    Amazing game. It's short but that is not a weak spot, it's a storytelling game with a great world and characters. Simple yet amazing characters, old yet new ideas, and a stunning world with great graphics. I really recommend that game to everyone. I really do hope for more games like this

    The atmosphere and environment design are top notch. I loved spending time in each of the "town" areas. I really love the first town, The Slums. Extremely fun to just explore and find out about the world through exploration instead of exposition.
    The narrative that the story tells, at its core, is moving and well crafted.     The narrative that the story tells, at its core, is moving and well crafted. The part where I am not giving this game a perfect 10 is that I feel like the "zurk" are unnecessary to the story. The dystopia works really well without them.
    I think the strength is in the exploration and interaction the player-cat has with their companion.

    Stray is a fun, relaxing game that, if you’ll forgive the pun, strays from the decision of so many game developers today to create experiences that are as exclusionary and ball-crushingly difficult as possible.

    Come for the cat, stay for the intriguing environments and characters.

    I completed the game in 6 hours in my first casual playthrough. The game is nice and looks incredible.
    The story is interesting. Behind it, the lore is melancholic. The ending, however, is somewhat disappointing. I wished it stretched out a bit more.

As I play as a cat, I can hit billiard balls on a pool table, drop objects from a ledge that can make someone angry, meow to grab someone's attention, wear a paper bag around my head which confuses my movement, adorably rest on a blanket next to someone who watches me, scratch against the doors to alert someone from the other side, ride on a small bucket that is attached on a zipline, crawl through tight holes that others can't, much more I can't keep on listing them here. Basically, I can do almost everything that cats do.
    I like the soundtrack. It fits with the sneakiness, swiftness, and cuteness of the mysterious cat.    … Expand

    Beautiful from start to finish a no brainer for anyone with ps plus extra and premium. On the shorter side at about 6 hours with your first play through but can be about ten after going through and wrapping up trophies. Overall enjoyed the fluid gameplay and puzzles and was pleasantly surprised with the characters and story along the way.

    One of the best games i've ever played. It's a masterpiece of it's kind. Great story, great characters and enough gameplay for it to not get boring. What an amazing experience.

    I’m a dog person through & through, but Stray has me wanting a little kitty of my own since completing it! This game is seriously too cute to handle at times. I really loved my time with Stray even if it was painfully short lived.
    This game is gorgeous on PS5 & fully takes advantage of the Dualsense controller in masterful ways. I love the dedicated meow button too, instant 10/10.     This game is gorgeous on PS5 & fully takes advantage of the Dualsense controller in masterful ways. I love the dedicated meow button too, instant 10/10. Leaping around obstacles as a cat while causing some mischief here & there never got old. The level design is really something special, the sound design & soundtrack help add layers to it as well, I really loved the ambience of Stray’s OST. The game also tends to go into horror-lite places at times & it was honestly more effective than some of the actual horror games I’ve played recently! I didn’t expect a cat game to have an engaging story but we did get one with a lot of intrigue & lingering questions. I was invested in the characters even with the short time they got to shine.
    The main downside to Stray is sadly the same complaint most people had with it, the short length is a real detriment. While there’s only so much you can do as a cat in a cat video game, I truly wouldn’t have minded a few more hours of doing whatever cats want to do, that’s how enjoyable the gameplay was to me. I really hope the developers take what they did right here & take some of the criticism to build a truly great sequel, if that’s possible. I have too many questions with the subtle story & a creeping need to play as a cat again.
    Overall I‘ll be fondly reminiscing on my short time with the little Stray & their robot companions for a while to come.    … Expand

    Great game, the unique premise enforces the already brilliant narrative and world building that has been established by bluetwelve studio. The pacing is on point; keeping me consistently hooked in the surprisingly engaging story that had been developed - however this did cut the game short of what it truly deserved.     Add an Amazing soundtrack to a moving Story with Classic Cyberpunk themes, and you get One of 2022's best games so far.

