    I don't know how to describe how brilliant this masterpiece truly is! The loading times are gone, the dual sense triggers are fun to play with (especially when shooting enemies) the haptic feedback is awesome the story is just like ratchet and clank should be:funny and not taking itself seriously at all. I would give this 11/10 but I can't awesome game can't wait for the next one

    Truly one of the best games I have ever played in my life. I am a huge fan of good graphics, and this game is one of the best, if not THE best around right now and it is on console! Just crazy to me. I will say that the story is not what carries Rift Apart, albeit well written and enjoyable, the gameplay, graphics, and combat are the true stars of the show. 10/10 in my honest and humbleTruly one of the best games I have ever played in my life. I am a huge fan of good graphics, and this game is one of the best, if not THE best around right now and it is on console! Just crazy to me. I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (10) Outstanding. A truly elite title that is nearly perfect in every way. This score is given out rarely and indicates a game that cannot be missed.

    My first Ratchet and Clank game was the 2018 one. I enjoyed that one just like I enjoyed this one. What stands out to me the most is the gameplay/controls. It’s one of the smoothest feeling games out there which I’ve come to appreciate Insomniac for. There are only a couple other developer teams that are able to pull the smooth feeling off. The second thing that stood out were the graphics and how they were able to load drastically different environments without delay. It took me about 25 hours to beat and if continued to try to unlock and collect everything it would probably take me another 5-10 hours.     Easily the best game in the franchise. The weapon variety is top class. Art direction is great and has so many details in every location. It's obvious that Insomniac focused on making this a fun and entertaining experience. Game is only made even better by the visual options, game looks absolutely stunning on my OLED tv.
    A true must play for anyone who owns or is looking to get a PS5.

    This is such a fun game! The action is so fun and unique. It also displays the ps5 power better than anything out yet. There is just no way to describe how great it looks and feels. I do wish the game was a bit longer, being that it is so darn fun. Best ps5 game out imo

    My game of 2021 personally. It was nice to see ratchet back in full effect. PS3 was the last full blown Ratchet Title with the Masterpiece A Crack in Time. This is the only Ratchet that I can argue is as good as it. That's saying alot as ACIT is one of my all time favourite titles. Also the longest I've taken to beat a Ratchet in the first go, 22 hours before I hit new game plus which isMy game of 2021 personally. It was nice to see ratchet back in full effect. La historia esta graciosa, es entretenida no disgusta. A mi me ha durado casi 10 horas (marca 9 la Playstation pero es un poco más porque sólo registra de hora en hora) y yo soy el típico que va directo en la historia y no se desvía, si exploras y te sales de la historia principal cuando se te dan las opciones el juego seguro se alarga. Mi nota muy merecida es un 10, pocos juegos son tan redondos en todos los apartados.    … Expand

    It was amazing game! Stunning visuals, gameplay was smooth, story was good, many different weapons and styles to fight, good charachters swaps through story. Only what was dissapoint it was pretty short game and was sad when it was over, it should be little longer.

    Easily the best Ratchet game in years. While it doesn't reach it's full potential, it still manages to introduce so many fresh ideas to the franchise that make older games feel so much more outdated. I haven't had this much fun with any other games since BOTW.

    I love the immersive environments you can just observe it all in great wonder there is always a lot of things going on all around you in the environment locations that the game never gets boring, so many interesting npcs or just things in the background like flying vehicles and big structures.

    I love the alternate dimensions they are so interesting part of the game and the whole different alternate realities how the locations are alternate from each other. I won't say anymore to avoid spoilers.

    Its the perfect video game and it has literally EVERYTHING that makes a great video game which is rare especially today. Rift Apart is a game i will love to replay again and again and never get bored of it. Its a perfect score game for me.    … Expand

    I've played all the Ratchet and Clank games from PS2 to PC (with the last one) and this one is just amazing: The gameplay is dynamic, the characters and their stories are brought to the fore.
    The references to the Ratchet and Clank universe are very well elaborated, which allows us to enjoy the game with a little nostalgia without abusing it.

    Only downside, too simple even in legendary difficulty. Afterwards I understand that it is designed to reach all audiences but a little difficulty for the challenge it would have been cool, I'm not asking to have a dark soul like either.

    Absolutely loved the game. Insomniac's games have sometimes been a bit hit or miss for me but Rift Apart is fantastic in almost every way. Excellent characters with a good storyline and gameplay.

    The only slight miss were those puzzle levels with Clank. I get that they wanted to break up the gameplay a bit but I wasn't feeling it.

