    Mon avis sur cet opus de RE4 est mitigé, même s'il est globalement très positif.
    Il est bon d'un point de vue scénario et histoire, car il suit à la lettre la version originale (c'est ce qui est attendu pour un remake), mais pêche légèrement sur la partie technique.
    Je trouve les mouvements du personnage perfectibles et manquant de rythme, en clair pas au niveau de mes attentes sur PS5.

    The red-dot of the original, where your shots go where you aim, has been replaced with a cursor and random bullet deviation - resulting in the frustrating experience of missing constantly where you feel you should have hit.

    At higher levels of play, the reliability of getting stagger animations and learning the game is gone - due to more randomness in the engine as relates to critical hits and whatnot. The tight "learnability" of the original is gone, where you could get good at the game through learning what reactions you'd get from hitting certain body parts and following up with melee attacks. This means that experience translated into performance in a satisfying way. Now, goodness is determines by player age, gaming hardware and a good mouse. It's just a poor, soulless follow up to a gaming great. The developers stood on the shoulders of giants and delivered a mediocre experience.    … Expand

    El juego es muy bueno graficamente su sistema de juego igual, esta al nivel tecnicamente. Recomendado si quieres jugar una version mejorada al original. Pero no es 100% fiel al original, es un 80% ya que hay muchos cambios en la historia principal y me desagrada un poco.

    Why walking and running feels so clumsy? Aiming and shooting is straight up just terrible.
    Got platinum trophies on previous 4 RE games, I don’t think I’m even going to finish this one…

    I like the Gameplay even if it's a bit clunkier and stiffer than the original. My biggest gripes and they are big is the lack of "presence" for both Salazar and Saddler. VA for all are weak across the board except Ashley. The radio dialogues from original really helped to maintain the Big baddies presence and here it's gutted. Also the saddler scene after Leon gets Ashley from church gone.I like the Gameplay even if it's a bit clunkier and stiffer than the original.     My last RE game was RE2 on pc in early 2000s. I thought the remake of 4 will be a good time to pick it up, but after playing it for an hour or 2, I realized I didn't really miss much. There're some enemies you can kill from behind, but that only makes up like 10% of them tops. So bottomline, I don't know what the **** is this. As a shooting game, it's not snappy and satisfying enough. It's a game you kinda shoot, kinda kick, kinda infiltrate, kinda fight boss, but at the end of day, you just got chased by a bunch of zombies and hope you can find a way to get to the next section.     When the original Resident Evil 4 was released it marked the end of my interest in the Resident evil franchise, it was a departure from what I loved about the series and the tank controls were just awful.

    This remake drags the old game into the modern age, and unlike the original, I played this until its completion. With that said the game was still a big miss for me, the tonal shift from RE2 & RE3 is still too jarring, the story generally uninteresting and the gameplay a lot less survival horror and a lot more collect loot to upgrade your guns for the next shooting gallery.

    Level design is a bit of a let down, half the corridors you walk or rooms you enter have you wondering why they would exist, what's their purpose? The suspense is ruined by a constant barrage of cut and paste enemies with a few forgettable "Shoot the yellow bit" bosses along the way.

    IMO RE4 wasn't good back then, and it isn't good now. It's certainly playable, but also pretty missable.    … Expand

Fourth, sometimes parry animation is on and you still receive a lot of damage (maybe that’s the mechanic). And lastly, sometimes enemies are in the middle of an attack and the same enemy grabs you, even when their animation was not completed, this feels strange. So my opinion, it’s a good game but I would prefer not to be the remake of re4, they messed up a lot of things, but hopefully they will patch them soon. In that case I’ll edit my review.… Expand

    So, I come into this game with the interesting perspective of having ever played RE4 prior. I'm a casual fan of the series, but somehow just never got around to picking this game up prior to now. This is the game that some people will argue is objectively the greatest game of all time? First, the story was incredibly weak. It peaks in its opening hours and only goes downhill from there. I found Salazar and Saddler to be completely forgettable villains. Next, the gameplay. I found myself screaming at my TV in anger constantly because of how slowly Leon moves. The game is in a constant battle with itself because it wants to be a traditional survival horror game and a fast paced action game at the same time. I frequently found myself in situations that I felt were unfair simply because I couldn't move Leon out of the way in time before I'm being swarmed by 10 enemies who seeming came out of nowhere. Not to mention, the game has no consistency when it comes to fighting enemies. Sometimes a single headshot and a kick is enough to finish them off, and sometimes that same enemy takes 12 headshots and multiple roundhouse kicks to the face to finish off. It doesn't help that aiming your gun never feels right. This makes several moments such as trying to shoot small targets like the Regeneradors' weak spots more trouble than it is worth. The voice acting is also pretty mediocre. There are a few stand out performances (Luis, Ashley, and the Merchant), but most of the voice actors just feel like they don't want to even be here (looking at you Ada). This remake actually makes me want to pick up the original at some point to see if it is any better. At best, I can describe this as a soulless experience. I would argue that if you are a die hard RE fan and absolutely must play it, wait six or seven months until it is inevitably added to Game Pass and PS+ as free titles.… Expand

