This game is simply BROKEN! DO NOT buy on Xbox One. CD Projekt and Sony both offered refunds for this faulty product. Microsoft refused me a refund after I pre-ordered it digitally from the Microsoft Store, which shows how little they care about their customers so I will now make the switch over to Sony after 19 years of loyalty to Microsoft.

Rough diamond.

After playing it for few hours:

    A BUGGY MESS!

I got to the stage where i wonder weather its a bug or is it a part of the game. Game freezes, drops out to dashboard, enemies are flying like balls in Pinball Dreams on amiga etc. This game shouldnt have been published yet. Am playing it on one x and i am really not impressed. Am sure tho - once its patched up it will be a great game, but for now its unplayable.

clothing, weapon and item design, 10/10, near-perfect --

Character and general side quest writing - 10/10, second only to Red Dead 2, although Panam is essentially the best romance ever in gaming, Judy is clearly amazing, River, Kerry and the mayor quests are very well done, Sinnerman is perfect, and there are at least ten side quests I will remember forever.

Main quest, 9/10 - better than Witcher 3, as Keanu Reeves is significantly more interesting than Ciri, and each quest is meaty as **** (example: parade quest, genius, so effin' good). Also some great thoughts on identity, consequence, and the past coming back to haunt you (or make you heart-warmingly melt).

Gameplay - 9/10 - Hyper fun, everything feels good, doublejump/charge jump changes the nature of the game and exploration, stealth is underdeveloped

Music/sound - 10 - Even the stations that have music I wouldn't typically enjoy are clearly well produced and self evidently awesome. Insanely well done. Guns are meaty, crunchy, crispy and everything in between. Katanas sound lovely. Voice acting is effing great almost always.

performance - F - sucks **** but of course it does, the content of the game does and performance does not subtract that many points.

The game is quite buggy *(Updates seem to be making improvements), however the core game is really good. Were it not for the bugs I would rate it 8.5-9.5 (I have other qualms but that is true of any game). However, you cannot deny the bugs are there and annoying. That said, I still enjoy the game, so slightly above neutral seems appropriate.

Where No Man's Sky failed to deliver fundamental aspects of their game as promised, and Andromeda was buggy with content that was not very compelling or deep. This is more akin to Fallout 3 or 4, where there are many bugs, but the game is engaging, immersive, and has fantastic depth of story, characters, and universe (probably more than Fallout 4). Do I think this is an acceptable state for a game to be released in? No. But I am also not going to say we should abandon hope for it yet.

I recommend you buy this game on PC. However, if you want to buy the game on a console (or already own it) you could wait for the next generation release, or the game to have its bug fixed.

That said, if the game is still of interest and if you can be patient and navigate the bugs, Right now the game is largely playable (on Xbox One S or X), and some of the bugs will give you a laugh.

I rarely felt like I was in a role-playing game, just a shooter with extra steps. The character creator was (not that it mattered) easy to make a mistake in and there is no way to correct it. It was also a far cry from what was shown in the trailer. The story was...okay, usualy only offering you two options and only rarely multiple dynamic pathways. If you like romance stories, CDPR really over sold those. The combat is often fun for a first-person shooter but nothing that stands out from what else everyone is already playing. Maybe if they fix enough of the bugs the game will be alright. Expand

Then scramble to fix it later? They lied to Sony and Microsoft about the state of the game on the current gen consoles. It's simply fraud. If you like the game as it is, - great! Please, just take a step back and understand that this game you love is only 5/10 of what it was meant to be, you're basically denying yourself an even better game by kissing CDPRs ass and saying that they did a good job. They didn't.

