    The game as a whole was amazing. From the dungeons to the final boss, I was smiling the whole way through. I really don’t know how the Legend of Zelda franchise is ever going to top this.

    After playing 40+ hours of TotK I am going to say in my opinion it is better than BOTW the story is better, the dungeons are better for the most part and I found myself wanting to fully explore Hyrule more in this game than in BOTW. One thing I liked about it is the temple bosses are different from each other compared to the blights you face in Breath of the Wild, Colgera's fight wasAfter playing 40+ hours of TotK I am going to say in my opinion it is better than BOTW the story is better, the dungeons are better for the most part and I found myself wanting to fully explore Hyrule more in this game than in BOTW. One thing I liked about it is the temple bosses are different from each other compared to the blights you face in Breath of the Wild, Colgera's fight was actually impressive.     Being able to feel the love I have for TP in ToTK (all other games as well.) I am amazed how they have able to one-up BoTW is incredible to me. Both story and just exploring the world once again and noticing the small details that have changed from BoTW and ToTK is beautifully done.

    Masterpiece in every sense. This is the best game I've ever played, perfect sequel to BOTW. All the negative ratings and reviews are funny and nonesense. This is a sequel what did you expect, the only complain is better graphics, but that's not a huge deal breaker for me.

    Game is amazing! Takes everything that worked well from botw and updated it with new twists and features that makes it a sprawling experience! Story is exciting, bosses are fun, puzzles are challenging and fun, and the world is bigger and better than ever! A must play 100%!

    Never have i ever played a single player game for so long and felt so rewarded in the end, as i say to my friends, Zelda TOTK is not just a game, it is an experience.

    The game builds itself in an fantastic away, and make a lot of other world exploration games looks kinda boring.

    Altough some of the Bosses could be better all the new abilities make this game a completly new Zelda game. Many people say that Totk is just an DLC and i understand that but with the addition of the dephts and the sky it's a new and fresh experience. The best thing in the game in my opinion is... YOU CAN ROAST KOROKS NOW

    It’s like a fresh air, Nintendo did it again, when you think this couldn’t be better and it’s absolutely better. Totally addictive, you can’t be bored with the new mechanics of game, they having you playing by hours and hours.

    Over 100 hours in and yet I still have so much to do. It’s the game that just keeps giving. The size and scope of the game is second to none and I’ve never felt so free to explore every bit of it. It reminds me of how I felt playing Elden Ring, but I think that Tears of the Kingdom does exploration even better. It's so much easier to see something off in the distance and say, “I want to goOver 100 hours in and yet I still have so much to do. It’s the game that just keeps giving. The size and scope of the game is second to none and I’ve never felt so free to explore every bit of it. It reminds me of how I felt playing Elden Ring, but I think that Tears of the Kingdom does exploration even better. It's so much easier to see something off in the distance and say, “I want to go do that”, and it’s so easy to get there by building any vehicle you can imagine to transport you. The game just feels so advanced from any other game and is amazing in every category. Elden Ring and Breath of the Wild are both 10/10 games, but Tears of the Kingdom just breaks the scale. It would be a shame for any gamer to miss out on this experience. I’ve never done a metacritic review and created an account for this to be my first one.     Amazing game Nintendo did it again. I didn't really find any problem with the frame rate and the graphics are good too. Games aren't about graphics that Nintendo has tested over and over again.

