    I’m giving this game a 4 out of 10 at the current moment because I cannot force myself to play this game in the current state that it is in. Constant screen tearing and performance issues galore make it unplayable. EA sticking to their motto once again in “just wait for the patch”, or in this games case “patches”.     Where do I even begin? I really wanted to love this game. I loved the first one and had high hopes for the sequel, and the game started off pretty well. It has a great first act and seemed to be everything that was promised. There are new stances, a plethora of customization choices for your lightsaber and Cal’s outfit. The cinematography, voice acting, script and story have continued to be above average and are this game’s primary strengths. Unfortunately, they do not make up for this game’s many, MANY shortcomings in almost all other areas.

    We should get the obvious issues out of the way; the ones everyone talks about: performance. This game runs abysmally. It really is as bad as other users have described. There was a huge red glad when I was booting this up for the first time. I was setting HDR and other settings and got the the performance or quality mode preset options. I’m not joking when I tell you that I laughed out loud when I saw just how terrible this game looked in performance mode. I joked with my girlfriend who was watching with me that it looked like a game from the ps3 era. It is sub-720p in performance mode. I knew this game had terrible performance issues so I had contemplated using performance mode but selected quality and a low frame rate because I just could not stand to play it in performance mode. The frame rate is terrible. It’s as bad as they say. Constant dropped frames, low rates, etc. in larger areas like koboh it is especially noticeable. And don’t ever go near water. The game cannot handle rendering water at all. Even a small waterfall will tank your frame rate into the teens. It is as ridiculous as it sounds. You would think that with such terrible performance issues that this game looks beautiful, but it absolutely does not. In quality mode with hdr on (which is broken), this game looks like a ps4 game. It doesn’t help that everything is muddy and so visual cues such as teleportation circles are hard to see. The game also renders wind terribly which is a big game mechanic in some of the areas. You can’t even tell where it’s blowing or what direction it pushes you. The bugs. Oh my lord the bugs. Every single area, every single action, every single story beat is affected by at least one. I was exploring the desert in Jedha and the sand on the ground in some parts were completely black like they couldn’t be rendered in the engine. Incredibly jarring. Falling off of handholds during platforming sections, dropping through the floor, animations bugging out and hitching. It’s all very jarring and wonky. Now we are getting into the game’s biggest issues. Yes, the previous issues were appetizers. This game is entirely too big. I don’t mean that in an assassin’s creed way. I mean there is very little to do and yet the map is 4-5x bigger than it has any reason to be. Every single thing in this game is preceded by inordinate amounts of time walking because the spaces are so huge and empty. For the life of me I cannot understand why there is this much walking and dead space. It is insane how much walking there is. There is no meaningful story information to be gleaned, as in companion dialogue etc. It is literally silent walking for far too long. By FAR, this game’s biggest issue it the combat. There are so many problems with it that it is hard to be inclusive of every one of them. This game is marketed as a souls like with (relatively) tight combat and design choices that emphasize this relation. Respawning enemies, meditation points instead of combat checkpoints, etc would all lead you to believe that the combat system is fair and yet it is far from it. The first game struck a balance between a lot of things such as enemy attack queueing, aggression, and unblockables. This game has thrown it all out of the window. Enemies spam unblockables, many of them mixups which have unreachable windows. Five enemies will spam unblockables on you at the same time while the others constantly shoot you with blasters stunning you. It is **** broken. A ridiculous amount of enemies in combat encounters coupled with terrible hit boxes and almost nonexistent punish windows make this the worst combat system I have ever played. I am not exaggerating. Not to mention the terrible frame rate exacerbating all of these issues. This is a solid pass. I wish I could tell more people not to buy this. It’s a huge letdown and hopefully enough people see this review and pass on it. The story is okay, it’s really nothing special. It is presented pretty well, but everything else is trash. Do not. Buy. I literally can't play this game because the poor performance is constantly ruining the experience. I had to stop on the second planet because I couldn't take these problems anymore and they were ruining my experience. Worst of all, EA and Respawn they promised a day one patch and so far (twoDon't get me wrong, the game's story is great.     Sub 720p in performance mode and still not achieving 60fps, all the while we have games like Horizon forbidden west, which looks just as good and actually runs at 60fps, and Spiderman, which has 60fps mode with Ray Tracing. EA outdid themselves with this release. Pathetic

    This game runs absolutely terribly in performance mode. I'm assuming quality mode does as well but I didnt buy the game to play it in 30 fps. I just cant deal with all the frame issues and screen tearing. This will be the first game I ever request a refund for and honestly Sony should pull it from their store.

