    Just a Counter Balance for the **** negativ reviews from People who dont own the Game. This Game is really good. Its like most of Plartinum games games but with the addition of the Legions the Combat feels fresh and familiar at the same time.

    Amazing game, Platinum has done it again. Graphics, Music and gameplay are all great. Once you unlock more gameplay mechanics and get the hang of them combat becomes very satisfying. Would highly recommend to all action game fans.

    Great visuals, solid combat and a mix of genres make this another win for platinum games.

    Reserve your judgements till after File 03 as everything really opens up then. Was not expecting handheld mode to run as great as it does and beautiful to boot.

    Dont console hate, actually play the game, you will not regret it.

    I LOVE this game. In the firts minut I play blow my brain. The music its increíble, I can belive dont need extra download becouse the graphics are amazing. This game for me its the best game nintendo had in switch. Dont think and play now, you dont regret I promesse.

    This game is definitely not perfect, but it is very very good. It is not 100% polished and my not live up to the hype, but if you have realistic expectations going in you will have some fun for sure.

    Platinum and Nintendo once again outdo themselves with Astral Chain, after the succes of Bayonetta 2. Perfect pacing and mix of gameplay make this game worth your time and money. Breathtaking visuals , outstanding audio, and no damn loot boxes! Do not miss it and play it as soon as possible!

    The game is literally Amazing. I love it. Another great Game that Platnium has put out. Just like Bayonetta. To all the losers review bombing just cause its a Switch Exclusive your pathetic trash. Stay mad.
    The Switch is a great Console so if you dont have it yet it's your own fault.

    It probably won’t stay on switch, chill. The review bombing is really stupid. If you’re reading this and actually care about whether the game is good, be aware that it’s been review bombed for exclusivity reasons, and there are many great independent reviewers on YouTube that have covered this game.

    Normally i'd be the first to moan about 30 fps in action games (I literally couldnt play Bloodborne without the motion plus setting on my tv) That being said this game just works for me. It feels really smooth to actually(!) play and doesnt hurt my eyes even after several hours. I also    (Disclaimer: English isnt my mother tongue, i'm doing my best to express my thoughts tough.)

    I also really dont get people complaining about bad graphics and cell shading either.
    First off all: This game is running on tablet hardware, which also needs to run portable without draining the complete battery in 15 minutes.
    Some concessions have to be made, and everyone owning a Switch knows this. Its also not like every cell shaded art style looks the same.
    This one imo is surely on the cooler side, with some a lot off cool inbetween steps on rounded surfaces, cool particle effects and such. All of this also really helps selling this unique style of cyberpunk to me. And maybe, just maybe, these sly "issues" with fidelity even help with that, as everything about this aesthetic is digital glitches and pixelation.

    As for the soundtrack: It's simply amazing. It's just the right kind of music to go with every moment and set piece. Especially the combat themes are superb to me.
    It's all a cool blend between what i would call scifi-electro stuff, and cool metal guitar riffs.
    I own the collectors edition with the soundtrack, and i'm really looking forward to having many of these tracks come into play later in the game.

    Now to the gameplay side. I'm about 4 hours in and the game really starts to open up in the gameplay variety department. You get introduced to new legions (kinda the main "weapons" in this game), customization and updgrade options, new combos and new ways to use the chain mechanic in a really good pace. I also really appreciate how the game manages to coherently splice many mechanics from other games into it. The game really feels like a "platinum games best of" in that regard. And all of this doesnt feel shoehorned to me.

    At last i want to talk about the "weeby" characters and story. This game is an unapologetic loveletter to classic anime, and i love the game for it.
    Do many character stereotypes look familiar and one dimensional? Yes. Are the dialoges often corny as hell? Yes. Does the story feel like every shonen anime ever smashed together? Yes.
    Yet i enjoy every second of it. It's still just so entertaining to experience and have fun with. You'll never know what crazy Thing happens next. Nothing more to say really. (as i wouldnt want to spoil stuff)

    To summarize: I really, really like this 30fps, cellshaded, lofi, piece of badass anime-cyberpunk trash for all that it is. And i'm really looking forward to playing much more of it.    … Expand

    It is a great game with good graphics and fluid gameplay.
    Filled with action and great side missions that trigger the completionist in me.     Annoying combat features (slowing down), ugly graphics/character design looking pixelated, bland characters and predictable typical anime story. Just returned the game half-way in. Not everyone who gave this game a low rating was because it's an exclusive tbh. Just personally unenjoyable.

