Aug 18, 2020Much better than Colour Splash and Sticker Star. I prefer Super Paper Mario but Origami king is up there along with it.

Aug 23, 2020I had very low expectation going into origami King and honestly it surprised me. I think it's a really good adventure game, It has really cool boss fights amazing characters and really funny dialogue. I think it's much better than sticker star and a step in the right direction from colour splash. it's no TTYD but it's better than i thought it was gonna be

Oct 10, 2020Quite a good story for Mario and his friend Olivia.
The battle system is ok, but sometimes annoying. -
Apr 9, 2022This game is great. It's visuals are honestly up their with botw and Luigi's Mansion 3 for best on Switch. The soundtrack is great as usually and the dialogue is top notch.
Most feel different, but I actually loved the battle system. Lining up the enemies is really fun.
Great game would recommend, I was smiling my entire playthrough. -
Nov 10, 2020This game has a good soundtrack, a good level design and it's beautiful. But the fight system is not nice. After few hour of game you want avoid each fight... it's too bad because apart from this point it's a good game.

Jun 27, 2023Paper Mario is fun, because unlike Mario Odyssey, the story is humorously designed with allusions. There are a few mini-games that are entertaining, but not a must. The game can be played through 100% with skill without having to grind. The battle system takes some getting used to, (I haven't mastered it yet), but the attempt to create something new. One of the best Games for the Nintendo Switch.

Aug 15, 2021While the game clearly doesn't follow the traditional series's formula, Paper Mario: The Origami King is still great on its own. The writing is excellent, the humor is enjoyable, and the gameplay can sometimes really put your strategic brain under pressure.

Apr 14, 2022I give this game a high rating because I simply like paper Mario games. Not everyone does, but I have always enjoyed them. I still hope that one day the series returns to the creativity from the Thousand Year Door.

Ninty Fresh MagazineDec 21, 2020The Origami King is a game greater than the sum of its parts. It reaffirms Nintendo’s status as king of innovation, even if the folds don’t quite align. [Issue #2, p.66]

Dec 16, 2020Paper Mario: The Origami King arrives on Nintendo Switch with very high quality graphics, a pleasant soundtrack and a plot full of very good humor, typical of the Paper Mario series. Among countless places to visit, bosses to win, and puzzles to solve, the game can be considered one of the best in the franchise.

Oct 29, 2020Paper Mario deserves better. The prestige of a Final Fantasy veteran appropriating his magic onto a handicraft world deserves better. The unforgettable wit and lovable cast expanding Mario lore deserves better. And we know that Intelligent Systems can do better than committing themselves to a misguided identity crisis.