    This game takes the prequel and multiples it by a hundred and it catches your attention in everything it also gas some aspects of the old game yet somehow they don’t feel repetitive and the new abilities just adds on the fun whenever u solve a puzzle your way it always feels good and makes you feel smart this game is a masterpiece

    Didnt think Nintendo could make a better game than BOTW but they did. They kept all the great mechanics of BOTW and expanded upon it and its world to make an even better Zelda game 10/10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you played and enjoyed BotW, you will definitely enjoy Tears of the Kingdom. The puzzles that you can complete can be solved in many ways and if you solve it your way, it feels way more satisfying. The abilities such as Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend ect. are super fun to play with. Wether you make a unique vehicle with Ultrahand, Fuse some powerful and cool looking weapons and shields or Acsend to new heights, I know even newcomers to the Legend of Zelda games will enjoy this game and get immediately hooked. I’ve got pretty much no problems with this game because of how much time Nintendo put into this game. It seems so weird that Nintendo only announced this game in 2019 and 4 years to make a sequel to game that changed the world of Open World games forever and make it such a banger. The story is really amazing as well! You start at the beginning only with a few things to work with, Ganondorf is set free to Hyrule to destroy it and cast it to eternal night and Zelda is transported to the past where she sees the founders and first King and Queen of Hyrule, King Rauru and Queen Sonia. As you traverse through the story you find geoglyphs that give you memories to make the plot of ToTK and more clear and more information about the past in King Rauru and Queen Sonia’s time. Did I even mention the final trailer they gave us?! It felt so amazing to watch. I was at the premiere on YouTube waiting desperately to see the final trailer and the wait was so worth it. The final trailer was pretty much the chef’s kiss to the game before it was out for purchase. So I continue playing this game giving it a solid 10/10 and hope for it to win so many rewards and hopefully Game Of The Year.… Expand

However, Tears of the Kingdom really gripped me. I loved way it brought back some classic monsters and added new ones. I loved the return of Ganondorf. The little connections to classic Zelda lore sprinkled into this new formula. I loved the little Easter eggs for shippers, the way it eschews the timeline while honoring the series, the new abilities, the ways it encourages the cheesing rampant in BotW, the new puzzles, pretty much everything. Seeing this fandom more alive than ever is a great joy. The story made me so emotional, and the ending was triumphant, but I'm still coming back for hours long sessions. I adore this game, and I'm so excited to see how Zelda will continue to evolve.… Expand

    at first i was a little bit skeptical about reusing the same map but after playing i ask myself how did they add so much stuff in only 6 years and how did they optimize it to make it run on a 6 year old console with a chip from 2015,
    the gameplay is reminiscent of botw but a lot better

Tears of the Kingdom was an amazing game, I originally had my doubts about it being a rehash, but with the new Storytelling through Dragontears and modern story arcs. Especially Zelda becoming (and then unbecoming) a damn dragon just to restore the Master Sword is awe inspiring. The Story had me in tears (haha) multiple times for multiple reasons, that's basis for a GOTY in itself.

    But the gameplay, oh good God the gameplay was amazing. I could create a freaking tank if I wanted to. One time I couldn't get past the monsters at Fort Hateno, and so I created my "Oh **** Wagon" which was a wagon with walls a roof, and fans. I charged the camp, lit on fire, and escaped on low health laughing the whole time. Yes my design failed, but it also succeeded at the same time, and gave me a good laugh. That's what the gameplay of Tears of the Kingdom does, it makes you laugh, it makes you feel clever, it makes you entertained and wonder "what can I do next?" That's beautiful game design.

    All in all, with Gameplay as good as this, Story as good as this, and Graphics as good as the Switch allows. Tears of the Kingdom runs well, and is such a blast to play. I look forward to November, when I watch this game take it's Game of the Year crown, just like it's predecessor.    … Expand

    Even though people say it's the same as botw it's not it is a whole new game it may have some of the stuff in it but a lot of games that have a squeal have that. I have played over 100 hours on it and I can't stop exploring everything finding new costumes and doing side quests and killing a lot of mini bosses. To wrap this all up is just buy it

    So far around 30hrs into TOTK and i cant put the game down. Major improvements to breath of the wild both in gameplay and its design, and this is a very fun new trip into hyrule.

The world's many layers, quests, puzzles, encounters and sheer possibilities will keep you playing for what feels like eternities. The open world's similarities end at the first glance, and has content at an unimaginable scale. The world's many layers, quests, puzzles, encounters and sheer possibilities will keep you playing for what feels like eternities. I've never in a game had the feeling of freedom and wonder shine so clearly. The only negative i can think of is the hardware, it is an absolute miracle that a game with a map over twice the size of Elden ring's can run on the Nintendo switch.

