    Just wow, everything from the gameplay to the new abilities, the boss's and their soundtracks is amazing. I have already put in way too many hours in this masterpiece yet I still haven’t touched a tenth of what you can do. This game is a must.

    After 135 hours, I have to say I love this game. In the most basic way, you can go in literally directions and find something unique, interesting, and fun to do. At first, the weapon durability is annoying, but once you catch on to what they're going for, it's amazing to fuse parts and weapons for crazy powerful combos.

    Even though it's called DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I love the TOTK mechanic! BOTW with improved mechanics and not a bad story!

    Best game I ever played this year! Actually I am more into sport and racing games like Fifa and Need for Speed and I don't even like to play action-adventure game before, but this Tears of the Kingdom really get my attention. Absolutely amazing story and gameplay.

    This game did what a sequel is supposed to do by building upon BOTW's mechanics and by adding upgraded features. The two main things I enjoyed most from this game is the insane amount of exploration and the fun building mechanics. The music and art design were both fantastic just like BOTW. I was happy to play this game because I enjoyed BOTW, so no matter what, I was going to like thisThis game did what a sequel is supposed to do by building upon BOTW's mechanics and by adding upgraded features. The two main things I enjoyed most from this game is the insane amount of exploration and the fun building mechanics. The music and art design were both fantastic just like BOTW.     Combine everything that made Breath of the Wild amazing with the pure amazingness of Little Big Planet physical contraptions and you get a fraction of what makes Tears of the Kingdom a masterpiece.
    One of the extremely rare times where I'm in pure awe of how amazing a game is and I can comfortably call it a masterpiece.

    This game has recaptured the magic I felt playing breath of the wild for the first time. Everything feels new and there is so much more to do. Every time I plan to go somewhere I discover many things to distract me along the way. This is definitely a true sequel and not a dlc as people are claiming.

    Waited till I had over 40 hours before reviewing this gane. I still feel like I've only scratched the surface. Just defeated my first Greok (3 headed dragon thing). It's got to be one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Fantastic mini boss, incredibly tough. Had to learn how to fight it as I went along. Survived by the skin of my teeth. My zoni tech had failed me. At points IWaited till I had over 40 hours before reviewing this gane. I still feel like I've only scratched the surface.     Nintendo have created something amazing here that elevates botw to a new epic level. You learn the mechanics then it all just comes together as you need it. Just fantastic.    … Expand

    Incredible follow up to BotW, improving on it's predecessor in almost every way and expanding significantly with a much bigger world and much bigger amount of content.

    The people who say it runs in 20fps and stutters are liars and clearly didn't play the game, same goes for the people who say the overworld didn't change at all.

    I'm amazed how they were able to 1-up themselves with this game. Truly is a wonderful experience, the building mechanics are awesome and being able to explore the world again and just get distracted so much doing so many things is just tons of fun. I'll probably be updating this review once I've finished the game, but didn't wanna wait forever to post this.

    Tears of the Kingdom is a triumph in game design. The sheer amount of freedom given to the player to do whatever they want is absolutely staggering. The world is dense and there are secrets to find around every corner, the story is surprisingly fantastic for a Zelda game so far, and the soundtrack is beautiful. One of the best games ever made.

    Like many of the games in this Franchise, this game has caught and held my attention. I went into it blind, and every step of it has been genuinely surprising. The early game exploration was amazing... discovering the underworld, and the absolute freedom, can be overwhelming.     Better story than BOTW, more creative, however the game feels the same as before, the world, the enemies, the gameplay except for ultrahand and the difference approaches to solve the shrines.
    Good game overall, deserves 8.5/10.
    If it had a long chain of main quests like 30 -40 hrs that would be perfect and will be a drastic change from BoTW, I prefer the old Zelda games to be honest.

