    Absolutely loved this game from start to finish. Was excited for Stray ever since the reveal and it exceeded my expectations by a lot. It’s a well rounded game with great visuals, great music, great environments, fun gameplay and a cute cat. Finished the game in 6 hours, but it could easily be 7-8 hours with the collectibles/memories i missed. Can’t wait to get back in and do an allAbsolutely loved this game from start to finish.     I guess I’m the only one who didn’t like it. The physics are awful. The controls felt old and janky to me. The graphics weren’t that special. I never enjoyed playing it. I truly think this is the most overrated game of the year. I do love that it is free and bold new direction.

    You play as a cat. The cat's movements are very, well, cat-like. Simple yet effective gameplay mechanics. Navigation and puzzles are pretty fun. Engaging exploration and side content. A captivating and well-told story. Endearing characters. Perfectly paced. Looks great

    From a gameplay perspective, Stray isn’t going to win any awards. It’s straightforward, although it takes care to never let that mean unengaging either. But by constantly keeping the player’s attention, be it either via gameplay or its unique setting and atmosphere, Stray makes a very compelling case for itself, and for the player to stick with it beyond just the initial curiosity that the elevator pitch incites. “A cat in a cyberpunk city” is no low-effort ploy to generate conversation and interest- it’s the foundation of a genuinely good game with a lot of heart.    … Expand

    Excellent game, i loved the visuals, the music and the story. Lots of details in the cat actions and movement. It's a short game, but it's better a good short game, than a bad long one.

    It could have just been "the cat game" but goes much deeper and offers an interesting story and world. Would definitely recommend it! Hope there's a sequel.

History of robots, how they try to be human and wear asian hats and hawaiian shirts. All in all I liked the game. Only one mines few graphic bags.     I won't put 10 just because i can't put this game in the same category as the last of us but this is an absolute masterpiece. I was interested from the moment i saw the first trailer and it did not disappoint. If you wanna pass some good 4-6 hours you should definitely play this game.

My only complaint is the end--I love a bittersweet conclusion, but I feel like the payoff on the sweet side was incomplete. The bitter was what happened to B12, so it should have been sweetly rewarded by fulfilling the bookend set by the prologue, and you would be hard-pressed to convince me otherwise.

    Aka, (spoiler) if the game provided closure by reuniting the cat with its family/colony, this would have been a 10 for me. But without that, it's unsatisfying, for all that the rest of the game is just GREAT.    … Expand

    This game is worthy of every bit of of praise that it's getting. A beautiful story in an incredibly well designed and stunning world to explore in a very unique way. fantastic music, good controls. All round a fantastic game up there with the likes of What Remains Of Edith Finch, Firewatch, Oxenfree etc.

    Such a beautiful and fun I liked even more than I would have imagined. Cute little story, fun adventures, lots to explore, puzzles to solve. One of the best Indies I've ever played impressive it was even fun to speedrun.

    Great game, solid sound design, and art. I also really love when you turn a game and just play it as the developer intended. No difficulty settings etc. Set the brightness and go. I see people saying it's 4 hours, but it took me 6.5. No rushing, but not going back to get the collectibles etc. Headphones recommended. Congrats to the studio.

What's holding this game back from a 10 is the number of bugs, I had to reset the game many times and even got soft locked on 3 occasions.     One of the most disappointing games I've ever experienced. I remember the old Reddit post showing off this games pre-alpha mechanics, and to be honest, the game is just a prettier version of that. There's nothing whatsoever to this game once the cute factor has worn off, and the story did not make me want to finish its even miniscule run time.

    Great game. Nice atmosphere and the physics of the cat are very good. Could be a bit longer but overal a great experience and worth the money IMO.

    Agreeably this is a very short game but it's packed full of things to do and boiling over with emotion can't wait to see what comes next out of this great studio.

    I greatly enjoyed Stray's aesthetic and world building. The city and the robots felt realized and a connected to each other. The actual gameplay was very simple but managed to stay entertaining enough due to the games very short runtime of around 4 hours. The open city areas were fun to explore and collect the various items to create new opportunities. The soundtrack was full on awesomeI greatly enjoyed Stray's aesthetic and world building.     A unique game with some downsides on difficulty and length. If you are looking for a shorter more casual game this is definitely for you. its a very different experience than what you will get in most other games and really packs in a lot in a 4 to 6 hour campaign.

    Stray e um otimo jogo que apresenta um execelente campanha com um jogabilidade e graficos interesantes desvantagem que tem um historia muito pequena mais a riquesa de detalhes e de chamar atenção os puzzles são bem feitos recomendo bastante jogarem vai se divertir

    The gameplay is refreshing and fun. The one thing i dont like about it is the jump prompt can mess you up. The graphics are are clear and visually stunning. I recommend this title.

