No badges, no exp, no unique characters or playable sidekicks, lame "puzzle" battles. +1 point for beautiful artwork and +1 for a beautiful soundtrack. Please let someone else design the battle system and quests. Perhaps team up with square enix again?

Battles are repetitive, the whole thing is just a giant collect-a-thon and the only way I can describe it is: “incredibly shallow”. It dumbs down everything great about the series and I’m really just deeply saddened by the cheapening of one of my favorite works of art ever made. Expand

    -Shallow undifferentiated characters

-Stationary Bosses (like tape, and pencils, seriously)
-Stupidly easy puzzles. Locked door? Walk to corner, pick of key, open door. Done.
-Boring pointless battles that nearly ruin the game, you will avoid them.
-Hidden items are always useless trophies (who cares?).
-Same old paper gimmick no one asked for again.
-Confetti gimmick is pointless, adds nothing.
-Story was OK, but not enough to make up for all the other issues.

Conclusion, this is a game for the 5-10 y/o crowd. It's a tone-deaf group-think husk of its former self, and Nintendo doesn't care what you think. My expectations are not unrealistic, I know Nintendo can do better, they simply refuse to listen. Perhaps if we all shout "DOOPLISS" loud enough the authentic Paper Mario be revealed.

Nintendo's quality continues to decline. Contrasting this game with a thousand year door really shows that. This game was mind numbingly boring, nonsensical and easy.

I can deal with the removed RPG elements and maybe even some repetitive combat. Unfortunately, not only are combat and puzzle-solving exceedingly easy and boring, they are also disproportionately time-consuming and unrewarding.

Sadly, this is a game best reserved for little children and their appreciation for the pretty colors.

That's it. Half of the Paper Mario series is made of gems. The other is what I like to call the Sticker Star trilogy. They kKIMD OF brougjt back partners but they only follow you for a limited time and have generic names such as Bob-Omb (RIP Bombette and Admiral Bobbery). You cannot control tjem in battle either. They attack but often fail without any player input. Ok so the writing's good but what about the gameplau? Battles are unnecessary. They are gimicky beyond belief. You have to line up enemies in a row before attacking. It goes front brain damaged stupid easy to nearly impossoble to figure out on a timer before you know it. Most people I know, myself included, just skip as many of them as possible. You don't get any EXP from defeating enemies so there's really no point to bother. Like you partners, every NPC is generic. Most of them are Toads and Shy Guys with some other of Bowser's minions thrown into the mix. There is absolutely no originality whatsoever like Paper Mario, The Thousand-Year Door and Super Paper Mario had in their character design. The only original characters are Olly (the main villain, at least it's not Bowser this time) and his sister and Mario's partner, Olivia. Olivia is by far the best part of the game. She herself has more charm than the rest of the "Sticker Star" trilogy combined. All in all, the game is a treat for the eyes and a good read (yeah, no voice acting, like we're still in 1999) but certainly not a fun game to play. I highly recommend wathing a let's play on YouTube rather than playing it. Unlike the 1st 3 games in the series, nothing compels me to try to complete the game as much as possible or even replay it. The combat is so boring, repetitive and unrewarding to the point you'll actively avoid "encounters" if you want to call them that, the boss battles are unnecessarily complex and make a stupid battle system even more dreadful than its random "encounters". Although I could eventually solve them myself, I had to help numerous people in my household who couldn't despite the game being aimed at said kids and it only shows Nintendo's core audience can't even solve them. The stories for the recent entries come across as being basic since Miyamoto's stance that the Paper Mario franchise doesn't need a story and is nothing more than a forgetful adventure fueled with jokes you're not going to remember. You're progressing through an empty world for literally no reason and they're only adding a story wherever it's necessary, though a lack of one actively leaves you not only wanting more - but feeling a desire to replay older Paper Mario titles if you've had the joy of doing so.