    Best game i played in 2023 so far.
    The game ist verry fun and there ist a lot to do. and i mean a lot.
    Some of the aspects are rebooted from BOTW. And BOTW was all new so thats why its a 9/10.
    Overall ist a great expirience for player who like sandbox / Builing / collecting games.
    Not a game for everyone but for me its the game of the year!

    The game as a whole was amazing. From the dungeons to the final boss, I was smiling the whole way through. I really don’t know how the Legend of Zelda franchise is ever going to top this.

However, Tears of the Kingdom really gripped me. I loved way it brought back some classic monsters and added new ones. I loved the return of Ganondorf. The little connections to classic Zelda lore sprinkled into this new formula. I loved the little Easter eggs for shippers, the way it eschews the timeline while honoring the series, the new abilities, the ways it encourages the cheesing rampant in BotW, the new puzzles, pretty much everything. Seeing this fandom more alive than ever is a great joy. The story made me so emotional, and the ending was triumphant, but I'm still coming back for hours long sessions. I adore this game, and I'm so excited to see how Zelda will continue to evolve.… Expand

    To save you some time, if you liked Breath of the Wild, you'll like Tears of the Kingdom as well. If you didn't, nothing will change your mind. It's all here. Engaging exploration, cute visuals, lots of surprises, crazy breakable weapons, shrines, great OST, koroks, creepy enemies, cool towers, funny writing, a nice story and endless gameplay    Nintendo did it again. Sort of.

    To save you some time, if you liked Breath of the Wild, you'll like Tears of the Kingdom as well. If you didn't, nothing will change your mind.

    It's all here. Engaging exploration, cute visuals, lots of surprises, crazy breakable weapons, shrines, great OST, koroks, creepy enemies, cool towers, funny writing, a nice story and endless gameplay possibilities.

    Only now you have some pretty new and impressive things to keep things fresh. Ascend is probably one of my favorite mechanics ever in a game, ultrahand is godsend, endlessly attaching things to your items never gets old and rewinding is pretty useful and creative. I'm not a "puzzle" guy and I thought these new things weren't going to stick the landing with me, but I was definitely wrong. It all works very well.

    There are also two new maps. The sky islands and the depths. I absolutely loved everything in the sky, especially how well they were implemented to the story. It's astonishing. The depths were pretty fun and ominous at first, but became annoying and repetitive after a while.

    TOTK is definitely remarkable, with plenty of things to catch you off guard, from the story to gameplay. The ending nearly brought me to tears, with some of the best "cinematic" moments and battles I've experienced in this franchise. It is, without a doubt, an excellent sequel to BOTW. A good one, with few flaws to point at.

    Yet, one major feeling slowly crawled inside me on my 180h playthrough.

    The sense of novelty kinda vanishes. Don't get me wrong, a game isn't supposed to throw new and shocking things at you at all times! But that overwhelming feeling I had when I played BOTW faded after 80h in. I felt like I was pretty much done with it after experiencing nearly everything new that the game had to offer. But there were MANY other things to do and explore. Felt like I was playing BOTW again and, although I LOVE that game, its replay factor might be its weakest aspect.

    That's really the only thing I have to complain about it. Or the biggest thing, in a way. A few problems from the previous entry are still here (like how they handle the story and the infinite shrine hunting) and the new "friend abilities" don't hold a candle to the likes of Revali's Gale or Mipha's Grace. But this might just be me nitpicking at this point, to be honest.

    Tears of the Kingdom is a fantastic game and there's A LOT to talk about it. But, for now, I'll just repeat what I said before: if you're like me, and you loved BOTW, pick this one up NOW. If you didn't, it might not change your mind.    … Expand

It's entertaining to see people try to affect this games meta score by throwing out review bombs and still not making a dent in its high marks due to the overwhelming positive reaction to this game. If you can't stand this game because it's popular and positive reviews, maybe your problem isn't this game..

    Same map as botw but the ads like temples are not enaugth for being a 10.
    Its like a persona 5 royal. Half of the game is the same as the game launch ed on 2017.

