    So since it's on Plus I decided to give it a go. The hate is deserved. I'm so glad I didn't pay for this. It's EVERYTHING wrong with modern media that's made by people who live in a bubble smelling their own farts. If you relate to any of these characters in any way you really need to get out more.     Got the game for free via PS Plus monthly games. Got bored by the EULA. Deleted the game without finishing the opening cutscene.

The devs spat in the face of fans of the series and released a game none of us wanted, that had none of the spirit of Saints Row, and they used money from the sales of Saints Row 3 remaster to do it.     Giving saints row a 3.9/10, had a giggle here and there out of this cringe game, would of been a 2.9 but I got it for free out of a playstation 5 bundle.

    The game is too short, and it feels like a lot of it is missing the boss fights don't feel like boss fights especially the first one Wich the game does it for you in a cut scene. The game it self is buggy and glitchy.

    I played this game on PC, and it runs very well; I encountered very few bugs, and it looks gorgeous. The sound is excellent, and the shooting is very fluid and fun. Physics and driving are also very responsive and very fun. The level of customization of my 'boss' is pretty cool too. I was able to re-create myself very well. Very nice.

    They alienated Saints fans with this dumpster fire PS2 looking attempt of a videogame.

    They replaced all the all the fun, boring and cringy characters that make you want to punch them in the face, a gun play worse than some ps1 games, Outdated physics systems and a miriad of bugs.

    Overall: Avoid this at all costs to show them what we really want.

    What isn't bad about this game? From Writing, graphics, story, characters, optimization...it fails on all accounts. I wouldn't be surprised if this game kills the franchise. This game should be a lesson for game developers on "what not to do". Ignore anyone giving this game high marks. There's a reason why this game did so poorly and caused its studio Volition to shut down...

This game is stocked with dull jokes, bad writing, and a boring story. While there's a fresh cast of characters, it doesn't feel the same with the previous games' wacky sense of humor. I would bring up the mass amount of glitches, bugs,I look at this as a lazy piece of work you can (sort of) call a game. While there's a fresh cast of characters, it doesn't feel the same with the previous games' wacky sense of humor.     Lackluster gameplay. Almost all the AI are bullet sponges that aren't intelligent. The graphics look like they're from the Xbox 360 era. Cringy characters that feel the furthest thing from gangsters. The story is forgettable and lifeless with horrible writing. Radio stations feel lifeless compared to other games.The only good thing about this game is the character creation.

    I actually borrowed Saints Row from my local library, and even though it's "free" and has received several updates since the launch, I am finding myself struggling to like it.

    For the most part, the gun-play is pretty solid, and there's some awesome moments (mainly story missions) that feel satisfying, and engaging. However, I strongly dislike the fact that there's no dedicated cover    I actually borrowed Saints Row from my local library, and even though it's "free" and has received several updates since the launch, I am finding myself struggling to like it.

    For the most part, the gun-play is pretty solid, and there's some awesome moments (mainly story missions) that feel satisfying, and engaging. However, I strongly dislike the fact that there's no dedicated cover system. Instead you press down on the d-pad to "duck" and try to find cover in throughout the environment, which just feels arbitrary and tacky. Luckily your character is built like a sponge, and you can take many hits, but it downgrades the experience knowing you can stand there and take a lot of hits before you need to run around a corner and recover health. I also don't like how you can't switch your down the sights aiming from left to right shoulder. It is perpetually locked to the character's right shoulder, and there are times you really wish you could swap shoulders and perspectives in the process.

    The biggest offender for me though the HUD. I wish it had options to choose what you want displayed, or at least resize the HUD and/or move it closer to the corners of the screen. It's too invasive, and often times smack in the way and blocks your ability to see when you're driving to a destination. Playing a mission that involves driving to your destination? There's a HUGE circle icon on the horizon that sits squarely in your peripheral vision, making it difficult to see oncoming traffic and even road hazards.

    Also, the world that Volition created tries hard to be memorable, but it falls flat on its face. Everything feels bare, devoid of any excitement or strong attention t details, and the NPCs are beyond lame with their dreary ho-hum thoughts they say out loud. Everything just feels so cliche.

    I am glad I didn't pay actual money to play this game, but that I was able to give it a shot and see if it was for me. It's not, and I actually turned it off after about 10-12 hours since it simply never got any better, and felt like a chore to play.

    I'm looking forward to other open world games we're getting this year. Hopefully they don't disappoint like Saints Row.    … Expand

When i had heard this was going to be more like the first 2 I instantly preordered it, but when i bought it i was disappointed cause the dialog sucked the action sucked the game play sucked. The gunplay feels like it's SR4 and 3 Which suck and was a downgrade from 2 which still had mediocre gun playAs a huge fan of the Saints row games I am very sad to see it's fall from grace like this.     This game is not Saints Row it is a woke progressives fever dream. You never really get to do gang stuff. You are more the get away driver than anything meaningful. The quests are just glorified step n fetch it missions. This game re-woke, watered down, broke or abandoned everything that made a Saints Row game any good.

    i dont know who Volition hired to design this game, but they seriously saw one of the raunchiest irreverent adult humor games and said "what if we toned it down to G rated and made it super Politically Correct, yet absolutely no sex positive themes at all" and seriously though it would sell fine... thanks to this volition has been bought up by 2k and successfully ended the series as it once was...