That's all the stuff that's been advertised since this game was first mentioned and its the thing that sticks out while playing it.
    What those ads dont do is tell you about much else, outside of being able to play as Rivet, Ratchets female counterpart from another dimension. While the story is a fairly by the books plotline, Rivet really steals the show here. Her motivations and character development feel very realistic and Jennifer Hale does an outstanding job really showing her quirks and how she functions. She's easily the best part of the game and the game knows it. She gets alot of screen time, almost to the point where Ratchet himself is kinda pushed to the side. I dont blame them for doing so as she's a great character and I expect to see alot of her in upcoming games, maybe even getting a spin off on her own someday. Gameplay-wise there's not much new here. It's typical R&C style 3rd person over the shoulder shooter combat with not much added to it. Its fun but they clearly didnt do much to change anything up. While the weapons can be fun to use, it just feels like its going through the motions here. Nothing too memorable but its entertaining to use them.
    For the first brand new, non-remake style game since the PS3, R&C is clearly going to be the PS5's best showcase as to a reason to buy the console. I wouldnt call it a system seller myself, but that's hardly a problem with how hard it still is to find one. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to show case to their friends or family as to the biggest increase from the previous generation of consoles. Plus its still a very fun game to play. It's also a very easy game to get the Platinum trophy for, running me maybe 15 hours total to 100% it for anyone who cares about that stuff.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a solid entry in the ratchet and clank franchise and easily deserving of its scores from critics and gamers alike. It's not often you see such high praises from the user scores opposed to the critics. It falls on the short side for length with a far to easy platinum that can be achieved in just one playthrough. The graphics are possibly the best to date with in game Pixar like quality. The story is told well and in true ratchet and clank style gives you some freedom to travel to planets in differing orders. Rivet is a great new protagonist and really steals the show in this game. Which surprisingly is fine. Insomniac really did an amazing job at introducing the character. Rivets voice acting was extremely well done and shined brighter than ratchets newly found tame undertones In his writing and range. Some very minor glitches are to be found. More than a typical Sony exclusive which Im sure will be fixed in future updates. Overall an amazing game… Expand

    Ratchet and Clank is finally back! This is on par the great classics of PS2 years. Graphics are great but what is most important here is the gameplay and this delivers! This is a must buy! 9/10 (loses 1 point for some minor but anoying bugs which undoubtedly will be fixed promptly)

    Best PS5 game to date from a technical perspective. Very well crafted from all perspectives. Gameplaywise very much like the first game (which I guess is to be expected). If you like the first game this is a solid buy. Great for kids, my 5 yr old loves this game. Solid 9 if you ask me, i have fun playing too.

    This gme is pure amazingness from start to finish… youll be going back and for the playing as ratchet and rivet, but everything the other collects is shared… youll be going through these beautiful levels, getting awesome new traversal skills, beating up bad guys, taking their nuts and bolts, using thm to buy weapons and like 2016’s each weapon here feels like its own character for you to master, as while youre using them, theyre leveling up, giving you new abilities to unlock and make that weapon better… I wasn’t in love with the weapon selection here, but they did their job and by the end of the game youll feel untouchable… ratchet and rivet play and feel exactly the same.. but what doesn’t feel the same is how it feels to actual play this interactive pixar movie.. th dualsense really brings this world to life, and the seemless transitions through rifts and levels.. this game never loads… never.. the action never stops… keeping you immersed waiting to see hats around the next corner… my only real issue with rift apart though is its level variety… the levels here aren’t memorable at all, theyre all actually pretty generic.. you would thing a game all about alternate dimensions, they would really have some fun here mixing things up and letting you see something you’ve never seen before… but especially compared to 2016’s ratchet and clank.. the levels while all fun to complete at get through, and find their secrets.. e…are pretty bland.. and also not much in general is done with the rift jumping.. like I said no cool areas, and even in game I feel he rift jumping kind of ats as a grappling hook that sometimes is in battles, where you can instantly pull yourself to a platform.. and most times theyre nowhere to be seen.. other than that ratchet and clank rift apart is pure joy, this is again a pixar movie come to life… the dualsense and processing power of the ps5 will blow your mind here and the gameplay and story will have you smiling the whole way through…Rift Apart is a must own.

    I have had a hard time getting into video games recently. Im not sure what it is, but its been difficult to want to pick up the controller and play. But I recently got a ps5 and while I normally don't play platform type games ( I prefer single player story driven games like LOU and God of war and such ) I love this game just a few hours in. And it actually feels like a next gen game.

Even the writing seems more like the original PS2 games, although not by too much. But it's also still welcoming. Overall a great game and highly recommended for all PS5 Owners. It's worth buying a PS5 for this. And it is even worth robbing PS5 scalpers if it means you can play this game! If nothing else, it is a very welcoming improvement for the series.… Expand

    Very good game, my only criticism is it was a little on the short side, even to achieve the platinum trophy only took around 20 hours ish, but don’t get me wrong it was a fantastic game and my kids absolutely loved it, would have easily gave it a 10/10 if it was a little longer, but decided to give it a 9

    If you've played any previous Ratchet and Clank game before, you'll feel at home with this one. This is a story based 3rd person shooter with platforming elements and great characters. Crazy gadgets and weapons have always been what    Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a joyful new game in the series, taking advantage of the PS5's SSD to deliver some new things that couldn't be done on PS4.