I will get this out of the way at the top: without all the bugs and crashes and technical issues, I'd say this game would easily be a 9/10 or so. From the 2/3rds of the game I got to play that were almost bug free for me on the Series X, I was heavily drawn into the world and most of its characters, with a combat system that I personally enjoyed. Things like quests and the conversations had a very Skyrim feel to them and I really got invested in alot of the things that were happening. I really didnt like the main character, V, though as he really changes personalities from the main story missions and the side missions. They always felt like a gangster wannabe punk that I never gelled with at all. Also the AI for the enemies is just so bad. Never felt like they really understood anything they were supposed to do the entire game. Never really used cover or extra attacks unless they were specifically the hacker who was meant to do that. But those two things on their own wasnt enough to ruin the experience for me.
Once I hit Act 3, my shiny almost bug free experience with the game went straight out the window. I once crashed 4 times in a row during the same mission, but not once at the same point, causing me to put it down for the day. The number of characters I saw in T-poses and glitching through doors and getting stuck in the air when they jumped just skyrocketed after I hit that point. It doesnt help either that Act 3 is literally 95% side missions with alot of the best ones in the entire game. They were the missions I had been actively trying to get to for most of the game, until the high amount of glitches took me out of it. I literally just tried to just finish up the main story missions a few minutes ago just to complete the game but it crashed twice on me before the final part. I think i'm done with this game until they fix this absolute mess. There's so much wrong here that I dont know if the 2 months worth of patches alone will fix this. And I cant even imagine someone who has a base Xbox 1 trying to even attempt to play this if it was this bad on a Series X. I gave it the score I did because I really did enjoy the parts I could play. But this deserves a 0 based on the lies CDPR spewed out before launch trying to just sell units. How disgraceful

First of all let's get few key elements of my review:

    1. The game has a lot of bugs but there have been other games way worst for example Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Fallout 76, etc.
    2. I was shock when I saw a lot of people getting into Cyberpunk 2077 people that has never play an RPG and that was a bad sign. This kind of people says that the gameplay feels bad, shooting, driving, fighting. That's normal on this kind of RPG's for example Dragon Age Inquisition great game but the combat was average or below average. The same with Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Skyrim, Mass Effect, Fallout you name it what does this games have in common that their core gameplay is normal or basic but the whole experience of the game makes it great. So if you don't like games like that don't buy it THIS GAME IS NOT FOR YOU.

    Back to my review
I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One X the second it was available to play my digital copy(just to clarify i bought the game twice digital and physical I'm not from the US so the disk version takes at least a week to arrive so I went for bought to avoid spoilers) at first it felt unstable with frame drops and only crash once after ver 1.04 things improved A LOT in some times the game froze for a few seconds when you entered a different part of the city now this problem is gone and only feels like a half a second "load time" in a 50+ hours into the game only crashed like 3 or 4 times. The bugs are the usual you can expect in game of this type and size so far noting really drastic that would make me quit, there is one annoying thing that when you destroy an item for it's components the parts that you get pop out "common or rare parts" well this message repeats every time you enter the pause menu.

I'm not going to tell about the story just that is amazing all the main characters are well done. Love the voice acting for female V is great at least on my first run, planning on doing the second with a male V and different life path. The gigs or side mission are interesting and offer and interesting bunch of quests, and every one of these has backstory that you can read in shards or emails and understand why this person is doing this and that.

Now the gameplay and i will be comparing with other games... Ok all the driving, shooting, fighting, stealth, quick hacking it gets the job done. But all depends on you play style if you are a simple minded folk you are going to use force, shooting on site and use your brute force you can do this buy will be missing a lot of things. There are many ways to get your job done and doing it with a mix of this and that is such a great experience. I usually use my stealth (cool), Tech and Intelligence to take all my enemies with distractions and engaging only when necessary.

But you will be surprise the amount of times you can get out of trouble just speaking and that adds lot of points in my book to Cyberpunk and the same thing happens to my with Mass Effect I can spend hours without firing my gun. Let's talk about you Cyberware and skill tree, if you played Deus Ex HR or MD your skill were the same as your augments pretty basic you gain level you gain a praxy point to unlock new abilities. In Cyberpunk leveling up gives you atribute points to spend in the main stats but each of this stats sub divided in skills and you get skill points by your play style so you can build your preferred "class" and every scenario has multiple entry points for example you can just shoot your way in, go around the back and use your tech skill to open a door or force open a door if you have enough strength.

The way you use your Cyberware is great with a cooldown ram system this way you are not force to get Biocel like in Deus Ex because your energy eventually would run out and you can get some very use full daemon aka malware if you have enough ram you can shut down an enemy or overload their senses to so they don't call for backup and you quickly slices him in half with your katana or mantis blade.

Well I'm going to wrap up this not proper review because haven't finished the game yet because I'm really having a great time with it but nevertheless Cyberpunk 2077 is a great game for Science Fiction lovers like me and even better if it's "Cyberpunk genre game" there are only a handful out there worth mentioning. Probably with later patches and when the next gen version is out my score is going to be higher.