    This game offers the pinnacle of open world design with a soundtrack and spectacle that will leave you in awe for years to come. The controls take some getting used to but if you are familiar with the previous game then after the first 10 hours or so you should be fine.     vedere annunciato il seguito diretto di botw ambientato nella stessa mappa era una scelta doppiamente rischiosa, che avrebbe potuto facilmente portare ad un senso di già visto, e di poca voglia di esplorare nuovamente quel mondo, ma totk non è un semplice dlc che aggiunge due isolette volanti e qualche potere nuovo.
    anche in questo capitolo il senso di libertà è pressoché infinito e anzi    vedere annunciato il seguito diretto di botw ambientato nella stessa mappa era una scelta doppiamente rischiosa, che avrebbe potuto facilmente portare ad un senso di già visto, e di poca voglia di esplorare nuovamente quel mondo, ma totk non è un semplice dlc che aggiunge due isolette volanti e qualche potere nuovo.
    anche in questo capitolo il senso di libertà è pressoché infinito e anzi amplificato da tutte le nuove potenzialità.
    cancellare completamente i vecchi poteri per metterne di nuovi, è stata una scelta tanto azzardata quanto riuscita.se prima i poteri risultavano quasi limitati alla precisa situazione, ora ci daranno ancora più libertà per interagire con il mondo di gioco e permetterci di fare quello che vogliamo.
    se prima potevamo prendere gli oggetti di metallo, ora possiamo prendere ogni singolo oggetto, e collegarlo con altri oggetti per creare veicoli e tante altre cose.
    se prima ci si rompeva un'arma ora la possiamo collegare con un'altra per farle durare di più e creare tante variabili diverse potendole collegare anche con tutti i vari consumabili, se prima i bastoni o le alabarde erano un po inutili, ora potendole trasformare in quello che vogliamo risultano le armi più interessanti di tutte.
    parlando di scoperta dei nuovi poteri, quello che mi ha fatto più volte dire: ah ma io posso fare questo. è il potere di poter attraversare i soffitti, tanto difficile da implementare nel game design tanto bello riuscire a risolvere enigmi passando sotto essi.
    ma quello che è davvero più incredibile di tutti è quello che manda indietro nel tempo gli oggetti.
    si switch ha in memoria la posizione di tutti gli oggetti che si spostano nel gioco, e manda indietro solo quello che selezioniamo.
    a tutti questi nuovi poteri si aggiunge anche una piacevole cosa introdotta con il dlc di botw, dove il gioco terrà traccia di tutte le strade che percorreremo durante il gioco, aiutando molto a capire quali parti delle mappa dobbiamo ancora visitare.
    se è vero che totk continua a non raggiungere la qualità dei vecchi dungeon, quanto visto in questo capitolo però eclissa completamente quelli di botw.
    caratterizzandoli meglio come stile, mettendo delle meccaniche uniche che sbloccheremo grazie alle abilità del compagno che ci aiuterà nel dungeon di turno. e infine mettendo dei boss unici, che non puntano sulla difficoltà della sfida ma che continuano a farci scoprire come usare il nuovo potere imparato.
    i sacrari invece in parte serviranno a farci imparare i nuovi poteri, essendo a tutti gli effetti dei tutorial, e alcuni potranno essere completati ancor prima di entrarci, dato che la vera sfida sarà riuscire ad entrare.
    in generale comunque li ho trovati più divertenti da trovare e completare, permettendoci appunto di sperimentare al massimo tutti i nuovi poteri, è vero che risultano un po più semplici, ma preferendo quello che posso fare con i nuovi poteri era inevitabile preferire questi nuovi sacrari.
    anche le missioni secondarie le ho trovate meno inutili da fare rispetto a quelle che avevo fatto in botw, e anche qui il merito è tutto dato alla sperimentazione dei poteri nuovi.
    dato che si baseranno in parte sulla costruzione di mezzi, o magari sulla costruzione di strutture per sostenere dei cartelli messi sempre di più in luoghi improbabili, e da delle forme sempre meno semplici da sostenere.
    e anche per quanto riguarda la trama del passato mi trovo a preferire quanto visto in questo capitolo, sia perchè è meno complessa da trovare. sia perchè non racconta una storia tanto lontana, o perlomeno la storia è ambientata lontana, ma è molto più interessante per quello che sta accadendo nel presente. senza entrare nel dettaglio è complesso da spiegare.
    senza contare le diverse parti sotterranee, creando a tutti gli effetti una seconda hyrule sotterranea tutta da scoprire.