    It's everything a sequel should be.
    Breath of the was 2017's game of the year and I'm sure Tears of the kingdom will be 2023's. It feels incredible complex, fun and full of amazing details, the freedom and flexibility the player has is just one of a kind.
    This is the game of the generation and an evolution to the open world games.

    Very good game! Sadly Baldur's Gate 3 fanboys are right now review bombing both Tears of the Kingdom and Final Fantasy XVI. I'm not sure why or what is their goal, because Baldur's Gate would never win GOTY anyway, but i guess they just want to show how toxic they are.

    Greatest game of all time. I said this previously about breath of the Wild, but this game took that as a foundation and dialed it up to 100. Crazy world building that had me constantly coming back to it. Took me 120 hours to beat the first time and I loved every moment.

    Do not be confused by low rated comments that clearly didn’t play much of the game.

The surface map has been updated with plenty of new areas to explore, and older areas have new features that make them feel distinctly different than their Breath of the Wild counterpart. There's also a sprawling undergroundA worthy sequel to Breath of the Wild. I admit, I was sceptical that this game was truly a sequel and not just a glorified DLC. Boy was I wrong, and I'm glad I was. The surface map has been updated with plenty of new areas to explore, and older areas have new features that make them feel distinctly different than their Breath of the Wild counterpart. There's also a sprawling underground cave and numerous sky islands that the play will be exploring for hours.

    The story is good enough, if not slightly predictable. Overall if you liked Breath of the Wild you need to buy this game. It's not quite the 10/10 that several reviewers are giving it, but it's a shining example of how to do a sequel right at a time when all other major game developers are dropping the ball.    … Expand

I thought going in I would get bored exploring the same map again but let me say this IS NOT the same map from all the added caves on Hyrule which are tons of fun to find and explore to the depths which like the sky islands are completely new leaving soGame of the year by far. At first I was afraid that, after 100+ hours with Botw, I would find this one boring, but was surprised when I was a few hours in and noticed that it was quite the contrary: a bigger, more diverse world divided intro three realms, new weapons, new enemies, new locations and amazing new gadgets that leave nothing to your imagination. A masterpiece.

    This is the game of all time. This is much better than Breath of The Wild with the story, mechanics, and the content is MASSIVE. My only complaint is that in some places, the framerate drops sometimes like in the beginning area and Hebra mountain. Definitely a GOTY game for me.

    The latest installment in the Zelda franchise makes Breath of the Wild seem like an appetizer. There is so much to see and do in this expanded Hyrule, which makes for hours of fun. The new gameplay mechanics are executed perfectly, and really add a fresh feel to the game. Well done Nintendo.

Sencillamente me atrapó como muy pocos juegos lo han hecho.     Pas de spoil, juste l'avis d'un joueur amoureux de la licence. Oui, graphiquement, c'est de la Switch, mais dans ce qu'il ce fait de mieux. Et mon seul bémol, c'est la prise en mai, moins fluide et rapide que BOTW. Car les possibilités sont enormes et demandent donc pas mal de manipulation. Mais une fois cette étape passé ? Que du plaisir. On a la possibilité d'effectuer les actions pourPas de spoil, juste l'avis d'un joueur amoureux de la licence.     It's even better than botw. Something I never thought would be possible. Every flaw that botw had were improved. If you liked botw then you'll love totk. If you hated botw you'll hate totk. If you missed the classical zelda but enjoyed botw you will absolutely want to play this game

    Si fuera por mi, diria que el juego es una joya y que nintendo se esfuerza cuando quiere. No me dejare llevar por la opinion popular ya que este juego como dicen una parte de la comunidad es muy bueno, yo tengo mi propia opinion.     Este juego es increíble, ya le he echado más de 100 horas de juego y no me entran ganas de rushearmelo e ir por Ganondorf sino seguir explorando, con todas las nuevas mecánicas implementadas este juego se siente mucho más completo que su precuela, el BOTW, la cantidad de cosas que hay en el mapa y como te entretienes con cualquiera de ellas es fascinante, simplemente un excelente juego.

