    I almost didn’t play this game because of the negative reviews from users. The game is not perfect, it has bugs and the story is laughable (almost in a cult classic bad way), but it’s one of the few coop campaigns that exist in 2023. Beyond that it’s like a GTA clone with a multiplayer campaign. Spent 5 hours playing yesterday with a friend and had a blast, we will at least beat theI almost didn’t play this game because of the negative reviews from users.     Don't understand the hate one bit. This is one of the best games released so far in 2022. The writing is not on the level of RDR2, but I never expected it to be. It's a Saints Row game for crying out loud. The gameplay is fun, a good variety of weapons. The new characters are actually interesting with deep backstories. The venture building can get a little repetitive, but not moreso thanDon't understand the hate one bit. This is one of the best games released so far in 2022. The writing is not on the level of RDR2, but I never expected it to be. It's a Saints Row game for crying out loud. The gameplay is fun, a good variety of weapons. The new characters are actually interesting with deep backstories. The venture building can get a little repetitive, but not moreso than gaining respect in SR2 to continue the story. There are bugs, but not anywhere near as close to Cyberpunk or AC Unity I have not encountered a single game breaking bug throughout my time with he game. I played 3-4 and this with the same custom boss which followed the voice actress (she is the same in all last games if you choose female voice 2) and it felt like a proper sequel. People forget in Saints Row 4 earth WAS DESTROYED and with Gat out of hell you did a hard reset on earth, so in a way, 5 makes sense, sorry, Saints Row 2022. The game is THE SAME as 3 remastered. The same grindy missions, the same endless killing, the same over the top set pieces, complete with a surreal one near the end which reminds us of the "housewife" matrix simulation in 4. What do I mean. Well, true Saints fans will understand. This game is a Saints Row game, from top to bottom. The same corny dialogues, being self aware, everything, along with the killing. The end battle is great, the showdown is great. This game is great. IF YOU KNOW SAINTS ROW. It is the SAME thing with the past ones. I honestly dont understand the reviews. The dialogue was ALWAYS like this. ALWAYS. These people make me wonder, have they EVER played a saints row? They think that is silly? Dude, Saints 3 ends with them being in a movie in mars.     I found the game very fun and I don't understand why there are so many bad comments about it, the game is very fun and light, full of action, the type of game that doesn't take itself seriously but it works well. Very good graphics and performance, good soundtrack, interesting open world, lots of possibilities for character design and full of side missions. [Shooting, racing, flying and more]

    It's a very good game. The story is okay, some characters can be annoying, but overall it's good. The map is very large and contains many interesting activities, the city is also very detailed. The best aspect of the game is definitely building a criminal empire, buying real estate and fighting other gangs. I recommend! 9/10

    The characters, which everyone seems to hate, are no where near as bad as people say. They're likeable, fun characters that sometimes make a joke or two that don't work but I found myself liking them more than any previous Saints Row characters.
    The cars and weapons are fun to use and their customisation is unmatched, as is the main Boss. The amount of freedom you have when creating your character is incredible, especially after the most recent update improved compatability with various clothing items.

    The story could have been better (and longer), but I didn't hate it. I wish the other gangs were more fleshed out and their leaders were given more time though.

    Overall, this game has recieved way too much hate and all of these 0/10 reviews are skewing the user score and making this game seem way worse than it is.    … Expand

    I don't understand the haters. Yes, the game, in my opinion, is significantly worse than the previous one, but it's still good, very big, and very beautiful. It's a good game, not the best, but we can ride motorcycles and even use a sort of parachute, so it's quite comprehensive. Overall, it's a good game. The story might be a bit lackluster, but that's about it because the missions are perfect.

    Don’t listen to all the **** kiddies. This game is great. No idea why they are review bombing it. There’s plenty of foul humor and insanity just like past games. I guess the **** children won’t be happy unless women are suffering as much as possible in the game. Ah well, incels will never be happy.