    This would likely be a fun game that is close to being ruined by poor performance, bugs and, at times, unacceptable visual fidelity that leaves characters and scenery looking washed out and blurry (confirmed below 720P!). Not in the same the level of infamy as Cyberpunk at launch, but a very poor technical state currently. Hopefully, EA will address some of this via future patches.

    Merci EA d'avoir forcé la sortie du jeu... pour une aussi grande licence c'est une honte d'avoir un jeu aussi mal fini.

    Keine Ahnung wie das Spiel eine Durchschnittswertung von aktuell 86 erhalten konnte.

    Die Performance ist schon fast Alphastatus Niveau. Wie man die Entscheidung treffen kann, es so auf dem Markt zu veröffentlichen ist mir schleierhaft und eine Frechheit.

    Das Spiel hätte Top werden können. Vielleicht ist es das, in einigen Monaten.

Then at the end of launch day the development team issues a public apology....I mean a ridiculous excuse that addressed 1/3 of the paying consumers. They can now join the growing list of developers that can be expected to sell broken products with the promise of fixing it at a later date.

    HDR is unplayable at the moment, performance mode constantly stutters and can't hold 60 FPS. Mainstream reviewers barely mentioned the performance issues so I preordered it and obviously have been disappointed by another game that was released too early.

    1. The game is extremely bad (not optimized) on powerful hardware, it's bad! The developers have essentially released a "beta version" of this game;
    2. This game does not have support Russian language (the main language of international communication), it's a SHAME at all!
    Until the developers fix the two main problems, the rating will be low!
    I do not advise you to buy this game.

    In a galaxy far far away one day soon JS might be an 8 or 9... as it's as good as the original. But on ps5 (and pc) despite the publisher and co lies, blame and mis information...There is a large cross section of players / payers who have a broken game. Myself included.

    "Broken" and more accurately unfinished. Poor performance and more importantly an inconsistent frame rate which stutters in performance mode. With audio desyncing And cutscenes all over the place. Plus some hard crashes and broken quests. And ofcourse this all effects gameplay and storytelling...which is really good ...when it works...

    And if you're not having any issues and have a magical 60fps 4k version...then it doesn't mean others payers do too.
    And a simple Google video will provide 100s of legit issues by upset players...fans just like you.

    The above issues have Not been fixed by the mandatory day 1 patch. And all those physical media players who paid 100£€$ but don't have net access or room on their tiny ssd ...have bought a permanently broken mess! And I believe how full your ssd drive is effects this game or it did for me. But a 150gig with large patches means my 500gig free of a 800 gig ssd leaves me with few options. But no one seems to care about this.

    So imo there is no excuse on consoles for these issue... beyond the game was rushed out early. And we know that's a fact as ea released a pre-release statement acknowledging above issues etc.

    So this negative review is justified. All of this junk effects a review score. And yes the game crashes once a day to ps hub so and I've lost progress too. That isn't ok either. I refuse to encourage EA and co to keep treating customers in this anti consumer way. I will amend score as game technical issues improves.    … Expand

    While I was able to play through on the first planet (not counting the tutorial planet) and was having a blast, the second planet has been nothing but non-stop crashes. I am not joking, if I could go 10 minutes without crash, I would be over the moon. But instead, all I got was disappointment.

    EA, I am not your beta tester. I will be returning this in the morning.

Then there's the weird glitches, choppy framerates, crashes that, as annoying as they are, at least offer some relief from the boredom of the game. I'm surprised so many people like this game.     I am extremely disappointed. I have completed Fallen Order several times. I really love the Star Wars universe. And it was my most anticipated game this year. But unfortunately EA just abandoned the Russian-speaking players. The Playstation does not support mods and therefore, unlike the PC, there is no way to fix this.     Shame on EA for charging people money for this unfinished game. Beta testers shouldn't have to pay $90. I couldn't get beyond the launch screen when I tried to play this game. Maybe I will try again in a few months when they have actually finished developing the game, but probably not.

