Better installment than Fallen Order in every aspect..by the time I got to play it, it was patched up, and I experienced much fewer bugs than those who played on day 1. Open world suits the game, but I preferred the more linear metroidvania style. That's me. And I'm not a fan of soulslike games or combats. That's me again.

The lore and the music of the Star Wars universe is just fantastic but the bugs and glitches are still all over the place and it really breaks the game's pace and immersion. I'm getting constant framerate drops, clipping, popping and textures not loading (I'm playing performance mode). Quality mode is straight up unplayable, I don't even understand why it's the main setting of the game. On the "big red flag side" (especially since the game has been out for almost half a year now), I got crashes and game breaking bugs that forced me to completely restart the playstation. The map who also was a big issue in the first game still is really hard to understand. Lastly, transitions between gameplay in cinematics look awful and clunky wich is really weird because the game itself looks most of the time gorgeous. This game must've been a nightmare to play on release and it really pains me to say this because, bugs aside, it would've been a masterpiece.

Edit: After 100%, I have to drop my score. Way too many crashes and visual glitches. The main planet is not running smoothly at all. I cannot recommend playing the game in its current state. :(

The combat is just horrible. Parrying is very inconsistent and on jedi grandmaster sometimes the difficulty is lazily raised by just putting a ton of enemies in, getting you stun locked. Parries don't even give you a opening. It's mostly frustrating, not so much fun. Level design is pretty good, although alot of bugs and graphical glitches are still present.

While the game looks good and fun to play, there are several flaws to address that can't be omitted.
It's very fast paced, encouraging the player to move forward and advance rapidly; However, at many times you can get lost due to poor design and the holomap doesn't help that much.
Gameplay is very linear and repetitive, it's always the same premise : You land in a planet, given a task

Gameplay is very linear and repetitive, it's always the same premise : You land in a planet, given a task to complete: go to point A, where you'll have parkour, then fights, then parkour, then fight, then parkour and finally, usually an end level Boss fight.
Puzzles are pointless and boring, almost feel like a waste of space and time.

Graphics look nice, however one'd have expected a little better since now the crossgen period is over, being released only for next gen consoles.

Work bench feels empty... Should have been more variety of items or something... Damn. Vendors too are kinda useless, buy a haircut ? Enemies are too Disney, too tuned down, not visceral enough.

Opportunity lost here to expand, innovate and its a big let down. The addition of Npcs standing around like cardboard signs saying irrelevant stuff was a mistake. I liked the first game more so I can't give the passing grade here.

    No checkpoint for story bosses
The game added two new stances into the game and like all other stances they each have a purpose, one is more ranged focused and one is more damaged focused.
Difficulty in this game can be pretty challenging, and by challenging I mean unfair as hell especially on the harder difficulty. there are some enemies that can one shot you at full health with all upgrades such as the mobu and rancor.
The game feels more of a dodge/parry fest especially on higher difficulty and same with normal, its something you need to get used.
In two cases, be careful when fighting story bosses with multiple phases and by the way theirs no checkpoints between the phases at all.
The collectible grind is really really really bad. they have overpopulated just like a classic open world game with collectibles that don’t make sense unlike echoes and lore dumps.
Only Echoes and lore are important for lore reasons.
Stances are unlocked automatically via story progression.
Customization is a strong suite in this game to the point where its really fun but you need to collectible grind the heck out of the game to even find the piece you want, I just believe its just not worth the hassle for the average consumer.

    Story 2.0
The story with this game feels like a solid entry, nothing game of the decade worthy but a pretty solid entry that you will enjoy.
There are amazing moments in the game but I don’t want to spoil anything.
I would say I enjoyed fallen order better story wise because it was a new adventure vs this game.
The side quests were more of a fetch this person to unlock x and bring them here not that many in totality.
Bounty Hunter Side Quest Was/Is a good part of the game.
There is a time jump between fallen order and jedi survivor in which they released a book on some stuff that has happened like how someone suffered that injury. I would’ve liked to have some sort of lore in the game to explain that in some shape or form. It just makes you feel lost on what happened.

    Music 2.0
The Background music fit really well in the overall totality of the game. It didn’t feel grating and it just fit.
The special scene music sections felt okay and good but nothing memorable as far as I can recall that just sticks out, which sucks honestly.
The audio balance issues in this game from the start are an issue. I had to lower the actual music and sfx to a very low level to actually hear the dialogue. Dialogue should always take precedence and lower other type of music.
Dialogue should take precedence then Sound effect music then music.