    If you've played any previous Ratchet and Clank game before, you'll feel at home with this one. This is a story based 3rd person shooter with platforming elements and great characters. Crazy gadgets and weapons have always been what makes this series' gameplay stand out. Previous games have featured sandbox-style open levels but this new game offers a couple of levels that are quite large maps, almost open worlds on their own complete with side quests and NPCs. They are so big in fact that you are given rocket boots to travel faster than by feet, as if driving a vehicle.

    Shooting enemies is the main activity but there are also other things to do. First there are the dimensional puzzles of Clank. Then there are the twin stick shooter levels with Glitch where you clean up viruses in computers. There are a few racing sequences with the speed bug (not races to win a trophy, but just races to escape). And you can find many dimensional bubbles, or rather mini levels, to explore for bonuses.

    No other game out there delivers this experience of instantaneous dimension hopping as well as this game does, thanks to the ultra fast SSD. There is also a sequence far into the game with the giant robot seen in the trailers that couldn't possibly be done on PS4 in a real-time in-engine cutscene. Instead on PS5 this sequence is rendered in real-time and playable, even though it's on-rails and scripted, but so much is happening that PS4 could only playback an FMV video of it.

    Insomniac Games again deliver an outstanding amount of choice when it comes to graphics and frame rate. Similar to what they've done with Spiderman Remastered and Miles Morales, you can choose between a Quality mode (dynamic 4K30 with Ray Tracing reflections), a Performance mode (dynamic 4K60 without RT) and a Performance RT mode (dynamic 1080p60 with Ray Tracing reflections). Personally I always play these games on Performance RT mode because it offers the best of both worlds (60 fps and RT). Recently the developers patched a new 120Hz mode that allows you to play the game with lower latency at 60 fps for the Performance Modes (with and without Ray Tracing) and a 40 fps option when selecting the (normally 30 fps) Fidelity Mode at 4K resolution.

    The star of the show is the Dualsense controller. The haptics ain't as good as those of Astro's Playroom (a game literally designed around the Dualsense), but the adaptive triggers basically act as 2 buttons each. Most of the weapons provide 2 modes, like press the trigger halfway for a single shot or press it fully to switch to continuous fire. Input latency is also low. The 3D Audio effect is pretty neat, too, especially with headphones.

    The story isn't anything sophisticated. Just like previous games, it's merely an excuse to zap enemy robots with exotic weaponry. But the concept of the dimension hopping is well-realized by centering the plot around the dimensionator weapon shown in the trailers. You've probably heard it already, so here it is. With dimension hopping you get to meet alternate versions of the established characters. Rivet is a good new character, but she replaces Ratchet as lead character for most of the game's duration.

    One little complaint that I have about this game is the bugs. The game doesn't crash, nor is my character launched into space. Some times when speeding up with the rocket boots through a level I get stack as if I was hitting an invisible wall when it shouldn't happen, easily solved with a simple jump. Other times I have encountered mission progression bugs (mostly on Clank's dimension puzzle levels when swapping spheres), which is easily fixed with a checkpoint restart. Last but not least, although this game has plenty of quality, I wish it had a bit more content or a lower price. At $70/80 Euros this game costs a bit too much money.

    Overall Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a technical showcase for the PS5. Developers Insomniac Games are easily my favorite Sony studio after releasing multiple quality games within 3 years (Spiderman, Spiderman Remastered, Miles Morales, now Rift Apart). Can't wait for their next game.    … Expand

Rivet the new character is charming and i would love to play her new standalone game. The story is quite weak but still an enjoyable one insomniac did an amazing job on this one highly recommend if you have a PS5.

    Some people moan about the length of this game - as an adult with not much time I found the length fine. Took me about 15-20 hours on hard difficulty with mass exploration.
    This is a beautiful game that runs very nicely and shows you just how much the ps5 can do.

    Simply amazing, the show case of the PS5 in time/space travel shows how much gaming have come along and how tech wonders started kicking in even for consoles. From gameplay to story, character to nartive and upgrade sytsem, weapons its alltogether a very enjoyable game. one of the best R&Cs without a doubt.

    On the side, there is also this great control over trophies and it's not that super hard to gather them all.     One of the first real reasons to buy PS5. This intergalactic adventure of famous series is full of great gameplay, inventive game design, gripping story, and great characters. It's a game for everyone who owns PS5. Actually, it’s a game for everyone.

    What’s so good about this installment of Ratchet and Clank is that it is a true labor of love. There is no other way a game can feel so good, play so well, and take you on an impressive adventure all without that special ingredient to keep it going. The definition of a next-gen title, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a must-play that will leave you super satisfied and hungry for another big game like this one.