    I kinda like Saints Row. One, it always feels like there something fun to do. Two, the vehicles are really fun to use and get and the way you can customize them. Three, the character customization is good. There are 2 things that I have gripes about. The story feels like you can complete it pretty quickly, the last boss just sometimes feels unfair, and in the end game but I get a bitI kinda like Saints Row.     Definitely a must play, hands down the best in the series. It takes the sheer unabashed enjoyment of adrenaline fueled gameplay, amazing character creation, memorable characters and humor of the past couple of games and recognizes the darker tones of the first two and blends it into a firey Molotov cocktail that explodes with entertainment and fun.
    This game leans away from the eye-rolling    Definitely a must play, hands down the best in the series. Very tongue in cheek humour, that seems to poke fun at itself more often than not.     A lot of negative reviews about this one but as of writing (Jan 8 2022) it seems to be in a much better state. Still a few quirky bugs but far from game breaking or slowing down the fun in any way. Reminds me of playing GTA 5 online but without the annoying other players (no shade if thats your thing ). Id recommend the game to anyone who just wants to turn off your brain and play a video game.

I returned to Saints Row after not finishing The Third and IV, which are probably the worst ones for me because they were TOO MUCH random sh*t especially IV.     Now bugs, yes there are clearly bugs. BUT what I played was really not as tragic as some people put it, I don’t know if it was a bad early copy or not, but i didn’t encounter any real game breaking bugs, the most annoying bug i encountered was that the colors i set for some weapons would go back to default and blurry graphics.

    I hope Volition doesn’t give up, fixes the major bugs and brings great expansions. Under all the hate there is a good and fun game.

    And like I always say/do, never judge a game too hardly by its scores/ratings, it’s all mostly subjective.    … Expand

    The game is fun for what it is. It had a rough start.

    Experienced some small bugs... nothing really crazy! The only thing i find annoying are the texture loading/distortions on the bridges in the game.

    I haven't tested the latest patches that has more than 200 bug fixes.

The game was actually quite fun. Are there bugs? Yes. Are the characters blah? Yes. Is this something you've seen before? Yeah.     Amazing game does not deserve the hate I can’t put it down the gameplay is so snappy and satisfying the open world is very beautiful and entertaining it feels more rooted to the original Saints games it’s a great time definitely recommend!

    Decent game, the story is okay. It's not game of the year level but it is good. I feel it's getting alot of unjustified hate. My and my friend have been playing it non stop since launch and its not gotten boring yet. It has some bugs but not anymore that other titles do now days. Overall a good game.

    I absolutely love this game. I had to giggle more than once with the crazy stuff going on and it's a great game. I love it more than GTAV, I honestly don't understand the negative reviews, they must be playing another game? I love this game.

    To preface, I've beaten this game. I've 100%ed the map. I've experienced every mission and activity there is to do in this game, so keep that in mind.

    This game is worth a 7/10, but I'm giving it a 10 to counterbalance all the 0-1 reviews this game doesn't deserve. This game isn't bad. It's a competently designed but clumsily put-together Gen-Z Power Fantasy. The main thing this    To preface, I've beaten this game. I've 100%ed the map. I've experienced every mission and activity there is to do in this game, so keep that in mind.

    This game is worth a 7/10, but I'm giving it a 10 to counterbalance all the 0-1 reviews this game doesn't deserve.

    This game isn't bad. It's a competently designed but clumsily put-together Gen-Z Power Fantasy. The main thing this reboot does for the franchise is that it takes the story beats from the first 2 games and re-contextualizes them in a Millenial lens. When people complain that this game "wokified" the series, that's what they're talking about. When they're talking about "censorship," 4 things happened. The **** bats are gone, RimJobs and **** were renamed to JimRob's and FB's, and there are no prostitutes. If funny sex and hookers were what Saints Row was to you, then this game isn't for you.

    But that starts to be one of this game's problems, in a marketing sense. The Volition devs spent so much time away from the scene, just to more or less alienate their Hard-R Gamer audience by leaning left for its target audience. This is a necessary calculated risk for any modern AA studio, but in keeping everything else exactly the same they haven't really brought much to compensate for this loss. And that's why this game gets such a bad rep: the only unique thing they have to bring is the most controversial one.

    If you want to hear an actual review about this game, go watch Yahtzee's take on Zero Punctuation; he talks about how this game technically does so many things right but fails to deliver an engaging experience because it's so outdated and derivative to itself. If you're done with that, here are more things to say:

    The game is competently designed. When I say that, I mean the people who laid this game out on the drawing board knew how to design video games. The cutscene cinematography is good. The game systems are laid out well. The graphics are outdated, but the artstyle is fine, and next-gen graphics are severely overrated. The main characters are basically likeable. The writing works. The humor is fine. (I've played Borderlands 3, I know what bad humor and writing in a game looks like, and this isn't it. One key difference being that this game doesn't force you to sit there and listen to people talk before the game lets you play. All the cutscenes are skippable and the dialogue happens during active gameplay, so none of it is intrusive.)