I also dislike the characters, especially Olivia who is annoying, comes off as empty headed and unfunny to the point where you just want her to shut up and quit pointing out the obvious, which you can tell is to give Nintendo's child audience a sense of direction since this games so bad at explaining how to get from point A to B. For an origami character, she's rather flat when it comes to writing. None of the other characters stand out to me either, they're as bland as their designs. The only good thing about this is the music and the stage design (albeit each world being small and lacking exploration), however that's not enough to keep me going through a mundane game

This only made me appreciate Super Paper Mario's combat and I had issues with that. I really dislike this game and the recent direction of Paper Mario. Mario & Luigi shouldn't have died for this

    first the good
    -graphics are always great
    -gameplay feels smooth
-lots of new characters and story to indulge yourself into until the next big nintendo game releases
-new mechanics that bring a fresh style into the new series especially compared to sticker+color

now the bad...which is a lot
-confetti is just as bad as paint. please stop doing this
-story is very lackluster and doesnt pull you in like past games do.
-you dont remember the characters. for majority of the game since i barely heard olivias name i thought her name was candice

-the new fighting system still sucks and i hate it with a passion. after you get used to it you still learn to hate it with new stuff they bring in mid/end way into the game
-theirs no replayability. this is a game you'll play once and probably never want to touch again

-literally you cant replay it. you'll find out why when you get it lol.
-no actual rpg elements here with no xp so you dont have an incentive to actually fight. i was going out of my way to dodge every single little fight i could.
-bosses are horrible and so are mini bosses

    OVERALL
personal score 4/10 i put it in the same category with sticker and color. this is nothing of a throwback to the good old games.

The Paper Mario series as a whole feels like it is developed by people who either do not understand or care about fan feedback. No, I’m not one of those people who want it to be like the original “Mario Story” games. It is okay to deviate and attempt to innovate from what you did before.

That being said, it feels like each new game in the series is the same bland, generic, linear game

That being said, it feels like each new game in the series is the same bland, generic, linear game we’ve seems since Sticker Star. There’s no heart or “Mario” vibe given, it could just as easily be a generic puzzle game with a Mario skin plastered on it. Characters aren’t unique, and there was not one character or even that was memorable.

I hope Nintendo can finally attempt to do something acceptable in the next release, and why they can’t just do what worked before. Strange how they release nearly identical 2D “New” Mario games yet the Paper Mario Series always attempts something new that falls on its face every time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm having a lot of trouble reviewing this game. I feel there are external and internal circumstances that seriously hinder my thoughts here.

On one hand, yes, I do desperately want a game similar to Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I say this even though my most favourite Paper Mario game was Super Paper Mario; I just know a game like that can't really do so great anymore. Super Paper Mario was a daring risk that went right, but it shouldn't be risked again, unless you REALLY want to be bold, and maybe a bit stupid.

On the other hand, I've heard the interviews, I've seen the dialogue, and honestly, given the hindsight, I can't help but feel like there are some genuine cries for help throughout this game. The Bob-omb, "Bobby" as Olivia calls him, is an example. Olivia keeps trying to name him, but he adamantly refuses to be named; this, as well as a nod to Admiral Bobbery, among other references to their own past, tells me they really do want to make uniquely designed enemies/allies, but something's stopping them.

That being said, it's also very blatantly clear that this game could've been infinitely better. Take a look at Super Paper Mario. Everything in that game is unique, yet follows Nintendo's restrictions. There's scarcely a redesigned Koopa, Goomba, or Shy Guy in there, if at all. It's all unique characters/enemies that fall directly into the line of what's allowed still.

My thoughts on this game are that, with a bit of thinking outside of the box, it could've been infinitely more. Olivia and Olly's characters could've been deep. Olly's entire motive for genocide is as stupid as "My creator scribbled on me! For this, I must K I L L" and it turns out what he WROTE, not scribbled, was a heartfelt message. This could've been much more, and just felt incredibly lazy. Characters like Khap'taan Teeowed/Captain T. Ode, who felt super unique, were dumbed down so severely that you end up feeling averse to them by the end.

Everything in this game is a big "What could've been". That being said, it nailed lots of things on the head. The music and sound design is amazing. The level design is pretty great. The art style is superb, and visually, this game is a wonder; but none of these things feel so great because of how dull this game is. The soundtrack of this game is a soundtrack you'd find yourself humming, but thanks to how little of an impact the game actually left, the soundtrack, too, suffers. The visual design would've made unique characters so much more memorable, yet all I can remember is Olivia, Olly, and Captain T. Ode's fancy clothes, and that only a little; really, all I can remember is that it was black and red... I think.

The combat is an atrocity. If I were given the opportunity to lick wet paint for a "Skip Battle" button, I would do it in a heartbeat. It's fun for the first chapter AT MOST. Boss battles are also somewhat interesting, yet they, too, stop being that way after the second one.