Even downgrading graphics or disabling RTX on PC or with Performance mode on PS5… almost    It is a disappointing game! Doesn’t give you an acceptable performance and makes the game so… sooo ugly. But you don’t have a choice either play at 30 fps at performance mode or 10 fps with fidelity mode.
    If you thought they make a bigger, better game, its not the case. They didn’t make it bigger, or not in a manner that counts. Maybe it’s part of the lore, but Cal is still the weakest jedi ever. Skill tree is kinda big, but you don’t need it. Doesn’t make you stronger because almost every low opponent can resist everything you throw at them. You only need and will be effective using parry and attack. Stances were a good idea to fight smart, but it doesn’t work either. You can’t equip then on the fly like Ghost of Tsushima. Some stances are too slow, that the simplest attack, makes you take a hit because every opponent has really fast attacks. Low enemies were actually harder and took longer to kill than bosses. The story is very predictable. The “open world” aspects its very affected by the performance…. Why would you want to explore this stuttering, low fps, blurred world?! Why bother earning exp to spend in the skill tree if it you only use parry and the force doesn’t work on 80% of the enemies?!
    If you like Star Wars or maybe liked the first game and will buy the game no matter what, buy it but wait a couple of months. If you play it now it will not meet your expectations.    … Expand

To make matters worse, this game doesn't even have online. That means there's no reason to keep this garbage on your PS5 once you beat the game. The developers were too cheap and lazy to give us a second disc for offline installation. All that massive GB only for the game to have performance issues. There are significant frame drops during cutscenes. This game crashed twice.

    The story is terrible. The dialogue is cringeworthy and so are the running animations. The gameplay is boring and repetitive. The physics are beyond horrible. The platforming is a joke. I tried jumping onto different platforms, only to be met with invisible walls and fall to my death. I shouldn't have to fail levels due to poor and lazy level design. Well at least you can fail the platforming sections, unlike the poorly designed arty-farty pieces of garbage that were the last two God of War games. Despite being a $70 next-gen only title, nothing in this game screams next-gen. The boss fights are terrible. The lightsaber customization is worthless. Why would I care about customizing a stupid stick piece by piece? The lack of a first person mode makes it even more pointless. How about these developers spend their time actually fixing their game instead of wasting resources on gimmicky features.

    As I mentioned earlier, there's no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $70 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. Let me put this in perspective. EA Battlefront 2 had a campaign, online and local multiplayer, first person mode, starships, and better graphics (that's embarrassing) for $60. Performance issues aside (yes even the ps5 version has consistent massive frame drops on quality mode), the story and combat were extremely lackluster, we get new characters with little to no development, a bad guy that was so forgettable I can't remember his name off the top of my head even though I just finished the main story 10 minutes ago (dago something?), and combat that feels very empty once you get the hang of just mashing square to break poise, dodging if the enemy turns red and blocking if they try a regular or ranged attack. Beyond the mediocre story and combat the level design is just so uninspired, yes there are really cool visuals and some parkour sequences that are enjoyable but otherwise it's just the same double jumping into dash with some climbing, wall running and hookshotting sprinkled in. Most of the shortcuts feel completely unnecessary, you will often get a shortcut and wonder why it was even needed at all, my guess is that this is mostly for people trying to get all the collectibles, but these weren't that appealing to me anyways. You will often pass by certain doors or objects that are unreachable until an ability is unlocked later on in the game (similar to GOW/GOW: Ragnatok in recent years), but the drive to return to these spots completely dies out once you realize it's all just for uninspired cosmetic items that do nothing to enhance gameplay in any way. The only cool items in my opinion were a few of the outfits and the lightsaber modifications, but most of the time you just ended up with a new colour pallette that you'll never use. Can't recommend this game, even if they do improve the performance. Do better please.… Expand

    Unfortunately, the poorly implemented combat system ruins the immersion that STORY mode would otherwise give the player.