    Haven't finished the game but just want to say most of these "reviews" scream unhinged and mentally ill. You Resident Evil fans are so weird and need to do better. I'll give a full rating and review once I'm done with it but WOW you guys need to get some help.

Bueno para empezar leon dice muchas grosería algo que el león del original jamás diría , calidad de juego baja mucho león se siente pesado cuando de patear me refiero , el la parte del castillo lo alargan mucho tanto que llega a fatigar , eliminación de U3 que venga que era un BOSS de relleno pero su dificultad era increíble , el diálogo extendido de el buhonero , Ashley ,Luis con que me refiero a lo de Luis que el nos enamoro en la entrega original porque era misterioso pero ahora es molestoso al punto que llegue la bajar el volumen al televisor para no escucharle y eso, con esto quiero decir que se acabo el chiste-sito de andar comprando remakes de residente evil.… Expand

    Incredible game that got me into the series. I love how the remake added more exploration and puzzle elements than the original and it’s just an all around fantastically entertaining game.

    Get rid of the arcade, retro, old school stuff please. Smashing barrels with stuff in it. Items not relevant to the enemy dropping them. Get rid of vendor and cash as it is... Its mystical yes but immersion breaking, irrelevant and makes no sense. Jewels ?     I would have preferred smaller maps with more meaning in them. Fewer enemies and more spooky and dangerous atmosphere. Nothing is really scary and you can easily just shoot everything, running almost like DOOM with exploding barrels picking up dropped items.

    You guys are almost there ; graphics, game-play, aesthetic, story, mechanics. Just be more serious and severe. And for cry sake, Capcom, stop it with boss that have an eye for weak parts or indestructible ones that need to be at this particular spot when you activate the switch, we done that a million times already.    … Expand

But the dumbest thing that the developers thought of doing is the **** lack of the ability to change the difficulty level up. once you change the difficulty level to easy, you will no longer be able to return the difficulty back. It improved on the original and realized the potential the original had when it originally released. The same can be said for Metroid Prime Remastered. But this one feels like an unnecessary endeavor.     This is a good game, but waiting for a next remake is very long. I have always hated the plot of 4, and it's no different here. Lily Gao is literally THE WORST voice actor to ever voice a character. What the hell is wrong with you Capcom that you allowed her to even voice Ada!? The even WORST thing this costs 60$ dollars!

I have very fond memories of playing the original on Wii -- motion control was the sh*t -- and was inordinately looking forward to this updated version. Graphically and aesthetically, the game is stunning: the environment is gorgeous, the lighting and score are outstanding, but... The controls have just not aged well, the voice over performances are embarrassingly bad, and the amended mechanics are barely functional. Stealth is okay (though closing in on an enemy in crouch at a snail's pace gets real old real fast), parrying works sporadically, and dodging is practically non-functional (barring the occasional QTE button prompt). Basically, RE4 looks like a next gen game, but plays, and feels, like a sorely out-of-date one. I enjoyed myself immensely for the first half (12-ish hours) of my playthrough, and then it just became a slow, frustrating slog. By the last few chapters, I really just wanted it all to end.… Expand

    As someone who played the original RE4 at least 20 times this is definitely the way to remake a game. The only reason for the low rating is that Ashley is a huge downgrade. Her witty commentary and constant heavy breathing are annoying and I personally prefer her having a health bar as opposed to her getting hit and just sitting there asking to get hit again.

    Also, Ashley's behavioral changes from the original to the remake, have made the latter less enjoyable.

    El juego original del ´05 era la evolucion de jugabilidad de la saga, la historia nunca tuvo una trama buena, rescatar a la hija del presidente es tan anticuado como como las peliculas de los 80´s, este juego presenta la misma historia pero sin una evolucion real como lo mostro su original, lo que lo hace otro juego mas del monton del motor RE como el Remake del 3 y RE 7.

