    Everyone seems to love Gears 5, and I liked it pretty well overall. There is plenty of action like all Gears games. Lots of shooting aliens. They attempted some open areas in the game- which I really didn’t care for too much. I especially hated the “skiff” in the snow & desert. Every time I came back to get on it- it wouldn’t work! I had to reload my save & try again. Very annoying. SomeEveryone seems to love Gears 5, and I liked it pretty well overall. There is plenty of action like all Gears games. Lots of shooting aliens. They attempted some open areas in the game- which I really didn’t care for too much. I especially hated the “skiff” in the snow & desert. Every time I came back to get on it- it wouldn’t work! I had to reload my save & try again. Very annoying. Some of the chapters were very long & the game could have moved ahead at a quicker pace. What makes a good game good is the story and its feeling in the style it represents, however in this game it is more shown that the game is great for its graphics and people don't seem to see the story doesn't really represent what it was made to be as, to show how the art of war is like (though yes this is typically war in gears 4 and 5 keep reading forward to see what I mean). They made the enemy come back with no explanations of how they came back and simply did what the original games NEVER did, shared secrets and made the story about just 1 person, also what are the odds that the grand daughter of the locust queen is with the son of the person that ended the war. It makes me sad to see the gears franchise to be changed when the ending it originally had was perfect. I've played the gears series ever since I was a child and never had criticized the games, so I'm hoping that this franchise will have a turn around and is ended where it should be ended this time.… Expand

    Other than the day one bugs and server issues this is hands down the best Gears since 2 and 3. The open world elements are kind of bare and there’s nothing really unique about it other than optional side quests which that too are bare for the most part. Act 2 is definitely stronger in its open world than Act 3. Playing as Kait makes it even more interesting. The multiplayer is great but new game modes such as Horde Escape are very lacklustre as don’t seem to add much to the experience. Horde is a lot more fun after a few major updates which is good to see There are microtransactions but new content becomes free after a week of release. Honestly wish they’d just make it all free or make multiplayer free to play. MTX are cosmetic only. This game deserves a GOTY nomination. It doesn't necessarily have to win the award but it deserves a nomination at the least.… Expand

    Amazing, a proper AAA game from Microsoft. Takes all that's good from gears 4 and ramps it up to 10.
    Probably the best graphic of this generation. A true return of the legendary franchise..

    As many people have already pointed out Gears 5 has a really good package of everything you could want from a Game of this genre. The graphics are gorgeous and more important the gameplay is even better than before, from fluid movements over the even more responsive cover system to the overvault Weapons (+the new ones). In gears 5 the story isn’t just good on its own but it really fits well in the overall Gears story. Came back a few months later to finish it after being spoiled by some **** on the internet and.. yep I see why I put it down for so long. The graphics are the best part of this game easily, but I think I still prefer Gears 4’s aesthetic compared to 5.I really wanted to like this game, I truly did. It’s a serviceable shooter, the minor changes they made to combat somehow turned me off from the shooting here. But when most enemies are bullet sponges, you just kinda brainlessly shoot until they explode. Really not engaging gameplay here guys. The story is ok I guess? I feel like I need to play the trilogy still to get some of the deeper plot here but I don’t think that would help at this point lol. Kait’s story is interesting, but as a character I just don’t find her that interesting. Same with the rest of the cast honestly, aside from Marcus obviously. When he told Fahz to stfu, that was probably the best part of the game. Overall, I just really didn’t have fun with this entry. I don’t think I’d ever play it again honestly.… Expand

    Gears 5 is meh 3rd person shooter. It's pretty fun for one play through but with no New Game Plus or any level up system carry over there no point playing again. Shows the 1 x technical prowess but at it's core is just a pretty bland shooter

If you want to be successful, you have to cater to the fanbase that brought you the success you had, instead of catering to SJW's who don't even buy your games.     It's more Gears which you already know if it is for you or not. Decent enough title but for me, just too much more of the same and the open world sections only served to pad out the play time whilst adding nothing to the genre. Gunplay is great as always and the graphics are top notch.

    Un juego que si no es mejor que el 2 y 3, supo adaptarse a la generación implementando diversos mapas y tipos de ecosistemas para dar una experiencia distinta a lo que estábamos acostumbrados, la idea de que marcus, baird y cole cada vez pierden más protagonismo me pone algo triste pero supongo así son lo cambios y ojalá logren adaptar gears 6 a lo que nos tenían acostumbrado Epic Games.