I really hate that I spent 100$ for this game. If I knew this is what I would get, I wouldn't have bought it at all.

Why I'm so torn is because it's so clear it could've been better. From character motives, to combat systems, to, well, characters in general; they're all so visibly lacklustre, yet so clearly oozing with room for improvement, that it hurt to play the game. I played it and I saw what could've been, and I can't help but feel like there's just a reason behind it. Given the studio's complaints regarding the fact that they're not able to really be as creative as they wish, I can somewhat understand, but as I mentioned before, even with the restrictions on creativity that they're effected with, a game like Super Paper Mario could exist if made now. There's just not enough of an excuse, especially when The Origami King itself is full of potential for interesting characters, and, hell, even has characters like Olivia and Olly, which fall outside of this rule.

If the last two games weren't as bad as they were, I'd probably be much more lenient on the rating for this game, as I'd be thinking it's a one-off mistake in game creation. Would it be a big mistake? Yes, sure, but let's not stress over hypotheticals. The issue here is that there's not much good faith, so I find it hard to believe that the characters, or at the very least, the story, couldn't have been more interesting.

I mean... really? "He scribbled all over me, so I must commit genocide, without even thinking for a split second that, maybe, just maybe, the person who brought me to life didn't do so with bad intentions". That's the plot. What's the lesson here? Think first, act later? Mario games don't all have to be as mindless as "Your princess is in another castle". This is on that calibre, and I don't understand why. Not to say those games are bad, but it's more that they shouldn't even be compared. Making a story game story-less is like making a Mario game without jumping.

My rating of 4 is genuine.

Normal battles will become chores, and to be honest, I stopped playing midway through world 5/6 because I just found the battles soooooooooo tedious.

Bosses where also rather disappointing. All of them other than a few mache bosses are things (scissors, tape, rubber band, etc.) which is dull in of itself, but then there is the fact that there isn't much strategy to them. You just run around the ring, and depending on the boss use different ways to get to the middle.

The mache battles are more interesting, fighting giant paper mache pokeys or bloopers, however these are rare occurrences...

Overall, if you really like puzzles, this might be for you, but if you are looking for the classic RPG that the first three Paper Marios are, this is definitely not the game for you..

What the game did right is exactly what we expect of a AAA Mario game, bright colorful world, fun uplifting music, generic characters (recolored toads in silly hats), and loads of collectibles. But we really shouldn't be praising Nintendo for what they have been doing since the WII. Intelligent systems did make a change to the Paper Mario formula but unfortunately they spoiled it. But we really shouldn't be praising Nintendo for what they have been doing since the WII. Intelligent systems did make a change to the Paper Mario formula but unfortunately they spoiled it. They screwed up the combat system, like all the other negative reviews. They went with a weird ring puzzle design where you attempt to line up the enemies in rows and 2x2 squares. The ring is big with lots of open spaces but they limit the amount of moves you can make per-turn allowing you to only solve most puzzles one way (like a jig-saw puzzle). They added sub weapons that you can use like fire flowers and tanuki suit tail spin but they attack in the same formation as your jump or hammer making them not very useful items. Combat partners are a joke this time around being very useless almost laughable. And to top it all off you get nothing other than coins for the 2-5mins you could be spending every encounter, no exp to make you stronger, no unique items to grind for, just wasted time and more coins for your already overflowing coin pouch.
Overall this game is like a house with a nice façade but the inside is a mess.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Paper Mario: The Origami King is a big letdown. I was expecting to revisit old nostalgia by purchasing another Paper Mario game, but I was wrong.
On the positive side, the music is wonderful and the scenery is amazing. The graphics are awesome and it is a generally good looking game. Although it was shame Nintendo wasted it.
The battle system is confusing and doesn’t really add anything to the game, especially because you don’t gain rewards from battling. It’s just a hassle.
Secondly, the characters are painfully unfunny and annoying. The whole game you have this “helper” named Olivia and she constantly talks and none of the dialogue is intriguing in any way. I tried so many times to skip what she was saying because it added nothing and wouldn’t let you progress.
The story is pretty boring. You walk around and fight a few guys and whatnot. It’s not very outstanding or special like I had hoped.
Really, I wouldn’t be too upset about my purchase of this game if it wasn’t $60. It would be a fine $20 game you can get to pass the time, but $60?! I wish I could’ve bought something better instead.

