    The game is a masterpiece! Great! When I look at the DLC of God Of War, Sony should be ashamed of themselves.
    Zelda has so much more gameplay than Sony's unimaginative games.

    The game is a masterpiece. But if you didn't like botw there's no way around it, this is more of the same but multiplied by 3 and harder (the new mechanics are less accesible to newcomers than in botw)

Even the old locations have changed enough, so that they feel just as fresh to explore as in breath of the wild.
    The new abilities, allowing you to fuse weapons together and create wild contraptions, are absolutely amazing. Youll spend douzens of hours just building weird vehicles, from simple cars to bomber aircrafts. Fusing materials to weapons also fixes the durability issues of botw and greatly rewards fighting monster camps.
    Shrines have returnted, though they are much more fun and more challenging than in the prequel. The divine beasts have been replaced by bigger, better and way more fun dungeons including actuall bosses instead of just mini ganons.
    In my 100+ hours of playtime ive not once experienced a bug and glitch. sadly the game isnt as stable in the framerate: The already low 30fps drop decently frequently, though its not as bad as some people will make it seem. Besides, it is a miracle the genius devs managed to make the game run on the switch in the first place.
    dont let the (relatively) low user score fool you, a lot of the 5/10 reviews describe the game as 10/10
    (i guess they thought it was 5/5).
    For any switch users it is a must buy, for those who loved botw it will likely be the best game of all time. It took me over 60 hours to beat the game and 100% is looking like far over 300 hours.

    Tears of the Kingdom took what Breath of the Wild established and absolutely blew it out of the water. The world is brimming with fun and exciting things to discover, every single side quest feels as though it had been hand crafted, characters acknowledging small things that you do, such as wearing specific sets of armour, make the world feel alive and the journey from leaving the GreatTears of the Kingdom took what Breath of the Wild established and absolutely blew it out of the water. The world is brimming with fun and exciting things to discover, every single side quest feels as though it had been hand crafted, characters acknowledging small things that you do, such as wearing specific sets of armour, make the world feel alive and the journey from leaving the Great Sky Island up to the final battle is one of the most engaging, exhilarating experiences I've had in a game. It took me 100 hours to complete every shrine, do all the side quests I felt I wanted to and take down the final boss and honestly, it felt like every minute spent in this iteration of Hyrule was time well spent.
    Bosses and Dungeons this time around, when compared to what was seen in Breath of the Wild, are also a significant improvement. While still not necessarily on par with the likes of what is seen in Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, the amount of creativity these new Dungeons allow for when traversing and the ways you have to engage with each boss differently still makes them a joy to overcome.

This may be Nintendo's first $70 game but it's definitely worth every pennySimply amazing game, so much so that it makes it's predecessor Breath of the Wild look like simply a beta in comparison, such as when comparing the Wii U to the Switch, it became abundantly clear that the switch was always made for Link and fans to go travel and explore a vast open full of mysteries and surprises.     En cuanto a la experiencia gráfica, creo que está igual que el anterior, pero a mi BOTW me parece muy muy bonito y es un diseño artístico que, si o si, hubiera dejado en una    El juego está enorme. Las posibilidades son muchísimas, los agregados al mapa base de BOTW son tantos que la exploración está a otro nivel y la historia tiene mas presencia en el juego a diferencia del anterior.

    En cuanto a la experiencia gráfica, creo que está igual que el anterior, pero a mi BOTW me parece muy muy bonito y es un diseño artístico que, si o si, hubiera dejado en una secuela. Simplemente es igual o tal vez mejor considerando los mapas del cielo y el subsuelo, y cada uno tiene sus diseños e iluminaciones distintas a las del mapa base. El rendimiento también es igual. Un rendimiento mediano, que a veces tiene sus carencias.