    Original did it better. All the weapons are worse, there's a gross part where black sludge is poured into the mouth of Ashley, and Leon has a horrible personality now.

    Did not play the original. I do however love RE1-RE3 and RE7. Read the reviews and bout the game! Talked about being scammed! What a boring game, well made but not a RE game. You just run around in a village shouting people they are not even zombies!?
    So I was scammed in to buying this game because of all the fake reviews! This is not a fun game nor a RE game!

    didn't think i'd dislike this since i liked the previous resident evils and the original resident evil 4 but this just feels so PS3 gen and the visuals are horrible. yes the textures and character models are decent but the environments and lightning is just horrendous. massive regret wasting 70 euro's on this.. wait for around 20-30 euro's..

Beat RE 4 OG a dozen times on GC, PS2, WII, PS3, PS4, and PS5. Currently on Chapter 13 of the Remake and I really don't want to continue.

    Missing many game modes that were available with OG from day 1 (Mercs, Assignment Ada, and Separate Ways). You know Crapcom will launch a Gold Edition 6 months from now at $60.
    Aiming is horrible. They removed the laser-aim that was available with all weapons in the OG.
    AI is brutally tough and unfair. Remake on Standard difficulty is harder than Pro mode in OG. I died 35 times in OG Pro, 75 times in Remake, Stan.
    Ton of super tedious puzzles that are based on trial-and-error. Wasted hours on stupid puzzles. Puzzles in OG were mostly fun, quick, and logical.
    Graphical glitches. Screen tearing, low-res and blurry textures, black screens, pop-in, etc.
    Weapons lack the oomph of OG.
    Sound effects suck.
    Removed decapitations from OG. WTF. You can't decapitate enemies via suplexes, or bullets to the face like the original. The shotgun, handgun, and riffle have all been nerfed in Remake. Far weaker and feel like toys instead of real guns like OG that pack a serious wallop.
    Poor voice acting.
    PC plot. No ballistics, overtime, or checking out Ashley's bits. I loved the campy humor and one-liners from OG.
    Music is crap. Not a single standout track. Of course, if you want the original soundtrack you need to fork over an extra $10 on the Deluxe Edition. Crapcom doing what is does best.

I don't know y'all, this is simultaneously one of the best remakes out there, while being one of the worst. My God, even one of the OG boss fights I sincerely don't understand how NOT to get hit. It has random dodge mechanics for some attacks and others seem like guaranteed homing attacks that are unavoidable and take half your health or more. I was so excited for this release that I took my vacation from work for it, I want my vacation time back now. It's not garbage but the difficulty is beyond souls anger-inducing. I actually recommend waiting for a price drop, didn't even release with merc mode. Kinda annoys me that it's getting so much praise, I had like 10 rating fun with the og and this is like 4 on the fun scale.     Leon and Ada are the same trash models from RE2. Original RE4 and RE6 Leon and Ada models are SO MUCH better. Remember when Capcom kept making new models for every new RE game but no one cared because they were all amazing? It's a good thing to have the same models returning but only when they are good, the thing is that Leon and Ada from RE2 are trash. Luis and Wesker models are trash too. They took everything that made those characters cool.

    The voice of acting of those characters are also terrible. RE voice acting was great in the late 2000s, back when every character looked and sounded memorable. What happened? We know using the same things again isn't a issue for Capcom, as they have been using many of the assets they created for RE7 in every single new RE game, and that's why the new RE games look so cheap. So why not use the same voice actors from the past? Those cheap **** are trying to save as much money as possible, no wonder most of the new RE games are mostly just a copy and paste. Same trash art style for every single new RE game, same trash character models, same assets for 4 games in a row. But they can't bring back the voices that made those characters popular, no, that's too much for them. Maybe they are trying to save money with that too, and it's less expensive to bring new people to do the voice acting, who knows.

    But of course dudes are giving 10 to this trash, because they don't understand gaming. This is just the new generation, the same dogs who think Fortnite is good, they don't know when a game is actually good because they haven't played any.

    Gun sounds are terrible. Amount of cut content are terrible. Leon movement animations are terrible.

    Leon in the original was extremely stylish like Dante, literally every single animation of Leon was created to make him as stylish and cool as possible, which suited his personality very well. Now Leon personality is changed to worse, and theres literally 0 stylish things about him, even the spinning kick looks dumb as **** but his movement is just the worst.

