Pure utter trash water, no innovation what so ever, guns don't work half the time, maps are too cramped and small, after playing one mp map, you've played them all. Too much lag for a game that sells this many copies. Stop spray painting **** thinking we won't know it's **** Long live COD4

I think the international Critics are under pressure to write good reviews. But the players, that spend hours in gameplay know the true: MW2 Control C+Control V!

Servers are slow but as expected, campaign not very long but still interesting, survival mode and spec. ops live up to the great hype they got. excellent, i believe the survival mode is better than zombies. online play will return to the top once the not so serious gamers leave to go and play a new game. let the game settle before you are so quick to judge.

Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity? No, but seriously why this game sells great every year is a mystery to me. I don't want to support anything to do with this game anymore, and at this point, i'm pretty ashamed to be in in the same category as this yearly cash-in. It honestly reminds me of something like a cheap 80s remake or even the likes of Twilight.

Hi, this is my review of Modern warfare 3

First off I installed the game onto my Xbox Hard Drive (this took about 15 mins) after that i loaded the game, before i got to the menu i was greeted with a nice clip , but im not gonna spoil what that is, when the menu is loaded up it is practically the same as mw2 except it is abit more dull and dark , and then i got the typical "there is some offensive and disturbing content, would you like to disable it" , after browsing the menus i went on over to multi-player.

I found a game in kill confirmed, I loaded into the game (i was on a snow map but i cant remember what it was called) and im not gonna lie, my first impressions was "this looks ALOT like black ops" and the reason for this is how everything seems closer to you that they did in cod4 and mw2, soo i was a little bit worried at first, but then the worries soon went away when i got my first few kills and realised that the guns were balanced, there was reasonable recoil and you dont have magic bullets that bend round corners , one of the other things that i noticed strait away was that the knife, it HAS been fixed and this if for the better , it feels and sounds ALOT like the cod4 knife.

after that game i was surprised at how well done and balanced the game is , the next map i played on was one called bakarra , this looks like a blackhawk down inspired map (as there is a black hawk in the middle of the map) , in that game i then realised that people who usually rely on grenades and explosives were always using flashbangs and stun grenades (i guess this is where blast shield pro comes in handy) , now back to what i was saying earlier , the guns have a reasonable amount of recoil , so this is where the proficiency "kick" really comes in handy , i unlocked it and used it straight away , and this helped me pick off enemies from longer distances faster, in this game i used my "I.M.S" kill streak , i deployed it in a building while i was looking out the window, it got 3 kills within seconds, some people might think this is over powered but just 1 emp grenade or half a clip of ammo will take this out.

i did quite a few games and unlocked quite a few things for my rifles, i got to about level 23 and realized that the levels wasnt much of a grind to get through as there are loads of challenges, one of the things i really like about the new online feel is that is, if you start shooting some guy in the back then 90% of the time he will die and not turn around and shoot you in the face.

after that i went over to the single player, (dont worry i wont be giving away any story spoilers) , I started playing it and it basically makes you aware of what happens in the previous modern warfare games, after playing for a bit i got to a level called "black tuesday" this is where i realised how much this story feels like cod4 , all of these "hollywood scripted moments" really fall into place in the missions and they actually seem believable, i have done quite a bit of the story so far , and at this moment in time the story seems longer that any other call of duty to date. i havent come across to playing spec ops yet, but i will soon.

but one of the downsides i would say about the multiplayer (to me) is that the maps dont feel like modern warfare 2 or cod4's maps they feel like black ops maps for the way you can move about them, but a good thing that they added was more vertical gameplay in the maps.

MW3 might not be a complete overhaul or innovation, but Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have tweaked and nigh-on perfected the genre for the conclusion of their epic Modern Warfare story arc.

The level of detail and draw distance that the engine is now capable of is a great accomplishment of the development team, squeezing everything they can out of the current engine whilst still ensuring the game runs along at 60fps - a rare achievement of late with publishers and developers trading performance for graphical nirvana. The second campaign mission alone is a perfect example of the scope now available.

The story, whilst not original, still contains the trademark COD set pieces and action sequences, and bombs along at a consistent rate of knots.

The MP aspect has seen a few enhancements, with the perks and scoring systems tweaked to offer newcomers and lesser players an opportunity to shine, whilst still rewarding the hardcore elite for their accomplishments. Again this is not a radical overhaul but a pure refinement and the MW3 MP now feels extremely polished the culmination of the games' imprint on online FPS gaming over the last decade.

To summarise, it's maybe not as original as its prequels or as flamboyant as its competitors but MW3 is a well crafted, fast paced and well put together adrenaline ride that does exactly what you expect it to do well. The MP is refined and, while not massively different to previous versions, takes the greatest online FPS MP experience and makes it better. Great for old and new comers alike, try it - you just might like it.

I have played the greatest Game of all time and I can assure you that MW3 is no Street Sweeper. Mw3 has none of the variety and originality that Street Sweeper has. The Graphics are about the same but have none of the genius and beauty that Street Sweeper has in droves. And while MW3 has Streets it sadly has no Sweeping mode. Fail, Epic Fail.

I didn't buy the game at the midnight launch but I got it the day after. The first match I joined I instantly thought omg I am playing MW2 again. But now it looked like the game was more noobified. The kill streaks are f*cked up and the perks too. Also the game is even uglier then mw2. MW3 is a big disappointment and I am done with the cod serie now.

To top it off is the vastly improved Spec Ops co-op that is now fine-tuned to be an equally enjoyable solo experience to the campaign with Survival discovering how to balance solo and co-op where Zombies et al could not.
People may argue that the game runs on an old engine but briefly ignoring the fact that this is a very nice-looking game with a silky smooth 60FPS: since when have engines been the be-all and end-all of a game's success... Ocarina of Time 3D is still one of the best games of the year despite running on an engine from a decade ago so that cant be a detrimental factor to MW3.....
The highlight of the series and the most fun I've had with an FPS since Portal 2 (and there have been many in between you'll all note) :)

Modern Warfare 3's singleplayer campaign hits many of the same highs and lows as its predecessors. Amazing setpieces serve as backdrops for giant firefights yet again. This is no understatement. Few games retain the crazy roller coaster pace that this does level after level, with brief moments to breathe set between the next eruption of gunplay. The shooting feels extremely responsive and well-tuned, and the battlegrounds challenge your awareness at all times. You're always given different situations that mix-up the gameplay just enough to keep things interesting. The game presents a formidable challenge, as always, on the Hardened and Veteran settings â

After the days I have spent on MW and MW2, I wanted this to feel new and make me want to progress through the ranks again but there is nothing here that feels fresh or different enough to drive me to progress. The maps are just more of the same, they could have come out of either MW2 or Black Ops. I think the general sentiment that it feels like an expansion pack is absolutely right, as graphically and in design style it is so similar to the other games. Single player is the same hectic mess as ever. No idea what the story is about but the general mechanics of everything works like all the other COD games. On the higher difficulty levels the enemy AI is aggressive but hardly intelligent. It is difficult to not compare this game to battlefield 3 as they are competing for the same market share. For me BF3 has made enough of a jump from Bad Company to feel like a totally different game and worthy of my £40. Love it or hate it, the variation that BF3 offers in multiplayer through the use of scale, vehicles and equipment progression is just far superior and feels like a new experience (certainly for 360). To sum up, I am really disappointed that this franchise is not the genre defining game it once was. The maps are uninspired (Hardhat is one of the dullest multiplayer environments on 360) and the gameplay, levelling up and customisation is just far too similar to what we have all played and loved before. Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