As a conclusion if you have a PS4 Pro, Xbox One X or next gen console go for it and gamers should focus more on actually playing the game and having fun rather nitpicking everything as excuse to spread hate in the big bad corporations. Finally as general critic i really hope that all the people here submitting their reviews at least bought and played the game if not your though are pointless.

I can't give this game anything higher than a 0 out of 10 because it doesn't play on a ps4 or xbone. It may in the future be patched so it at least works. But currently it is so broken it has been removed from the Sony play store and Microsoft are now also offering refunds.

Imagine Anthem and Fallout 76 had a one night stand... Cyberpunk 2077 would be the abortion of this unholy union!

Don't expect to play or enjoy this game on current gen consoles. I also highly doubt that this game will ever be patched to where it is comparative to GTA, Witcher 3 or Saints Row. The focus was too much on next gen graphics than on the basics like AI, UI, gameplay and mechanics.

Xbox One S - there aren't too many bugs for me - had some, but not too bad overall, but if it kicks in, it kinda goes of the charts with bugs stacking one after another, which is rather immersion breaking.

The visuals are disappointing, there are games that look much better and have more stable frame rates despite better visuals, so that could be done better - I'm well aware of the X-One's HW limitations, but still... CDPR already promised to work on it, so that's something, I guess.

The game freezes and crashes a lot for me - it'll freeze up completely every 30-60 minutes, and in about 1 out of 3 cases of it freezing, it will crash. It has lost me some progress and made me save manually a lot, despite the very generous automatic save measures. Still though, they have led to me having to re-run some content, which is annoying as f*** and made me not re-start the game several times, because I just didn't want to do the same crap all over again, and this is my biggest issue with the game.

The story and characters in the game are great, I would say they definitely meet my expectations, at least so far (in Act 2 right now), and I like that the story so far has been more focused on the personal aspect of the MC's life and struggle to the top, rather than some world saving stunts. There's a bunch of cyberpunk / future-noir games focused on a heroic struggle of good and evil, so a story from the point of view of someone who is not inherently in it to change the whole world, but instead to find a place in it is very welcome.

I am also satisfied with the combat mechanics, the movement and driving, though all of it needs some polish - movement, especially melee fighting, is a bit janky at times, some guns feel like peashooters and the car handling is a bit off - sometimes, the cars seem to randomly change their steering circle so you either don't turn quick enough or you turn too quick, some of the cars also feel weird - as if they were on ice, but somehow also had 100% grip all the time. It's not like the cars cannot be controlled, they just kinda feel off and slide-y (but not drifting - they don't really go out of control, it's really weird and hard to describe) at times when they should be steady, and control too well in situations where they should not.

Now, this is what I consider the main "core" of the game - the story and characters, the technical stuff and the main gameplay loop of moving around the city and fighting people. However, even if the bugs and the rest of the stuff were sorted out and fixed, I wouldn't give the game more than 7/10 - it may be great as far as it's world (the atmosphere of the city, etc.), story and characters go, but it would still be disappointing as an open world gaming experience (very limited interactivity) and it has a lot of missing or half baked features (or even quarter baked). The biggest problem here is the fact that there are games which have already done all of this better, and some of them are by CDPR, others are more than a decade old.

I'm running out of chars, so I will run the rest of the stuff down quickly:

    - AI is bad in all situations. Combat (braindead in all scenarios, it just "wallhacks" and "aimbots" on harder difficulties), non-combat pedestrian, driving - it's just bad.

    - Low interactivity with the world - everything is a menu, vendors sell the same stuff for the most part, often it does not correspond to what they advertise in 3D - and here it is really easy to see there was something else planned, but had to be scrapped and replaced with simpler system - you will go to seafood stall, ask the vendor if her shrimp is fresh, she will say yes. you will open the buy menu, and there is no shrimp, instead, she sells an assortment of canned drinks, soy products, sweets and hot dogs, same as every other food vendor. There is a lot of places where you could sit, but the game will not let you. Consumables have no animations, aside from some medical items, and most lack dedicated textures and 3D model and can be distinguished by only name and icon in menu. Casual dating was removed, one-night fun is only possible with two specific NPC "workers". You cannot dance, cannot really drink at a bar, there are no real minigames, the in-game TV is a very poor copy of GTA IV, no radio DJs.

