I was a huge fan of CD Projekt RED for 13+ years (since the first Witcher) and I liked the GOG's policy, despite preferring other platforms for their functionality. I really didn't want to bring this up, but the GOG/CDPR actions and attitude left me no choice.

The Cyberpunk 2077 is raw, unpolished and bugged as hell. The more I play — the more broken quests, "silent" dialogues and other technical issues I get. I was sending bug reports and suggestions to the CDPR support since release, but I haven't got any replies. Zero. Not even automatic ones, so I don't know if they even check them or no. There are no answers, there are no patches, there is no roadmap. The day-one patch arrived on GOG later than on other platforms and after that only two useless "hotfixes" were released (it didn't fix anything for me). No real patches for a month, no new hotfixes for weeks. The Russian localization is terrible and Galaxy client resetting the language preferences every time I launch the game. (There is no such problem on other stores). And the client still crashes ten times per day.

I've heard a lot of complaints about optimization, but at least I don't have any significant problems on that front despite some minor fps drops and object popping. Though I've built my PC especially for Cyberpunk and my TV supports only 1080p resolution at 60fps which is likely the main reason I’ve got an ok performance.

GOG/CDPR stuff keep ignoring all problems with Cyberpunk and Galaxy launcher, but this isn't the only problem they prefer to turn a blind eye for. Some of you may know that they decided to cancel the long-awaited release of an indie game Devotion on GOG to please some Chinese bots. They've slaughtered the game without any reasons (the little placeholder with the hurtless joke was completely removed from the game years ago). And the main problem in this situation that GOG staff answered on Twitter bot messages within a few hours by fully cancelling the promised release not only for China but for the rest of the world too. At the same time, they keep ignoring thousands of their own customers for weeks. They’ve just silently deleted the announcement and cancellation posts without any official statement/explanation/comment, ignoring all questions and support tickets about their decision. Just check the GOG’s Community Wishlist — it is the most requested game of December and January. This is just another sign that GOG/CDPR changed their policy from being pro-customer to being pro-money. It isn't the first call, but it can be the last one for many loyal customers. Censorship can't be tolerated, especially political censorship — I'm sick of this **** in my everyday life.

So, after all of this, I’ve got really disappointed. I tend to buy way more games than I have time to play. And I prefer playing on another platform, but I used to buy second copies of the games I like on GOG only because I liked it's policy, customer-oriented service and wanted to support my favourite devs. But this isn't the thing anymore. I haven't even played 99% of the games I've bought on GOG, so, I've tried to request a refund for them. And they refused.

GOG support has finally answered on my ticket. First of all, they've completely ignored all my questions about Devotion. Secondly, they've refused to refund anything (not a single game from 340+ in my library!) They've also refused to comment on the bugs and estimated release of next patch for Cyberpunk 2077. (They've told me to contact "CDPR official channels" that haven't answered to support tickets in a month). Finally, they've refused to partly refund my physical copy of Cyberpunk 2077 so I could get the Steam version instead (I don't want to be forced to buy future addons on GOG and use their broken launcher anymore). They've told me that I should refund my physical collector's edition where I've bought it. But it isn't possible after you've opened the box and used the activation code. Well, I will be waiting for heavily discounted GOTY/Director's Cut/Enhanced edition on other platforms then.

I was supporting and advertising GOG for years. I've bought all CDPR games on release, including collector's editions and versions for different platforms (not to mention figurines and tons of other merch). I didn't expect that these companies’ management will start to wipe their feet on its loyal customers. I’ve missed the moment when they turned into EA/Activision siblings, but as far as history shows — it's the one-way road in this industry.

