    Finally a true PS5 games and it show. The games is not a revolution but make the genre look better then ever. If your a fan of this franchise this games is a must. Story line is longer then previous game of the franchise and dual sense is well used. Worth buying it full price

    Ich muss sagen (auch wenn ich noch nicht ganz mit der Story fertig bin) dass es sehr viel Spaß macht dieses Game zu zocken, nur diese eine Roboter Piraten gegener mit den Schilden finde ich nervig, außerdem hatte ich einmal das Problem dass ich mich in eine Plattform irgendwie Reingeglicht habe, allerdings kam ich mit Hilfe eines Rifts sehr einfach wieder raus, eine Sache die im Spiel sehrIch muss sagen (auch wenn ich noch nicht ganz mit der Story fertig bin) dass es sehr viel Spaß macht dieses Game zu zocken, nur diese eine Roboter Piraten gegener mit den Schilden finde ich nervig, außerdem hatte ich einmal das Problem dass ich mich in eine Plattform irgendwie Reingeglicht habe, allerdings kam ich mit Hilfe eines Rifts sehr einfach wieder raus, eine Sache die im Spiel sehr amüsant fand (es gibt ja immer Mal wieder Bosskämpfe im Spiel) dass sich ein Bossgegner im Kampf einfach selber umgebracht hat kurz nach Beginn des Kampfes, weil irgendwie von der Plattform runtergefallen ist, auf der der Kampf stattfand. Also kommen wir zum Fazit, Ratched and Clank Rift Apart ist ein sehr gutes Spiel, was man sich Mal anschauen sollte… Expand

    Ratchet & clank è un'avventura nuova, ma con richiami al passato in tutto e per tutto, a partire dal gameplay. Non si stravolge la formula classica di platform/shooting alla ratchet & clank ma si evolve quel minimo che serve per renderlo attuale. Tecnicamente impressionante, nella modalità performance rt dà il meglio di sea con qualche piccolo calo di frame sporadico.     Awesome graphics with fine character modeling give happiness into my eyes. Game volume also not bad. Has but one shortcoming is the price, I think.

    Great game with stunning visuals,no load times and a strong gameplay loop with excellent pacing that always made me say "just one more section" to myself at 2:00am in the morning. The only criticism I could give was for the money (£70) it was a little on the shorter side only taking me 19 hours to platinum.     The Gameplay is excellent and the graphics are marvellous. The story is very interesting and enjoyable as well. I think there is room for a sequel with more background about the history of the Lombaxes. The weapons level up slower and differently than in the 2016 game but other than that I didn't find anything that was mindnumming. Great game

    Awesome looking game with a great combat system. Can be played quickly or slowly with many choices during fights, due to a big amount of upgradeable guns and other gameplay mechanics. With around 15 to 20 hours for some people maybe a bit too short, but i extremly enjoyed this wonderfull game.

    Im a big fan of the whole Ratchet and clank franchise and in rift apart insomniac showed me again That they are real gods in making videogames. Rift apart is my game of the year so far. The only negative thing is the time to beat the game. I played it on platinum in under 15 hours. But over all rift apart is a really good game.

    Fantastic game, with difficulty levels to suit all. Loads of collect everything replay as well. Gets a little repetitive as you near the end, with just hundreds of similar baddies continuously waving in, but otherwise a really polished game.

    I have not played the previous games, so I might've missed some of the details, but it has not stopped me from absolutely loving the game. I feel like it was actually the first 'next-gen' game for PS5. The details of the environment blew me away. The game mechanics were decent and the number of weapons just outstanding.

    I would recommend this game to every ps5 owner because it is the only game that made me realize the difference between 60hz and 120hz. It has its small flaws, but it also reminds you that you are playing a next-gen console.

    Great game. Plays fun and fluid. Really shows the power of the PS5. The new haptic feedback really gives a new dimension for this game. It also can run 40fps quality mode in the 120hz mode, which is really amazing! Hope more games will follow that direction! Enjoyed every minute of this game

    I'm not familiar with Ratchet&Clank series but I've had a ton of fun with this one. Visuals are astounding, story is very good and fun. Sometimes the combat seemed a bit repetitive but that's subjective i guess.

    Loved it. As a fan of the series, I waited so long for a good and graphically awesome version. Did not disappoint. Played it twice in a row to get the Plantinum trophy. Could have been a bit longer

    An absolute fun ride. This game is designed and executed so beautifully that you just want to play it over and over again. The DualSense haptics are fantastic. There is no interesting story which is probably the only weakness, but that's its genre. If you want to compare it, you should probably compare it to Crash 4.