    - Guns - (very) poor man's Borderlands, some really bad in regards to capability as well. Expected a lot more, perhaps something akin to Homefront: Revolution system. Pretty much anything would be better.

    - Clothes/customisation - very limited, also damage resist for some reason tied to gear when it can be modified by modding body with implants. Forces player to use what has best DR, instead of what they like, the selection is also really poor.

    - No visual customisation - character (past setup), car, apartment, guns, clothes, etc.

Some other stuff, no chars left. In conclusion: Daikatana 2.0 - overly ambitious, mostly poor execution.

    The Pros:
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most immersive games I have ever played. Night City is brimming with such detail that it's just pure joy to be in this world. From the towering skyscrapers and roadways that encase the streets of the city, the mountains of trash just outside the city limits, the shady alleys ways that feel like they could lead anywhere, and the diversity of each of Night City’s districts, cyberpunk’s detailed world is by far the best part of the game. This is coupled with great character interactions in the story. While the story itself is solid but didn't blow me away, the character interactions do. The characters are so interesting and show a wide range of emotions. The performances are truly great with of course the notable Keanu Reeves as Johnny SIlverhand. Even the main character V, while not the most unique protagonist, has enough emotion and character to be notable even in this RPG. Speaking of RPGs, another great thing about this game is its character progression. From the copious amounts of skills, weapons, clothes, and of course cyberware to choose from, the amount of builds for V are truly varied. And the mission design helps to make your build standout, although running and gunning may be the more basic option (more on that in con’s) it all still feels satisfying in the moment to moment gameplay.
The Cons: While cyberpunk is one of the most immersive games I have played, immersion is nothing without engamment. Because while immersion can bring you into a world, engagement is what makes that world feel alive, and this is where cyberpunk really slips up in my opinion. While missions themselves can be quite engaging, the open world itself is anything but. The main issue is NPC’s. The NPC’s in this game feel completely lifeless, reacting in the most artificial and bizarre ways. For example, in one part of the game I snuck up and killed an enemy stelathly. For some reason, everyone in the building I was in began crouching and huddling, even though they were nowhere near where I made the kill. It's things like this that make the world feel less like a city and more like an amusement park. Beyond the citizens of the cities, the gangs also feel artificial as well. You see, in the game you're a mercenary that takes jobs around the city. A lot of these jobs require you to interact with the different gangs. The issue is that no matter what you do, gangs don't respond to your actions. You can massacre an entire gang in the game and they wont do a thing. I really think this game needed a faction system or something, because without it the games world has no dynamic impact at all, making the open world of this game feel pointless. And to further this is the comically bad cops system. While in other open world games like Grand Theft Auto cops would give chase and hunt you down, in this game they don't. They just spawn out of thin air wherever you are, making the whole system disappointing. All these issues I have said take what is an detail and immersive world into a static theme park that barely reacts to the player and serves no use. Another issue is the level design. The thing is, the level design is really good, but if you go in guns blazing you completely miss out on this level design. It really only works from a stealth standpoint, making my katana wielding character get quite reptious after a while, where a stealthy character feels way more satisfying. Another issue is, of course, bugs and performance. I was playing this game on my Xbox One S, and while the game was playable for me even with frame rate drops and the bugs, I can not excuse other players' experience with this game on the base xbox one. For some people this game is unplayable at launch, and that simply can't be excused.
Conclusion: Cyberpunk 2077 is one part of the most immersive games I have ever played, with a detailed world and characters. And the other part is one of the most buggy and shallow open world games I have played. In my opinion this game should have either spent more time making the world interactive and giving it a reason to exist or ditched the open world design in favor of more intractable hub levels similar to Deus Ex, because honestly the best parts of this game where interacting with characters in these amazing levels and building my character. Everything else, the open world and NPC’s just felt lifeless and useless. In my personal experience, I would give this game a 7/10, with the possibility of an 8/10 if itn the future the developers can add to and fix this game. But also considering the near unplayable nature for some people on xbox one, I have to give this game a 6/10. This game needed way more time to be refined. I do hope though this isn't the end for cyberpunk, because the world that's here I think deserves to be expanded upon and explored more. I hope in the future with expansions and fixes this game can be refined, because the good stuff in this truly deserves to be seen.