    If mediocrity is your thing, then look no further. This reboot follows a standard open-world action game template while eschewing most of the wild sense of humor and chaos that made its predecessors (in)famous. Not a "bad" game after several patches, but it remains difficult to recommend at full price.

    Error error error another reboot with no personality what a waste of money and time. Full of glitches. First 15 min i fell through the map. Game got stuck on last level with character on fire in some weird location and tjen saved so when i loaded it back thats all that showed . THE GAME IS BROKEN. i personally dont care to see it fixed.

I have never played a game that gave me physical pain and is a insult to the saints row series. the story was horrific and the ending was just bad and rushed garbage. The characters are extremely bad and they are forgettable and just several pieces of paper. they said the open world was going to be alive but they were lying, the open world is even more bland then Stillwater. The gameplay was awful, the shooting feels spongey and the gameplay overall is awful. Overall, the game is the worst game I've played this year and it makes Saints Row IV And Gat Out of Hell look like masterpieces. I do not recommend this game, even if you are a fan of Saints Row… Expand

    This "game" is an unfinished mess. There is very few good things about this "game", one of them being is the funnest part of the game, the refunding option. This game tries to hard to not offend anybody, it's like saints row 2 made for gen z. If you want to make your fans excited, maybe don't add "horse balls" and ignore the fans.

    Remember, this game was delayed from January to August. There is literally no reason to play this game. The gameplay isn't fun, the visuals are worse than the previous game Saints Row The Third. The story makes no sense and you never end up caring about any of the main characters. The guns feel like toys. I somehow managed to play 3 hours of this nightmare and that's 3 hours too long.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Qu'on soit clairs : Si vous souhaitez acheter ce reboot de Saints Row en pensant avoir un vrai héritier des opus précédents entre les mains, passez votre chemin.

    Du Gameplay à l'histoire le jeu tient tout sauf ses promesses, On pense diriger un gang quand en réalité on a l'impression d'être le gérant de la MJC du coin.

    Niveau Histoire, tout est sujet à rigolade, ici , vous ne trouverez aucun évènement aussi marquant que ceux de Saints Row 2 ou 3. Les membres fondateurs du groupe ont plus la dégaine d'acteurs de sitcoms des années 2000 que de vrais gangsters. Et même dans le peu de quêtes qu'offrent le mode histoire, il n'y aura qu'une ou deux missions qui seront vraiment mémorables. Mot qui d'ailleurs, est tout le contraire de l'ensemble des personnages que vous allez croiser dans le jeu.

    Concernant le gameplay, honnêtement je ne saurais par ou commencer :
    - Les NPCs ont encore que deux réponses en tête quand ils vous voient : fuir ou tirer pour les plus braves d'entre eux
    - Les multiples bugs qui vous font sortir de la map ou qui vous bloquent sur des missions du mode HISTOIRE
    - La physique des voitures, car bien qu'elles soient assez agréable à conduire (j'ai bien aimé les drift en Raycaster), elles restent sacrément horribles à prendre en main à partir du moment ou vous utiliserez un grappin pour attacher un autre truc à eux
    - Le système de BARRE DE VIE ??!? Dans un jeu OPEN WORLD, Sérieux ?? C'est insupportable de devoir vider 2-3 chargeurs pour un seul ennemi

    Alors bien sur vous pourrez toujours modifier la résistance des ennemis, ou bien même masquer les barres de vie des voitures/ennemis, ça reste un ajout assez plaisant, mais de ce j'ai pu tester ça rendra le jeu soit trop facile, soit trop dur.

Gameplay is soo OLD and it's so boring, the activities are all the same and the gunplay is completely garbage. There are lots of bug and glitches too. The game isn't bad overall, in 2011-12 i would gave this game an 8, but it's 2022 and this game feels like a PS3 game, what a shame.

    Gat out of hell had more effort put into it... the story sucked the characters were worse and the gameplay was somehow less responsive than Fallout 76. I tried to look past the story and characters and try to enjoy the game part... 10 hours in and I already requested Xbox for a refund.

I have no idea if they have fixed that today, since I completed the game solo, but my saint-friend gave up on the game but couldn't refund it due to us trying for too many hours to get co-op running stable.

    And to have NPC body-shaming you when being shirtless or naked, white people puke when they see a shirtless black person, pukes in front of my transgender boss... I guess DeadlySteph, DeepSilver and Volition approves such public behavior.

    The graphics are far from impressive in 2022, even compared to previous Saints Row titles.

    I honestly only hope that this game has proven to the future development of games that we will never see games like this again.

