With combat full of possibilities, an intriguing story and an excellent environment, Vernal Edge is not only a game with its own identity, but it is also very special. With that, it deserves a top spot on any metroidvania fan's wish list.

This game takes a new perspective on the metroidvania genre and it works out really well, with alternatives to double jump or wall climb. The platforming is pretty basic but the upgrade sistem is fantastic, with many options and beeing able to deactivate buffs.
The character is pretty cool as wel.
The main strong point is the combat, it is absolutely fantastic, the pulse sistem rewards agressive play and makes for a nice option for healing. The breach mechanics are super well done and makes the combat even better. My only grudge is the mana sistem, it fells clunky the way it recharges.
    Overall good game, recommended