    Las mecánicas diferencian este juego del BOTW. Ambos juegos son muy parecidos (obviamente) pero se juegan distinto. Considero que éste juego es más difícil en su gameplay y así mismo, es mas amplio; cabe mencionar que hay ciertos elementos y mecánicas que extraño de BOTW, pero son cosas que me hacen recordar constantemente que estoy jugando otro juego y no otra vez BOTW con otro título en la portada.
    La historia desde un inicio tiene presencia. Si bien, reconozco y le adjudico un "Pero" al juego, por inconsistencias en la historia y haber recurrido a ciertas modalidades del juego anterior, tambien he de decir que la historia se siente que ocurre dentro del juego y no en el pasado como en BOTW, (que no es malo pero pudo ser mejor empleada).

    Nintendo recurrió a ciertas formas de contar la historia como lo hizo en el juego anterior, pero creo que acá supo emplearlas un poco mejor y hace que el argumento se sienta mejor contado. Te cuentan la historia de una forma mas tradicional y consistente en vez de solo cinemáticas puntuales y cinemáticas en formas de recuerdos (Por supuesto que hay cinemáticas como en el juego anterior pero son más largas, y también hay más escenas dentro del gameplay(sin voces). BOTW se caracterizó por contar la historia a través de recuerdos y los diarios de los personajes mas importantes, y este elemento permanece pero, personalmente, sentí como si el juego me contara la historia de una forma un poco más práctica y directa.

    No creo que la conclusión sea que TOTK es mejor que BOTW, realmente creo que es otra manera de jugar el zelda visto en BOTW.    … Expand

Increased enemy types so much and varied and they actually make us use all game mechanics connected to each other.

    Some people will complain about the 1080p 30fps with dipping situation but lets face the fact that this game running on switch is like a miracle considering they made seamless transition between sky ground and depths + they made loading screens shorter. And the framedrop situation isn't because developers are lazy but they are stuck with an old console. So idk if that should actually affect the "game"s score when its not even games fault.    … Expand

The scope of this game after 20 hours is ridiculous and I haven't even touched most of the map yet. 3 layers of worlds alongside caves, dungeons and secrets is massive. Cheers to the team at Nintendo and Monolith because this is a masterpiece. The map is totally changed from Botw and the story plays an integral role in showing that.     Es un juego simplemente fantástico, lograron lo que muy poca gente creía posible, superar a BOTW. Añadieron nuevas mecánicas que parecen muy complejas a simple vista, pero que con un poco de practica eres capaz de manejarlas perfectamente. Se creía que al tener el mismo mapa se iba a sentir aburrido, pero todo lo contrari, podemos ver cambios en la distintas aldeas, como Kakariko yEs un juego simplemente fantástico, lograron lo que muy poca gente creía posible, superar a BOTW. Añadieron nuevas mecánicas que parecen muy complejas a simple vista, pero que con un poco de practica eres capaz de manejarlas perfectamente. Se creía que al tener el mismo mapa se iba a sentir aburrido, pero todo lo contrari, podemos ver cambios en la distintas aldeas, como Kakariko y Hatelia, además de algunos pequeños pueblos al rededor del mapa, además que cambiaron con que rellenar el mapa, donde antes no había nada, ahora te puedes encontrar cofres, y donde antes habían cosas, las cambiaron por otras cosas aún mejores. Los nuevos santuarios si se sienten como mazmorras, arreglando uno de los pocos problemas que tenía BOTW. La integración del subsuelo y del cielo es algo simplemente increíble, pudiendo ver la potencia real de la switch y como se ve un juego 100% desarrollado para está consola… Expand

I played so many hours of botw and there’s so much to do, there are so many new things and secrets in game, so I obviously recommend this game to anyone.

