    I mean... okay. This is the sequel of the legendary Zelda BOTW but despite some viral sandbox mechanics it fails to deliver. A great game, but surely not a 10 like its magnificent predecessor.

    Nintendo hit has done it again! Tears of the Kingdom adds so much more to Breath of the Wild's Hyrule that it feels like a new game despite taking place in the new world. Traversing familiar areas with player created Zonai vehicles breathes new life into the overworld. The dungeons and bosses in this game are a step in the right direction. The new weapon fusion system is a creativeNintendo hit has done it again!     The only thing wrong in this game was the marketing that made it look like the sky area was where most of the new content was, when in reality it was the depths but it still deserves a 10/10 this is what any game dev should look up to (also ending made me cry in a game for the first time).

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Tears of the Kingdom brings so many fun mechanics to the already great foundation that Breath of the Wild created. The depths added hours of fun exploration and although there are not too many sky islands, the rewards I found up there were always a joy to obtain. The dungeons are a huge improvement over its predecessor but once again the shrines can start to feel a little repetitive and tedious after some time.

    Being able to visit this version of Hyrule one more time and experience the changes to the overworld and characters left me constantly smiling. The only reason this score is an 8 for me instead of higher is parts of the game do feel very similar to BOTW which in this case is both a positive and a negative.    … Expand

    I'm gonna make it short. Best game of the year, one of the greatest of all time. Nintendo improved Botw in every single way. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm pretty far in the story, The dungeons are a bit underwhelming, but it's compensated by the fact that the world is so rich and full of things to do, and that the shrines have much better puzzles this time. Also the new powers areI'm gonna make it short. Best game of the year, one of the greatest of all time. Nintendo improved Botw in every single way.     Absolute masterpiece. The greatest game I have ever played.
    The maps and things to be discovered are incredible.
    Combat is fun and engaging. Building mechanics are very fun and make you feel stupid a LOT. You will get confused by this game. The controls are very complex and frustrating, but with time you'll master them. Expect to enjoy this game leisurely. Between constantly getting    Absolute masterpiece. The greatest game I have ever played.

    Loads of NPCs and text, which I love personally This game is extremely complicated and sometimes it expects you just "F around and find out", play and try things.
    It's also beautiful and I'm used to the sort of slow frame rate stuff, it doesn't bother me at all. I consider it deliberate for the most part but I recognize it frustrates some people.
    I have never had the game crash yet or severely glitch out but I may just be lucky, we'll see.    … Expand

    I am about 150 hours in, and I can say this is a massive improvement on what breath of the wild brought to the gaming world. I still feel like there is so much content left to enjoy and I am excited to maybe put another 150 hours in. The new world layers feel great and fresh, and all serve their own purposes. All of the new skills feel fresh and fun to use, unlike BOTW where a few skills /I am about 150 hours in, and I can say this is a massive improvement on what breath of the wild brought to the gaming world. I still feel like there is so much content left to enjoy and I am excited to maybe put another 150 hours in. The new world layers feel great and fresh, and all serve their own purposes.     La verdad es no creía que fuese a salir bien porque por lo general las secuelas no superan al original peroooo este supera en casi todo al breath of te wild es increíble lo que lograron hacer con la saga, me tomo más de 100 horas en terminarlo por la cantidad de cosas que había para hacer y aún así me queda tanto por hacer.

    - The world in general is just fun to wander round and explore
    - Caves are a great addition to spice up the overworld
    - Runes make combat and exploration more fun as you can now make your own weapons and vehicles.
    - The sky is pretty good and the overworld shrine quests are fun
    - The story is overall an improvement (and I thought BotW already had a decent story)

    Bad Points:
    - Too much of the game feels reused from BotW which really hampers the exploration
    - Having to fuse things to your weapons / arrows every time to make them useful gets tedious over time, especially with the game's durability system. You can't fuse items in the inventory and have to activate the rune in the overworld which is just baffling.
    - The depths are just ok. They feel pretty empty compared to the rest of the game.    … Expand

    It's simply perfect. This Zelda features by far the most advanced mechanics in the gaming industry, and by a long shot. Graphically, it's beautiful, and the story is one of the best in the franchise. A resounding 10/10, already becoming one of the greatest video games of all time. A GOTY that will be talked about for decades to come.

