    One of the top 5 games i purchased for my switch! amazing graphics and playability, very engaging and fun, hitting those combos is VERY satisfying to watch :) definitely worth the buy!

    Me parece una aberración y una vergüenza absoluta el hate de casi 800 usuarios (a día de hoy) que únicamente entran con la intención de rebajar la nota. Bien por que les da rabia que este juego no salga en sus plataformas o bien por que parece que escuece (y mucho) que Nintendo Switch esté haciendo las cosas bien.     Es lamentable que la comunidad, en vez de celebrar que estamos en una época dorada, con un montón de juegos buenos, absolutas obras maestras, que salen mes tras mes para un montón de plataformas diferentes para todos los gustos y bolsillos, lo que hace es generar odio y envidias y pretendan hacer daño a una compañía que ha creado juegos tan buenos. Me da asco ver que la gente es tan ruin como para no tener ni un mínimo de respeto por el trabajo ajeno. Me gustaría ver que pensarían si fueran sus trabajos los que son criticados. Aunque sinceramente, pienso que un tanto por ciento muy grande de estos haters son niños y adolescentes que no saben lo que cuesta hacer un trabajo de esta envergadura. Cualquier persona con dos dedos de frente no entraría a poner un 0 por pura rabieta de niñato.

    Lo dicho, este juego, que ya llevo casi 10 horas de juego me parece una obra de arte, variado, divertido, con una propuesta fresca y que engancha desde el minuto uno. Puedo entender que no le guste a todo el mundo, pero es de cínicos negar que es un juego excelente y el inicio de una saga espectacular.

    Me da pena por los haters que nunca probarán Astral Chain por que son unos niñatos. Volved al Fortnite y dejad de fastidiar al resto.    … Expand

    This game is great. Once you finish file 2 the combat open up and the more time you spend playing it and unlock more moves and abilities, the better it becomes. The music is amazing, the story is very interesting with some deep lore and likable characters. Sequel when?

    Amazing characters, art, and gameplay. This game is stunning to look at. The combat is addicting. The station and “non mission” areas feel and sound like Persona. I enjoy it very much so. This game was bombed by trolls that have no life. Take it from someone who actually owns the game. This new IP is something special. Metacritic needs to be actively working against review bombing insteadAmazing characters, art, and gameplay. This game is stunning to look at. The combat is addicting.     Astral Chain est surprenant ! Malgré un coté serie B, c un scénario bien construit et bien s'offre à nous. La technique est au rendez vous et Astral Chain pourrait bien être la plus joli exclu techniquement. La D.A quand a elle, plaira ou pas, mais elle s'integre bien au jeu. Le gameplay semble sans faille et si profond. Le jeu reste assez dur en normal mais dofferente difficulté existe.Astral Chain est surprenant !     Honestly speaking, this game is a 8.7/10, but I'm giving it the 10 due to review bombing. This game has a ton of personality, especially that quirky humor that P*Games tend to have (see Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising). The combat is tight and is quite varied especially as the game progresses. There is a ton of side content to play around with, and it is a welcome change to the formula asHonestly speaking, this game is a 8.7/10, but I'm giving it the 10 due to review bombing.     A great game with addictive action and an interesting story. I wish it was a little less linear, but I guess I’ve just been playing to much BotW. It’s not the best game ever, but it’s really damn good!

    Amazing game, fast paced, some well adjusted slow levels, incredible graphics, fun combat, great world building. One of the newest additions to the "must have" switch titles. Dont listen to the negative reviewers, people are mad the game is switch exclusive.

    **** fantastic game. The combat is good at the start but can still be expanded upon once further in. There's non combat parts of the game that offers investigating cases of civilans and puzzles that are almost as good.

    Another masterpiece by one of the best game developers, PlatinumGames, as usual very fun combat that could be called a best of of all previous of their games, Bayonetta like dodging and even some cutting mechanics of Metal Gear Rising got implemented, but of course it brings in lots of new ideas. But other than their previous games, if we don't count NieR Automata, this one puts more focusAnother masterpiece by one of the best game developers, PlatinumGames, as usual very fun combat that could be called a best of of all previous of their games, Bayonetta like dodging and even some cutting mechanics of Metal Gear Rising got implemented, but of course it brings in lots of new ideas. But other than their previous games, if we don't count NieR Automata, this one puts more focus on story telling and exploring, you can talk to many people like in an RPG, solve side quests and find chests and cats. The game is build to be replayed as you won't be able to find and do everything on the 1st playthrough.
    The graphics are very nice, animations are fluid, female characters are visually appealing, the nice boobs and butts are jiggling. It uses a cell shaded anime graphic style that fits the game very well and runs smooth 99% of the time.
    The game is played in chapters which are basically build in 3 parts, the headquarters where you can talk to your teammates and get your instructions, a part of the ark, mostly a part of a town to explore and interact with the citizen and the Astral Planes, where most of the fighting is puzzling takes place.