-They made combat an extremely tedious and valueless affair. Like, you don't need gold, you always have an infinite supply from just being alive. -Therefore combat does not reward you in anyway, save to degrade your weapons and cost you

So the game, which should make combat the most fun and core element, becomes an arduous slog to avoid combat as much as possible. Each combat becomes a punishment to you and your time.
Like, honestly, it is similar to freemium mobile games that have built-in ads. The feeling is not "hooray! fight time!" and it's more, "do I have to? I've done 2 already".

tl;dr The 25 year old snes mario rpg game is OBJECTIVELY a better game. Please don't buy this.

¡Me encanta! Totalmente satisfecho.

Mixing up the action adventure game with turn-based combat (which is pointless by the way and without any strategy or deeper logic, but also without any reward for participating in it simply unnecessary) was completely unsuccessful - I personally think that Color Splash had much better combat system.
It is a pity that the developers did not decide to either make a full action game or restore the combat system with TYD.
In my opinion, the game deserves 6/10, but due to the lack of a sober assessment of reality by the people who give this game 10/10 I give it 0/10 to keep the balance

Again Nintendo knows how the game should look and feel. Its pretty and I love what they've done.

BUT this game annoys me to its core. For some reason Nintendo thinks the players are brain dead and need hand holding for each and every step. Every new mechanic in this game apparently needs 3 5 times explaning how it works. Olivia is a great designed character, she delivers the "tutorial" aspect of the game and so, sadly all my anger gets directed at her direction because she repeats her self very over and over again on how something works.
This game is very: "Omg, just let me play please!"
Dialog is also not worth reading, since the story is very basic, dialogs are dad joke after dad joke and you have to read them because you can't skip the speach bubble like in other nintendo games.
The new battle system is quite alright idea, but also not worth getting excited for. Battles are quickly over and always the same pattern. Here are the enemies always in group of 4, please put them in a line or a square to jump on them or hit them with a hammer. Thats it. Always the same.
A boss battle breaks up the mondain mechanic und you need to solve how to get to the weak points. That is way more fun, since bosses change phase and you need to adapt. Nothing to difficult since you have the chance to get health by solving.
Haven't found a better weapon yet that doesn't break after use, which is alwas a great mechanic to put into games.
And not realy much to do in this game besides, going where olivia tells you to go, finding "collectibles" and finding toads. Which I kind of enjoy. It's funny how those little toads got folded up.

Origami King has almost to no RPG mechanic anymore, which is quite sad. So if you want to play an RPG Paper Mario like you know and love it, then you better stay away from it.

I heard from others if you like Sticker star you'll love this but if you like Thousand year door stay away from it. I wish I knew that sooner.

Bosses are sometimes tedious and having battle shortcuts just shows that even the devs acknowledge that they are not fun.
Graphics don't sell your game, This is the prettiest game on Switch and that's a shame since that's all this game has going for it.
Can the main partner have a mute button?
Pointing out pretty sights in your own game simply feels like the devs saying, "look at what we made! We sure did spend a lot of time making it!"

Having real life objects as bosses is not funny or clever, it's lazy.

Filling holes with confetti is the same thing as painting the white spots and it's a terrible idea. Nobody wants to run around hitting everything with a hammer just to be able to fill in the holes. Especially when the only reward for doing so is more coins. The battles are nothing more than tedious. Absolutely no point in doing them and you will find yourself avoiding them to the best of your abilities only to let out a sigh of disappointment when you actually do have to do them. The partners are awful and add absolutely zero value to the game. Olivia atleast had a little bit of creativity but her personality is terrible and all she ever does is repeat the things someone else already said, or say what just happened right in front of you. The main boss designs? Are some of the dumbest I've ever seen. When you use a box of colored pencils as a box, that is complete laziness in my opinion. The jokes are terrible and they never stop. Every chapter has insanely cringe song and dance. Exploration in this game is not rewarding in the slightest. You either find more coins when you always have 10k+ or you find a useless little statue thing that you will never go and look at again. This whole thing with rescuing Toads really needs to not be a thing anymore. There's like 100 Toads to find in every chapter. It really feels like that's all I'm doing is finding Toads and they don't even have any distinct differences. It's just always the same looking Toad. Literally hundreds of times.