    Phenomenal game. The breaking weapons can be annoying but you come across new ones so fast it begins to not matter.

    The building is fun although becomes a little necessary.

    The sky mechanics are incredible. It really does feel like an expansive open world and to me, does feel a lot like Zelda still too

    The game is better than I dared to ever hope for, and easily takes the crown as best game in the series for me. Visual and sound design are superb, the gameplay, puzzles and creativity are amazing, and the story and characters are a significant improvement on BOTW. Most importantly, I get a feeling of childlike wonder and awe playing this, which is exceptionally rare to find in a videoThe game is better than I dared to ever hope for, and easily takes the crown as best game in the series for me.     Tears of the Kingdom takes what it's predecessor did so great and somehow makes it even greater. The creators thought of countless ways to get people discovering more and more of hyrule and investing so much time into finding every nook and cranny of the map with a map that dwarves Breath of the Wilds. The world isn't empty whatsoever, the story is absolutely amazing (with a finale thatTears of the Kingdom takes what it's predecessor did so great and somehow makes it even greater. The creators thought of countless ways to get people discovering more and more of hyrule and investing so much time into finding every nook and cranny of the map with a map that dwarves Breath of the Wilds. The world isn't empty whatsoever, the story is absolutely amazing (with a finale that will become one of the series most iconic I have no doubt), and music which immerses the player in every event, battle or exploration. So much so does Tears of the Kingdom do everything Breath of the Wild does better, that Breath of the Wild has become completely obsolete -- there is simply no reason for anyone to ever go back and play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If you never played Breath of the Wild, just skip it; Tears of the Kingdom does everything Breath of the Wild does, but so much better.

    Though, if you *have* played Breath of the Wild, and have no desire to play it again, Tears of the Kingdom is very much the same game again. And while it does everything Breath of the Wild does, but better, it also doesn't fix any of Breath of the Wild's biggest problems -- such as weapon degradation, its frustrating and unintuitive combat system, and the fact that you can't really do much in the game when it storms.    … Expand

    I enjoyed this game so much. There are so many aspects that I liked, but what I maybe enjoyed the most was exploring the new mechanicas, and coming up with solutions to problems using them. This game is in my opinion best when played knowing nothing up front, and figuring it out for yourself.

    Some frame rate issues is the only negative thing I have to say, but it doesn't get it the way    I enjoyed this game so much.     This is goty for sure. People who are giving it 0s are just trolls or haters. This is botw but with much more things to do. Highly recommend if you enjoy zelda games or open world and building games in general!

    There is a common criticism that 'If you didn't like Breath of the Wild, you won't like Tears of the Kingdom'. That's one that I would have to disagree with-- The game definitely feels more open-ended and easier to get through the world and explore more. My only real criticisms are that while there is a much bigger story, you don't really get to be a part of it. You watch it happen, andThere is a common criticism that 'If you didn't like Breath of the Wild, you won't like Tears of the Kingdom'. That's one that I would have to disagree with-- The game definitely feels more open-ended and easier to get through the world and explore more. My only real criticisms are that while there is a much bigger story, you don't really get to be a part of it. You watch it happen, and feel a bit of a background character in the grand scheme of things. Lots of really great characters, but you don't do much with them. Alongside that, The Sky Islands are very much sent into the background and for a really visually appealing and interesting idea, there isn't very much with it.

