Mordern Warfare 2.1 should say enough. Its a $60 map pack thats all!! Not worth more than $9.99 imo.
Im thinking of asking for a refund, and I highly suggest everyone else consider it as well.

Dedicated servers could have gone a long way, lag is just as bad as black ops, gun stats do not properly represent what the gun can actually do (I'm looking at you ACR with a better damage rating than m4 and m16 but takes 5 hit markers to kill) and other guns are so overpowered that I if you don't use them then you just lose (type 90, pp90) and the only useful shotgun in the gameDedicated servers could have gone a long way, lag is just as bad as black ops, gun stats do not properly represent what the gun can actually do (I'm looking at you ACR with a better damage rating than m4 and m16 but takes 5 hit markers to kill) and other guns are so overpowered that I if you don't use them then you just lose (type 90, pp90) and the only useful shotgun in the game surprisingly is the undermount shotgun on assault rifles. I will admit I havent played the campaign but we all know you dont buy this game for the campaign. I will get to it at some point. The multiplayer is still SO fun. The first night I sucked and wanted to jam the disc down my garbage disposal. However the second night everything started clicking and I started learning the maps and boom back to normal having fun and actually playiang with some strategy. It may not be real war and there are still campers but its addictive and full of action! The new Kill Confirmed gameplay is awesome for people like me (and most of us) who love to Run n Gun and get in good gun battles rather than sneaking around hoping someone in a 3 story window is going to snipe me with a crosshair not even close to my body (that really pisses me off BTW). Overall this game on its own is a 10, you cant judge a game off of the past games. MW3 will go down as one of the best COD games of all time. I guess what you can say is that there arent a lot of new additions, however the small additions that were made make this game so much better than the previous versions. Expand

The game is the same game it has been since 4. I mean don't' get me wrong- I will continue to play with my friends and have fun, but I am so pissed that the developers don't respect the consumers enough to add new features...this game should have been a DLC for MW2.

This game is the same as the one before nothing is different. The game should be called call of duty mw2.0 not 3. This series has killed squeals into improve on the one before it that used to accure.

So, Glen, score is "suspiciously low" to you? Well, I've been playing pretty much the same game 2 years ago... and 4 years ago, and looks like a lot of people agree/have the same point. But why worry - it's shattering all kinds of records on pre-orders/sales. Activi$ion did it again.

Try bringing something new in while milking this golden egg goose, don't just stick to a working formula

The developers of mw2 had 2 years to develop a sequal, i expected improved graffix and improved all around gameplay, in my opinion they did not improve the game and these maps could be dlc for mw2. Every company that makes games and sequs is improving the games drastically but mw3 in my opinion did not deliver.

I am a huge fan of Call of Duty but MW3 didn't do anything for me, i felt that the game was a copy and paste MW2.5. So i decided to give Battlefield 3 ago, i really didn't like the previous Battlefield but i have to say Battlefield 3 is awesome, it is far superior to MW3 with out a doubt. Activison you let me down this time.

I can't believe i payed 60 bucks for this game. It's a glorified xpac. the story blows (not that i expected it to be good.) Multiplayer is just more of the same too. I know its a sequel and wasn't expecting much change but damn it sucks.

I have played every Call of Duty game out, and I didn't start with COD Classic, the original, with the 2 expansions. MW3 is by no means a bad game. The COD 4 :MW is on of the best games that I have ever played, and if MW3 still plays like it but with new maps and new weapons with a re-vamped kill streak system then so what? Doesn't mean that it is not fun to play. My only grip about this game so far is the length of the campaign. I beat it in 5 hours, which is short and a little disappointing, but the actions sequences that happen in the game will keep me coming back. I respect the developers for not adding fluff to the story just so I can play for an extra 20 minutes. Besides, if you are only getting this game for the story, you are missing out on some great co-op and multi-player gaming. Sure people are going to hate this game because it is a big name game, but that doesn't mean that is a bad game. Activision and their yearly release of COD game is getting annoying though. They are going to destroy a great series, which is a shame. I will only by the games developed by IW to support them since they are one of the best developers out there at the moment. I would also like to show some love for SeldgeHammer games with their amazing contribution to this series. I hope that they will stay the path with IW to make great games. Not that I want to bash Tryarch, but I am just not a fan of their games. (Except the expansion packs for the original Call of Duty) Expand

Online is where it fails this time around, maps all seem like the previous map. They don't seem to have variety and reuse elements from previous games. Single player seems to be the easiest one yet. The game seems to be geared towards keeping the casual player playing this buying all of the DLC. Made only for money. Now where do I review Elite?

I hope one day consumers lose the blindfold they carry with them and realize they are being ripped off by a greedy company, they need to realize that buying a $60 DLC every year not only encourages other companies to act the same way and releaze the same game every year, but it also goes to show that companies need not to improve and/or bring something new to the table with each iteration in order to be successful. My issues are with the lobby system that seems like such a massive step backwards from Call of Duty: Black Ops it's criminal. The constant pauses while navigating the menus is terrible.

While I'm not the strongest player it's pretty hard to rack up a kill streak when the game constantly seems to spawn opponents directly behind you.

I also take issue with the sounds in the game. Audio options are anemic to those in CoD:BO. Game audio seems to be fine but I can't hear teammates chat unless we start a private party. I can't help but wonder if people shelling out for those Special Edition Turtle Beach headphones are experiencing similar issues.

Speaking of private parties. The fact that you can't join your friends (usually told the game is full) when they are in a lobby show the lack of effort on testing the lobby system.

The multiplayer just feels like a total mess. And since the multiplayer was the very reason for my purchase I can't help but feel terribly disappointed.

Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