Performance 0.5 – only because its playable
The performance of this game is very atrocious, the only reason this stayed on the digital store fronts is because it was/is barely playable with minimal crashes (I Had three of them in which one set me back collectible griding about an hour).
This game is cyberpunk 2077 launch condition level of bad. 30 fps(frames per second) felt like I was watching someone doing their PowerPoint presentation and 60 frames per second felt like I was scrolling through my photos on windows.
Ray tracing is being forced on consoles for some reason which is causing the frame rate to take a massive dump.
The game doesn’t even run at 1080p (source is Digital Foundry) on both modes, how can mess up that badly.
Ray tracing in general requires a beefy computer, what we are experiencing is an attempt of raytracing that most games on consoles that have it will not be true raytracing unless they use it in select areas or you’re a wizard at game development (insomniac with ratchet and clank rift apart). True Raytracing requires a very powerful GPU hence we will prob see it in the next generation not this current gen'
Just like gameplay is the king of gaming, performance is the queen and this game sacrificed their queen for some reason
    .
    In Conclusion
Jedi Survivor has a pretty decent to good story, gameplay, and music is worth to play it once the performance get fixed.
Jedi survivor would feel like an 8/10 game without the performance issues but sad to say.
The game sits at a barely passable 6.5/10 because of the performance was horrible.

The story was exciting and kept me in the game. The gameplay could've been better; next-gen-only games should not have performance issues. The mechanics were good, like the unique different takes on the gameplay and characters—definitely some character development.

Gameplay is average, visuals are decent, and exploration is repetitive. The main issue is performance. Playing on PS5 with performance mode ON still only seems to reach 30fps AT BEST. I've had multiple crashes and game breaking bugs, and I'm reviewing 2 months after the game's release. Overall, it's an average game with some very glaring issues.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Jedi Fallen Order was a good game with certain issues but Jedi Survivor fails as a 'next gen' game. Planets are bigger but duller. Their design is not as good and memorable as in Fallen Order, not to mention there are only 2 planets in Survivor but 5 in FO.

The slow ability is removed from the game and replaced with boring mind control (temporary alignment change of hostile AI to friendly). The slow is not used in puzzles and is only available in combat by activating the 'super meter' (basically cuckrage mode from GoW). Survivor introduces 3 new stances (5 in total) but only 2 can be equipped at the same time for some retarded reason. You can switch stances at mediation (save) points but hairstyle can be changed in the pause menu immediately, smh. The story is just a huge sequel bait and is based on nonsensical, lame circumstances (the protagonist falls into an ancient tomb containing long lost knowledge while going for a spare part in the basement — literally). Survivor introduces close to no new major characters, mostly antagonists (they all die, unsurprisingly), new good-guys characters all die in the prologue and are replaced with old characters.
Additionally, a very awkward, pushed and out of nothing romance is incorporated into the story. The devs decided to have a character, Merrin, go full blown edgy and deep 'Russkij akcent' that is so phonyaß and tryharded and unnatural as фак. It was much milder in FO and now my ears bleed from cringe.

Lastly, the game is technically in an abysmal state. Frames drop below 10 during lightsaber cutscenes, the game drops below 20 fps in large areas (even on performance mode), hardlocks, softlocks, crashes are common even 2 months post initial release.

Fallen Order wasn't perfect, it had performance issues as well (loading textures) but it had far better designed worlds and the story was built coherently, characters were utilized better.

Jedi Survivor is similar to Horizon Forbidden West with its story - unrelated to the prequel, based on nonsense, mary-sue character saving the world, pointless characters, heavy sequel baiting; and to A Plague Tale Requiem with its 'cinematic experience' gameplay and performance issues.
While Survivor may not be as disappointing for me as these two games, it's technically in an unpresentable state right now.

The story doesn't make a lot of sense, but maybe it's because I didn't play the previous game. I've considered just deleting the game from my hard drive, but I keep hoping maybe the game will grow on me at some point.

It's not a good feeling to load up a game, and then five minutes in, I'm already debating on whether I want to spend anymore time playing it.

Maybe you just have to be a huge Star Wars fan to appreciate the game. It isn't doing it for me, however.,

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a much bigger game than before, with plenty of new moves, collectibles and characters to discover. The size of its open-world maps means it also lacks some of the variety of its predecessor, but there is so much to see and do that you'll likely not care one jot. Perhaps the most impressive aspect is how well fleshed-out the adventure is - better even than many of the TV series and films on which it is based. This is a blockbuster in the truest sense.