    Después de una larga espera, por fin pude probarlo, cada aspecto técnico del juego es perfecto. Cada vez que empiezo a jugar me da una sensación de no querer soltar el juego por un buen rato, las ansias de explorar y ver que hay mas allá del mapa que en si es grandisimo, pero el ser grande no es un problema ya que este mundo esta repleto de vida y de cosas por hacer. Sin duda es el juegoDespués de una larga espera, por fin pude probarlo, cada aspecto técnico del juego es perfecto.     Sorry, can’t get excited about this. It just feels like BOTW again. Loved that game big time but I didn’t need to buy it again. Too much walking back and forth in the early stages. I landed, saw a tower in the distance so thought great, I’ll get a map. Half an hour later I’m informed I need to talk to someone before I can use any of these towers and so walk half a hour in the oppositeSorry, can’t get excited about this. It just feels like BOTW again. Loved that game big time but I didn’t need to buy it again. Too much walking back and forth in the early stages. I landed, saw a tower in the distance so thought great, I’ll get a map. Half an hour later I’m informed I need to talk to someone before I can use any of these towers and so walk half a hour in the opposite direction to talk to someone, who then sends me on another half hour trip to a castle to see an event I have no control over before they will tell me how the towers work. And I haven’t got the energy to keep sticking things together to improve a weapon that will still break in four hits. The early fighting is also unnecessarily unforgiving as a lot of enemies can one shot you - its Zelda - not Dark Souls!… Expand

DO NOT listen to the reviews giving this game 7 and downwards, it’s full of Elden ring and Sony fanboys trying to make this seem less than it is, quite literally the best game ever made and a fully deserving 10.

    There are some slight performance issues here and there, nowhere near as bad as people are making out. I have no idea how they made a game of this magnitude run as well as it does on the switch.

Yo creo que es una secuela perfecta que deja a su antecesor como un péquela probadita de lo que se puede llegar hacer en un mundo abierto desde la posibilidad de hacer los puzzles de la manera que más se te antoje y el hecho de no obligarte a seguir un historia lineal lo hace perfecto ya que los únicos límites de este juego pueden ser las pequeñas bajas de FPS y tu imaginación la historia es un poco mejor que la anterior por eso yo creo que Zelda Tears of the kingdom es ta a la altura de competir por el goty ya que mucha gente lo desmerita por los gráficos pero entrando un poco en detalle las más morras se sienten muy parecidas a las bestias y las cantidad de islas es un poco decepcionante pero cuando tienes un mapa terrestre, subterráneo y aéreo todo eso queda atrás y por eso y más para mí este Zelda es un 10/10… Expand

    In a climate of story-driven "narrative-focused" games which rarely spare a thought to what a game should actually be, this game will suck hours out of your life and you won't even realise it. Whilst it sticks a little too close to the tenets established in BOTW, it is nonetheless a true testament to art and craft in video games. Very deserving of the praise it gets!

    This game is probably some of the most fun I've ever had playing a video game. The story is pretty good and the world feels incredibly alive, even more so than the previous game. The new building mechanic is amazing and allows you to create anything if you are creative enough to do so.

If you thought Breath of the Wild was good, Tears of the kingdom is like BOTW but on crack.     Barely into the game thusfar; I have about 50 hours already and I cant even see the final boss insight! The map is nearly 3 times larger than the original with the caves being basically as big as the overworld. The overworld's addtions and the new sky islands make up about an extra 30-60% larger map! The new mechanics are amazing and the story is so far pretty awesome! After having nearlyBarely into the game thusfar; I have about 50 hours already and I cant even see the final boss insight! It is an awesome game, I am so far only on the first dungeon, but it is a vast improvement on Breath of the Wild, and that is one of the best games that was ever made. For example, it sort of added crafting mechanics, which players have always been asking for in Botw. It also made the return of traditional more themed dungeons, this makes it a lot more fun, I also quite enjoyed getting to use the champions decedents, and I was positively surprised at how useful they were, like it wasn't just there for the decor, it was actually fighting, and the ability that I got to use so far was very helpful. Finally, I really like the 4 abilities that I have unlocked so far (recall, ascend, fuse, and ultrahand), they are a ton of fun to play with, and it adds a creative aspect to the game. Furthermore, combining all four abilities makes it incredibly good, especially for traversing the land, which, contrary to what some people may want you to believe, was vastly expended, with a vast underground, and a lot of sky traversal. In conclusion, it is an awesome game, and it is totally worth the price!… Expand

    This game makes BoTW look like a demo. Nintendo won and proved yet again that gameplay is far more important than graphics, and created two revolutionary masterpieces in a decade and raised the bars even higher after nobody was able to achieve that.