This is the last game I've bought on GOG. In the current state, I can't recommend it to anyone, nor I can recommend this platform anymore. I'm disgusted by GOG/CDPR recent actions and their new priorities. I'm disappointed by the way they've decided to handle situations around failed Cyberpunk launch and Devotion censorship. Their reaction (the lack of it) on customers' feedback is a disgrace and I regret supporting them so much…

The problem, from what I've been seeing in these reviews is that most of the gamers have issues playing this game on the original Xbox One. The fact that they cannot upgrade to Xbox One S or X is why they have lag issues. This game is revolutionary and plays perfectly on Xbox One S. A word of advice for these negative people, stop playing new games on old consoles, it makes a difference.

The game itself is fantastic. I'm playing on a Series X so haven't had to face issues as game breaking as last gen players have. The reasons I haven't given a 10: The game has muddy textures and a lot of visual, but superficial, bugs. It's not running any where close to 4K and there a lot of NPC, text and scenary pop in, even at close range.

It is absurd that the game had so many delays extending the release date back year after year and it feels like they accidentally released the alpha version instead! There is soooooooo much to do in this game and the story is really good and the graphics are fantastic but those points are only a minor part of the story. From the moment I boot up the game I get bombarded with minor irritating glitches all the way up to game breaking crashes. In my around ten hours of playtime I have experienced these issues, among others! Falling through the ground under the map, rubberbanding, rendering not able to keep up with itself while driving. Everytime I move from one room to another I have 5-10 people popping up from delayed rendering. I also have buttons not recognizing they were pushed, sound skipping and repeating, and multiple full game crashes! With this huge list of problems with the game I still give it a 7 because everything else besides those issues is a flawless game that tries a lot of new things I just really wish even half the glitches weren't there because the game itself has me hooked!! This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Cyberpunk 2077 had a horrible launch and deserved all the flak it got, but with the recent patches, it’s improved a lot. Crashing and freezing on Xone has been reduced and the game runs smoother. The frame rate feels like it’s improved a bit, but cops are still broken.

Storyline/Characters The story is absolutely brilliant, the writers did a fantastic job. I love the idea of V and Jackie not knowing that the chip they stole was a personality construct of Johnny Silverhand and V slowly turning in to Johnny. Jackie’s death scene is real emotional and when V says “See you in the major leagues.” To Jackie’s body, it’s just a punch in the gut. Every end is really good for storytelling. I don’t know how many there are but here are the ones I know of: V leaves Night City with Panam or Judy or both, V kills himself, V stays in Night City and raids a space casino, V raids arasaka tower alone, Johnny takes over V’s body. Almost all the characters are like able and feel like real people, Jackie, V, Johnny, Panam, Judy, Saul, Mitch, Mama Welles, and practically all the other side characters. The two main romances, Judy and Panam, are amazing characters with really good side storylines. Judy’s actor did a fantastic job with her, she’s so good, some of the scenes with Judy are hard to watch. Same with Panam, who a lot of times is fueled by anger and revenge, but also is a caring, loving person to V and the Aldecaldos. For both Panam and Judy, you can tell their voice actors really tried, but then again, every actor in this game tried big-time. I saw this YouTube comment and it practically said Cyberpunk’s main plot is about death and excepting one’s mortality. I think this is true cause in every ending V “dies” in some way.

    Gameplay
This game has a fantastic story, but what about gameplay? Gameplay is also pretty damn good, it can be frustrating when the projectile launch system doesn’t do any damage or when bullets don’t register, but when your running around with a blade, and your just chopping everyone down, it makes you feel like a real badass. Most guns are fun to shoot and sound nice.

Conclusion Cyberpunk 2077 is a fun, emotional, funny, buggy, sometimes frustrating game with a fantastic story and good gameplay. I recommend getting this game after the February patch. One more thing, I keep seeing people saying this game looks like a PS2 game, it really doesn’t. To all the people who keep saying that why don’t you go do side by comparison before making it seem like this game came out 2005.

