Nice game, but very short. Like this reviews... To end Kamiko you need an 1-2 hours of play.
I hope this game will be extended in the future. One of the best indie game i ever played

This game is not bad. The puzzles are nice and is a throwback to old fashioned Zelda-style game-play. There are three characters with different play-styles but with only four levels- I found the enjoyment running out quickly. I completed it with the sword girl and only tried out the other two characters. I will go back and finish it with those two one day but it is just not my cup of tea. This game is not bad. That being said, I would recommend you buy it if you enjoy this style of game ( it looks excellent by the way) as there is plenty potential for speed-running and plenty of fun to be had for a very low price.

The combat system is simple but serviceable, with hack and slash mechanics that give a sense of kinetic energy seen in few games. There are 3 different characters to choose from, each with different combat styles. This gives some extra value to the short run time on this game (a few hours) and even includes a speed run timer to add even greater replayability. This short session, speed running approach fits right at home on the Switch as it is a great system daily commuters. The price is only $4.99 in the US, so this eShop exclusive is worth checking out. My first playthrough took me 1 hour and 35 minutes, and I was taking my time. There are three characters, leaving a novel experience of about five hours, tops.

The replay value would be in speedrunning, if you're into that. If you're not, maybe you come back a few months later and play again. Up to you.

Overall: A beautiful game that ended too soon.

Gameplay is fun though can get a bit repetitive after a while, but controls are tight, level design is good, bosses are well designed... It checks off all the boxes. Just know that it's not a challenging game at all, this is one of those games you play when you come home from a long tiresome day and just want to chill out with something casual.

There's honestly not that much else to say about it, it's just a fun relaxing indie game. If you have a Switch, I'd say go for it, it's worth the 5 bucks.

Its not a total waste of money because it seemed interesting as an action rpg if it actually was an action rpg, its really just an action hack n slash puzzler imo. And it isn't bad at that, nice music, art is ok, could have been a good action rpg, but it simply is not.

Imagine 2D Zelda with the polish of Shovel Knight, and you get a fun, magical game that is totally worth $5. Heck, I spent 1 hour on first level alone (which had a clever boss, might I add!)

Dont list to the person below who said it's not worth $5. I think it's worth $10, and, I hope the expand and offer us more great levels. If they do, Im buying!

"Kamiko" is a short, cheap indie-title which is not very special, but keeps you engages for at least two or three hours.

The main focus of this game is on game-play, which is fast and simple. It could be more difficult and vary more, but it is okay for what it is. The 8-bit-graphics also look neat, especially on the go.

Anyone who likes indie titles, or games that can be finished in one sitting, and is missing something to play on a certain day, are the types of people I envision playing and really enjoying this game. Remember though, this is a mobile game port, so don't get too hyped on it, as the length leaves something to be desired and gameplay does get repetitive when just running around trying to solve the puzzles. This game took 1 hour to complete. However, in that hour, I was more driven, challenged, and enraptured by Kamiko then I recall being in any other $4.99 experience. The replay value is crushingly low, but the 'play value', if you will, is at a record high. Kamiko rewards the player for learning, solving problems, and ignoring the most boring story in video game history.

Great game practically made for speedrunning. I've beaten it 4 times (once with each character and again for fun) and enjoyed it very much. For only $4.99 it is a steal for speedrunners and fans of classic Zelda-esque games. Made me a bit sad to see it just 1 point under positive review feedback. I hope it sells well enough to see a sequel down the road.

Nevertheless, having taken a few hours to play through the game, I have to say that you should go back and beat Kamiko! Though it may be repetitive, I think that its combat and basic puzzles are perfect for someone who wants to play something short and beat a game in one sitting. The price of the game reflects its play time, however, just because it is cheap doesn’t mean Flyhigh Works skipped on the quality of their title. The art and world looks wonderful, the music is great and the game is fun.

This game is short and sweet. It's just four levels peppered with enemies and simple puzzles, with one boss at the end of each level, and one final boss. Then you can replay through with another character–there are three, and they all play very different. The game encourages you to speedrun it, which is a clever way to turn shortness into an advantage.

It's perfect for the Switch, it's cute as hell, and it doesn't promise anything it can't deliver. Oh, and it's cheap. No wonder it's one of the highest selling games on the eShop. Great impulse buy.

The three characters play differently, but not differently enough to make the 4 levels feel different. The enemies don't have much variety, some puzzles have annyoing solutions (like a block hidden behind a tree). The bosses are alright, probably one of the more interesting parts of the game.

The game is pretty short, my first playthrough took about 50 minutes, but the second and third took about 30 and 20 minutes respectively. All in all, the game is pretty forgettable, and even though it's inexpensive, I can't recommend it unless you're really into speed-running, which is where this game can probably do well.

Kamiko is an accessible and well-designed experience that will put its players frantically trying new tactics in order to finish the game as quickly as possible. This might not sound very groundbreaking but Kamiko certainly provides incentives to its players to try to complete it in a shorter time and its challenging nature means that those who pick it up will have something they can spend some fun hours with.