    This game by platinum studio is something else, the visuals are stunning and the gameplay style suits the occasion. The combination of the legions and your character are brilliant. You get lost in the world of astral chain with endless combination of combos, boss fights and a decent storyline to keep things fresh. Looking for a means to pick a switch?     Absoluta sorpresa lo de este juego, y en donde más importa y donde mejor lo hace en su jugabilidad, totalmente fresca y original. Suma eso su cuidada ambientación futurista, muy en la línea de Ghost in the Shell y otros clásicos del anime, más una banda sonora espectacular y da como resultado una de las mejores exclusivas de switch. Lo de los haters y sus 0 no tiene nombre. RECOMENDADISIMO

    Awesome gameplay once you get your head around controlling the legion. Love the art style and music. Solid story. Seems like people are still upset this is a switch exclusive with the review bombing.

    I only had a PS4, but I got so bored of my PS4. Every day, I wished that my PS4 turned into a Nintendo Switch. Today, I traded in my PS4 at gamestop for a Switch. I also got Astral Chain! One of the many games that the PS4 can't play.

    Astral chain is a refreshing new IP made by platinum games. I think it’s a very awesome game when it comes to its concept and it’s story. But I felt like the story was a little predictable but overall it makes for a unique and interesting concept. This is another must have!

    si tomamos cada apartado técnico quedaría mas o menos asi:
    Música: Envolvente, te mete de lleno en cada lugar que vas y con un ritmo esplendido! Gráficos: Muy bien logrados, no son la maravilla mas grande que jamas nunca se vio, pero están al nivel de la consola HIBRIDA! siendo así en su modo portátil    Este juego es la mezcla perfecta de Xenoblade Chronicles 2 + Bayonetta = Astral Chain!

    Historia: Es atrapante, dinámica y muy bien llevada con todo los puntos anteriores, al punto que es adictivo y con esa sensación de querer seguir jugando!

    En fin es un juego redondo, muy bien conseguido por parte de Platinium Games y Nintendo (no olvidemos que ambos colaboraron entre si para traer esta joyita a la híbrida)    … Expand

I've spent over 18 hours playing so far and the game runs smooth as butter, no slowdowns whatsoever no matter how hectic the battle. The only "slowdowns" you experience are the Perfect Dodges which are really just Astral Chain's version of Bayonetta's Witch Time. They slow time so that you can launch a counter attack.

    Astral Chain is another fantastic title from Platinum, and it deserves all the praise it's getting. Platinum was clearly experimenting with this title and it brings with it many 'firsts' for the company. For the first time in a Platinum game, you can customise your protagonist (though the customisation is limited to hair, eye colour and clothes). Unlike their previous games, AC has some metroidvania elements - as you unlock more Legions, you can enter previously inaccessible areas. The game draws inspiration from Bayonetta, Nier Automata, Batman Arkham series and Detroit Become Human, and it does so proudly. There are a few easter eggs for fans of previous Platinum titles as well, which is a nice touch. Just last night I unlocked 2B's voice for IRIS, that was a cool surprise.

    The graphics and attention to detail are stunning as is usual for Platinum. The UI and menus are very stylish and nicely animated, there are tonnes of particle effects everywhere, and even nice little touches like your X-Baton glitching when your Legion is out, the ground under your Legion's feet rippling and pixelating, your character's eyes lighting up when IRIS is active, their hair and eye colour changing when synced with their Legion, the Legion Core swirling and twisting in your Legatus... none of this is necessary but it shows how much love Platinum put in their games. Character, monster and vehicle designs are brilliant. Visuals deserve A+. For the game to look its best, play in handheld mode or on a standard HDTV. I'm playing on a 4KTV and the lack of antialiasing doesn't look that nice. It still looks pretty damn good, but nowhere near as good as PS4 Pro.

    The sound design is great as well, the soundtrack is particularly good, but that is to be expected from Platinum. Voice acting is just average, though, and some characters are pretty bad. Lip sync is also pretty much nonexistent. It's just nitpicking and it doesn't ruin the game in any way, but I still want to point it out. The protagonist is also silent, which annoyed me quite a bit. It looks rather awkward when everyone around you talks and you're just standing there grunting occasionally.