    If I had anything negative to say it's that the german translation is not the greatest, I played the game with japanese dub and german text and even though my japanese is limited I was sometimes baffled with the inaccurate translations, like translating a simple "Chotto Matte" into "Ma'am? Eww". I can't say how the english dub and translation are but normally they are decent in PlatinumGames' games. Also the character you play is mute. None of this lowers my love for the game though.

    The game has a decent lenght and a lot of replayability with unlockable difficulty and a Yakuza like Completion List to work through and unlock items, costumes, colors, lenses for your camera and more.

    For Switch owners that like action games, this is a must have.    … Expand

    Excelente juego lo recomiendo mucho, es sensacional en todos los apartados.

    Y no se dejen engañar por la puntuación que tiene el "User Score" porque está siendo manipulada por haters y fanboys, mejor hagan caso a la puntuación del Metascore.

    Without getting to pretentious. I'd say this game is challenging and fun for anyone who wants to try it! It looks nice, it's unique, and it's fun! So I'll give it a 9/10 because it isn't perfect (nothing is) but it's definitely great and worth it.

    Raising the score up, review bombing is not right so I am going to do something about it. But this game looks amazing and the combat is pretty cool as well. I can’t wait to play it when I have the time to do so.

This is a fantastic game I try not to score things "10 outta 10" I mean 10 outta 10 means its "perfect" and I don't feel any game is ever 100% perfect, but Astral Chain is pretty darn close! It really is! If your seriously um'in and ar'in over it, dont, I can pretty much guarantee your gunna love it! MJ

    I own the game and it’s really good. It’s a shame that people are review bombing it. It takes sometime to learn but if you can handle figuring out new mechanics then you can handle this learning curve.

    It is awesome that Nintendo and platinum games are coming out with new ips.

    Great game, whit pretty new mechanics, not your ordinary hack n slash, one of the beat Switch exclusives, pretty solid 30FPS and awesome art. I dont want to spoil anybody but the plot twist it's very exciting

    For me the first 1 hour was kinda week and the combos were not really there but after you get back your legion the game has great combos, fast gameplay and great characters and story.     This was a great game, the story was well done (until the last 2 chapters, not going to say anything, play the game or watch a walkthrough) the combat is the best that Platinum games has ever made. The graphics are clean on dock and in handled is good for the most part. The soundtrack is very nice. Overall 8.5 the last 2 chapters felt rushed to me but that doesn't mean it a bad game.

    10 minutes in and you already know that Astral Chain is a game of the year contender. The world building, the soundtrack and even the quirks draw you in instantly which is hard to accomplish at the start of video games.
    The combat is different than the average Plantinum game and its refreshing to see, the choices of Legions offer a range of play styles.

    1. The game doesn't run at 60fps. You might not care, and you might not "notice it" (which is code for "I don't know what to look for so I'll deflect a criticism I don't understand"), but 60fps has been, and should always be, the standard in these games.

    In a skill-intensive, mission-based action game that encourages you to get the best rank possible during combat, every single frame counts. The controls need to be as responsive as possible with as little input delay as possible, and 30fps makes that so much harder to achieve. What baffles me the most is that this is Platinum, the guys who always target 60fps with these types of games. In a day and age when Devil May Cry 5 exists, there's literally no excuse.

    So what if the Switch isn't as powerful as a base PS4 or Xbox One, don't focus so heavily on visuals if it's going to be a detriment to the overall gameplay when it truly matters This isn't an open-world or sandbox game, this is a linear action game with branching secrets and an emphasis on combat. And if they really wanted people to experience pretty visuals over responsive and gratifying gameplay with minimum input delay, then why not give us the option? Plenty of games now allow you to choose between performance and visual fidelity, even Fire Emblem Warriors on the Switch.