    PLAY THE ORIGINAL. Graphics don't help mechanics and game design as bad as Chapter 9 and 14. There is a crystal clear, pure, perfect version of this game, and you can buy it remastered for your PS5. Don't bother with this horrific remake. They also don't understand the ammo scarcity of the first game and simply thought "don't put much ammo" was the mechanic. It wasn't. The original Resident Evil 4 game knew how to pace that so that it didn't become so frustrating you turned the game off.

    If this had been the original Resident Evil 4, no one would have heard of it. I'm starting to think modern game designers got their degrees from an unaccredited internet university. You can see the scam this game is by the "critical reviews" and user reviews. When you're starting with a pure 9.3 ranked game, you'd think there's no way to mess that up. But yeah, they did. They took one of the closest-to-perfect games in history and turned it into a mindless 7.8 slog. I hated every minute from chapter 9 on. To the people ranking this slog-fest a "10." Even the original isn't a 10. It's close but not there, so barf and laugh to your reviews. How much did PS pay you?

    Man the voice work is horrible on the ears. Still missing a really good boss from the OG. Game feels all over the place and doesn't feel great. Laser aiming is gone. Humor is gone. Voice acting is bad all the way across the board. It's even woke in areas. It's a pretty sad little remake.

    Just the basic combat encounter design alone is no way near as strong as the original.
    It's take skill, vision, balancing & tuning to make fun shooter combat, but Capcom has often failed in that regard.
    You also get enemies who appear & grab you from behind with no indication, frequent generic combat, and some bosses that will exploit that the player doesn't have an always availble dodge move.

    The Music is far worse, and most of the new characters are bad ( except for the Merchant who is still good.)

    There's long periods of down time just traversing, which shows problems with pacing. This game is about 10 hours longer than the original, and they filled that extended length with padding, bad puzzles, long boring traversal and general filler.

    I played Resi 4 - 3 times just 2 months ago to prepare and be able to make a comparison. I'm now half way though my 2nd playthrough of the Remake and I'm sort of bored allready.

They removed the Separate Ways mode with Ada, Assigment Ada as well. The game is very bad the crosshairs are no longer laser and the recoil of the weapons are exaggerated the crosshairs go up to the sky nothing to see this does not exist in real life. Resident Evil 2 3 and 4 remake follow the same pattern, right? It's the same bad pattern, the same bad gameplay sometimes terrible and annoying. These games now are not like the ones they used to be. Resident Evil 1 remake remains the best in the series as well as as good as the original Resident Evil 4 is so much so that the original's world score is now at 96 worldwide considering the current remake's score is lowering players' scores worldwide .     The physics in this game are trash. When you roundhouse kick a zombie, the physics are identical to Ubisoft's garbage physics. It's even worse when you kick them off ledges. It looks like I'm knocking off chess pieces and luggage. As always, Capcom fails to add attention to detail you would expect from a AAA $60 game. I couldn't take a rifle from a wall mount in real-time. The briefcases magically open themselves. When I kick a barrel, the one next to it magically breaks. Not to mention the destruction of the barrels and boxes are PS2 quality. There is barely any splash when shooting the water. The voice acting is lame. The merchant's and Ada's voice are much worse than the original. Side missions are terrible. The level design is a joke and so are the puzzles.

    There is no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $60 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. Mercenaries is confirmed to come out next month, although there is no confirmation on multiplayer. Even if there is multiplayer for Mercenaries, that's not going to cut it. I'd rather play Raid mode or PvP. We used to get like half a dozen game modes, and now these developers are so greedy and lazy to give me just one at launch. This "New Game plus" trend is the most pathetic, cheapest and laziest attempt at replay value ever. 60 freaking dollars, I expect more at that ridiculous price. I only recommend this game at $10 or wait until it's free on PS Plus.    … Expand