Like Fallout 76, I hope the bugs are worked out in the coming year, and it's finally playable, but it won't fix the discordant mess, the genital selection system I can't un-see, or the 30+ minute game-within-a-game tutorial that could have just as easily been built into the game itself by skilled game designers. If your game requires players to play a virtual multi-level tutorial just to figure out how to play the game, you're doing something wrong. Most successful games will simply put you in a tutorial-like level when you first start the game, putting obstacles in your way, and stepping you through them: press X to jump, Y to crouch, Z to shoot. Oh, no, there's a door with a lock on it, let's figure out how to hack this lock. Stuff like that. Fallout 4 has the right idea, as does Deus Ex, The Outer Worlds, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls...you know, AAA games that aren't trying too hard to be European versions of GTA.

Maybe wait until the game's matured a little bit, and buy it then. Also, for the love of Cthulhu please read the ESRB web-site for this game. It has an M for Mature rating but I seriously think we need to start looking at the Ao rating again. This game is nothing like the M for Mature games my family has played for over a decade. Had I read the full ESRB rating on their web-site, I probably wouldn't have purchased this game - just like I haven't purchased any of the current GTA games, because I'm not a fan of interacting with hookers in a game - it's just too close to life. (But seriously, this game is NOT for kids.)

In summary, if Best Buy offered refunds on opened games, I would ask for a refund in a heartbeat. As it is, this game will sit on my shelf as a sad reminder not to buy games from random companies the industry doesn't yet trust. This is barely a AAA game.

Edit 12/18/2020: Was able to return the OPENED copy of this game to a Best Buy location which stated that they don't normally take back opened games, but because of all the problems, they have a permanent exception for this game in their system. They said they had the same issue with Witcher when it came out. If you pre-ordered, based on filtered information and lies, and don't like the game, return it to get your money back!

I played this game on Xbox One S and it's a complete bugfest. I play early-2000s games all the time so I'm used to games not being visually stunning but **** me did they mess up here. The graphics look like Plasticine until it's loaded properly and the only game that has crashed, frozen and hiccuped more for me is Fallout 4. This game got delayed for 7 months and the only reason the gaming community put up with all the delays was because we believed they were ironing out the kinks in the game but what the **** were they doing all that time?! Twiddling their thumbs, jerking off or bum****ing each other? It had 7 years of development time, exactly the same as RDR2 and that game is a visual and story masterpiece. That game ran perfectly on Xbox One and PS4 with nearly zero bugs and had the same time in development as RDR2. CP2077 had more than enough potential to exceed that. This is the only game I ever preordered and it came out broken despite way more than enough extra time to debug the game.

And despite all that, I enjoyed every single second of this game. As I mentioned before, the story, side quests and characters are perfection. That's the one area that CDPR didn't fail in. If you think you can put up with all the bugs and graphical issues, get it, on offer if you must. If you think that all the bugs and graphical issues will drive you to insanity, get the next-generation console and play it on there.

Because the next gen upgrade has not been released, I’m running the XB1 version on upgraded hardware. Here, the game runs great. I’ve had absolutely minimal issues with running this game. A couple floating objects here or there, one instance of frame rate drop during a hectic fight, and one crash, my first crash from any game on Series X. That being said, the game looks great, the story is great, and I’m having a lot of fun upgrading cyber ware and venturing around Night City. I’m into Act 2 right now and taking my time with the story because there are a lot of side jobs to keep me busy while exploring the city. I’m able to get 60fps in Performance mode along with 4K visuals. I’m excited to see what it looks like when we do eventually get the next gen upgrade, but I’m patient because I’d rather CDPR focus on optimizing this for those base consoles. I would venture to guess the biggest issues for last gen are twofold: HDD instead of SSD, and low Tflops in the GPU. Many, if not all assets in this game are L.O.D., and the memory demand to load that many assets into the game as needed is likely more than those systems can handle to keep it seamless and smooth. I get why people are mad but I thought I’d shine some positive light on this as for some of us it’s really not a bad experience. I already know I’ll be logging many hours into this game. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Enjoying Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Series X and it is just astonishing and outsatanding. Everytime I start the game it always has that wow effect, incredible. The missiins are very well designed and you never get bored, you just want to keep on going, so damn fun to play!! Referring bugs; I had 1 issue where Rougue uses her finger as a gun :) and minor bugs you always encounter in these kind of games, like an npc sticking in a door or floating guns. I can understand xbox one and ps4 users are angry, but here I am rating MY EXPERIENCE WITH CYBERPUNK 2077. Expand

    How do I rate entertainment media (books/music/cinema/video games/ animation/comics/manga):

    10. Groundbreaking. Revolutionised this art form. Should be used as a recommendation to non-consumers of this medium as it has crossover potential. This is exceedingly rare. 9. A work of art. Should be watched by everyone into this medium. 8. Magnificent. A must for every fan of this subgenre.