    I loved so much this game. The story is so much different compared to other thousands robot stories and the details you can see in the game are impressive. Longevity is very short but you’re gonna take time just to collect all the memories and badges. The setting is just amazing you’re gonna feel claustrophobic in every single street you put paws on.     el gatojuego es un producto simplemente increible, lo precompre en cuanto salió en steam y cada dia que espere por el valio la pena, la historia me parece un 10/10 con una premisa interesante, los graficos se ven bien y no he tenido problemas de rendimiento pese a tener un pc regular, solo tuve 2 bugs los cuales fueron de sonido y visual respectivamente, el de sonido fue al patear un cuboel gatojuego es un producto simplemente increible, lo precompre en cuanto salió en steam y cada dia que espere por el valio la pena, la historia me parece un 10/10 con una premisa interesante, los graficos se ven bien y no he tenido problemas de rendimiento pese a tener un pc regular, solo tuve 2 bugs los cuales fueron de sonido y visual respectivamente, el de sonido fue al patear un cubo que habia causando que se escuchara infinitamente el ruido de ser pateado cada vez mas fuerte, el visual fue que el gato giró su cuello en un angulo de 360 grados separandolo de su cuerpo, a mi me dieron risa y no afectaron lo mas minimo en mi gameplay ni experiencia, juegazo.… Expand

    The story itself is okay, the end is a little predicrable however and felt a bit too forced.
    Some minor things that bothered me are for example mirrors that one show blurry shades instead of real mirrored image. That doesn't fit to the rest of the game, in my opinion.     Es una aventura increíble, todos los personajes son adorables y entrañables. La música sabe cuando sonar tenue y sutil y cuando callar para dejarte disfrutar los increíbles paisajes que se te presenta, la historia aunque predecible y nada nueva, sabe como contarse y entusiasmar al jugador por conocer mas del lore acerca de este universo. Aunque la experiencia se puede decir que es lineal,Es una aventura increíble, todos los personajes son adorables y entrañables. La música sabe cuando sonar tenue y sutil y cuando callar para dejarte disfrutar los increíbles paisajes que se te presenta, la historia aunque predecible y nada nueva, sabe como contarse y entusiasmar al jugador por conocer mas del lore acerca de este universo. Aunque la experiencia se puede decir que es lineal, me encanta que en las ciudades tengas tantos espacios para explorar, habitaciones que literalmente están ahí para nada salvo tu disfrute. Las texturas (como las hojas y las plantas) interactúan al tu paso y los espacios se sienten muy bien construidos, el mapeado es increíble y definitivamente recomiendo que no rushes el juego en tu primera partida, disfruta de explorar cada rincón, conocer a cada npc, y terminar todas las quest y recuerdos de cada zona.
    Ahora bien, no todo es miel sobre hojuelas, yo pague $220 MXN por el en precompra, lo cual es un precio mas accesible, pero sé que en este momento el precio es al rededor de 30 USD, lo cual puede doler un poco sabiendo que el juego es corto. Su rejugabilidad es muy poca (de 2 a 3 runs dependiendo de cuanto hayas logrado en tu primera partida) y aunque sé que el juego es mas un tipo de simulador de gato, me hubiera gustado que el plataformeo (que es excelente) fuera un poco mas difícil y tuviera la opción de dejarte hacerlo por tu cuenta, tomando riesgos y sufrir las consecuencias por acciones mal medidas.
    Es un increíble juego indie que si tienes la oportunidad de pagarlo, te lo recomiendo al 100% y aunque la rejugabilidad no es la mejor, si me veo en el futuro entrando de nuevo al juego a solo estar de chill, a escuchar la música de nuestro amigo Morusque y dejarme envolver por su magnifica inmersión y su ecosistema que funciona por si solo    … Expand

    Stray is nice and chill, but never boring. Jumping is easy and fluid and you don't have to worry about falling down. Soon you will feel like King Kitty, master of rooftops!

    There's actiony bits, but what I loved most were the town hubs where the game feels most like an old-fashioned adventure game. There's so much to do and see. Take your time to look around and be part of the setting. The world is gorgeous and the animations and expressions of the cat are outstanding.
    At around 6 hours, the game doesn't overstay it's welcome. And I appreciated that, because I still have tons of 40+ hour games to finish.

    Wholeheartedly recommended to everyone (who is open to a gaming experience that isn't a multiplayer shooter, and let's be honest, don't we have enough of those already?).    … Expand

    Great indie title and a added bonus it is free for ps plus extra and premium users. A short 5hr platformer with enough adaptations in environment and gameplay to keep it fresh and enticing. If you are a pet owner don't be surprised if your feline friend causes some barking or meowing. The added dualsense features make it a must play for ps5 users. only criticism is the length but IGreat indie title and a added bonus it is free for ps plus extra and premium users.     Ich habe erst wieder zum Spielen gefunden, als ich mich gezwungen habe Horizon FW ((PS5) zu Ende zu spielen.
    Dieses Spiel hat mich sehr viele Stunden gekostet und ich habe mich dann auch nach einigen Stunden in diese Welt verliebt, da sie nur so vor Kleinigkeiten strotzte.