    El multijugador está bien y a 60 FPS en XONE y en XSeries X a 120 FPS hace una agradable experiencia y el modo Horda mejoró en comparación al desastre de Gears of war 4.

    Espero que The Coalition en sus proximas secuelas mejoren la coerencia y diseño del modo campaña y si presentan nuevos personajes principales no creen el estereotipo de empoderamiento. haciendo al personaje predecible aburrido y antipatico.    … Expand

    I played the game on xbox series x, it was the first game I played on the console and I loved every minute of it. I have played almost all of the gears games and this one might be the best. The story, gameplay, graphics, visuals, and music are all amazing.

    What let it down was that some locations were rather barren, and most locations were bereft of life. If they had added birds, insects, more atmospheric dust effects and so on, the areas would've felt much more real and the game would've been much better.

However, very little has changed since the series made its debut back in 2006. In addition to the story mode, this sequel includes Horde, Multiplayer and Escape; a cooperative survival mode. It provides a nice challenge, but isn't as addicting as Horde. The open world levels are comparable to the chapter in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy in which you could explore and discover optional missions. I think part of it is because Gears 5 is just outperforming my expectations by a country-mile. Gears of War 4 hadn't really blown by skirt up in that it was a decent Gears game with a decent story but I kept feeling like the formula was feeling a touch stale. Gears 5 would be in troubleI don't know the last time I rated a game a 10 - I'm not convinced I've ever done it, but here we are. I think part of it is because Gears 5 is just outperforming my expectations by a country-mile. Gears of War 4 hadn't really blown by skirt up in that it was a decent Gears game with a decent story but I kept feeling like the formula was feeling a touch stale. Gears 5 would be in trouble for feeling repetitive but this time, the story is EXCELLENT, the voice acting is actually high quality, and the level design throughout it a huge win. And I'm roughly 13 hours into the campaign (almost done with it) and yet I still have the final chapters to play. The variance in gameplay, the dynamic pacing, and the deeper storytelling (with an awesome reveal of how the Locust Horde came to be) is what really puts this game a cut above. I think this game was sorely missed by a lot of gamers out there. The multiplayer continues to be roughly the same. There are some mild changes/updates, and with newer Xbox hardware everything plays silky-smooth, but otherwise, that aspect of the game seems to not be any major shift - and that's probably fine for most people. For me, the campaign becoming a bigger deal is what will make this game memorable and worthy of a replay. I know campaigns aren't always the highlight with social/multiplayer play being such a key focus these days, but Gears 5 has a story to tell and it's definitely worth tuning in for. If you're just trying to push through and not sink too many hours into that part of the game you'll be happy to know that there are ways to bypass "accessory missions" which are meant to equip you better down the road but are not mandatory to be successful. Still, I spent more time on the campaign because I spent time gearing up. Speaking of which, the significance and utility of Jack is something of a revelation for this series by giving you some cool future-like technology without interrupting the feel of the game.… Expand

    Es un buen juego, no es el mejor de la saga pero cumple, aunque la historia no es la mejor el modo multijugador es entretenido y mantiene la esencia.
    Si eres fan de la saga te lo recomiendo, y si tienes gamepass pruebalo a ver si te gusta.

    As a long time fan of the gears franchise I've religiously followed this game throughout the years. When I heard that gears of War was coming back, I was skeptical at first. But then gears 4 footage came out and it looked decent. I played it and I did not love it, it felt incomplete. Too much focus on the multi-player mode, depressing    One of the biggest disappointments I've ever played.

But then gears 4 footage came out and it looked decent. I played it and I did not love it, it felt incomplete. Too much focus on the multi-player mode, depressing coming from a game with rich lore and history. When this game came out it was almost the same thing. I expected the story and the gameplay to improve, since the gears of war 4 ends with a lingering question. They still had their focus on the multi-player, I'm lead to believe that the story mode was second to them. It lacked the detail and grittines that it's Xbox 360 predecessors had.
    They had 13 years to improve and make new stuff happen and yet. We get the one of the worst games that has come out of the gears franchise.

    It also made me very motion sick. I do not recommend this at all.    … Expand

    Builds on the already amazing third person cover schooter With some new elements, weapons and a very good story
    Gears 4 was ok, but gears 5 takes the franchise to a new level This might be the best Xbox one game

    Gears Of Woke 5: yet another game with kickass women and manservants. What could possibly go wrong? And so another one of the few remaining non-feminized game series goes down the drain.