    Loved the game. Animation is beautiful , the characters are awesome heroes and bad guys alike, the environments are beautiful throughout . Really liked the use of the dual sense controller as well, especially the gravity boots sections. Highly recommend!

    Really enjoyed the game. Im a big fan since childhood, and this takes me back in. Some of the ps3 games were not that good, and the ps4 game was really bad, but this one really is a master piece. I dont give a 10 because i miss Ratchet personality being more edgy.

    I will keep this review short unlike all my other reviews, ratchet and clank is one of the main reasons you should consider buying a ps5, yes it is quite short, it took me 13 hours to get 100% completion and yes, enemy variety and combat can get pretty repetitive. but the story is solid.     Historia: 9/10 es muy enfocada a los niños, en anteriores ratchet había chistes mas enfocados a los adultos pero en este son pocos.
    Jugabilidad 8/10 aveces es algo molesto tener que dejar presionando triangulo y que se pause la acción.
    Gráficos 10/10 lo pase en el modo fidelidad para aprovechar el 4k y el Ray tracing y se ve muy bien aunque hay zonas que no se si sea necesario.

Equipment, rewards, collectibles, all in proper amounts with actual great benefits to collecting them. (Content-alternating effects like new graphics, as if you collect your actual game). Puzzles are simple yet exciting and not overdone. Weapons are unique, different and skill set or mechanical movement options feel natural despite not being realistic at all. Jump, dash, float, kick, throw hammer, dodge, etc.. all great. Oh, did I mention haptic feedback and triggers are fully incorporated? Yeah. This and surround audio, the immedsion is real. All in all a quality game that nails almost everything. Flying mechanic (with Trudy) could be better and the game length could be a little longer (10-20 more hours would have been perfect). Luckily this is replayable. Worth every penny.… Expand

    What a phenomenal display this was for the ps5. Improvement from the 2016 installment for sure. Some of the best visuals I have ever seen in a game. Just amazing stuff.

But the humorous trip through the galaxy is so much more! First and foremost, it's an incredibly fun and satisfying shooter where I've been thrilled with every new weapon. Yes, Insomniac could have accommodated more hopping passages for my taste, but occasional puzzle sections provide variety.
    And then there would be all the warm and sympathetic characters that I just loved listening to and watching. Also because Ratchet & Clank still exudes the charm of the PS2 era. This childishly silly thing that always puts a smile on your face. By the way, I would recommend you not to sprint through Rift Apart, but to soak up the atmosphere and watch the characters go about their business.

    Finally, I have to lose two or three sentences about the optics (yes, let me): Ratchet & Clank is an unparalleled feast for the eyes. It's almost absurd that I felt like I spent more time admiring the atmosphere and rich graphics than advancing the story. As you can see: I am thrilled and can only warmly recommend the adventure to you.

    I have a very soft spot for the classic Ratchet & Clank games, and my opinions on the remake were a bit mixed. I enjoyed it, but I very much the classic PS2 game and its sequels. But as soon as I saw Rift Apart, I knew it was going to be great, and they delivered. They improved just about everything from the 2016 remake and made a top tier game for the series on a brand new, advanced console that works great with it. Rift Apart could probably be reason enough to get a PS5.

    One criticism that people have had with the newer Ratchet games compared to the classic ones was its departure from darker toned story telling and focusing on a more comedic style. I can't say I share the problem, but when viewed in the spirit of the new reboot series, it works incredibly well! There's nothing wrong with a comedic game so long as it's done well and doesn't take away from stakes at hand, and I think Rift Apart has a good balance of that. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but still maintains a fun and goofy adventure throughout.

    The story is not bad, albeit I usually take issue when it comes to multi-dimensional stories, mostly because they're sloppily told, trying to be too big while not tying enough loose ends. Rift Apart keeps the lore about it small and contained, only enough to serve the purpose the game has, therefore less room to screw the overall lore and worldbuilding. Outside of the dimensional travel, the character story telling is quite nice. While staying small and contained, you get to know Rivet and Kit rather well, and some of the new side characters are fun and give the game a lot more life. The way they tie certain aspects of character backstory together is pretty good and is overall a satisfying story to progress in.