In the past, when asked a question about what would have happened if Re4 had been a terrible game, everyone would have said Re5. Now the answer to this question is Re4 remake. Everything about the original game has been made terrible. Let's move on to our review. Let's start with the mechanics. I want to mention the RE Engine, although this game engine was very bad, it didn't make itself noticeable from a woody camera angle like FPS, but when the Re2 remake came out, it slowly became clear how bad this game engine was. The feel of the hit and their physics were very bulky and unresponsive, but due to the structure of Re 2 remake, the zombies already had low artificial intelligence and were not very understood in this game either. The original game was such an active game that even when the remake demo came out, I saw that the RE engine could not withstand this active gameplay and how terrible the mechanics of the game made it. Enemies often don't react when they're hit The TPS camera angle is bad, no one expected it to be as good as the original game anyway, because the original game still has the best TPS mechanics and perspective ever, and there's been no equivalent, there's just been some close ones. Unfortunately, Re4 remake has become one of the games with the worst TPS mechanics ever. As for the gameplay, there is self-defense with a knife in the game, and it definitely doesn't work properly, most of the time you get hit by the enemy, and this raises your nerve level quite a lot. I would like to mention the boss fights, but I will give them a separate place at the end of the review. Now we can move on to the department designs. There are too many sections removed from the original game and it affects the fluency of the game a lot, the village where we started the game interpreted the original game in reverse and we are going the opposite way. As for the castle section, it feels very different from the original game, most of the places have been removed, most of them have been made of terrible designs, most of them feel like a huge empty box. There is nothing to mention in the island section, most of the places have been changed, just like the castle. Unlike the original game, the episode designs do not contribute to the mechanics of the game, soulless designs. Now there is something I want to mention in the original version of Re4. Atmosphere, ambience and music these three things made the ojrnial game one of the best horror games ever in history. Re 4 remake is a disgrace in this regard, even the remake has become a complete action game. Re4 remake is the same action game as Re5. The atmosphere, ambience and music have been completely removed, you are doing nothing but shooting enemies who are flocking to you, and the terrible TPS mechanics of the game make this situation even more difficult. The terrible music has been completely removed. If you play the game in its original sounds, these soundtracks come back, but the fact that the atmosphere of the game is a disgrace negatively affects these soundtracks as well. Now we can come to the boss designs that I mentioned at the beginning of the review. All the bosses in the game repeat the same movements, whose modified designs have become incredibly easy and simple, until the fight is over. Salazar, the krauser bosses have been radically changed and have become a disgrace, I don't even want to talk about salazar in particular. Tactical analysis in bosses, you just need to rain bullets on them with your removed weapons. The bosses show their weak points themselves. As I said, the other bosses are incredibly easy to either do the same moves or jump around, especially the last boss. In addition, one of the best and most iconic bosses of the game, U-3, has been removed from the game. Along with Verdigo, I strongly condemn the makers of the two scariest and most difficult bosses in the Resident evil series. The Verdigo boss is one of the most difficult bosses in the history of the game, you feel almost soulslike desperation, and now that this difficulty has been completely eliminated, you can rain all your bullets on Verdigo. There are a few things I would like to mention one last time. I want to talk about the character modeling of the game. In this game, the photorealistic character graphics continue, and all the characters look so terrible. Separate ways, Assignment Ada and mercenaries are not in the game. We came to the end of our review, the original game was the best game ever in history, Capcom couldn't handle it. If they had pushed a little harder, it would have been a game as outrageous as Re Village and Operation Raccoon City Re 4 remake. As for the rating of the game, 20/100… Expand

    There is a slow delay in the movement of the characters. It's quite uncomfortable. The graphics are slow. I don't like it. I don't want to play this game.

    Overall, fails to live up to the hype and is a prime example of style over substance. It is a shallow and uninspired experience . Save yourself the disappointment and invest your time and money elsewhere.

    Really disappointing, too much cut content in this game especially my favorite boss U-3 ,Its just RE3 in a different setting, same clunky controls, same boring weapon sounds and music, its just so lame compared to the original, the death scenes are trash, the blood is too much to fill the screen, and there are no chainsaw decapitations

    Half the 10 ratings are from crybabies, ooh look at me, please delete all the ratings that are not 10, the game is a mess, a lot of parts are missing, leagues behind the original, the gameplay is terrible, leon movements are boorish, character desings... cringe, and the story was fun back in 2005, now is ridiculous.

    This is the greatest timeline! Feels so good to be horror fan in a time where best horror games are making full comeback! Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space Remake in same year? Hell yeah! Both were amazing as well and possibly Silent Hill 2 remake at the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024?

    It's the best Remake I've ever Played.This game and the 2005 Original are both insanly great for their Time. Not just the Story even the Gameplay is Amazing (A few issues with texture plop ins). But Overalls the performance is INSANE ! Ps4 30FPS 1080p ,Ps4 Pro (internal SSD) 2k 30FPS or 60 FPS by 1080p. Ps5 is even better ! I had no Bugs over all and not a Single Game Crash :) ! A GameIt's the best Remake I've ever Played.This game and the 2005 Original are both insanly great for their Time.     The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