    The issue comes with how all these designs are put together. The programming is embarrassing; I've run into so many obnoxious bugs in my playthrough every day. Clothes and weapons will randomly equip and unequip themselves. Sometimes cars will get stuck on nothing and explode. Sometimes no cars will load in at all. Combat just doesn't work as well as it should at all times. The in-game animations are boring and simplistic. Many side objectives are blatant padding. All of it is sure signs of a game that needed more time and better management, which is likely a luxury the studio just didn't have.

    In conclusion, this game isn't great. But it's playable, and it kills time well. I'd much rather have dealt with this game's **** than any live-service, online-only, subscription-model, you-don't-own-anything ass **** that every other company is pushing into the industry. This game has a kind of simple purity that comes from being from an older and, in my opinion, better time.

    A refreshing return to the glory days of open world gangster games like GTA San Andreas and saints row 1. The characters are likable and funny but certainly more dry and subtle than older games. I'm about 15/ 20 hours in and while there are a few bugs nothing game breaking or even too distracting. The characters are likable and funny but certainly more dry and subtle than older games. I'm about 15/ 20 hours in and while there are a few bugs nothing game breaking or even too distracting. I have found plenty to do and enough difference between activities to break up any monogamy. The world is a nice balance between big and open without being empty and huge for the sake of being huge. It’s one of those rare games where I was hooked until there was little content left. Yes, I skipped the collectibles, I’m not a masochist. This. Is. Not. GTA. Saints Row never has been, and never will be. Saints Row is the movie you put on when all your mates come over just because it’s fun to sit, watch, and have a good time with. There is humour here. There is also a ton of irony, which, to be fair, I believe a lot of people mistook as ‘woke’ism. The story isn’t half bad (not that anyone should be here for the story!), and the gameplay loop is a ton of fun. There’s a lot to enjoy here. If you want an epic all out blockbuster affair then you came to the wrong place, and that’s your fault. If you want fun with a ton to do. This is your game. To the devs. Great job.     Only a bug or two throughout the entire playthrough so either I'm really lucky or others are exaggerating. The characters were likeable, good customization options for you boss and ride, big city and different environments. I feel like the side quests could have offered a bit more variety or story but some were a lot of fun. If you liked SR4 then I think you'll probably like this one too.

    This is a great game. No it is not like the originals, but I have enjoyed every minute of it. The original story was obviously complete long before the 4th game. I have had a blast starting the Saints from the ground up.

    yeah it has bugs but look up what causes a game to bug aka it's not the developers fault therefore a game can not be judged on bugs and all bugs in this game are very easy to remove aka trying different routes going into the style app simply switching the game on and off etc there realistically nothing to give this game bad marks the game is fun and that's how games should be

    I am a saints row fan, I have enjoyed most of them. Even saints row 4 had some things that were good. This one is quickly becoming my favorite. It has laid a foundation for a great new series of Saints. I would give this game a 9 if the annoying bugs are fixed. Which will be anytime soon. Some of the bad reviews are just people upset that it's new people

    I personally enjoy this game. Its not what saints row used to be don't get me wrong but if you separate it from the rest of the franchise, which is what they have tried to do (not very well). It is a very good game.

    I haven't run into any glitches that people keep mentioning/bringkng up.

    Overall I'm enjoying my time with it.

    This has been an excellent game. Its a decent size map to explore with tons of collectibles discoveries and all sorts of different little things you can do you simply have to comb the desert.

    Yes, the gameplay may seem dated, and it’s a very formulaic Saints Row game. There is no real surprises in terms of gameplay. If you’ve played a Saints Row game, you know what to expect. Missions might be repetitive, but no more so than any other game in the series.

    There’s definitely a wide variety of activities, and plenty of secrets to discover throughout the world. I had fun taking over districts, and discovering hidden things around the map.

    I enjoyed the banter between the main cast, and thought that the story worked well enough for a Saints Row titles. Yes, these are the characters that we got to know in love in the previous titles, but I definitely don’t have any issue with this group. The jokes didn’t all land, but I was definitely amused by things that happened throughout the story. I did have a few bugs pop up here and there, but nothing major. Mainly just vehicles bouncing into the air after hitting small objects, and a weird issue with the camera inside helicopters. The second issue was easily fixed with a reload.