The only redeeming qualities of this game is the world is beautiful. The art team really did go all in with that. Personally I think they went a little too far with the paper aspect of it, but I can't say the world doesn't look really nice. The music, not the cringe song and dance they keep trying to force us to laugh at, but each area's music, the battle music, etc, those are almost all really well done. The boss fights were kinda fun for the first half of the game, but the second half of the game feels more like "let's just hurry up and get this done".

I mark this game at a 2 because it IS better than SS or CS but it's still an awful game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Origami King (TOK) is more of a spiritual successor of Sticker Star and Color Splash than the first 3 games of this series (Paper Mario, TTYD, and Super Paper Mario). TOK however, does a slightly better job creating a combat system that was initially interesting, utilizing puzzle combat that can be summed up as line the enemies in a row or a square and jump on them or hit them with a hammer, respectively.

However, I quickly noticed my enjoyment of the game increasing after the first 2 levels were over. This increase was because the game introduced a movement mechanic that allows you to completely skip the combat by simply running over the enemies, defeating them immediately.

Nintendo is attempting to create a balance between the old games, and the new direction it has been dragging the Paper Mario series for years. However if you're going to make an adventure game, make one. Don't make a half-hearted combat system that doesn't even truly reward you with in game progression, via experience points to level up your character for example.

I would also note that Paper Mario originally was an art style utilized to maximize the performance of the original games on hardware that wouldn't have been able to handle anything else. Intelligent Systems was able to maximize the amount of game they could create doing this. However now instead of being an art style, they have decided that "paper" itself is the driving theme of this series. Maybe its just me, but going through an old dungeon only to end up fighting a literal paper hole puncher is slightly immersion breaking and doesn't even make sense in the Mario universe. And the constant paper references grows old fairly quickly, with jokes flopping more times than hitting.

That's not to say there weren't redeeming parts of the game, but I felt only half the game was actually good given only half the game was spent living in the Mario universe and in the other half the big baddy was art supplies.

Regardless, this game will not fill the void Nintendo has created in not making a Mario RPG since TTYD. And given that the game contradicts itself in giving you ways to completely avoid parts of the game (including another way other than I mentioned), I cannot give this game a neutral/good score.

The Paper Mario team continues to repeat the same mistakes they've been making since Sticker Star and ignoring fan feedback. I get that with Sticker Star, they wanted to try something new. But it didn't work. Then they did the same exact thing again in Color Splash, and it didn't work. Now they're doing the literal exact same thing again in Origami King, and guess what? IT STILL DOESN'T WORK. How about instead of repeating the same broken and unfun gameplay style that just does not work, how about instead use a new formula that actually does work, or just go back to the styles of one of the first three games? Bring back Star Points, bring back flowers and badges, bring back unique party members and NPCs, bring back jump and hammer upgrades, and bring back special moves. The only reason this game is even getting this type of score is because the music is really good.

PROS: - Good visuals - Great music - Good base for an actual good game CONS - An over complicated ring battle system that makes it annoying to do battles at all. - Battles don't give any XP, making them basically useless to do at all! - The only original designs is Olivia and Olly

    - The only original designs is Olivia and Olly
    - Partners are only temporary and not really part of the adventure
    - They still are leaning on that sticker star system, though not as heavily, items are temporary
    - The constant paper gimmicks thrown in your face is getting tiresome
    - The bosses literally are office supplies, who even approved this idea at all???
    - There is no RPG system, no partners that stay with you, they lost a lot of their originality.
    - NPCs lost a lot of their originality - Botw and Mario Odyssey have original characters, why can't Paper Mario???

Overall - A waste of money, only buy this game if its on sale for cheap or watch a youtuber gameplay it. Its not worth it. The writing is ok, but there is only so much paper gimmick jokes you can take. It makes me sad cause Mario RPG, Paper Mario 64, and The Thousand Year Door, had beautiful amazing original characters, great story, beautiful worlds that didn't focus on the Paper gimmick, a great soundtrack, meaningful battles that made the player feel stronger as you progressed since there is XP(and you had to manage your HP, FP, and Badge Points as you leveled up), Badges that gave you ways to customize that experience and great partners that shared the story/adventure with you. These are things which I feel is completely lost in the newer series. I urge others to play Mario RPG, Paper Mario 64 and The Thousand Year Door over this game because you'll get a better more fulfilling adventure then you would here.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The gameplay, while unique and promising in concept, falls short when lining up enemies becomes super easy and it provides enough power to end fights almost instantly, and then just become a drag when you don't do it, and you instead win by simply exhausting your resources, which actually encourages you to avoid as many fights as possible since you get nothing out of fighting that you wouldn't find all over the place in the overworld, whether that be confetti or coins. It's probably been beaten to death, but the fact remains that an RPG without an experience system more often than not simply gives no reason to want to do tedious battles. The idea they likely had to circumvent this simply ended up being to have many unavoidable fights throughout the game, which sort of works I suppose, but the monotony is not broken just because instead of fighting some origami goombas because you should, now you're fighting them because the game doesn't give you a choice.

