Graphics are amazing especially on OLED
    Artstyle and music is great
Gameplay (combat) is a mixed bag. On one hand, it's a simplified strategy game with its own charm and unique touch. On the other hand battles (especially in the second half of the game) get unnecessarily hard, have annoying enemies (with high RNG crits), or straight up boring (escort missions....). Gameplay (exploration)

Strategy is one of my favorite genres so I was excited when I first heard about the game. Turned out to be a slight turn off. It can be fun at times but it's too easy, short and souless. If the sequel improves the depth of the game by maintaining the natural and easygoing fun that comes with Mario and Rabbids games, it could be a good game.

The world, animations and characters are all incredibly charming. But the core gameplay does leave a lot to be desired.

I really enjoyed this game. I played 2p against my son and we did a big chunk of campaign together but then I never felt the urge to return to it. The fact it doesn't generate that excitement in me to want to return is the reason for the 7/10. I do kind of like Rabbids but not a big Mario fan. If you love Mario, Rabbids and SRPG's then there is no reason this won't be a 10/10 for you.

I don't keep many games, I always trade them in but this one remains firmly in the collection. And I trade a lot of games.

I try this game when Nintendo make it available on Nintendo Online for free. I reached the first two levels, and I found pretty fun. As an strategic game is not a difficult game, but it challenging enough to go through

An unexpected treat. Fun game but it does feel like a substantially watered down version of XCOM. While it’s not an easy game, it’s also not a very complex game, despite it giving the illusion. I think the issue with the game is the fatigue associated with the length of the game, you unlock more characters will do have unique traits, you unlock more weapons which match the enemy levels, but the strategy largely remains the same from start to finish. No leveling up, no experience, no skill trees that actually add complexity, it just feels like you’re doing the same thing against new enemy types. I also did not like the long orientation phase of the game, the first 25% felt to be so easy that it was almost getting boring. With those complaints aside, it’s actually a fun and pretty challenging game once you get far enough. It has a lot of personality and character. A crossover that nobody asked for, but I will definitely pick up the sequel on release to give them an opportunity it’s to build on it. Expand

I wish I could give this game a better review score. This game is awesome, with great visuals, storytelling, cutscenes and turn based gameplay. The details they added in the world are great too, a love letter to the Mario franchise, very well made in this regard. BUT the game keeps crashing, and it has a lot, A LOT of bugs. When this game was first announced I certainly wasn’t expecting a tactical turn based game in the vein of X-Com, but that’s exactly what this is, and you know what? It’s pretty good! Of course, it’s not as complex as either of 2K games excellent titles but the variety of unlockable actions, and the way in which they can be combined, along with a good variety of enemies to fight ensures the gameplay is still suitably deep and entertaining.

Perfect for anyone that wants to dip their toes into the world of tactical RPGs!

The strategy battle game is really good, 8.5/10. My only issues with that are the lack of complete camera control and the tedious bosses that involve silly stages of processes and them getting all their life back instead of making an interesting fight with a smart powerful enemy. But I'm giving it a 6/10 because of the awful 3D map and puzzle they added on top of an excellent game. It all looks nice, but it's tedious and pointless and is only there to make the campaign take longer. I haaaaaaaaaaate every second of that stuff. I would love to smack whoever made the decision to do that, one full power stink palm slap to the face for ruining the hard work of all those people with a bad direction choice.

The people that gave this a 10/10 shouldn't take part in this website because they aren't critical thinkers and must give 10/10 to everything because it has huge flaws. Maybe play the game for a while before writing a review.

Don;'t treat this game like your average Mario platformer or even the RPG spin-off. This game will kick you in the balls time and time again, and is defiantly not for younger players or even adults. However, the game was obviously meant for children as there is a ton of bathroom humor, rude jokes, and the abundance of the proto-minions known as the Rabbids, annoying rabbits who are infuriating both to watch and ESPECIALLY to listen too. However, the Rabbid's insanity factor has been heavily toned down from the previous rabbids game, Rabbid Party U and it's tie-in TV show Rabbids Invasion. Overall, I'll are this a crazy frog X-Com mod skin. It's annoying , obnoxious, and is irrelevant and a dead meme paired with a nearly impossible game for only the most hardcore of strategy fans. Overall, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle brings a welcome shot of vitality to the turn-based strategy genre thanks to interesting team mechanics and a colorful Nintendo theme that sets it apart from its contemporaries. Taking one of the biggest IPs in the world and marrying it to an all new type of gameplay was a huge risk that paid off wonderfully, and I’m glad that it finally found its way to my Switch. Now, bring me a sequel with a couple of needed improvements and 100% fewer rabbids, and we’re in business…

Mario + Rabbids is an incredibly welcome surprise. I assumed that a game starring Rabbids would become grating long before completion, but my fears turned out to be unsubstantiated. Beep-0 is a great lead character, and the Rabbids' hijinks are dialed back to a level that works. This is a fun take on a tactical RPG; the simplification of hit percentages worked especially well. The game isn't without fault — greater variety in characters and levels along with more meaningful customization would be welcome — but most of the issues are minor in comparison to how much fun the game is to play. Hopefully Mario + Rabbids marks the beginning of a new series and a sequel will take these ideas further.

Ubisoft acquired Nintendo’s license, added some Rabbids in the mix and entrusted the game to its Italian studio that never developed any large game on its own. What’s more, neither the studio nor both IPs had anything to do with tactical games. I still don’t understand how Kingdom Battle turned out so good. [11/2017, p.46]