    The biggest problem with the game is the length. It's one of the shortest Ratchet games, but what it was able to put into its small playtime is a lot! There's so much to do and explore, so while there may not be as many planets to visit like in previous games, some of the planets have a little bit more to offer and explore. I can understand why it would be hard to justify a $70 price tag for a shorter game in the series, but aside from all that, I don't have any major issues with the game.

    The controls are also rather good, although sometimes swapping between weapons takes a bit too long. The haptic triggers on the PS5 Dualsense controller add a lot to the feel of the game and almost wish the previous games that this kind of control scheme. The combat is fast paced, fun, and fair, definitely more so than some situations in the classic PS2 games.

    I wouldn't say this is my favorite Ratchet & Clank game, but it was great to experience a brand new story with these two rather than just a retelling. I do hope Insomniac continues the series on the PS5 with some new adventures to come! Definitely a must play for any PS5 owner!    … Expand

    Truly an awesome game with amazing visuals and gameplay my only gripe is its quite but shorter than other ratchet adventures and quite often the same mini bosses come up throughout the game probing they didn't have aslong as they liked to make the game.

    My childhood/teens I grew up on Ratchet & Clank. So will always have a special place in my heart
    of a much loved franchise.

    Rift Apart is a stunning telling of story and adventure with crisp graphics and a
    insane level of high dynamic range.

    Must buy!

    Awesome game! Grew up playing Ratchet and Clank, this one checked off all the boxes and then some. Gameplay and controls are top notch, a highly underrated 3rd person shooter. Graphics and animation look like a Pixar film, just an overall great game. Might be a little short on content, but replaying the game after unlocking all the weapon abilities gives it more replay value than expected.

    It's fun, cute and entertaining in all aspects, whether it be the characters, story and gameplay. Visual colorful and pleasing. The only big issue was that it was too short. The game is a great addition to the franchise.

    This was my first game in PS5 and I started to play with my kids who quickly lost interest because they can't focus on anything complex for more than 5 secs. I ended up craving to move on in the story and going for side quests as well. Made me feel like a 10 yr old again playing similar games like Jak or crash bandicoot. The story is interesting as well as the new characters.     It lacks some of the edgy humor that made the PS2 originals so great, but nonetheless this a fantastic game in the series. Excellent gameplay mechanics and memorable levels and set pieces.

    It is also absolutely stunning, and the most "next-gen" game I have played so far, by a long shot. True showcase of the PS5.

    Very good first experience with the console and with the saga; fun, frantic and easy to master, especially considering the wide variety of weapons that exist, as well as a good story and well-polished graphics. The only problem is the too-recurrent Soft Locks and a bit repetitive even in the final battle.

The characters and world look truly amazing. I've encountered some bugs here and there and the Jump'n'Run mechanics are sometimes a little bit clunky but all in all nothing game breaking.     Great game in my opinion! The graphics are amazing, the core gameplay is great, and the clank levels are amazing! I honestly see nothing wrong with this game! The meh part of the game are the basic fighting sequences. They feel very similar and repetitive at times. I still had a blast playing through this game and is well worth the money!

    Not normally a massive fan of shootery games, let alone on console, yet was enchanted by this rich and colourful game. It feels like playing in the cartoons you watched as a child, no loading screens and just awesomeness all over!

    Nothing worse than a great game ruined by an impossible platforming section (the archives jump). Other than that it’s non stop fun and as of now the only game that truly takes advantage of the PS5 hardware.

    This was the first game I played in the Ratchet and Clank series! A masterpiece from Insomniac Games that for three weeks is adventure, puzzles and lots of action guaranteed. I had the opportunity to max out each weapon while enjoying each of the worlds. It is a must have in the collection of PS5 exclusives.

    It's a realy good game, but it's pretty short and easy. Wich is fine. But this game and Astro are the only 2 exlucive games on the ps5. And I can say the same exact thing about Astro. Short, easy, and fine.