    Besides all of that, the game play and experience is exceptional. The presentation of everything feels sincere and is a very comfortable game to play. Much of the core game play elements from Breath of the Wild are still here, like Shrines, Breakable Weapons, and Non-Linear story elements. Those still have their same flaws as they did in Breath of the Wild, although they have had improvements where the majority of complaints originated.    … Expand

    One of the best games i have ever played. It not only improves on every aspect of Breath of The Wild, it perfects it! The world is extremely immersive, the gameplay is fun and exciting and the story is much better than its predecessor’s. The only things i dont like about this game are the side quests that can get repetetive after completeing a lot of them, and the stupid koroks, but thatOne of the best games i have ever played.     I’m actually unsure of how to grade it, so I have reached a kind of compromise. Because on the one hand it's a fantastic game with a great graphic and a tons of hours of entertainment. There are so many things to do and have fun with, but on the other hand it just feels a bit like a new and bigger version of BOTW with more areas to investigate and some more options. In addition, I thinkI’m actually unsure of how to grade it, so I have reached a kind of compromise. Because on the one hand it's a fantastic game with a great graphic and a tons of hours of entertainment. There are so many things to do and have fun with, but on the other hand it just feels a bit like a new and bigger version of BOTW with more areas to investigate and some more options. In addition, I think that the underground is a waste of time. What you find down there is very limited. Besides that, I miss the “old days” when there were far more dungeons with keys, compass, map and a new item. Personally I liked the earlier games better with more dungeons and less side quest.
    Therefore “Zelda: Ocarina of Time” will still be my favorite game.    … Expand

I'll be honest, at first I didn't understand it in the slightest, I was disoriented in the mechanics of destroying weapons, in the "simplified but still intense" combat, but above all by the higher difficulty of the game compared to my standards (my standards: assassin creed)

    Prós: é um jogo muito superior, em todos os aspectos, que Breath of the Wild. Infelizmente muitos haters estão zerando a nota de maneira pouco objetiva. O jogo é no mínimo 2 vezes maior que o jogo anterior (já com os DLCs), por um aumento marginal no preço. O que esse jogo oferece é algo que poucos jogos na sua vida irá oferecer. É um jogo que merece 10 pois a soma dos seus acertos ultrapassa em muito a de seus erros, quando comparado com os outros jogos. É um jogo divertido, emocionante, cativante, que prenderá por horas e permitirá você fazer a maioria das coisas da maneira que você quer, da forma que quer, mesmo quando parece que você está "roubando". The story in tears is much better and more interesting, the dungeons are very fun and the depths are awesome, it's the only game fun enough for me to want to 100% it. The ganondorf fight was really fun and every boss was cool, the ending when you catch Zelda got me so emotional.
    The only downside is the sky islands, there are very little of them wich is a bit sad, but the depths make up for it. This is a must play for any gamer in the world. The graphics are on the top, it doesn't need 120fps and 4k, the building is fun and the depths and sky are beautiful, you could be exploring this world for hours even if you already done it in botw, there are so many new things to do in this familiar yet new hyrule.    … Expand

    TOTK is BOTW version 100.0. Game is far beyond my own lofty expectations! Metacritic rating is currently at 96 and I dnt think that's high enough.

    The game is amazing in almost every regard, as someone who has played almost every game in this legendary series. The world has a greater amount of depth than any previous Zelda game, it's almost impossible to do everything and the story is delightfully engaging. So yeah buy it.

    I'll list my gripes with the game before continuing. Due to the open-ended nature of the game, some puzzles and aspects such as combat can feel almost challengless because any wacky or stupid solution you come up with will generally work; of course, this is also one of, if not the best aspect of the game but sometimes you might wish the puzzles were a bit "tighter". Also, and if you've played the game you know what I mean, they did NOT change the four main quests to account for how many of them the player has done (you can do them in any order) which leads to the cool yet almost identical cutscenes that play in every region's quest to become comically repetitive. Lastly there's too many blessing shrines that require no effort to get.

    Okay now for good stuff :) 1. Ultrahand literally let's you do anything, in a game that would be perfectly fine without it
    2. The temples are... Well half of them are excellent, 1 is awful and another is obviously the tutorial one so it gets a pass for its theming alone.
    3. Sky islands are a joy to explore for the first time, some of my best memories in games were in them!
    4. While it's frankly not too different to Breath of the Wild's, the world is such a joy to take in.
    5. The largest new area I won't say much about is super fun to explore for me
    6. And ultimately, it's a fantastic game that has minor flaws in certain segments yet nevertheless is an absolute must play best played at a slow and patient pace. PS: I haven't beaten the game yet I'm on the last of the temples    … Expand

    This was easily one of the best games of the last 5 years, I would say it's the greatest Zelda game ever created. Not only is the story pretty good, the gameplay is just out of this world. Nintendo took the best things of Breath of the wild, and made them 10 times better. It's an easy Game Of The Year and a 10/10 for me.