    I almost never post reviews but I just finished Stray and feel compelled to yell from the rooftops about how good it is. I can safely say that Stray is the first game that left me feeling completely fulfilled so far this generation. It's that rare game that actually gets better and better as it goes along. Little details that start off as just cute cat stuff evolve into actual gameplay mechanics. Sure, simple ones, but it's cleverly done regardless. The world building is Miyazaki level good and you end up forming emotional attachments to the various buddies you meet along the way to the degree that there is genuine sadness when you say goodbye. I'm so sick of 100+ hour games that are good for 15 hours and then expect you to be engaged with their bug ridden mediocrity for another 75 for no reason other than to scratch some obsessive completionist itch. I took a slow and methodical approach to Stray, soaking in the world and trying to see everything, and I finished in less than 10 hours feeling satisfied and wanting more, rather than feeling resentful at it for being a time sink. This is straight up a 10/10 for me and I really hope the industry learns from it and we get more 10 hour games like it, with as much depth. I feel completely comfortable going so far as calling it a masterpiece.… Expand

    It's literally one the games that you could call them "little diamonds" and when I see one, I start playing them from start to finish. I enjoyed it like I would enjoy a great little adventure with good friends. Too bad that it doesn't have a big replayability score (like side quests and more things to discover) but I am surely gonna play it again in the future.

En primer lugar, esto es lo que debería ser un juego independiente, Stray es realmente una obra maestra, aunque me llevó alrededor de 6 horas terminar el juego, me hubiera gustado que durara más, pero considerando que, como se mencionó, es un juego independiente, tiene sentido.

    Ahora, me gustaría mencionar algunos puntos en los que creo que el juego podría mejorar:

    El juego dura alrededor de 5-6 horas si lo juegas de manera relajada, aunque puedes terminarlo en 2 horas o incluso menos, sé que, sé que es un juego independiente, pero han hecho un trabajo tan increíble aquí que ¡quiero más!

    En algún punto del juego, B-12 se siente como el personaje principal, no es que esto sea algo malo, pero puede resultar confuso quién es realmente el protagonista después de todo.

    Los saltos son imposibles de fallar, no puedes equivocarte en un salto, literalmente, no puedes.

    Me gustaría un poco de combate, no hay ninguno, en la vida real los gatos pelean, pero en el juego parece que el gato es doméstico, y el nombre del juego dice lo contrario.

    Ahora me gustaría destacar lo que amé del juego:

    La historia se cuenta de manera perfecta, se te da suficiente información sobre lo que le ocurrió a los humanos y por qué estás donde estás.

    El movimiento del gato es justo como debe ser, se siente bien.

    El comportamiento del gato es preciso.

    Gracias por el botón de maullido.

    Los gráficos son sorprendentes, para ser un juego independiente, los gráficos superaron mis expectativas.

    Me gustó cómo los robots eran tiernos con el gato.

    Unlike what a lot of people have been saying, this game is not just for people addicted to cats and cat memes. Behind all the cat-ing and memes, hides a pretty interesting game.

    Surely being in control of a cat, with everything that comes with it such as meowing repeatedly, breaking stuff, pushing stuff off tables, and overall being annoying, is a big part of why the game is fun, but    Unlike what a lot of people have been saying, this game is not just for people addicted to cats and cat memes. Behind all the cat-ing and memes, hides a pretty interesting game.

    Surely being in control of a cat, with everything that comes with it such as meowing repeatedly, breaking stuff, pushing stuff off tables, and overall being annoying, is a big part of why the game is fun, but the setting and the story are actually very interesting, even the robot characters are very charismatic and the world feels very much alive.

    The exploring and "parkour" are not as free as people could be expecting, but the limitations actually make it so the game flows well and you wont be getting angry you missed a jump and fell, or something like that.

    Definitely give this game a try if you want to have some cat-sual time in a dystopian future.    … Expand

    Questo gioco ha una cura maniacale e un ottima grafica molto realistica nella direzione artistica eccellente. Ho concluso il gioco in una singola Run. Ha un racconto suo un modo di porsi con uno stile particolare. È stata una breve esperienza e all'avanguardia. Adoro il Gatto rosso protagonista. Merita Stray il Goty altro che Elden Ring.