The Character customisation is ok, maybe even a bit lack luster considering we can’t morph our faces and bodies to really make V like no one else.
The bugs and performance issues are rampant, but CD Projeckt Red has been cracking down on most bug and frame rate issues fast but when I played it, I couldn’t get a stable frame rate worth a damn.
So basically what sums it up is that it isn’t a bad game, just the performance issues and bugs hold it back from being one of the best games of all time. You

I spent around 20 hours on Xbox series X, and damn this game is garbage. Putting aside the bugs and crashes, this game is awful. The AI is probably some of the worst I've ever seen, the progression is boring and feels pointless. The level gating is terrible, the combat is terrible, the loot is terrible. This has got to be the best looking worst game I've ever played. What a joke of a company.

    the pros:
    - the city and the atmosphere: really amazed by how living the city is. The city lights are amazing, feels like to be in Blade Runner. Loved also the different neighborhoods, and the badlands.
    - main story and character writing: the main story is short but very immersive. the side quests related to story characters are well-written and you bond with each of the protagonists. the cons:
    - exploration: the city is amazing to look at but feels shallow. you are free to explore very few buildings and apart from side quests/vendors, you won't find many NPCs willing to talk
    - nearly invincible police is very annoying
    - driving and not being able to customize/pimp cars
    - crafting and engineering: the former is very confusing and lacks explanation, the latter feels redundant

    the mehs:
    - items: there are many consumables but I only used max docs. do not feel like there is a great variety of armory and clothing. - romance: just one option per sexual orientation feels boring. They also could have made all characters bisexual as other games did. - side quests and contracts: side quests found in the world sometimes are fun and cheeky (my favorites), sometimes are too short or lack scope. contracts are just okay.

There are already lawsuit against CD Project Red for misleading statements and harming investors. CD Project Red was hailed as positive example in the gaming industry after The Witcher 3 (An Anti Ubisoft or Anti EA). Cyberpunk 2077 was also to be expected as one of the best games of the decade and hyped. Before release there were stories of crunch in development and the warning signs of a review embargo (Because of CD project Reds record we gave them the benefit of a doubt). Then the game was released and it was a shocking disappointment. For clarification: I checked the Xbox just out of curiosity after the PS4 game and say they are both nearly unplayable at release. The PC version is better and if you cant wait you should go for it Warning: There is a now seemingly patched bug that corrupts your save-file when it gets bigger than 8 MB atop of less but still numerous bugs than the console versions. The bugs contain but are not limited to: Slow downs, crashes, graphical glitches (atop on ugly graphics), teleportation / moving through wall characters, NPCs gone missing, hovering in mid air weapons / objects and KI doing hilarious funny stuff. This game was shipped unfinished and it not an accident as the bugs could not be missed. It is the intentional “Release it now and fix it later“ mentality that broke the game. Sadly I see the great game underneath it all and I think this makes it even worse. Gameplay-wise it is also not polished enough as many parts don't feel smooth. However this could just be me. I disliked the hacking first and the melee combat would be far better in third person view for example. I think they should have taken more time to fix the numerous bugs and improve the gameplay. This could be one of the greatest mistakes of a game publisher. The fans are up in arms, the investors feel cheated (and sued CD Project Red), the stocks were down at the time of writing and the great reputation is destroyed or at least tainted. This will not be forgotten as there is no way that people will see this malpractice as accident. Overall avoid this game at the current state! Wait until there is a version available were patches fix the problems of the game (Can take a while as there are many). Maybe there will be a rerelease in a better state. Expand

This game flat out fails to deliver on its promises and hype in just about every respect. It is an unpolished mess even after the numerous delays and truly lacks any real attention to detail. The animations. game mechanics and physics are so bad or lacking all together. Games from 2013 such as GTA are more well thought out.

I could save regularly and play through the buggy mess with crashes every 20 minutes. But it is UNFORGIVABLE when the "ending" is not final and it's as if I wasted countless hours for nothing. Well this game review is for Xbox and not series x, as some people are giving scores based on the next gen. Also this game was never meant for the next gen, initially being planned for release in April 2020. But the game is really unplayable and the graphics is a compete joke, compared to the next gen, which should have never been the case.

