In other words, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a game that’s an absolute joy to play. Exploring these worlds, slicing through enemies, customizing how Cal looks, uncovering the game’s lore: it’s all done perfectly here, in a way that should appeal to anyone, regardless of their familiarity with Star Wars itself (though being a fan probably helps). There are minor flaws, to be sure, but they’re so minor, they feel like nitpicking. In a year that’s already featured some outstanding games, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor still manages to stand out.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and would recommend it to anyone who is remotely a fan of the Star Wars universe, whether they're getting exposed to it for the first time or are of a certain age and have loved it since they heard Luke Skywalker whine about power converters decades ago. Respawn is onto something here, and I've low-key been waiting — wishing — for Cal Kestis to show up in one of the upcoming shows or movies. These games have made that kind of impact, and I'm looking forward to where the story goes next.

Cal Kestis journey continues in a great action packed adventure full of challenges, combat and puzzles.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a very good Star Wars adventure with strong characters, varied locations but somewhat fickle technology.
  5. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has managed to build on the first game and made the combat much more enjoyable and fluid with the Stance system. On the other hand, it could have been really great if there were some content to support the feeling of exploration besides cosmetics.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a step up from its predecessor and brilliant fun, as long as you don’t let that collectible-obssessed plunderer take hold of you. It is not a narrative masterpiece, nor is it the most engaging action game in the world. But it does nothing badly, and excels where it matters. It represents the Star Wars universe accurately and places emphasis on the aspects of it that keep even jaded Andor-lovers like me interested in the IP, even after all this time. An obvious recommendation to Star Wars fans, and a hearty thumbs up to anyone else that may be even remotely interested.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor does so much right in continuing Cal Kestis' story, delivering the best lightsaber combat in a game to date along with some huge environments to explore. Sadly it's also launching with a bevy of technical issues and frame-rate problems that will provide the worst experience for early adopters. Players deserve better.

They will fix the glitches and all the other things people are saying but WOW....this is just insane. I am 6 hours in and the eye candy of this game is something to witness. At one point I thought : Do I need to upgrade my TV for this game!" LOL. Play it or wait for the patch but I am enjoying the sheer fact that i am playing part 2 to this franchise and its something to experience. Hits all the check marks for me and the patch will be a nice adjustment! Expand

THE best Star Wars game in a very long time, I daresay since Force Unleashed. Expand

Started playing from day one of release and gradually saw performance improve with new patches.
Unfortunately, it's still hard to call it a pleasant gaming experience, and if it weren't such a long-awaited sequel to a game that I deeply liked, I'd prefer to start playing it only a couple of months after.

The combat system, gameplay, size and detail of the world are impressive. Perhaps the only thing in these aspects that was a disappointment, it's a few planets.
Only one or two large and several small ones.
When you travel through this large area at the beginning of the game, you are sure that there will be many different, large, open territories as on this planet, but alas. In fact, this is our main place of action and all other places becomes smaller and smaller.

The other disappointing thing was the plot. It's fine, but it's catastrophically short.
Actually, you'll get really great action, plot twists, cinematic events and story advancement, but in the last 10% of the game.
Except for the first hours of a fairly good story set-up, 90% of the time you will have one single goal, the MacGuffin, the Sacred Land. Information, leads and clues about which you will search for the entire game.
I can’t say that it’s completely bad, because in the process we visit a lot of pretty locations, fight various enemies and, in general, enjoy good gameplay.
But the plot, as such, is simply on pause for most of the game and moves by a bit only occasionally and in the end.

The ending itself left mixed feelings because on the one hand it tries to be complete, but without any final statements, on the other hand it leaves an infinite amount of space for any possible number and type of sequels.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this game is an insult to us all. Playing on a PS5 in performance mode and the game still stutters, character is constantly ghosting. Textures flashing or blurred. This game should 't have been released as it is right now. 4 point because otherwise i like the story so far. Expand

One thing I didn't expect it's that it's mostly a parkour game, something that I don't enjoy even when the camera, controls and frame-rate aren't working against you. Here, sometimes, a jump will simply not work or, thanks to a movement of the camera, go in the wrong direction.
Fights are silly. It's mostly parry-and-dodge-until-you-can-land-a-hit. Sometimes though your dodges will not work.
The story is childish and a lot of dialogues make me think I'm playing a six year old being praised for no reason. Being an adult, if feels insulting.
Graphically, it's OK when it doesn't glitch and the music is OK. That' s the reason I'm giving it a 3 and not a 1.
