With a story full of twists, an audacious writing that makes us question the character's actions, a spectacular art direction along with a dark and mysterious soundtrack, Saga of Sins turns out to be a good action and platform title. Its multiple endings are interesting and somewhat rewarding, but some of them leave to be desired.

Whilst this could've ended up another run-of-the-mill combat platformer, Saga of Sins does well with its setting and premise. Using the sins as a backdrop for levels helps keep the platforming varied and gives them license to experiment with a couple of neat tricks. I think the presentation is handled well but the voice acting can fall flat for a couple of characters. Despite this, I enjoyed this medieval morality tale and will be interested in seeing what Bonus Level Entertainment do next.

Though short and certainly limited in a number of ways, Saga of Sins nonetheless leaves an indelible impression. With no shortage of imagination and a solid grasp of action platforming fundamentals, Saga of Sins not only impresses but provides an eye-opening blueprint for where a hopefully much more content stuffed sequel could go next. As it is, Saga of Sins is a breathlessly stylish, though overly brief action platformer that boasts a compelling setting that everybody should check out.

Overall, Saga of Sins ends up being a well-themed run-and-gun platformer, and it executes well enough. The difficulty curve is pretty forgiving, and the campaign doesn’t hang around any longer than it needs to, so getting stale is never an issue. While I wanted more mechanically, the visuals and concepts alone were enough to keep me interested enough to see it through to the end, and that’s not something I can say about every game.

This is one of my favorite Indie Games of the last years, a unique and worthwhile experience!
The stained glass arts style is fantastic, love the gameplay (you can enter the minds of the villagers!), level design is great too with lots of secrets and many, completely different levels (really short ones to some Metroidvania style ones). The game even has a cool story with four different endings and you can upgrade your characters (you start as a Werewolf but unlock more creatures such as a Gargoyle and more). It's a bit easy but there are 3 difficulty settings and hard would be my recommended option.
I wish to see more unique games like this!