    Version: Xbox One X

    Performance:
The first noticeable issues with this game are performance issues: extremely low frame rates, freezes, game crashes, hard crashes (shuts off Xbox). All of these occur while doing general tasks such as driving and walking around the city. Issues become worse during combat making shooting, melee, and hacking unbearable to do. Poor render distances make the game ugly. NPCs pop in just a few feet in front of you, cars despawn 50 feet down the road and will be rendered as 2D images from a far enough distance, and flat textures plague the game. Certain areas of the game still guarantee a 100% chance to crash the game such as the market closest to V's apartment.

    Controls and Gameplay:
Calibrating your controls just to feel like a standard FPS is an absolute nightmare. The control settings are derivative and convoluted with "Turning Bonus", "Turning Ramp-up Time", and "Turning Delay". ADS sensitivity does not apply to pistols making it extremely difficult to aim with them. Aim assist while ADS feels non existent. Overall gunplay and recoil patterns feel clunky and awkward, and in addition to being bogged down by performance issues makes it unenjoyable just to shoot enemies. Hand to hand combat is terrible with enemies that have incredibly telegraphed attacks to the point where they look slow motion, but are irrelevant because they have homing kicks and punches. It makes the back and forth of blocking, parrying, and dodging boring and ultimately useless (Just play through the side mission Beat on the Brat and realize how bad it is). The game needs a lock on system where you can focus singular enemies.

    Side Missions and Progression:
Overall progression in this game was not well thought out. Side missions are handed out constantly through phone calls and against your will with no way to deny them. Even from characters you have never met before who speak to you as if they know you (issue with Nomad/Street Kid/Corpo story continuity). This spams your journal with missions and becomes overwhelming. The main story is too short in comparison to the amount of side missions and gigs you can do. If you are a completionist or even half of one, you will find yourself leveling up fast but you make the main story missions trivial because you can finish the game at only level 20 (max level is 50). The mission difficulties ranging from very low to very high are sporadically scattered throughout the map and offer a mess of trying to manage when to take on certain enemies, missions, etc. Level scaling would fix these problems. Levels attached to enemies would also be helpful because either they have a red skull (very hard) above them or nothing. Some side missions are broken and cannot be started/finished such as the Distressed Man mission (which therefore restricted my access to a ripperdoc for the entire game).

    Main Story and Characters:
This is the reason why I kept playing this game. You basically get to play a movie/Netflix series with wonderful characters, meaningful missions and relationships tied to them, character development, funny and surprising interactions, and a decent amount of impactful choices (although a lot of it is an illusion as it is with most RPG games). I loved doing the storylines for the characters you meet and the connections you build with them as a result. Most of them were satisfying and all of them were entertaining. The world building is fantastic and you can get lost in all of the lore delivered through dialogue or data shards.

    Final Thoughts:
This game is plagued by way too many issues to be considered good or even acceptable on console. I want this game to succeed, it's why I played it for so long. But CDPR knew what they were doing when they obviously manufactured pre-release console gameplay in the shadiest of ways. It was unready and this is shown through the abysmal gameplay on all consoles except for the Xbox Series X and PS5. Even the most powerful console before Fall 2020 (Xbox One X) could not run this poorly optimized garbage well. The experience was below average thus it gets a 4/10.

I never watched any of the pre-release trailers so I don't know what "was promised" (I've played the Witcher though, so my expectations were quite high). I know I loved what I got. I'd give this a 10, but it DOES need some polishing so I retract a point.