    Solides Spiel mit einer tollen Geschichte. Das Gameplay macht wirklich Spaß. Für ein Indiespiel ist das wirklich eine tolle Arbeit, da steckt viel Liebe drin. Sollte man mal gespielt haben, auch wenn man keine Katzen mag ;)

Graphics wise not impressive TBH, however the storyline and replayability is where it makes mistakes, those mini missions for example some of them are just forgettable just like8.5/10 pretty good enviroments, sounds/soundtracks, movement/response, full of details, easter eggs all over the place, some retro vibes as well, graphics not impressive tbh but its an indie, is understandable.     An absolute delight. The world is gorgeous, full of detail, color and character. Even though the dialogue was text-based, the story was still interesting and I was very much invested until the emotional ending. Gameplay isn't perfect, but still well designed and well paced. This one stayed with me after the credits, it meant something to me, and I'm really not a cat person.

    C’est exactement ce que j’attendais de l’expérience Stray. Voir même mieux quand on se rend compte de son statut d’indé français. Le chat, le lore, l’ambiance, la musique, la durée de vie (non ce n’est pas trop court pour un papa gamer de 3 enfants!) l’ambition ou la narration. À part un mode photo, TOUT est là, tout est juste, tout est beau, respectable, parfois même bluffant (animationC’est exactement ce que j’attendais de l’expérience Stray. Voir même mieux quand on se rend compte de son statut d’indé français. Le chat, le lore, l’ambiance, la musique, la durée de vie (non ce n’est pas trop court pour un papa gamer de 3 enfants!) l’ambition ou la narration. Riesce ad immetterti in una città distopica completamente abitata da robot che, pur sembrando super intelligenti e senzienti ed emotivi, con un gatto randagio finito per caso in una vecchia città abbandonata in cui l'umanità è misteriosamente estinta. Forse è ripetitivo, ma a me è piaciuto un sacco! Voto diesci

    I love the original idea, controlling a cat for the parts that matter actually feel like controlling a cat and the mechanics are simple enough, this game really is for anyone. Not very long but from start to finish it’s well put together narratively and by level design. Art design is very cyber punk and unique and the game lore is pretty neat. Enjoy this one!

    Quick background on me the reviewer, I tend to like single player games that is heavy on narrative the most. I also play a lot of racing games and use to play multiplayer games in my high school days but now that it's hard for me and my friends to find a good time to link up so now I hardly play any.     I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this game and the story was touching. I think the length was just right since this game didn't have to many features so any longer than 8hrs, I probably would of got bored.

    I was able to play this game for free so I'm not sure how much they are charging for everyone else. If it's more than 30 dollars I would hold off until it goes on sale due to the length.    … Expand

    Um ótimo jogo Indie. Stray é um dos exemplos de como uma iniciativa simples pode surpreender parte do público gamer, a profundidade da história e as mecânicas do game fez eu me sentir jogando um grande Triple A. Incrível, parabéns a Annapurna. Ah! Não é apenas um simulador de gato.

    To be honest. I expected just a little more from this game. I’ll admit the art style is incredible, however that doesn’t cover this game’s flaws. The game reuses a whole lot of dialogue options and not to mention, it lacks any characters for you to care all that much about except the cat.

    Dont get me wrong this game very cute but the problem is that the game never really sticks to one mechanic and most of them feel really unpolished. especially the janky platforming. but if you like cats doing cat things then I think you will probably like like this game

    Stray is by no means a bad game. It stars a world built excellently and a soundtrack that kept me interested. My main issue with the game is there feels like there is no trust in the player to experience the game in the same way a Journey or Abzu would be experienced.     Beyond that, this game feels weirdly unfinished. A lack of animation for simple things like putting on a robe, walking up stairs, and rounding corners (and other weird cat bugs) had me scratching my head. I also thought it was odd how many people (robots) were willing to lay down their lives for a stray cat.
    5/10, pretty middle of the road game for me. When the dust settles and people start seeing this game for what it really is, I have a feeling a lot of people will agree.    … Expand

    It has great visuals and has a good cat character rig. It looks and sounds good, I just don't think it's very fun. With how simple the platforming and puzzles were, it felt like a walking sim, which I am not a fan of; so I found this game rather boring.

