The game finally got patched on PS5 and made playable.

Gotta say, it is indeed the best Star Wars game ever created. The gameplay is fun and the story is intriguing.

Now that the game has been patched, I can recommend it.

    * there are still some minor bugs that need fixing, but nothing too major nor game-breakibg.

It's a game I wanted to like, but the performance is a joke and the story isn't as good as the original, newly introduced characters with a twist aren't as interesting as built-up ones, this series seems like it'll be one-off slightly connected stories

So, I was extremely excited to see everything new that this game had to offer and it didn’t disappoint. Many things have been added or expanded upon from its predecessor and are mostly worthwhile additions. It adds more enemies and abilities, a huge main world to explore, side quests (rumors), challenges, an immensely fun mini game, and more. Holotactics is now one of my favorite mini games ever. You also get an outpost to interact with and recruit intriguing NPCs to. This game also has one of the coolest action sequences that I’ve ever played through (when you escape the Pilgrim Sanctuary with Merrin).

This game has some flaws though. First, the beginning of the plot feels like happenstance, more so than I can recall in any other game. No spoilers, but is Cal the luckiest Jedi in the galaxy? Also, the villain’s motives seem naive and are not fleshed out enough. Second, you obtain some gadgets very late in the story, which slightly discourages exploration, even after 25+ hours. Last, sometimes the controls are unresponsive and there are minor glitches that caused me to restart the game (R1 button not working, couldn’t change stance, or couldn’t cycle targets.)

Combat in this game was slightly frustrating too. I played on Jedi Master (Hard mode) difficulty, for context. The ranged enemies are irritating. Whether, attacking them or deflecting their shots back at them, they are highly evasive. The targeting controls are messy, so when targeting someone, if I get attacked, the game will switch targets. There was also one instance where I had an enemy trapped in a corner and he dodged all of my attacks, despite my lightsaber clipping through his body. Finally, some mini bosses have one hit kill attacks (not present in Fallen Order), which adds another level of frustration.

I personally enjoyed Jedi: Fallen Order slightly more. I found it to be simpler and better paced. The vast amount of combat options in this game is frankly overwhelming and unnecessary. And, maybe the story could have been told better. Regardless, this is an amazing sequel that I still highly recommend. The plot gets pretty dark towards the end and I can’t wait to see the payoff in another entry. - 8.5

When you take control of an enemy to make them fight for you, they are still more likely to attack you than your opponents, meaning you just wasted time and force for nothing, and made the fight harder for yourself because you don't expect to be hit from behind and you waste health. The game feels empty, with large sections of mindless parkour followed by more mindless sections, but this times filled with a ton of enemies the size of your foot, but somehow do half your health bar with one hit on normal mode. And the parkour is extremely bad, as well as the puzzles. The puzzles are stupid, either because they are somewhere they shouldn't be, or because they make no sense. And the parkour is either mind numbingly boring, or its extremely hard to do because finding the path is like finding Waldo. If you aren't 2 inches from your screen, it can be easy to overlook slightly differently shaped pieces of rock, meaning you can be stuck on one jump for minutes because the game designers don't know how to distinguish between background textures and important-pieces-to-the-puzzle textures. And for some reason, you can lose hours of progress at once for no reason, and the game will just spawn you in at a random meditation point you visited. Afterwards, the ride-able creatures will float in the air, or rubber-band around when you are riding them. This game came out almost half a year ago, and yet t major bugs like this are still in the game. It is a waste of money to buy, because they clearly don't care about making an actually engaging and enjoyable story and world. They just want your money. But hey, pay them like 20 extra bucks, and you can get a few free skins and colors you can use if you want, even though they don't look much different than the other skins you can unlock. I haven't really noticed the performance issues the others are dealing with, but it does sometimes get really bad for no reason, just not enough to be an issue for me. Expand

I would even put this game on the level of God of War Ragnarok, if it wasn't for two important issues. First, the game is still not optimized performance wise even after all the patches (and it already got it's share of review bombing here for this). At the moment on PS5 it's not game breaking any more, but you can often feel the substantial frame rate drop even on performance mode. And second, while the combat is really nice, it is not at the level of God of War or Sekiro, it's not very diverse and the skill tree is not very useful, there's little variety in moves even with the different available stances. However, overall it's a great game and if you are a fan of the Star wars universe it is definitely a must for you. Expand

Better installment than Fallen Order in every aspect..by the time I got to play it, it was patched up, and I experienced much fewer bugs than those who played on day 1. Open world suits the game, but I preferred the more linear metroidvania style. That's me. And I'm not a fan of soulslike games or combats. That's me again.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a game that truly stands out and could very well be a strong contender for Game of the Year 2023. Playing it on the PS5 was an absolute delight, as the game took full advantage of the console's power and capabilities.