A lifeless city with hardly any immersion. They advertised this game as huge immersive open world game and it’s not close to that. It is open world but even that has an extent because you cannot hardly immersive into it! Having vehicles in only good if you plan from going point A to point B. There is NO vehicle customization in the game which frustrated me the most. The cops are absolutely RIDICULOUS!! You get in trouble with the law and you run ONE block down the street and suddenly they give up trying to catch you. You do something bad and they randomly appear behind you. It makes absolutely no sense and how overpowered they are. Shooting mechanics is a let down as well. I’ve found myself recoiling all over an enemy target or suddenly my weapon stops firing at the target. When I’d aim at an enemy shooting me, at times, it wouldn’t let me shoot back at all. Totally disengaged. You can own an apartment but yet can do anything with it. Cant customize it or buy new ones. Gameplay would be come super laggy or glitchy especially when driving. It’s almost like the game has a slight graininess to it and the frame-rate isn’t great either. They said this game would run well on the Xbox One and it has yet to show that. I’ve found that the game crashed 6 times in one day while only playing for 4 hours. To give some fairness, the game has not crashed since the new updates but I find it glitching as though you’re about to see a crash coming. The game is aesthetically appealing, I do give it that. NPCs.. and this is where I see another area that puts the game to shame. They aren’t hardly immersive at all. Immersive NPCs we are use to seeing in games like GTA. Those NPCs have far more personality and react far more to their surroundings, almost like they have a mind of their own. Cyberpunks NPCs are legitimately mindless. They have hardly any reaction to their own surroundings and nothing to what we are use to seeing GTA NPCs. I was hoping CD Projekt Red would had AT LEAST given NPCs far more life that of what we get in the game. As an immersive open world game as they described it to be (turned to be FALSE), you’d think NPCs have more reaction to the environment and the player itself. But not the case. There’s hardly anywhere you can shop or buy food, can’t buy property, gamble but I’ll give the game one thing. You can get prostitutes. That’s the only idea of immersion they actually had with the game. It’s awful.. No vehicle customization
    Lifeless NPCs
No character customization after creating one
Hardly anywhere to interact with (stores and activities)
    Graininess to graphics and lag
    No deep immersion as advertised
    Terrible shooting mechanics
OP cops, hardly any interactivity with player other than spawning right behind you

    This list could go on...

    The pros:
    Aesthetically appealing
prostitutes I give it 3 stars.

Cyberpunk is a mixture of massive open world possibilities and fabulous storyline/voice acting and linear gameplay and missed opportunities. There are secrets all around to explore from the different ways you can approach and play the game to the hidden objectives within the quests. You could get lost in its rich and crafted depth and yet the developers decided to opt for a skimming off the top of all this and leave you bereft of meaningful objectives.

The gameplay and graphics are excellent, and I thought I’d dip my toe in the game and do a few missions before I upgrade to the series x next year and the “Full Game” was released. The next thing I know, I’m about 5 short acts into the game and I’m prompted to save my game. I’m thinking at this point that I’ve hit the start of some main plot twist and then... “the end”...

I finished it. I thought I’d only just got started. I’d only done about 1 mission in the badlands FFS! Seriously, this has got to be the worlds shortest RPG...

It’s an RPG with the campaign length of a first person shooter. Really this product was not ready, and I’m not just talking the bugs. I would say it needed another year in development focusing just on the high end hardware. They really needed to flesh the storyline out across the whole map and get you immersed in the cyberpunk world. It’s a great game. Well worth the money, but it’s just such a missed opportunity that it’s a real shame.

After 25+ hours into the game, Im loving it despite the numerous bugs and glitches. There is way more positive in this game than negative. I highly recommend for xbox One X and Series X.

Played on series x, some graphic bugs, no game breaking ones. Solid fps on performance mode. Graphics could be better but will come in 2021. Surprisingly good story and nice city environment. Loot and lvl system maybe bit overwhelming for mediocre rpg player but will get hang on. I hope cdpr will patch this game up asap, but it won't hold me from playing, enjoyed it.