    Aber...

    Stray hat mich einfach seit der ersten Minute gefangen, die Details gerade am Anfang mit der Familie, dann der Versuch einer Katze ein Geschirr überzuziehen (die fallen wirklich nach fünf Schritten um und legen sich hin, probierst es aus).
    Diese kleinen Sachen, haben mir seit langem gezeigt, wieso ich Spiele liebe, dass man sich einer Welt hingeben kann und in diese eintaucht, mit allen Gefühlen.
    Die Rätsel sind von einfach bis sehr hartnäckig (ein Resident Evil, darf sich aber gerne was an den Rätseln abschauen, würde mich freuen).

    Ja, die Steuerung auf PS5... R2 sprinten....X springen oder runter springen usw...
    Es ist keine Doktorarbeit dieses Spiel zu spielen, aber die Welt fesselt einen und man ist nur im ersten Bereich erst mal am Erkunden, da die Welt und die Roboter sehr liebevoll gezeichnet sind, man will einfach alles von selbst erkunden, halt wie eine Katze.

    Die Gegner...
    Ja, ihr muss vor Ihnen flüchten, aber man ist ja eine Katze und flink, dürfte also kein Hindernis sein, man hat ja auch eine Taste zum abschütteln ;)

    Die Grafik...
    Es sind keine Raytracing Spiegelungen auf der PS5 vorhanden, PC bin ich mir leider nicht sicher, aber man braucht es auch nicht, außer ihr schaut in jeder Pfütze nach, ob sich die Spiegelung auf und ab bewegt.

    Fazit:

    Awesome game! I loved all aspects of it; the story, the gameplay, the puzzles and everything else! The characters and story are in-depth and give a lulling sense that draws you into this cyber city. I highly recommend!

    This game really surprised me, the graphics are pretty good and the simple mechanics are so enjoyable, the plot is also deep and makes you think a lot, and experiencing everything from a cute kitty just makes it purrfect! Indie goty for me

    Still haven’t finished the game, but it incredibly satisfying to watch. Unfortunately scripted platforming makes the otherwise extremely fluid and seem less experience feel a little more clunky than it should, but nonetheless even with its simplicity it seems to have an intriguing story and cats, which is more than enough for a good score

Графика в игре опупенная, level дизайн кайфовый, дайте я расцелую разработчиков в пупок, за такой графический стиль. И музыка тоже классная это не сайфай а просто расслабляющая элекронка. Игра проходится за 7-8 часов, если вы не тупой как я. По сути игра не привносит каких уникальных геймплэйных или сюжетных фишек, чувство что я все это когда-то видел.(например дизайн зурков точь в точь как хэдкраб но с глазом). Но господи, как мне было приятно ее проходить, иммено приятно, я просто расслаблялся и играл, были моменты где после состояния релакса мой булки сжимались, но не очень сильно. Stray, это не революция в индустрии, это просто классная, и очень приятная игра. Приходишь ты вечерком с кружкой чая закутываешься в плед и с геймпадом в руках исследуешь этот мир. :)… Expand

Simple puzzles and story make this game accessible to anyone that wants to enjoy it, and that's the best part. It took 7.5 hours to complete my first playthrough, and I acquired half of the achievements. I spent a lot of time collecting extras and checking in with NPCs multiple times because their dialogue progresses throughout the game. What surprised me the most is that the novelty never wore off, I never stopped enjoying or giggling at getting my head stuck in a paper bag or batting objects off of ledges. I love this game and have really enjoyed watching others play it as well.… Expand

The puzzles and the missions are so well integrated with the story that everything feels so organic, the mood changes are handled amazingly. It's all great, this game starts like a joke: (Spoilers ahead)
    You, are a cat, and the cat you control actually feels a lot, like a cat.
    And then, you are a cat, in the future. And then there's robots. And then there's Silent Hill, and you are a cat. But you have a friend, and you start to care for that friend, and then you lose him. And then, it ends.
    The end of the game shows you the loss of someone close but from the perspective of a cat, and that is... weird and hard, and obviously sad

    Simple, classic, but beautiful history. Two charming main characters. Very well detailed atmosphere, Great music. Very good job in small details, for example, the meowing button. My only complaint (only in specific situations) is the camera position, but nothing catastrophic. The final is melancholic but great at the same time.

    The game is fascinating, there are difficult moments that add interest and complement the gameplay. This is the world that was able to sink into the soul and leave behind positive emotions. And this beautiful view from the control center. I have only 1 minus at launch, and in some places there were friezes during the passage.