From the very beginning, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor managed to capture the essence of what it feels like to become a Jedi in a video game. The gameplay was immersive and engaging, making me feel like a true Jedi as I wielded my lightsaber and used the Force to take on enemies. The introduction of Stances added a whole new layer of depth to the combat, giving me more options and strategies to use in battles.

The visuals in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor were nothing short of breathtaking. The environments were beautifully rendered, and the character designs were on point. Whether I was exploring the vast landscapes or engaging in intense lightsaber duels, the graphics always managed to impress.

While the story of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor did a good job of picking up from its previous title, I couldn't help but feel that there was something missing. The narrative felt a bit empty at times, and the ending left me wanting more. Perhaps the developers were saving some surprises for future content, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the story could have been more fleshed out.

Despite this, the overall experience of playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was nothing short of phenomenal. The gameplay, visuals, and the feeling of becoming a Jedi all combined to create a truly memorable and enjoyable gaming experience. This is one of those few games that excel even when they drop a sequel, and it's a testament to the skill and passion of the developers.

It also offers a thrilling and challenging experience, much like a Souls-game. The difficulty level truly put my skills to the test, and I found myself facing formidable foes and intense battles throughout the game. It's not a walk in the park, but that's what makes the victories all the more rewarding.

The game's combat system, inspired by Souls-like games, requires precise timing, strategic planning, and a good understanding of enemy patterns. Each encounter felt like a true test of my abilities as a Jedi, and I had to adapt and learn from my mistakes to overcome the challenges that lay ahead.

While the difficulty may be daunting at times, it added a layer of excitement and tension to the gameplay. Every encounter with powerful enemies or intimidating bosses kept me on the edge of my seat, knowing that a single misstep could lead to defeat.

The comparison to Souls-games is not to be taken lightly, as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor truly lives up to the reputation of its challenging counterparts. It's a game that demands dedication and perseverance from players, but in return, it offers a deeply rewarding and satisfying experience for those who are willing to take on the challenge.

In addition to this, customization actually has its edge on its one. I prefer the customization value this game has given me. It made obsess on how Cal should look for every part of the game I am in. With that, It really made me explore the world even more to find materials, and other cosmetics the game can offer me. How I wish there is a Poncho!

In conclusion, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a must-play for any Star Wars fan or anyone who has ever dreamt of becoming a Jedi. The gameplay is engaging and varied, the visuals are stunning, and the feeling of wielding a lightsaber and using the Force is simply unmatched. While the story could have been more fulfilling, the overall experience of playing this game is one that will stay with me for a long time. If you're looking for an epic and immersive Star Wars adventure, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the game to play. May the Force be with you!

The lore and the music of the Star Wars universe is just fantastic but the bugs and glitches are still all over the place and it really breaks the game's pace and immersion. I'm getting constant framerate drops, clipping, popping and textures not loading (I'm playing performance mode). Quality mode is straight up unplayable, I don't even understand why it's the main setting of the game. On the "big red flag side" (especially since the game has been out for almost half a year now), I got crashes and game breaking bugs that forced me to completely restart the playstation. The map who also was a big issue in the first game still is really hard to understand. Lastly, transitions between gameplay in cinematics look awful and clunky wich is really weird because the game itself looks most of the time gorgeous. This game must've been a nightmare to play on release and it really pains me to say this because, bugs aside, it would've been a masterpiece.

Edit: After 100%, I have to drop my score. Way too many crashes and visual glitches. The main planet is not running smoothly at all. I cannot recommend playing the game in its current state. :(

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a much bigger game than before, with plenty of new moves, collectibles and characters to discover. The size of its open-world maps means it also lacks some of the variety of its predecessor, but there is so much to see and do that you'll likely not care one jot. Perhaps the most impressive aspect is how well fleshed-out the adventure is - better even than many of the TV series and films on which it is based. This is a blockbuster in the truest sense.