This score is for the Xbox Series X .. awesome game if you own series x. Don't let these haters fool you. They are mad as they should be for it being a mess on base consoles but I'm playing it 30 fps I belive 1080 to 4k and it runs great

I feel bad for CDPR, so much work on this game just to have the gaming community s*** all over it because they thought the game was going to be some messiah. It's a first person open-world RPG... far from changing gaming as a whole. Yes its buggy on Xbox one, mostly the bugs for me came, with dialog not loading properly, frame rate drops, screen tears, and graphics not as good as GTA 5I feel bad for CDPR, so much work on this game just to have the gaming community s*** all over it because they thought the game was going to be some messiah. It's a first person open-world RPG... far from changing gaming as a whole. Yes its buggy on Xbox one, mostly the bugs for me came, with dialog not loading properly, frame rate drops, screen tears, and graphics not as good as GTA 5 which came out a while ago. The game is there it's not as good as it could be if we waited another year or two but the majority complained a lot about waiting more. However I still enjoyed it thoroughly in my 65hr playthrough. Story is fantastic voice acting is really solid and the scope of the whole game is a good length. I haven't seen the other ending beside the one I chose *(aldecaldos)* but after it was over I got the sad feeling in my gut like after finishing a good book which is why ill put it on my favorite RPG lists with all of the Witcher 3 and many others. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Side quests without resolution. Missing features they used to promote the game. Extremely underwhelming main story. You're dying without cure the entire game like the last act of RDR2. If you have played RDR2 it feels so familiar and stolen. Its from basically the beginning of the game and it ruined it for me. Especially cuz its b.s. you can go free roam in the open world for as long as you like and nothing will happen except a cough and a brief blurry screen every now and then. Which is essentially straight out of RDR2. Except in this game you never actually die unless of course you choose to kill yourself and get the bad ending. The whole game you're told "you are dying and nothing will save you" and thats how the game ends, you get Johnny out of your head but you're still dying and cant stop it. Or you let your body die and you become a computer program like Johnny, which sounds like digital purgatory, no thanks Id rather just die. Cant skip or hang up phonecalls and you get hundreds of them. Makes a second playthrough very frustrating. Same with dialogue in cars, they let you skip any dialogue in the game, even during important main quests but not phone calls or car dialogue. Braindances are extremely tedious, on second playthrough they are just annoying as hell. The cops spawn in feet behind you milliseconds after you commit a crime. There is literally no traffic ai. Driving is terrible. Some of the lore is interesting but some of the sidequests that explore it(specifically Sinnerman and River Ward's questline) are insanely boring and unfulfilling. The weapons and cyberware are the best part of the game by far. Smart and tech weapons are very fun. Katanas, double jump, projectile launcher, mantis blades, giant **** are all very fun to destroy people with and I like the quickhacking as well. It makes for some fun combat but the combat loop in this game becomes extremely repetitive especially if you go around doing all the open world gigs. Also there are only 4 joytoys in the entire city. You know its unfinished when there are only 4 hookers in a CDPR game. Expand

Really loved the game (beside some minor bugs)... CD Projekt will fix that.

Gram na Xbox one x, są małe błędy w grze, na które nie zwracam uwagi, gra jest do poprawy, ale przez krzywdzące oceny daje 10/10 a nie 9/10

It’s because of this fun gameplay and this great story that it’s such a shame Cyberpunk 2077 performs like it’s still in alpha.

Overall, I think there’s a lot to like when it comes to Cyberpunk 2077, which has been unfortunately marred by poor performance issues on a number of platforms, and some poor communication (along with some overpromising) on the part of the publisher. It’s clear that a lot of work went into putting this game together, and it’s unfortunate that it had to release in a state that feels a little unfinished. It’s still a game you can very much derive enjoyment from, even in its current state but your ability to overlook open-world bugs and performance issues is certainly going to factor in quite a bit.

Cyberpunk 2077 didn't meet my expectations, but also didn't disappoint me. It delivered an RPG experience like no other, delving deep into themes like control, awareness and addiction. The combat is great and the graphics are amazing, but the bugs and some under-cooked systems make it seem like the devs got lazy, and that's always a bad sign. (Played on Xbox Series X)