The only thing letting it down is the length, since the world is so rich and lovingly crafted you just want to explore it and its lore for longer than the reasonably short time that the game offers (and even then, I can't mark it down as the time you to get to spend in the world is so fun & immersive).

    Stray offers a gaming experience that is unique amongst a lot of same-y titles released recently. Rather than focusing on complexity and difficulty, Stray's degree of immersion beats out any title I've played in a very long time. The game is often totally committed to the experience of controlling a cat, except where necessary to progress the story. The mechanics are simple and accessible while still remaining suitably entertaining and puzzling through the inclusion of collectibles obtained with optional side quests. One of the criticisms levelled at Stray has been the simplicity of the jumping mechanics at the core of its gameplay, but for me I believe it to be one of its strongest features. It comes with the added immersion and makes the stunning world not only accessible all kinds of players, but the world building also becomes less restricted. The stray cat makes calculated jumps with a few fun animations added from time to time, prances elegantly along narrow walkways, and slides under low passageways in a manner that feels authentically cat.

    The world the player inhabits in Stray is not unique to this game - it draws plenty of influence from cult classics in all kinds of media and history. However the perspective of the stray cat allows exploration in the cyberpunk landscape that I've personally never seen before. Cities feel very different when you're ~25cm tall, and this brings a whole new novelty to the genre. Otherwise neglected corners, furniture, ledges, rooftops, and buckets come alive in the eyes of a cat and the attention to detail BlueTwelve has dedicated to Walled City 99 is excellent. For this reason, Stray is a short game best spent taking your time. A two/three hour spring through the alleys of the city would not be well spent, in my opinion. Much of my 9.5 hour playthrough was spent scaling buildings without purpose, nuzzling up against & meowing against robots, scratching furniture, or even just napping in one of the many lovingly crafted spots to curl up in. It never gets boring, especially not with the fantastic score playing in the background.

    Above all, Stray's story is its best selling point. Its simple mechanics and immersion aid in the player forming genuine emotional bonds with the characters you encounter. B-12, a robot companion that you meet early in the game and spend the rest of the journey with, is your sole means of communication and interaction with the most human elements of the world. He acts as your communicator, your inventory, your guide, and very quickly, your friend. The limitations of being a cat blend with the assistance of your robot friend to open up the dystopian cyberpunk landscape in new ways. B-12 can hack computers while you jump in boxes to hide from enemies (or, often, just like the look of a box). The Companions, robots who inhabit the city in lieu of humans, interact with you in ways that gives you a warm & fuzzy feeling often without saying any words. Your initial goal (although still ever-present), melts away into a wider quest for freedom that you feel genuinely invested in. The lore is often fleeting with many unanswered questions, but this feels intentional. You aren't supposed to have all the answers, not in a world that may be hundreds of years from the last true human body, a world that is sometimes steeped in a mythology about humans and the world that came before this robotic dystopia. Some of that knowledge is either lost in time or beyond the reach of our tiny cat's abilities. While I was left wanting more answers, it wasn't in a way that was unsatisfying. There's just enough room to come to your own conclusions and theorise for yourself.

    The culmination of the story is bittersweet, beautiful, and deeply emotional. Again, the developers leave us with an ending that leaves enough questions while closing the threads it needed to. Our cat's journey with us is over, but only because they don't need us to guide them any more.    … Expand

Not every game needs to have massive playtime to be great.

    Definitely GOTY! I loved this game from start to finish. 100% finished the game within 10 hours. According to other reviews I can be done within 8 hours. I enjoyed the game way too much.

    I did cry in the end. Only 2 games made me cry Red Dead Redemion 2 and STRAY.
    In the rolling titles you can see the names of the cats that took a role in this game and 3 were RIP I did cry twice as hard. Awersome Story of a stay car, the best game I did play in a last years

    If you are allergic to cats, hate mystery, exploration and a good atmosphere in video games, don’t play Stray. Otherwise, you’ve probably already beaten it. It’s a rare occasion to get a title such as this. And if it looks like something you might enjoy, that’s likely because you most surely would.

    Stray makes the most of its choice of protagonist early on, really allowing you to do all the things a typical cat would do, though it eventually loses sight of that in favour of spotlighting the short story. That’s no cause for hissing, though it does leave the overall experience feeling somewhat like two kittens from different litters forced together. The combination works better than it should, but we’re ultimately left wondering what could’ve resulted if either half of the game had been given enough space to stand alone. [Issue#18, p.70]

    It sounds ridiculous. And maybe it is. But the first ten minutes of Stray broke our heart. We’re a soft-boiled egg when it comes to animals, even when they're completely fictional. A cat who loses his friends and then gets hurt? Enough for an intense feeling of sadness and pity. It is not the challenge, but the experience that is key in this game. You really play Stray for the atmosphere. And that's exactly right.