    If someone at Platinum sees this, please include this in an update. In many cases, it can make the difference between an okay game and a great game.

    2. Souls-like elements do not work in a character-action game. For those who don't know, the lock-on is done by pressing the right-stick in, like a Souls game, and attacking is done with the trigger buttons. This is fine in a souls-like, but not a character-action game akin to Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta. It makes it harder to switch focus between enemies when that type of control scheme is geared towards a slower-paced, more methodical kind of game, but implemented in a faster-paced game that demands the most ergonomic control scheme.

    The game does have different input options, but the way lock-on is implemented by nature makes it a pultry amendment at best.

    Oh, but that's not the only souls-like element in the game. While this issue is less noticable than the framerate problem, it's worth noting that you cannot jump into the air by normal means. A feature in DMC, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, The Wonderful 101, and Metal Gear Rising, is done away with in Astral Chain. I wouldn't have minded so much if they hadn't thrown pace-breaking obstacles at you that could've been dealt with in a number of ways given the player was fast enough. But there's even souls-like gimmicks and hazards that make their way into this game, like sticky floors in the 4th mission, which stop the player dead in their tracks. It's an unfair disadvantage that doesn't add a worthy challenge, but rather hinders the player in a game that expects them to play at their best and make precise dodges. The pace of the fight comes to a crashing halt when you transition from a dodge to an unskippable stumbling animation after landing in said sticky substance, and it can cost you a perfect S+ rank. And the worst part is that it would've been a passable feature if you were able to jump more easily to attack in mid-air, much like Nero from DMC5 when things get dicy on the ground.

    These two subjects and the problems inherent within them do not prevent the game from having worthwhile, enjoyable content within it, nor should they deter you from getting the game at £40. They are, however, easy enough problems to fix given Platinum's calibre. If they did update the game and provide an option for people to weaken the visuals for a smooth 60fps, then my score would likely go from a 7 to a 9. but as things currently stand, it is a severely disappointing aspect of what could've been a new rival to DMC5 and its threshold of the best character-action gameplay.    … Expand

    To a certain degree this helps keep the game feel "fresh" because you can always count on new mechanics being introduced along the way, however it doesn't help the pacing. At times the game really drags on for longer than it should and other times it's the action goodness we're used from platinum games. Pure action is not all we get with Astral Chain, though. This game is actually quite a lot more varied.
    Usually you start off a chapter with a Batman Arkham like investigation section, get into some platforming and Zelda Dungeon like puzzle solving which leads you right into some action packed fights. There's also stealth segments, some smaller side quests and a huge achievement log to complete.

    In terms of presentation I have to say this game certainly is no technical mirracle when it comes to pure graphical effects. HOWEVER I didn't mind the 720(-810)p 30frames at all because the game has such a cohesive art style and so many neat little details that weren't necessary that really sell the look and feel of the game.
    And yeah yeah, I know how this sounds, "30 fps in an action game with fast paced combat" but trust me, it's absolutely not an issue. Enemies telegraph their attacks perfectly visible and with a fair timing, the frame rate is very solid for the most part (and only loses about 1-2 frames at its worst) and the game feels responsive. I got used to it very quickly and didn't even notice it anymore after while.

    Also, let me just mention the soundtrack real quick.
    It's sort of a mix of what we know from NieR and NieR:Automata with more of a rock-pop feel to it and Xenoblade OSTs.
    If that doesn't tell you anything let me put it this way:
    It's bloody good. And I need it on Spotify. Now.

    The story is... There. And it's by no means bad. But it can't compare to anything Platinum have done with NieR. Instead I'd say it is satisfactory and enough to make your time with the game worth it.
    I've seen some people complain about the voice acting, which I don't agree with.
    While it is a bit irritating having Morgana from P5 giving you a tour around the facility the voice acting itself isn't bad at all. In fact I quite liked it.
    The only issue is lip synchronisation. Here the game has the same issues as Xenoblade 2 where the voice line stops but the character keeps moving his mouth for another 2-3 seconds. It didn't happen too often but I admit it can be a little irritating.

    Overall these really are minor issues to me and I still absolutely feel I got my money's worth with Astral Chain.

    I'm only about six hours into Astral Chain but even I know that giving it a 0 is stupid. The number of customization options is absurd, the music is catchy an evokes a very Ghost in the Shell-esque vibe. I'm still working on getting the hang of the combat but it's getting more interesting the further I get.