    se la parte a terra è quella più simile a botw, una volta andati in cielo dovremo imparare a spostarci tra un'isola e l'altra, e risolvere le tipologie di enigmi che ci verranno proposti, che sono differenti da quelli visti a terra.
    mentre una volta andati sotto terra, ci sposteremo in un ambiente completamente buio, pieno di miasma dove non potremo camminarci sopra, e se le prime zone non saranno difficilissime essendo pianeggianti, in altre zone avremo ben altri problemi per capire come arrivare in determinati punti.
    questa alternanza di situazioni, oltre a rendere il titolo vastissimo e pieno di cose da fare, porterà ad avere un titolo basato su tre dimensioni differenti.
    totk prende botw e lo migliora pressoché ogni singolo aspetto, elevandolo a tal punto da diventare uno dei migliori giochi mai fatti.

    Tears of the Kingdom is everything Breath of the Wild needed to be. The beginning is longer, but it feels so rewarding when you finally get past it. The ability to create anything you want is necessary. I do not understand anyone who does not like this game. Easy 10/10, would go 100/10 if I could.

    TOTK is a fantastic game carrying on over from BOTW. The game introduces new and amazing mechanics with more enemies and even new places to explore. Sky islands and the Depths really brings out the genre "adventure" that this game holds. What started as a DLC ended up being a wonderful adventure game with a rich story.

    After 120+ hours in game i finally managed to finish this masterpiece. I cried a bit at the end this game Is the best game i've ever played in my whole Life.
    The exploration and the open world Is something that Will never be topped, the story Is awesome, the artstyle Is Amazing. I couldnt find negative traits in this game it's worth the 70€

Speaking of Breath of the Wild, it took that already near perfect game and improved it 10 fold. TotK has lots of enemy variety, infinite weapons thanks to fuse, great bosses, and improves on pretty much everything else you can think of. The cell shaded graphics are beautiful, and it is amazing that you can fall from the sky all the way down to the depths seamlessly with no loading screens or lag. The world is filled to the brim with things to do. I have 200 hours in the game already and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface of the game. Everywhere you go there is something to do or someplace to explore. I often find myself getting sidetracked by things because of how much there is to do. I can be doing something on a sky island and spot something interesting on the surface. Next thing you know, I find a chasm and end up fighting a gloom covered King Gleeok in the depths. Every day I discover tons of new things in the game that I had no idea existed. While I am on the topic of the depths, they are massive. The depths are the same size as Hyrule's surface. Ancient mines, factories, and Yiga Clan hideouts can be found all over the depths, making it really fun to explore. In conclusion, if you want a massive open world game with fun gameplay, great characters, and an engaging story, Tears of the Kingdom is the game for you.… Expand

    I wasn't sure how Nintendo would find a way to top their work in Breath of the Wild back when it came out, but I feel they have here – with years of more polish applied and refined exploration. [Issue #66 – July/August 2023, p. 71]

    The good thing is that, thanks to the limited possibilities, the creators couldn't go crazy and swing for hundreds of game miles. Instead, they created what could be called Elden Ring in a travel pack. [Issue#328]

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