I wanted to like this game, especially after I saw people review bombing it for being woke.     I don't really care about preachyness and wokeness in video games unless it gets absolutely overwhelming and becomes the entire point of the narrative (Life is Strange 2), and I have to say I honestly didn't see much of that in this. Other than the main characters being a strategically multi-racial group of annoying millennial hipsters, that is, and I only even noticed that because all the angry reviews had me looking for it going in. People have mentioned the character creator, and they're right, its terrible. Its nearly impossible to make a female character that doesnt look transgender. I don't know why this is, but I doubt it's intentional since the creator is so bad compared to the previous games. This game isn't propaganda, its just bad.

    For one the shooting system is almost identical to the one in Saints Row 2 made over a decade ago. The guns give little feedback and are annoyingly unresponsive making the whole thing feel janky and unresponsive. This was fine in Saints Row 3 and 4 when there was a ton of outlandish weapons to keep your mind off it, but none of that is present here.

    The humor is bad. There are definitely some laughs to be had, the writing isn't completely terrible all the time, it does have its moments. But a lot of that will be lost if you don't pick one of the 2 good voices available for your character, both of which are female. The voices this time are just really bad. The masculine black guy voice that I built my character around in all of the games from 2 onward is now gone, replaced by this whiny high pitched voice that sounds like Urkel from that tv show and its just terrible. Thank god the game lets you reconfigure the entire appearance of your character whenever you want.

    The missions are ok, but they are repetitive and most of the open world activities are copies of the ones in previous games. This is fine, they are still a lot of fun, and the crazy over-the-top violence and explosions are still here, but lacking the humor of the first games. Sadly, the main story is nowhere near as creative as the original series, and it's also stupidly short, and heavily padded by requiring you to do busywork. For instance, in SR 2 dealing with the police anti-gang task force takes almost half the game, and its awesome. Here its just one mission, taking 5 minutes out of your day to intimidate an entire police force into submission.

    The villains actually had potential, but they squandered it by loosing focus and basically forgetting about them by the end of the game. They introduce an entirely new villain in the last mission of the game. I'm not joking there, they seriously invent a new villain for you to kill just to resolve this disaster of a story and it is even more stupid than it sounds.

    I don't know what happened here. There are some actually good ideas, like the new powers you get for leveling up. More grounded and practical than the ones in 4, the progression system could have been awesome but unfortunately they didn't add any more than that. Combine those skills with the stat buying system from 3 and 4 and this part of it would have come out great. Car and gun upgrading is breathtakingly simple, there are no specific upgrades you can get like in 2,3 and 4, just pump money into the gun to boost its stats. Boring as hell and way more primitive than the previous games. Its poorly optimized and crash prone (I had to restart it at least once every 4 hours, not enough to make me quit, but annoying), but no amount of extra development time would have fixed the problems evident in the gameplay and story.

    Despite the failure this game is sure to be, I hope they keep making SR games, but when they do, it needs to be another reboot. We can't have a direct sequel progressing out of this, there are a few likeable characters, but volition has shown before that they can do MUCH better than this.    … Expand

    Driving and shooting is janky af, the vast majority of missions are just “go here, pick up thing, bring it back”, even the main story missions. The “gang building” is but a pale imitation of the first two SR games. Visually the game looks like something from mid-last gen only with volumetric fog and heat distortion effects for the hell of it -- but there's nothing here that can excuse the game's absolutely awful performance. Unstable frame rates, copious frame drops, stutters, extreme texture pop in, missing textures, the list goes on. And the list of bugs I encountered, many minor, some gamebreaking, would be too long to type.

    26 hours played to reach 100% completion and I only bothered because I didn't have anything better to play at the moment. I cannot recommend this game, especially not to Saints Row fans. This is a dumbed down, forgettable, "politically correct" version of the Saints and it feels like a game the original Saints Row would have absolutely pilloried. Saints Row 4 accurately predicted this with their parody signs reading: "REBOOT IS DEATH". This is, indeed, the death of a once fun franchise. Rest in Peace, Third Street Saints.    … Expand

    A buggy embarrassing mess with an empty open-world ad the "villains" and protagonist look like a bunch of people who hang out at coffee shops 5 days out of the week and cry when they have to drink whole milk. They're just unlikable characters and it stings the soul when the game tries to make them seem like "heroes.
    Who is this game for anyway? Twitterazis, oversensitve SJWs? Anita Sarkeesian???

    I've been a fan of Saint's Row since the beginning of the franchise. I love that the game is the 'toned down' version of GTA because I can't stand all the n-word this, n-word that BUT this new installment definitely is NOT Saint's Row. Why? Because the characters are mostly flat, the stakes are boring, and the wild, nutty stuff from the previous games is completely absent! Simply put, YOUI've been a fan of Saint's Row since the beginning of the franchise.     I played the game on Xbox so I didn't have any buggy moments that interfered with the game but I by 1/4 the way through, I was finding the missions to be repetitive and the side-quests were just so-so.    … Expand

    They should be embarrassed to have released this steaming pile of crap! Nonstop glitches, very few of your "moves" even work, etc. I'm not giving this developer another dime, ever!

    he character creator still shines, but frustrating mission design and a disappointing plot make this reboot difficult to recommend. Far more sinner than saint. [Issue#19, p.92]