    Fun af, high energy, beautiful graphic and art style, Rift Apart brings something a lot of Devs, and Publishers cant do anymore, and that release a quality game. There are some faults I have with it, but overall this game is simple, and fun.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a great game, combat is fun and visuals are stunning. It played surprisingly well on fidelity mode too which I thought would be unplayable. Story is alright, and just like everyone expected the humor doesn’t hit like it did back in the ps2 days. Seems to almost be an incomplete games at times which I think is just an insomniac thing at this point. Make it just good enough to be considered a great game even though there are some things that could’ve been polished up. Firstly is the platforming, somehow that took a step back, jumping up on various things can almost feel janky at times. There’s also big sections that are defined on the game map that look like they should be secret areas. Instead they are empty and sometimes provide no way to return which can result in having to restart at a checkpoint. This can be seen i think the most on sargasso. Also they still do the thing where if you stray too far outside the world map you just instantly die. I hate that, these are cool alien worlds. Have a monster come out and gobble you up like in older games. It’s just a weird thing that never needed to be changed, I’m guessing it’s just one more thing to animate and they figured people wouldn’t care. Like I mentioned before exploration can be a little unrewarding at times. Also a weird thing I found is the animations can be way off from the actual hit boxes when out exploring areas, not combat I mean like boulders where you start clipping through while trying to climb it, stuff like that. That’s just straight up laziness. This isn’t a very long game, I don’t see why they couldn’t have polished that stuff up, kinda disappointing for a game that’s supposed to be the next big thing and change everything. Anyways still a solid 8 just because I had such a fun time playing it. Definitely recommend it if you have a ps5.… Expand

    * The game is too short. Paying $80 for a game that can be compelted in 10 hours is just meh, combined with that it has little to no replay value as you can unluck everything in your first playthough.
    * Crashes and bugs. I had 3 crashes in my playthrough. Once I got stuck in geometry forcing me to restart. Once I got stuck in a weapon video which forced me to restart, and every now and then the reflections in helmets etc bork out, producing black flickering squares.

    Verdict:

    Definitely a must have for anyone with a PS5. The game is very good, but I had expected more. If you're not a huge fan of the series, you might want to wait until it's on sale, as the value for money is quite low consdering you can pay $50 for games that gives you 50+h worth of playtime.    … Expand

    The gameplay is the same Ratchet and Clank I played on PS4. Harkening back to the days before twin sticks, this is not so much a shooter as a beat’em’up with guns. The weapons have a nice fun factor. Though none of the weapons seem as crazy as the old Sheepinator, I have a lot more of this game to play. The gameplay does not feel as good as a shooter, but then again, no shooter has the fun world traversal of this kind of game. The games story is your basic map traversal, destroying all enemies, and triggering a cut scene. This kind of game was never my thing back in the PS1 and PS2 generations. I was all about shooters and strategy games on PC and Xbox. There is no nostalgia button for me here. I see the limits on gameplay as a limit on how much fun I can have. I have no issue with the humor in this game. I would like to see more of it. I also have no issue with all ages wholesomeness. I could fill this game with more cute animal aliens. I see this game as a launch window title to tide over players until the big games like Horizon and God of War release. For a PS+ Extra subscriber, this is a nice surprise.

    The game has great story but has a few bugs too....and Rift Apart's too much short game.

    Its a game to be enjoyed without stress

It didn’t feel as much tailored for just kids as the 2016 game. Only took me about 10 hours to complete- without going for Platinum. Die Story hat mich persönlich auch als Ratchet and Clank Fan enttäuscht. Ich war anfangs begeistert, dass es nach "Nexus" spielt, aber doch etwas zu lose. Außerdem fehlen Charaktere, die es sogar am Ende nur als Bild in die Credits schaffen. Sehr schade.

I personally encountered a few clipping bugs when around some objects on the first level got caught by a plant and vine/bench when the scenery transformed during a rift change. Some of the platforming wasn't as smooth as I liked. The dragon should have been landable anywhere not just on its nest. The costumes were nice but it's a shame you couldn't choose the perks from them and wear a different costume. I liked the story and characters. The game is short however and finishable within a day The cheat system for collecting all the goodies(bolts/spy bots) makes the final boss trivial. I like the fact that anyone can complete this game and feel nice about it. Due to the minor glitches, a little shorter gameplay than i would have liked, and still no Lombax convention, I have to give it an 8.… Expand

    One of the first real reasons to buy PS5. This intergalactic adventure of famous series is full of great gameplay, inventive game design, gripping story, and great characters. It's a game for everyone who owns PS5. Actually, it’s a game for everyone.

    What’s so good about this installment of Ratchet and Clank is that it is a true labor of love. There is no other way a game can feel so good, play so well, and take you on an impressive adventure all without that special ingredient to keep it going. The definition of a next-gen title, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a must-play that will leave you super satisfied and hungry for another big game like this one.

    The experience is so captivating, you’ll probably want to blast through the entire 10-15 hour story in one go. But the final is really disappointing: basically, the entire game is just a warm-up, while the important events will happen in the next one. [Issue#254, p.36]