    Review:

CDPR forgot they are actually making a game rather than a political statement.

I will disregard the glitches which make it unplayable in its current form as they will find excuses on fixing this with a future patch. But I will concentrate on the main core of the game which is...it is boring. I am unable to connect with these characters, their motivations, their psyche, their raison d'etre. Why are they doing what they are doing? Why should I actually play the game? it is not fun. It is a flatline. Who wrote the dialogues and the main story line? Who were the voice actors? They are just reading from a script. Completely unbelievable and unable to impart any emotions.

The choice of first person view was clearly the wrong one. At least when one attempts to drive a car. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

I am giving 3 stars because I appreciate the effort put from many individuals (artwork, aesthetic choices) which however is not relfected in the final result and output. The main production team should so some soul searching/

CDPR should imeediately withdraw the game from the XBoxOne series and offer a full refund to buyers or an equivalent Xbox Live token.

CDPR concentrated on pleasing the SJW crouds with giving attention to pronouns, genre swapping, genitalia mods etc. This is the final result. Please stop playing politics in gaming and concentrate on gameplay. Otherwise you go broke. You are only as good as the last game you release. Your reputation is done for.

It's a good game storywise, but the deeper you look into it, the more disappointing it gets. There's no free time activities except driving into pedestrians and glitching away, you can't change your character and you will always look like a clown for maximum armor. I could say breathtaking game except the bugs and crashes but honestly it’s not a big deal. People just love to go with the hype train. I love it and everybody will in the next few years after the fixes. I must mention that I look forward to see the cyberpunk series on netflix.
I know it’s not easy to deal with the investors but I think CDPR made big strategic mistakes when they overextend themselves with the short release deadlines.

Incredible that a company that brought the witcher 3 publishes this game with so many errors, bugs and terrible optimization. Where is the quality control? Microsoft did not review the game either? Disappointing. I already asked for my money back.

Normally I don't write game reviews. But looking at all the discussions about problems bugging Cyberpunk 2077 after release, and given how I enjoyed myself with the game in the last week, I felt strangely compelled to do so this time around.

I'm presently 25 hours into the game on my XBox One. And yes, I do notice glitches quite frequently. I had to reload from a save-game once because a quest item was not there anymore. And the visuals look less polished than in gameplay trailers.
One the other hand, the game has great storytelling, great characters and character development, a great ambiance, not the least by a killer soundtrack, etc. Despite the above shortcomings, the game has soul and depth, and seems crafted with love. Which in the end matters more to me than aforementioned issues.

Yes, CD PR would probably have been wise to delay the game longer to fix these issues and avoid this fuzz. On the other hand, I am very happy that I can already play the game this Christmas holiday, and am thoroughly enjoying myself with this. And for me, despite its shortcomings, this is the game of the year. Hence, my present score is a 9, to be changed into a 10 once the most obvious issues have been fixed.

Lastly, I take my digital hat off to CDPR for their level of ambition with CP2077. Night City is huge, the story is huge, the further potential is huge. This takes audacity, and I am sure this will pay off in the end, even if this means some people will need to have patience for a while longer. But me, I am happy I spend my eddies on this one already, and am quite certain I will be an inhabitant of Night City for quite some time to come.

Fantastic Game but like all games since the 360/PS3 era it has launched with some bugs. Nothing game breaking from my experience and certainly hasn't taken away from my enjoyment.

The game is fantastic and exactly what it was promised to be. Big, expansive, and SO MUCH to do! 8 hours in and haven't even finished the Prologue. It's almost overwhelming their is just so much to this game.

Firstly it's an RPG so do not buy this expecting GTA (Action/Adventure) do not expect COD (FPS) expect an RPG (Fallout) with decent driving and FPS.