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom is a marvelous game, might be one of the best I've ever played. I've played over 20 hours and the game came out 2 days ago. It's incredibly addictive with it's vast open world, engaging story and fleshed out world. Definitely the best Zelda in ages, maybe even the best Zelda ever! I one hundred percent recommend it too anybody with a Nintendo Switch!

    Loving the game so far.

    It gives me a creative way on how to solve puzzles and problems. If it doesn't work, I'll try a different way on how to solve it. This is really fun game. You will see that the developers really put everything into it.

    The graphics isn't terrible. It only drops some frame rate from time to time but I'm not complaining. From what it's worth, 10/10 for me.

Zelda TOTK has plenty of distinctive and innovative new implementations, mechanics, story changes and even philosophy reinterpretation in order to change the meta-vision of the game in a spiritual way (the zonai culture) rather than a technological way (the sheikah conception of the world) that make this game not just very different to BOTW but rather unique and even better, more complex and entertaining that its prequel.

    Congratulations to Nintendo and to all the gamers and developers, regardless of the platform, we should all be proud of achieving this level of narrative, game mechanics, game scale and uniqueness in experience as part of the human technical, philosophical and artistical way of expression.     A central idea behind Breath of the Wild was that you, the player, have the freedom to avoid anything you don't personally find fun. If the game offers you something that doesn't tickle your fancy, it is almost certainly completely optional. Tears of the Kingdom also believes this philosophy and provides hundreds of hours of content for you to decide what it is you find fun and to jump all the way into that. Fan of exploration? This is your game. Prefer side quests? Plenty of those too. Rather spend your time fighting enemies? Combat is diverse, satisfying, and engaging. Want to enjoy a story that rewards fans of the series? It has that too. Pretty much anything you could ask for in a video game can be found in Tears of the Kingdom without looking too far.

    There are essentially 3 types of people who won't like this game: people who don't enjoy games with an encumbrance of freedom, classic Zelda fans who want the series to return to its roots, and people who find its admittedly unorthodox control scheme too tedious to adjust to. If you are one of these people, you probably will still find lots to enjoy during a playthrough, but you'll see the reviews and think it is undeserving of its inordinately high praise. To that end, I think an objective viewer of this game's merits would come to the same conclusion many of us have which is that Tears of the Kingdom delivers extreme quality despite personal preferences.

Even after 8 hours of gameplay, I still haven't even left the "tutorial area" of the game which is called a sky island but feels more like a sky dungeon, and I love it for that. It's obvious that Tears of the kingdom shares many elements of breath of the wild, and that's no secret as that's what was literally stated, but unless you have a major issue with that, I would not let that be a deterrent. There is no end to what you can do or experiment with. Materials also feel much more useful instead of lying useless in your inventory. Item diversity feels more fleshed out and fun. The crafting aspect in this game makes it feel like anything is possible. All of these elements come together to capture and recreate that wondrous feeling experienced when playing breath of the wild. So if tears of the kingdom has copied anything from breath of the wild, it would be the concept of being a masterpiece.… Expand

    This game teaches how to make a sequel to a game.
    It's different, unique, but still feels like the first one. It have it's soul!
    Definitely not repetitive and absolutely worth playing!!
    The game is awesome, really, the game design innovates a lot, the plot is really well written, the new pieces of lore to the Zelda universe are awesome!
    This game is a must!

    After spending 40+ hours I can safely say, that this game is a absolute gem. Yes it is similar to BOTW in many aspects, but also very different from it too. With more than double the size to explore and a world filled with secrets and things to explore, prepare to get lost for hours. The new abilities are all very good thought through and enable the player to solve problems their own unique way.

    I wasn't sure how Nintendo would find a way to top their work in Breath of the Wild back when it came out, but I feel they have here – with years of more polish applied and refined exploration. [Issue #66 – July/August 2023, p. 71]

    The good thing is that, thanks to the limited possibilities, the creators couldn't go crazy and swing for hundreds of game miles. Instead, they created what could be called Elden Ring in a travel pack. [Issue#328]

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