    Overall, I had a blast driving around the city, blowing things up, and being social with my crew. The game may not be for everyone, but make your own judgment - don’t listen to everything you hear.    … Expand

    After playing the game for a while and finished the story and still playing it it's still has few issues but this update made the game much better and people don't understand and you have to look thr older saints raw games like 1,2,3 and 3 remastered and this one was the best by far despite the issues but PEOPLE They HAVE A HIGH STANDARD FOR ANY GAMES AND you got to stop thinking this way

The tone is not quite as over-the-top ridiculous and wacky as The Third/IV were (though I loved them dearly forI’ve managed to get through most of the story, so I feel comfortable writing a review. The developers stated when they revealed that they were going for a mix between Saints Row 2/The Third, and I think they’ve managed to hit the nail on the head beautifully with this reboot. The tone is not quite as over-the-top ridiculous and wacky as The Third/IV were (though I loved them dearly for it), but doesn’t take itself quite as seriously as 2. This makes your time in Santo Illeso so addictive enjoyable whether you’re tearing through the story to get more time with the lovable cast of new Saints and other supporting characters, or just roaming the city looking for some trouble to get into. And there’s no shortage of things to get up to. Activities make their return in the form of “Criminal Ventures,” including old favorites (like my personal fav Insurance Fraud!) and some new ones, and give you plenty of ways to increase your influence and revenue stream. Additionally there are plenty of ambient activities, such as Hidden Histories, which gives the player a chance to learn more about Santo Illeso’s in-game history as well as pick up a few Easter eggs along the way ;).

    I haven’t run into any of the technical difficulties others are talking about, but I also haven’t been trying co-op or anything like that. Hopefully it’ll get patched up and into a playable state for everyone soon. The driving is okay—some of the vehicles don’t handle that great and there isn’t an off-roading option for everything (which as someone who mainly drives motorcycles, not a huge fan of). The wingsuiting controls are not very intuitive or smooth once you do get the hang of them. Minor nitpicks on an otherwise great game that’s been a lot of fun so far.    … Expand

    Yeah there are some bugs at launch but the past few years almost every game has had bugs on launch. Other then the bugs this game is pretty good and fun to play, reminds me of the SR3 days but more starting to build up your empire rather then being thrown into the leader roll

    Saints row has always been the wacky alternative to GTA. This game continues that trend. After the initial linear start of the game, you are off to start your criminal empire. This is where the fun begins. There is no shortage of activities to enjoy. Not without its bugs but plenty to do and a beautiful map to explore.

    So far I’m enjoying the hell out of this game. There are some bugs here and there but over all a solid experience. Co op is fun, glad the saves transfer over too. Definitely recommend for a fun over the top open world action adventure game.

    Very fun. No deep story, or revolutionary gameplay, just pure chaotic fun.

    This game is essentially Saints Row 3, with a little more polish and visual upgrade.

    I've seen many reports of game breaking bugs, but I've personally not encountered any, but your mileage may vary.

    If you loved Saints Row 3, you'll love this - just don't expect anything different.

I was concerned that this would lose the "charm" of the earlier entries but that Saints Row DNA is still there. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to using a tow line to turn enemy cars into wrecking ball behind my ride.

    i like this saint row and finally show the playable character nipples which gta is afraid to show her boobs. for gta fans who break balls in saint row come back to play gta v instead of writing here the next gta will come out on ps5 hopefully 2025

    Is it perfect no, does it have bugs yes but you know what it's a hell of a lot of fun and I for one can not stop playing it. Don't trust the negative reviews, if it's something that interests you buy it and try it for yourself then make up your own mind about it.

    As advertised. Lots of fun. 8/10 but just counterbalancing whiners.

    Exactly as advertised, lots of fun. Not reinventing the wheel, nor did it promise to. Just a fun arcade open world playground.

    I am really baffled on the universal hate on this game. It is a good open world game with a ton of fun stuff to do. If you like GTA style open world games, you will love it. I did not find it repetitive at all. The only downside is that the game crashes a lot, but hopefully this will be fixed in a patch. Just play the game yourself before you judge it so harshly.