    Don't let anyone tell you this game isn't worth it or that it's just a DLC for Breath of the Wild, thisbis a worthy sequel easily surpassing the first entry with a lot of innovation.

    This is botw on steroids you don’t just explore nature and find treasure you actually have a lot of side missions and quests to do, yes even more than botw and they feel more entertaining, there’s just so juch to do and so hyrule feels alive this time

    Because of this I won't give 9/10 but 10/10. I hate the terrible performance and graphical problems in Totk, too, but 0/10 on the other hand is absolutely unfair.     And those who rate this game as 0/10 because the story is "bad" or the characters "poorly" written, then they should stop buying Nintendo games because I can't remember any Nintendo game to be focused on a more than basic story with complex characters. Nintendo said already more than a decade ago that their focus is gameplay. The story is just a "pretence" to explain the world and not the main point of the game itself. GODDAMIT

    TloZ: Tears of the Kingdom is a masterpiece. And of course nothing is perfect but it can get as close as possible. It makes Breath of the Wild (1) look like a demo because of the size of the world, the mechanics, the quests and YES even the story has a little more. Breath of the wild (1) didn't have as much story context/focus spread in the world and the quests as Totk has. There are story missions that give you context to what happened. But don't forget, the story still does not fill 99% of the time in the game.

    Not to forget the musical improvement and the fascinating atmosphere because of the dynamic playback of single music notes depending on your interaction and position within the world.

    But the biggest and most important plus here is the gameplay and the quests: Tears of the Kingdom is filled with quests and things to do which can suddenly create context to another quest, the main mission or a new area.
    Botw(1) was way more basic when it came to quest and mission which were VERY often poorly rewarded so you stopped caring about sidequests after a while. But in Totk you get multiple rewards/items from certain quests. Some of them even give you great advantages, open new paths and improve your equipment.

    The world is full of stuff and things to do. I don't get why people say things like:
    "The entire world+story feels forced, and carried by a gimmick which distracts you from how empty and lifeless TOTK really is"
    WTF MAN? did you even bother to enjoy the atmosphere? If you can't stand your own thoughts for one second you didn't get the Title "breath of the WILD". It's NOT "Breath of Duty: Modern wild II"
    It's an open world game which give you atmosphere and time to breath the wild in.
    Get it?

    Of course I consider that these type of critics are subjective and we all just say what we think about a game or movie. But when I give my opinion I also try to consider what it's made for and if I personally only can't stand some aspects of an art piece.

    It's just that I absolutely don't agree people saying it's the same as Botw (1), nothing changed or that you don't know what to do.
    This just shows you guys are NOT "made" for this type of games. You need something right in the face and don't like to think even a single second about the world and its possiblities.

    As I said above: It's subjective, but statements like these are ignorant and just false.

It even surpasses BOTW in so many ways, but the gameplay feels as fluid, if not better! The shrines are nicer, the towers are sometimes harder to active than those of BOTW and everything else, just feels different, yet, familiar! The world in this game, both on the ground, underground and above the clouds looks and feels AMAZING! I’m over 100 hours in and have not even finished 30% of the game!! There’s way more to do in this game than in BOTW, at the 100 hours mark I was done with most of what the world had to give, just some little side quests left and korok seeds, for the rest, I was pretty done. That comes to show that TOTK is way bigger in map size, gameplay and everything else!

    I definitely recommend for everyone who loved BOTW and those who did not play BOTW, well do, and play this one too, you’ll adore both!    … Expand

    The good thing is that, thanks to the limited possibilities, the creators couldn't go crazy and swing for hundreds of game miles. Instead, they created what could be called Elden Ring in a travel pack. [Issue#328]

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