Lastly, when it comes to gameplay, the partners are pretty much useless and only occasionally do anything in battles (with some of them sitting out certain areas entirely)

The plot is mostly what Sticker Star and Color Splash were in the end, without any particularly special differences between them. The villain takes a macguffin related to whatever paper gimmick is present in one of those three games, and Mario must team up with another floating partner who doesn't do much to help you outside of explaining the games' gimmicks, tossing some witty dialogue, and sacrificing themselves at the very end of the story as yet another cheap attempt at emotional writing that just becomes stale when they've done it for the third time now. Actually, make that 4th, because Bobby also sacrifices himself in an incredibly forced attempt at a sad death, the second in the game alone. It's become a trope for every Paper Mario game now since Sticker Star and it's played itself out to the point where it feels more like a joke than the sad moment they're intending to portray. The dialogue throughout the game otherwise is very much so like Color Splash, in that it's mostly witty and attempting to be humorous at any point wherever possible, and sometimes it works and others it just doesn't. In general I feel like the past two Paper Mario games have had a terrible time writing a tone into their plot because it's never not intending to be mostly comedic until the few moments where it tries to get sad.

Lastly, the character design is better than the previous two installments in the series, but still fall short of what fans have mostly been asking for. What makes it worse is that its gotten to a point where the games are beginning to make jokes about how all of a certain race look the same, whether it be Toads or Bob-Ombs. Miyamoto and Tanabe seem to be insistent that creating unique designs for pre-existing characters or races is something they just don't want to do for some reason, which I find baffling.

Overall, all of this leads up to a question of, "Did you like Sticker Star and Color Splash?" Because if you did, then you'll love this game, as it's pretty much the exact same outside of the slightly inventive fighting mechanics. If you thought any of the previous two games were just OK or flawed then I can't possibly recommend spending 60 dollars for the same experience for the third time.

We are the ones who helped you sell all those NES, SNES, Gameboys, N64s, and Wiis. We are the ones buying the games and consoles for our children, the next generation. So why take a beloved IP and alter it beyond all recognition? No turn based combat or badges, no partners in battle, no unique or interesting character models, overly simplistic story. They took the worst parts of Sticker Star and Color Splash and removed anything interesting. Any game where battles are a waste of resources to be avoided is no fun, especially when it is an RPG. Hated it.

The fights are unrewarding and blindingly tedious. I was avoiding engaging in battles altogether within about an hour of starting. And I sighed every time the next step was, "oh, hey, why don't you go fight that Koopa in the corner!?" Ugh, really? Can't we just say that I did that and you can give me whatever I need to move forward? Really dude. Here, have ten thousand coins.

And, although it is an open map, and although there are goals to reach in each stage -- which gives at least the impression that you will be able to go back and complete these tasks later on -- the game just ends very unceremoniously after the final boss battle. Here's some credits, now either go fight the final boss again or start over from the beginning... or play something else, I guess.... thanks for the sixty bucks, sucka!

It's VERY cute. Two points for beautiful art and a fun-ish storyline. That kept me engaged enough to actually finish the game. I just expected... I dunno...... more. I really enjoyed the open map format and exploring. That gave it a sort of Zelda-y explore-y feel that I really appreciated. But I was majorly disappointed that there was no post-game activity.

I definitely won't charge head first into the series ever again.

Paper Mario: The Origami King arrives on Nintendo Switch with very high quality graphics, a pleasant soundtrack and a plot full of very good humor, typical of the Paper Mario series. Paper Mario deserves better. The prestige of a Final Fantasy veteran appropriating his magic onto a handicraft world deserves better. The unforgettable wit and lovable cast expanding Mario lore deserves better. And we know that Intelligent Systems can do better than committing themselves to a misguided identity crisis.