    Un Juego que poco a poco te sumerge en la vida de este gato que vive en un mundo postapocalíptico, con una buena jugabilidad y por medio de ingenio hay que abrirse paso por diferentes escenarios. Una buena trama, lamentablemente quizás es demasiado corto para lo bueno que es.

    It is a good game and also cute to play the cat, but cats navigate with their noses and smells, but here you can't use the marking personal smell of a cat. And what do i need the light for, cats can see in the dark.

    very good game. It's kind of astonishing and refreshing how much story the game manages to tell during this rather short experience. No tedious grind, no boring fetch quests to artificially extend the length of the game. Despite playing as a cat and being limited in what your character can do (and say) the story is very deep and touches upon important issues. The graphics are very solidvery good game.     This game would have been good if it was called Hound and was about a dog instead of a cat. Everyone knows that dogs are better than cats, we saw them win in Dogs Vs Cats 3: Civil War. Stupid cats. I hate cats, except Garfield, he is cool

    No he jugado la versión de PS5 sino la de PC, es uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado en la vida. Su banda sonora es encantadora, los personajes son originales y les tomas mucho cariño, visualmente es increíble, la jugabilidad es tremenda y única... Por último quiero añadir que es el primer juego que me ha hecho llorar, y por si no fuera poco en dos ocasiones. La única desventaja que leNo he jugado la versión de PS5 sino la de PC, es uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado en la vida.     let's be honest, the story is quite linear and something you could think of in an afternoon, but the atmosphere alone can leave you trapped, exorbitant camera shots, practically you want to capture everything... it has its bugs. Once I left my cat floating... despite that it is good to be chilled playing it

I do have a few quibbles with their central hook that you play as a cat, but they nailed it a lot more than they failed at it. If playing as a cat appeal to you, then this game is very satisfying at the playing as a cat thing.

    What I wasn't prepared for was how clever the level design was, and how heartfelt its simple story is. The game is not long, my playthrough lasted seven hours and I did almost everything, but it packs a punch for such a short and simple game.

    The game includes no real combat, and the kind of semi-combat there is in the game, shooting the zurks with the lights from your drone, is kind of simple and repetitive, but the game nails both the cat experience, and the fun of exploring and solving puzzles so well that its flaws seem very minor. Of course, not all games are for everyone, and if you are the kind of person that thinks a 5-8 hour game is too short, or needs there to be combat in a game, then you should probably skip this one, but if you are drawn into the game by just the idea of being able to play as a cat, you'll be surprised with how much more this game has to offer.    … Expand

    this game is wonderful, all limitations of being indie have been broken.     Absolutely stunning! I haven't felt this warm and fuzzy about a game since Journey. The only negative I can say about Stray is that it ends, I want to keep exploring forever. Thank you to everyone who thought it would be cool to make a cat sim, cause you were right!

I find myself skipping dialog in a lot of games but in Stray I was actually excited to read what the NPCs had to say. There's a lot of Easter eggs/references to find.     If you are allergic to cats, hate mystery, exploration and a good atmosphere in video games, don’t play Stray. Otherwise, you’ve probably already beaten it. It’s a rare occasion to get a title such as this. And if it looks like something you might enjoy, that’s likely because you most surely would.

    Stray makes the most of its choice of protagonist early on, really allowing you to do all the things a typical cat would do, though it eventually loses sight of that in favour of spotlighting the short story. That’s no cause for hissing, though it does leave the overall experience feeling somewhat like two kittens from different litters forced together. The combination works better than it should, but we’re ultimately left wondering what could’ve resulted if either half of the game had been given enough space to stand alone. [Issue#18, p.70]

    It sounds ridiculous. And maybe it is. But the first ten minutes of Stray broke our heart. We’re a soft-boiled egg when it comes to animals, even when they're completely fictional. A cat who loses his friends and then gets hurt? Enough for an intense feeling of sadness and pity. It is not the challenge, but the experience that is key in this game. You really play Stray for the atmosphere. And that's exactly right.