The shooting is much better then Fallout for example. And this is again with my stats low so I expect it will get better (as per normal RPG style)

The world feels so natural, missions just happen, I mean no pressing "Y" to speak you get to the area and bam mission is already going. I have not seen any loading screen outside of fast travel and loading my save. I suspect elevators hide these alittle but again they feel very natural.

If you like RPGs then I highly recommend getting this game!

Let them do there thing and we’ll see what happens, don’t be rating it poorly because it doesn’t run properly on the old gen consoles, look at Spider-Man ffs it’s all over the place graphically and the bugs are ridiculous, I know I’ve compared cyberpunk to other games but that’s because I don’t feel like they’ve been given a fare evaluation of the situation. Isn’t wasn’t that long ago CDPR were getting death threats for delaying the game. If you’re not enjoying it then fair enough but if you’re all rating it without playing the game then shame on you. I’ve enjoyed the last 30 hours of playing it, it’s had some minor bugs and that’s it.

Just a disappointment, no customization, the dialogue you choose throughout the game doesn’t even change how it plays out. Lots and lots of bugs and glitches, kicks you off the game frequently, graphics are horrible, looks like a ps2 game. Not what the trailer made it out to be at all. Big false advertisement. They shouldn’t have even released this pos.

    -storyline is virtually non-existent

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story and the characters are absolutely top-notch. The writing is really well done. Ultimately, this version of the game is buggy beyond belief:frequent crashes, performance issues, +every other issue that is also on pc. This game suffers utter lack of optimization in that regard, as well as in its fundamental systems. Unlike CDPR, I cant just pretend that the RPG element was practically doublethinked away into oblivion. That is something they sold everyone on, and the RPG systems were so shallow (no customization, little meaningful choices, no real differentiation in beginnings, an absolutely lifeless city) that they quietly rebranded it as a "open-world action-adventure" game. What an absolute wasted opportunity to create a game using the Cyberpunk ip (which actually started out as a tabletop rpg, btw). Ultimately, I LOVE the game for the story, yet am actually depressed by what they thought was good enough. They are literally acting as the corps in the story, ironically embracing the ideals of Cyberpunk that were swept by in development. Expand

Cyberpunk has definitely a great story, but after spending over 50 hours in the game, i can clearly say it's not on par with Witcher 3. Was the story better than Witcher? Maybe, definitely more immersive thanks to first person camera and oh lord genius lighting in interiors. Is the game when everything's counted better than Witcher 3? Not even close. There is no excuse for it being released in the condition it is. It actually doesn't even make sense the studio with so much experience release something like this. Tons of missing basic content (customizations of avatar, cars, weapons, houses, nonstop repeating music - like seriously, there are like 4 songs playing on every radio station in a loop).

And the worst part? They knew they were about to release broken, far from finished game. They literally admitted they were lying about the technical state of the game. The last delay to December? That was literally made just so they wouldn't be on VGA, because they knew they'd fail miserably - as they claimed it was to optimize last-gen versions even more than it already is.

For me, the score for this game must be separated into many categories -
Storyline and story side quests: 9/10
    Atmosphere: 9/10
Technical aspects (including AI, customization etc): 3/10
    Sound: 5/10
Game content outside of story: 5/10

Summarized: 6/10. Unfinished game in every possible imaginable aspect there is, and the only thing why it's worth playing is for it's story and how well it's presented. Your choices in the world have little to no effect at the endings, which eventually makes the whole journey pointless. But really great story to play through during the pandemic nevertheless. It'd just make much better mini-series.

Overall, I think there’s a lot to like when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077, which has been unfortunately marred by poor performance issues on a number of platforms, and some poor communication (along with some overpromising) on the part of the publisher. It’s clear that a lot of work went into putting this game together, and it’s unfortunate that it had to release in a state that feels a little unfinished. It’s still a game you can very much derive enjoyment from, even in its current state but your ability to overlook open-world bugs and performance issues is certainly going to factor in quite a bit.

Cyberpunk 2077 didn't meet my expectations, but also didn't disappoint me. It delivered an RPG experience like no other, delving deep into themes like control, awareness and addiction. The combat is great and the graphics are amazing, but the bugs and some under-cooked systems make it seem like the devs got lazy, and that's always a bad sign. (Played on Xbox Series X)