    Respawn broke practically every cardinal rule for engaging combat in this design and the end result is a grueling, repetitious grind with little reward.

    1. Don't interrupt the rhythm and flow of combat with cutscenes. We know why we are fighting... no further exposition is required. All it does is drag the player out of immersion and interrupt their gameplay.

    2. If you do decide to interrupt combat with cutscenes, at least have the courtesy to keep the enemy target locked at the end of the cutscene. They were locked on when the player went into it... why do you keep disengaging lock after the cutscene? To give the opponent a few extra hits while the player waits for the abysmally slow response to input?

    3. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Jedi Fallen Order combat was fine. The parry system in Survivor might have been an acceptable change if it weren't so poorly implemented. When you combine the parry system with the erratic camera and the random target lock loss, it's just a horrible mechanic.

    4. In the end game, after the player has mastered every force power, stance, and purchased every perk, why are they still the weakest jedi that has ever existed? What exactly is the payoff for all the work the player puts into gaining these abilities if they are so weak that they are practically useless? Why does every single jedi in the game, even one who was in the same circumstances as your character, possess grand master level force abilities? Literally the only opponents you can willfully crush are stormtroopers... you know, the same ones you were crushing at the beginning of the game. There is practically no reason to gain skills because they hardly give the player any advantage at all.

    5. Where are the player's area of effect force powers? Why does every single boss fight have AoE, but at no point in the game does the player have the opportunity to earn similar or at least competing powers? Why is the combat designed to punish the player not for choices they make, but for choices they don't even have?

    6. Unblockable attacks. Sure, why not? Spamming unblockable attacks with follow-on melee attacks at twice the combat speed of the player... no. It is not fun in any way.

    7. Unblockable arena-crossing magnetic attacks. What is the purpose of dodging when every single dodge has to be timed to perfection to evade a crushing amount of damage? In the end, the player simply becomes a damage sponge who circles their opponent trying to dodge or parry in the hopes that they might get a few shots in every few minutes or so. Rather like whittling wood... except the player isn't playing a wood whittling game, they are playing a Star Wars game as a Jedi.

    I was really looking forward to this game, but from the get-go the combat was just so sub-par in implementation that at no point did I feel like a jedi. Boss fights were so repetitious and frustrating that at the end, I felt absolutely no sense of accomplishment... just the huge relief that I could get past that and on to the next part of the story, finish the game and uninstall it without looking back.    … Expand

This makes combat very dissatisfying compared to its predecessor. It could have been prevented by making the controls more accurate, immediate and yours. Then it would have been less frustrating and fair, comparable to Demon Souls f.e.
    The inaccuracy of the controls are particularly visible during the force tear challenges. Jumping, dashing etc is so inaccurate. Cables, ledges etc are missed despite clearly reaching them, so that these challenges become one long tedious trial and error frustration.     The biggest crime of this game isn't the performance. It's the fact that it's so ball-achingly boring. I'm about 15 hours in and losing the will to live. If you love exploring bloated open worlds, falling off things due to pedantic controls, and engaging in shallow combat, then you will adore this game.

    So poorly optimized. The stuttering and frame drops make the graphics look early ps3. The graphics look like an oil painting with fuzzy edges. I stopped playing after about 3 hours because I want to wait until the game is fixed so I can enjoy it properly.

    I really did feel okay with the story and the gameplay. Until I find I'm just button mashing the same enemy with a different skin. It's the same formula for every encounter. The bugs, the side quests, everything about this reminds me why I wait for a deep sale so these bugs can get ironed out.

    Manuel saves only is incredibly disrespectfull of users time. Around 2/3 trough the game my file breaks and becorse i am not allowed to manuel save I now have to start over.
    Insisting on autosave only adds nothing to the player exspirience. There is no good reason for this

    Story is great, gameplay is good, but the game is not a finished product. I been playing on the ps5, and all the distortion and glitches. Compared to other ps5 games in 4k, it's just terrible. Fix it Respawn! If I am paying $80 with taxes for a game, I expect it to be a $80 game. I'm going to finish the game before you fix all the issues.

