    This game is peak Resident Evil, it hits all marks in every category. The action based survival horror genre was made because of the OG RE4 and it makes sense that this game would come back 20 times stronger. The action was just absolutely great. Non stop entertainment. The visuals and graphics are probably one of the best in the world right now, up there with Demon Souls and Red Dead 2, probably even better. My favorite part of the entire game was the sound design. Sound design in video games are so crucial and undervalued these days, it's great to see them accomplish what they did in this game. The sound of the footsteps walking in different terrains, the sounds of the guns shooting or reloading, the sound of the menu and navigating the UI, just an absolute ASMR fest with the sound.

    The same directors who directed RE2 remake also were the directors in this remake and it makes complete sense. The game gives you the ability to explore and figure things out at your own pace and gives you the ability to make your playthrough unique just like RE2 remake did. I loved every second of this game and after finishing it immediately jumped back in to a second playthrough for some more and it still feels fresh. Any game that can make me go back in and play a second time not too long after completion is a rare W.

    I see a ridiculous amount of 0s in ratings on this game from user reviews and it's actually embarrassing the amount of people who simply hate review just to be nuisance. Anyone giving this game a 0 is a joke. It's a survival horror - action game, anyone who complains about resource management in a video game shouldn't be playing RE games. Just saying. I'm willing to bet the majority of people who review bombed this were old boomers who can't let go of the past. If the game isn't EXACTLY how it was in the original they lose their minds and you can just tell by the things they say that's exactly who it is leaving bad reviews, actually cringe. They hate the fact that other people are enjoying a game they feel entitled to hate on. I played the OG game and I can honestly say this remake was a masterful job and yes they cut some stuff but they also added new stuff in it's place and made everything simply better. Voice acting on point, set pieces were great, just all around great stuff. STOP HATING BOOMERS.

    Capcom delivers once again! The greatest video game dev in the business who actually give fans what they want and don't make you wait too long for it. They've been putting out new games that fans have been asking for every single year and they continue to outdo themselves. Thank you Capcom for yet another absolute masterpiece!    … Expand

    Phenomenal work Capcom, very good remake. Nothing is funnier than watching those poor haters, trying to desperately upvote their own negative reviews lmao. But ironically they are even too slow for that or maybe they are just getting tired, either way they are not just clowns, they are entire circus lol.

    Old man, buy without fear if you already played the original or are adventuring now. Fluid gameplay, too much narrative/voicing. Jokes at the right time with Leon's good humor. Charismatic characters, excellent gameplay. Grade 10!

    Negative point: RE4 without zombies but then it's not the fault of the remake because the original didn't have it either, it's CAPCOM's fault.

    the gun mechanics have improved greatly

    What a ride that was, from the likeable characters, to the great horror sections, the beautiful set-pieces, and the very fun gameplay mechanics, this game is all-around fantastic.     I did find the puzzles kind of uninteresting to be honest, and the boss fights are mostly bullet sponges, but I enjoyed the backtracking, going back to areas I already explored only to find more things, the way the world is interconnected makes exploring feel smooth.

    Definitely recommending this one, it's a very solid videogame experience that pleases both survival horror fans and action fans alike, a superb Remake.

    Not much to add here, except that this is a perfect remake. It modernizes, reinvents and at the same time, stays very true to the source material. It doesn't feel rushed or lacking content like RE3 remake. Also, superb production values, much better writing and creepier atmosphere than the original.

    Just beautiful.

    Amazing remake, even better than RE2 remake, but mostly because RE4 is just objectively better game, RE2 is solid too of course, but not on RE4 level. Also thanks god nobody takes those negative reviews seriously on this site, real RE fans just laugh at these pathetic 0/10 reviews. This remake already sold millions of copies and was massive success!

    Original was a absolutely phenomenal when it released in 2005, but this remake is somehow even better version of that game, so i would recommend playing this remake instead of OG.

    Remake improves lots of things, like level design, graphics, overall atmosphere, dialogue, voice acting (especially for Ashley), also movement is about million times better in remake.

    Fake reviews bombing the score simply because no panties and cut jokes that, even in 2005, were weird and out of place. Go outside for once edge lords its ok. This game was incredible. If you didn't enjoy it as much as the original that's ok, go play that one then. Simple.

    Beautiful remake! In my opinion one of CAPCOMS best game. The original as like the remake. Just ja beautiful game, a beautiful adventure. Its a game for casual gamers as like for hardcore players and fans. I love it. 10/10.

    I should begin with saying that i played the original re4 a few months before the remake released so i don't have the nostalgia factor blocking me from enjoying the remake for what it is. The original is a great and generation defining game but the remake essentially builds on that by rectifying some flaws & quirks that re4 2005 had. RE2 remake & RE4 remake are definitely two of my favorite horror games ever & i absolutely love Leon as a character & protagonist!… Expand

The attention to detail in this game is mind blowing from enemies being smarter and reacting to you aiming your gun to the sound affects when shooting, also the way Leon holds his weapons because he is well trained is great. The boss battles are epic and i love some of the additions they added to this remake. Been playing Resident Evil games since i was a kid and this is definitely in my top 5, i just wish they did 3 better like they did with 2 and 4. Can i just pray that they do a Code Veronica remake next. Putting this game in my hall of fame!… Expand

    It makes me so happy that whenever new RE fans will play RE4, they will ALWAYS play the remake and not the original, simply because Remake is just better version of this game.

    PS: Everyone just ignore fake negative reviews on this and instead look for real reviews on steam. It's overwhelmingly positive on steam with over 50 000 reviews!

I could debate with RE4R haters for hours and they would still lose, because they have NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to back up their hate. Even U-3 is coming in DLC, so he will be part of the RE4R anyway. There's absolutely no wayAs of now, this is literally best version of RE4 and already has become fan-favorite version of the game.     The story of the game is a mediocre story, the gameplay is very enjoyable and attractive, in terms of visuals, it is equal to Cross Gen 2023 games and has a stunning visual, the main boss fights are very similar to each other. The sound design of the game is wonderful, the enemies have a good variety and only one new type of enemy has been added to the remake compared to the original version.

    Resident Evil 4 Remake not only does right by its original source of inspiration, but it also sets a high bar for what modern day remakes can be. All components of the story have been finetuned into a more well-thought out package, and that’s before mentioning the game’s full use of today’s graphical prowess to deliver a more terrifying interpretation of rural Spain. The core gameplay also retains what made it so great back in the day, but with modern amenities such as a parrying system, quick-select for weapons and the ability to run. And despite the new improvements, the increased aggressiveness of the enemies ensures that the game never feels like a cakewalk. I don’t know who still needs to be convinced at this point, but Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