    + The story is good in this game, I liked the story more in this than the prevous game.
    + Best graphics on the base Xbox One.
    + The snow open world bit in the middle of the game is not very good. - Don't like the the reviving aspect of the game in singe player, never have.     = I didn't touch the multiplayer of the 5th game. The open world bit of the game makes up a large part of the game and this part of the game is just not as good, the game isn't really suited to been open world with it's stiff feeling controls and stiff camara. These parts of the game just have bad pacing. The snow area of the game isn't even very pretty to explore and exploration is a big part of what makes open worlds fun. The later open area in the desert is more intresting to look at and a big improvement. But riding the sled thing still feels a bit like a long loading screen between areas.    … Expand

    I wavered between a 6 and 7 on this game. I was a huge gears fan from the original through gears 3. Gears 4 was decent with the exception of the random loot boxes and the season pass. I had high hopes for Gears 5. The best word to describe Gears 5 at launch is stingy. Hardly any skins for characters, weapons, and only about 7 maps. The Gears 4 loot box horror is over, but the micro transactions are still bad. Initially Gears 5 was pushing their iron currency, but then later changed some items to cash only. Buying iron early on with cash while it was on sale only to see that some items went cash only, was pretty crappy. Gears 5 reminds me of a free to play game that survives, maybe thrives, based on some gamers buying micro transactions. Problem is, they sell the game for normal price, unless you use game pass. Maybe the fact that it released for free on Gamepass is why it was so stingy at launch with content.… Expand

    El multijugador más decadente de todos,admito que la campaña es buena pero realmente Gears siempre se ha caracterizado por su multijugador este es muy pobre además que está en un pésimo estado Armas mal equlibardas Mal sistema de ranking
    Escopeta asquerosamente deficiente Falta de contenido Bugs y más bugs este juego se fue a la mierda en La primera operación

    After GoW 4 I thought I will never play Gears again,because the series was tired.Gears 5 managed to keep the fun part of the core gameplay and bring in some new elements.It feels familiar,yet new.The linearcampaign levels were changed into some semi open world levels.

    This is Clearly the Game that the Coallition was Destinated to Create, a Very Good Campaign that Remember to the Original Trilogy Made by Epic Games but with Semi-Open World and a Solid Multiplayer Experience

    Rating it based on the campaign only. Top notch graphic. Level design is fantastic. There is room to explore. Most important, it kept the original Gears DNA. It's a must play for any Gears fan and a strong play for any fans of shooters.

    Best shooter 2019 without doubt. Another great Gears game. Story and multiplayer are better that Gears of War 4. The game evolves but still has its essence. Well done The Coalition.

    Bom jogo multiplataforma, teve uma pequena melhora em comparação ao Gears of War 4.
    Mais um jogavel de qualidade ok, o mundo semi aberto não mudou a impressão de jogar em um corredor.
    Outro ponto que nunca muda rolada, rolada, tiro de 12.

    El juego es epico, tiene los mejores gráficos de la generacion, Solo XBOX puede brindarnos esta calidad de gráficos y rendimiento, quedaron muy ardidos los piperos de sony.

    Está bueno el juego, el modo historia está un poco corto comparado con los primeros gears pero fuera de eso tiene un multijugador muy bueno a excepción de una comunidad muy tóxica

    Uno de mis favoritos de la saga junto con el 3, y de mis favoritos de esta generación. La historia me ha encantado y su online como siempre de lo mejor.

    Gears 5 is an odd thing; it's neither a grand leap forwards, nor a complete rehash of what came before, and therefore sits somewhere in the middle of the two. On the whole, the improvements do outweigh the negatives (the non-linear approach to campaign levels and the small changes to horde mode being some of the most notable), and while The Coalition still has some work to do to really make the series its own, this is a far bolder and more varied approach the relatively safe Gears 4. If you love shooters and you want a good place to jump back into the series, this is perfect place to work the rust out of your lancer.

    Gears 5 offers a solid portion of brutal action with several refreshing new things. If you have intentionally avoided games from this series, the fifth sequel probably won´t change your mind, but if you are looking for a quality action game and you are still a fan of multiplayer, try it.     Gears 5 proposes a breathtaking solo campaign and a generous array of multiplayer modes. Even if the recipe remains classic, we really want to go through with it. The characters are rather well written, the environments are often spectacular, and Jack the robot adds some salt to the gameplay. A visual feast and glorious action game that perfectly demonstrate Xbox One X's true power.