    I had been looking forward to this game since it was announced, and it did not let me down. Dungeons in this game have stepped up from botw with even just getting into them being immensely enjoyable. They are a lot more puzzle based than in botw which I like. A really great story especially if you get all of the memories (which are by the way incredible). The new abilities bring on whole new ways to solve puzzles and different options. Then there is the map. People are complaining that the map is the same as botw and want something different. While the overworld map is similar (and what do you expect from a direct sequel) there are many differences making each little place worth visiting. There is also the addition of the sky islands and the depths. The sky islands are brilliant to look around in. You are trying to get somewhere but then you see an interesting island and you have to go and investigate it. The depths are the same size as the over world map with so many things to do like boss battles from dungeons or completely new bosses found nowhere else. The idea of exploring a huge area where you do not know anything about it and steadily lighting it up bit by bit appeals very much to me and I would say at least 30% of my play through so far has been spent in the depths.… Expand

    Forget about all those Fortnite cravers who actually think BOTW and TOTK copied Fortnite even though BOTW came first. Breath of the Wild is definitely an 8, and Tears of the Kingdom improved so much from BOTW which is why I’m giving it a 9. The whole sky, the land, and the underground are huge and it’s truly amazing how the switch that runs like a toaster can actually run this game. Or does it deserve a lower rating because every criticism of BotW hasn't been addressed at all? (Weapons break, rain interrupts climbing, and ridiculous/nonexistent rewards for exploring)

    It's an amazing game, it's got a huge open world, story, gameplay, it's so huge and there's always one more place to explore, you can get so lost in the world and it all feels so alive.

    At first I wondered if this game would feel too much like BotW. Thankfully I was proven wrong. Not only is this game a total upgrade in every way, it also feels completely separate as a game. The exploration feels more satisfying, less empty space as well as more places to explore. I'm impressed the switch pulled off such a feat. NPCs also feel more significant.

It not only takes what was great about BotW and builds upon it, but it adds entirely new mechanics that just deepen the engrossment one feels while playing. I pushed myself to finish the main story in time for BG3 to come out, which my son was sad about because he really enjoyedTears of the Kingdom is the definitive follow up to Breath of the Wild that I had been waiting a long time for.     Pero esto no impide que disfrutes de una experiencia de juego optima, es increíble la cantidad de cosas que hay que hacer y obtener por todo hyrule, asi que...     The best sequel that could be done . Better overall than its predecessor. a big change compared to "Breath of the wild" is the much bigger map and with many more side quests, and then the story is the coolest thing about this game. If you have a switch you can't not have it

    300 hours and counting. Can’t stop playing this game. Cool story, more info about everything. Really like the music, the perfect companion for long sessions. The character design it’s exquisite. I really hope we get a dlc.

    This is by far one of the greatest games I have ever played in my life. This was the first game I went too for a midnight release and was enthralled by not only the amazing gameplay but the heartbreaking and repairing story.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After finishing the game, the only thing that I could think of was how great this game was. From beginning to end the game was phenomenal. The map is the same as that of Breath of the Wild, but the changes to the surface and the addition of the depths and sky islands make the map feel entirely new. What stood out to me the most were the bosses and dungeons. The quests surrounding the dungeons and the build up to them were probably some of the best parts of the game for me, with the bosses being just the icing on the cake. The mystery and puzzles for the 5th dungeon were also great. And after you finish every major quest and make your way to the final boss, the presentation and the fight itself make the build up to it worth it. The final phase is the coolest concept for a video game boss that I have ever seen.

    This game is worth every dollar, and offers so much content. It is a definite must play.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think this game is a master piece and has amazing graphics with an enormous map it also comes with a beautiful landscape and features a whole underground area called the depths along with a sky area and a natural ground landscape.
    personally this was a game of beauty and detail to me and I loved every second of it.

    The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