The gameplay is solid, the graphics are beautiful, the level up system is great and unlock a bunch of neat abilities for your Legions. The only reason I never gave it a 10 was because your character isn't voiced. All talking is done by the other character you don't pick.. minor thing I know.. but here we are lol. Do yourself a favor and pick up this game! I hope this is the beginning of a multi game series because if the second game is half as good as this one it will be an easy day one buy for me again!… Expand

    Basic premise, starts out in lab testing on legions, throws you straight into the action with bike bit like bayonetta 1, you then take control of a customizable character who is given legion from before, after fighting some enemies which you have yet to be fully introduced to you go back to the station and fully join the ranks, wont spoil anymore because game is new. But know that the story overall while with some pacing issues i suppose is actually pretty interesting. And the characters who are involved throughout the game are actually really likeable.
    Gameplay, fast paced and action packed, not as good as bayo 1 or nier but still a lot of fun, using your different legions for power, range or mobility adds a unique level of depth to combat, even if controlling the legions is a tad clunky at select times. But I do wish that the finishers were less similar like how bayonetta had a wide variety of finisher animations while astral chain has a very similar looking one for practically all enemy types. Puzzles are somewhat mundane but neccesary I suppose. Searching around for clues and questioning people for info is defianetly fun especially when you need to use that info in a series of questions at the end. But that being said I cant say I was disappointed when I found out that this section was over.
    Presentation, game runs smoothly and looks great for the switch, couldnt tell that it was only at 30 fps at firtst, looks better than a lot of other switch games. Which is only complimented by the art style which looks amazing a lot of the time especially in the city area where all the lights and bustling people make the scenery feel alive and just look really good. Plus alll the fights look really flashy and over the top with all the particles flying off an such only making the combat feel that much better as a result.
    Ost, its really good though like the combat i prefer bayo and nier. The hub theme is probably my favorite track in the game while the rest of the ost is still great but more forgettable in comparison to its predecessors. But dont get me wrong the ost is still fantastic and fits the game really well.
    Conclusion: overall I really recommend astral chain, If you arent into platinums other games then believe me this wont win you over but if you are already a fan of there other games like i am then i can strongly recommend you this game despite some small issues here and there.    … Expand

    This game is really excellent, I can’t put it down. The art style is amazing and the gameplay is just so much fun. Once you get the hang of switching between legions you can pull off sone really flashy and fun moves! Don’t listen to all the negative reviews, it might not be your cup of tea but it’s a brilliant new ip for Nintendo. A must play in my book!

The gameplay is great once you understand how to control yourself and your legion.     Para resumir estos puntos negativos hay que decir que astral chain es un homenaje a todos los juegos de platinum games, sacando y perfeccionando lo mejor de cada uno de ellos, dando como resultado este gran juego, pero no aportando nada más, es una vieja formula perfeccionada lo cual para algunos será negativo al no arriesgarse lo suficiente o bastante positivo teniendo todo lo que hizo grandes a sus antesesores.
    si bien tiene varios puntos negativos como puse en evidencia arriba, este juego tiene muchas más cosas positivas que negativas.
    Empezando por el sistema de peleas y llendo por el de progresion, los escenarios, que si bien se repiten muy de vez en cuando, no le quita lo bien trabajados que están,además, mantenimiento esos 30 fps en cualquier momento y ese factor de rejugabilidad que te va a hacer volver un par de veces más al juego.
    Astral chain brilla por su sistema de peleas y progresion, además de tener una duración aceptable, un soundtrack bastante bien puesto y tener el sello de platinum games por todos lados.
    Sin duda un juego increíble que no debe de faltar si es que te gustan los juegos de accion y este "caos controlado" que define a los hack and Slash más importantes de la industria, un juego perfecto si logras obviar unos cuantos errores, sin duda un juego infaltable en cualquier colección de swich    … Expand

    Honestly this game is not perfect but any user review below a 6 is just trolling the game because of console fanboyism. I personally feel that this is easily one of Platinum's most creative action games yet with an insane anime plot (that's a good thing) and a unique combat system. I REALLY dig the fact that the attack button is on the left trigger and that there is no jump button.     Astral Chain is an incredible action game and easily the best game to date from Platinum Games. It is simply baffling that such a masterpiece of modern game design and graphics can run so flawlessly on a handheld console: a tribute to the remarkable architecture of the Nintendo Switch.
