspects of what makes Gears of War unique and fun. This game not does not function properly with **** servers, but is horribly missing content, and has sadly gone down the ****, corporate path of Microtransaction hell and premium fortnite currency trash.

    TC can only try to take advantage of fans for so long before they bail. Gears 5 was rushed to release and full of bugs and cash grab tactics. Not only are the devs delusional about the game being broken, they pump out base content like curb stomps and expect to charge real $$ for them. TC has destroyed Gears, only hope is Gow2 UE. Gears 5 is a disgrace to the Gears of War legacy.

    So Gears 5... The story/campaign mode is superb and a absolute blast to play, if you have Game Pass I would highly suggest giving it a go but I would suggest playing through the series first as it does have a fair amount of call backs! Even to Judgment!

    Graphically its gorgeous but keep in mind I played it on a XBOX ONE X, I have no idea how it looks of Base XBOX ONE BUT the    So Gears 5...     Another awesome shooter you can't get on any other console. Great story that advances the Gears universe into a whole new direction. Great open world gameplay and design, a real positive change to the series. The multiplayer has something for everyone. Horde, escape, PvP, all top excellent.

    Apartado visual increible, historia entretenida y variada, el multijugador es disfrutable en ciertos aspectos aunque en varios otros falla como calibración de algunas armas, la banda sonora es muy buena y es muy notable la mejora de animaciones y movimientos, simplemente es un buen juego para pasar un buen rato

    Si buscas gear esto es lo que es sin más ha mejorado la jugabilidad el apartado técnico aunque la historia es cada vez más floja pero ofrece lo que ofrece siempre el gears of war.
    La zona abierta de nieve y desierto sobran totalmente se siente forzada para alargar el juego.
    Multijugador bueno.

    Minor details don't allow me to give it a perfect 10. I wish it would be a bit longer, some minor AI errors, players (not me) experienced disconnections but, its great and yes, the best Gears ever created.

No hay juego de accion que le llegue a los tobillos en lo mas minimo. Es contundente, salvaje y su jugabilidad y control perfecta.     Campaign: is amazing, Coop or Single player the game delivers, and bring new characters enemies and a lot more.
    Online: not the best, gears of war 4 is better than this so far, but it can still improve a lot.

    I Have nothing bad to say about Gears. All modes are great. The campain is epic, the multiplayer is addicting and competitive and the Horde and Escape modes are fun.

    Playing this on the xbox one acts in 4K is absolutely stunning amazing!. Played over 200 hours and I don't even think I'm 20% into the game yet. It's Insane the multiplayer is amazing!

    This is the first Gears that I played. At first I was sceptical of the controller scheme but after an hour I was all ready used to it. I finished the campaign after 18 hours. Graphics 10, sound 10, character movement 8

    El mejor Gears a la fecha, épico e impresionante. La jugabilidad es la clásica con algunas mejoras para mantenernos entretenidos pero conservando su escencia. Las partes de mapa abierto son una bocanada de aire fresco y a nivel técnico es espectacular en Xbox One X corriendo la campaña a 4k y 60fps.

    Todo lo que esperas de la saga, pero con mas contenido, mundo abierto, nuevas mecicas, misiones secundarias que te ayudan a mejorar habilidades y referencias a anteriores entregas e la saga.

    Que dire à part que j’adore ! L’histoire est génial et suis les précédents opus, la musique est sublime ! Le mode horde est moins bien que le 4 mais tout de même bien ! Concernant le reste du multijoueur on reste sur du bon classique !

    This game gives enjoyable time for player. Story mode is really joyful, and the game inscribe curious future for further developments event though short game time. However, I cannot say that, multiplayer mode has lots of different modes, so the creators have to focus on multiplayer in order to expand playable facilities for fans of GoW.

    A truly engrossing campaign and gorgeous graphics make this a must-buy for fans of the Gears franchise. The only thing keeping it from a 10/10 are the constant issues with online connectivity, particularly when the developers offer time-sensitive XP boosts that are wasted due to disconnections and server problems that can last for hours.

    This game is Broke! Simple as that, I have always enjoyed gears games, but I cannot even complete this game because of the game breaking bugs, specifically in act 3. During my play through in act 3 chapter 3 I got the skiff bug (look it up, plenty of videos and comments about this) which completely prevents further progression. No after putting the game down for a couple weeks to wait forThis game is Broke! I finally decided just to go back and replay a bunch of stuff....now the upgrade components for jack are bugged out and I cannot pick them up to upgrade jack and complete a side mission....This is absolutely terrible to have this many game breaking bugs in a triple A first party game. The graphics and game play are good, but the lack of urgency to fix these issues or make sure they work before release is pathetic.… Expand

    Absolutely loved the entire campaign. Beautifully designed and amazing graphics in 4k. Back to the gears of war classic gameplay mechanics with all the newest update feels. 5* for me.

    Gears 5 is an odd thing; it's neither a grand leap forwards, nor a complete rehash of what came before, and therefore sits somewhere in the middle of the two. On the whole, the improvements do outweigh the negatives (the non-linear approach to campaign levels and the small changes to horde mode being some of the most notable), and while The Coalition still has some work to do to really make the series its own, this is a far bolder and more varied approach the relatively safe Gears 4. If you love shooters and you want a good place to jump back into the series, this is perfect place to work the rust out of your lancer.

If you have intentionally avoided games from this series, the fifth sequel probably won´t change your mind, but if you are looking for a quality action game and you are still a fan of multiplayer, try it.     Gears 5 proposes a breathtaking solo campaign and a generous array of multiplayer modes. Even if the recipe remains classic, we really want to go through with it. The characters are rather well written, the environments are often spectacular, and Jack the robot adds some salt to the gameplay. A visual feast and glorious action game that perfectly demonstrate Xbox One X's true power.