    There is an amazing game hidden underneath a gigantic pile of bugs and performance issues. I'd recommend checking back in about a year before buying it, or you will not have the intended experience.

    Edit: Patch 6 came out after a month of radio silence, and it only seems to have made things worse. Lowering the rating to reflect that. Please don't buy the game until at least 2024.

I was stoked to play this game being the super fan of finally having a good starwars game like its predecessor and pre-ordered it the moment I was able to, going as far as to buy the deluxe edition. The day came to play my most anticipated game of 2023 and didn't understand what was happening as my eyes feasted on a low/choppy frame rate, awful mechanical and glitchy game.Unbelievable! I was stoked to play this game being the super fan of finally having a good starwars game like its predecessor and pre-ordered it the moment I was able to, going as far as to buy the deluxe edition. The day came to play my most anticipated game of 2023 and didn't understand what was happening as my eyes feasted on a low/choppy frame rate, awful mechanical and glitchy game. The story/writing is at least an 8/10, but I can't give the game as a whole anything more than a 3/10 from how frustrating it is to buy a brand new game and the mechanics ruin the whole experience. If there's another Starwars game, even WITH Cal, I'm going to hold my money until after the release so that I'm not screwed out of an experience like this. I hate you EA and hope all yall shut down soon.… Expand

Do you like adeptly performing parkour only for a cutscene to make your character stupidly fall or trip over their own feet. Do you like a game that makes you work for lack luster backstory details.

    The game and story are great but I can’t with good conscience rate this game any higher than a 2 because it’s broken. EA had no business to release the game in this state, they should’ve delayed it because it obviously needed more time to be polished. As gamers we need to start demanding complete games upon release, we vote with our wallets and all of us need to stop buying broken games.

He has one arm and uses the force I guess to make a fake arm? Like that’s just now a thing.. just randomly there 3 times and then poof! And Bode is even worse. Instantly knew he was either there to die in the beginning to give weight to some story beat, or he’d end up being some villain who betrays you.. when you have a character who is there from the beginning and you’re forced to blindly trust him you know he’s up to something. Also he has a very bland character design so you know he’s there for some random bland purpose. Bad story, boring characters and terrible canned Janky animations that you can’t cancel mid frame..and a buggy mess… Expand

I am writing this to let anyone know in the near future, who is even thinking about purchasing this game to serious RECONSIDER. This game needed so much polishing up, it's insane. I find it unbelievable, that they're charging individuals 70£ for this and it's filled with gameStar Wars: Jedi Survivor What is an incredible game, is pretty much heavily brought down by an horrendous launch. I am writing this to let anyone know in the near future, who is even thinking about purchasing this game to serious RECONSIDER. This game needed so much polishing up, it's insane. I find it unbelievable, that they're charging individuals 70£ for this and it's filled with game breaking bugs and bad performance issues. Performance mode doesn't even perform at 60FPS and has tons of stutter throughout the game. This in turns prevents focus during the action and has input delay. There is also a game breaking bug in regards to doing bounties. An important progression system that has cosmetics and weapons cosmetics tied to them, along with a currency system. This bug didn't even allow me to start the quest and tackle the necessary targets. It's a huge shame, because Jedi Survivor has the makings of a great saga, but all of thes issues kill any sense of enjoyment whatsoever. I beat the story, but I immediately dropped it straight after, because I do not believe my money was worth all the nonsense I went through.

    PLEASE do not buy this game guys. I am not saying it is bad, because it isn't, but EA and Respawn practically got away with our money and gave us a half baked product. WAIT FOR A YEAR, before you buy it. There are far more promising titles coming from trust worthy devs that will do right by their fans. Unfortunately, I will not buying anything from Respawn day one again. In fact, I know they've lost alot of costumers and future ones too, because of their incompetence. You've been warned.     Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a much bigger game than before, with plenty of new moves, collectibles and characters to discover. The size of its open-world maps means it also lacks some of the variety of its predecessor, but there is so much to see and do that you'll likely not care one jot. Perhaps the most impressive aspect is how well fleshed-out the adventure is - better even than many of the TV series and films on which it is based. This is a blockbuster in the truest sense.