    Technically the game is very polished and runs very well. Haters love to point out the 30fps cap, but Bayonetta runs at 30fps too and they praise that one... Idiots and hypocrites. Story-wise, it feels a bit cliched. It's pretty much an amalgamation of every futuristic anime ever made. The artwork inside the game's box is also pretty spoiler-y, which seems like a rather odd choice.

    The combat is surprisingly underplayed in this game. You still fight a lot, but it's not as intense as Bayonetta was, and you spend a lot of time quietly investigating, talking to witnesses or sneaking around. It uses the classic 2-button combo system, except this time 1 button controls your character while the other controls your Legion. Chaining them together and timing them just right allows you to pull off some cool moves. You also directly use your Astral Chain to solve environmental puzzles and in battle. Each of the 5 Legions plays completely differently too. There's a melee Legion, a ranged one, a heavy hitter you can wear as an armour, a Legion that digs out enemies buried underground and you can also ride it like a horse... It adds variety and you're forced to switch Legions depending on the situation. If you're a fan of Platinum hack'n'slash, this game has a fantastic combat system you'll love!

    When you're not fighting, you use your IRIS to review security footage identically to how Detroit did it. There are also lots of hidden areas, secrets and collectables, which add additional replay value.

    Overall a great, great game I fell in love with instantly. Highly recommended! Looks, sounds and plays brilliantly. A definite must-have for any Switch owner. And if you're a PC peasant reading this, do yourself a favour and get the Switch instead of impotently hating online. I was just like you (minus the metabombing, I couldn't be bothered), until I finally relented after a year of dissing it. I'm so glad I did!     you get customization right in the start, not really depth custom, but the choice is actually neat (anime hairstyle, anyone?). the game is narrative, and lots of scene is cinematic. the combat is not superwhacky fast, but feels alright (more of Nier rather than Bayonetta or DMC), there are "peace" mode, where you do lighter quest, like fetch quest, not quite deep sub-quest, but it's good change of pace after you do a combat mission. there are upgrade and more action combination for the character so the combat adds extra depth as you progress.

    this is a japanese game, and lot of anime trope / cliche. if you are a Witcher-only type of guy, then this game is not for you, no need to butthurt over it.

    TL;DR this is Nier but with a lot of anime material injected inside, either for good or bad.    … Expand

    Gameplay is essentially pokemon ranger X Ace Attorney. Story is essentially a futuristic/apocalyptic shounen anime. It's not super original but it is charming at times. Combat has a lot of mechanics to master but feels great once you do. I'd recommend it overall.

    Combat is flat and tedious, you rely on AI and button mash. The art style is passionless and derivative. The protagonists and main characters are flat and uninteresting and the story is predictable and makes little sense. This is not a character-action game because it has no character and dull action.

    I can't put this game down from how beautiful it is. From the characters, to the sidequests, to the graphics, to the gameplay, to the story. It has all blown me away. Ignore those who are acting like children because it is exclusive to the switch. Pokemok is exclusive to the switch and it isn't made by nintendo

    The game is sadly receiving a "hate review bomb" from people who cant play it, dont listen to them.

    Is incredible, probably the best game that dropped this year and the best looking game Platinum did so far, is fun, really unique, innovative and very ambitious.

    Es uno de los mejores juegos en el catálogo de Nintendo Switch.

    La jugabilidad es excelente , historia y desarrollo progresivo de experiencia con el jugador,y los gráficos también son muy buenos. Los 30FPS ni se notan, como también en 30 FPS los tuvo el Spiderman de PS4, o el GOW de Playstation, es un claro candidato a juego del año

    As for the game, some of them mentioned that it is pure button mashing. I'm guessing you are playing it on the easiest difficulty cause on PT standard, you actually need to time your dodges. And some people saying OH 30FPS 30 FPS. Just shhhh I'm losing brain cells reading your review.

    NOW MY ACTUAL REVIEW:
    Game is great with the mix of combat and investigation but I find myself drained from the sensory overload after playing each chapter and I'll need to take a break to recharge before playing another chapter. But this is a good thing i guess so I won't clear it over the weekend and be left with nothing to do waiting for a new game hahaha.    … Expand
