    One of the best games I have ever played. Don't take seriously the people that are review bombing this authentic masterpiece. Take everything god of HZD and polish it, then you habe this game. Story, gameplay, graphiscs, everuthing is great.

    Absolutely phenomenal game. This is what all triple A titles should and could be. The level of detail in the world, the music, the characters, story and gameplay is just incredible. A true next generation experience.

    Horizon Forbidden West is a great sequel, it improves on every aspect of the first one and it adds new and welcome gameplay features. Visually the game is beautiful, Gorilla created a massive and breathtaking world that it's only held back by some noticeable popping in certain scenes plus the occasional bug, yes the game is buggy , but nothing game breaking.
    In conclusion, this is a    Horizon Forbidden West is a great sequel, it improves on every aspect of the first one and it adds new and welcome gameplay features. Meanwhile there's a plague spreading all over the land, so Aloy must find a way to stop it with a copy of Gaia but ir won't be easy to find. Graphics on PS4 are awesome.     Amazing game, I love the new additions that keep everything fresh but it still has the same feel as the first game. Aloy is a great protagonist, I hope to see more from her and the franchise in the future.

    The open world is more interesting than in Zero Dawn, like new cutscenes even for small sidequests. Better in all aspects than Zero Dawn

    I have enjoyed every minute of the game so far. New challengeals, enemies and more!
    Exploring old day hotels etc which are now ruins and seeing all thr "old" technology is great. Guerilla Games has delivered on a worthy sequel and I look forward to another play through.

    I've rarely seen such a good sequel. Everything has been improved here that has already distinguished the 1st part. I really liked the story and there is no need to waste any more words on this graphic, especially on the Playstation 5. An incredibly good game.

    Horizon Forbidden West improves upon 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn in pretty much every way:
    - The graphics are state of the art.

    - The world feels alive, is more vibrant, more vertical, denser, and packed with many things to discover. Although if you just want to play it for the story, you can. The game allows you to play as little or as much as you want.

    - There is a lot of dynamic music, which makes the soundtrack fit any situation you find yourself in. I really appreciate stuff like this in games.

    - Traversal is much more open and diverse, with special gear allowing you to explore land, air, and underwater.

    - Animations are a meteoric leap in quality compared to Zero Dawn (facial animations especially).

    - Progression and customisation are much more meaningful, with many skill trees, perks, weapons, and more to choose from. Many new weapon types are added, and new additions "Valour Surges" and "Weapon Skills" provide even more choice in how you want to proceed in battle.

    - Side quests are significantly better, with most feeling-like main quests.

    - UI is streamlined, and many QoL features are added. Some favourites of mine are the addition of a Quick Scan for your Focus, allowing you to detect points of interest instantly without needing to slow down the gameplay with a Precise Scan from the Focus, and the addition of a Stash. The Stash collects all excess materials gained during gameplay, making the tedious inventory management in Zero Dawn a thing of the past. All you do now is click the "Restock" button when you access a Stash and you're ready to go!

    There are certain aspects that could use some improvement however:
    - Although traversal is significantly better and you can climb many many more things compared to Zero Dawn, do not expect freedom on the level of Breath of the Wild. You are still relegated to specific points to climb. Because of this, you will be using R3 a lot to see what you can and cannot climb. It's a bit of a weird middle ground and I do hope that in maybe a 3rd game, Guirella can come up with a climbing system that does provide the level of freedom Breath of the Wild has, without making Aloy look like Spider-Man with her sticking to any and every surface.

    - Melee combat is also significantly better compared to Zero Dawn, with a bunch of new combos added...but it's still not great to be honest. It requires a lot of investment in your build to make it viable against machines, and it still feels quite floaty. There are Weapon Skills and Valour Surges that augment melee, but you will be sticking to ranged combat most of the time, especially on harder difficulties were enemies are strong enough to one or two shot you.

    - Performance Mode could be better. Although it provides a locked 60fps (which is awesome), there is a noticeable drop in fidelity, with more shimmering, and pop-in present. This will be better or worse for you depending on the resolution and how big your display is. I personally find 30fps atrocious to play on, so I just deal with it. If you want a fully uncompromised experience, then the inevitable future PC port will provide that. With all, the game still looks amazing on Performance Mode.

    One thing I will have to mention is that the game is noticeably buggier compared to Zero Dawn. It's no Cyberpunk 2077 at launch, but I did encounter some minor traversal glitches, some graphical glitches, and at one point, a memory leak that made the game drop from 60fps to 30fps with frame skipping. This was easily fixed by resetting the game. Guirella are evidently on top of this by releasing patches and hotfixes quickly to further polish the game.

    Story wise, the game expects you to know the story and lore of Horizon Zero Dawn and its Frozen Wilds DLC from the onset of Forbidden West. It has been 5 years since Zero Dawn released, so if you don't remember crucial things from that game then I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend either watching a recap or playing the game before playing Forbidden West. If you do not, then I guarantee that you will be lost from the jump. There is a short recap at the start of Forbidden West but it's not good enough frankly.

    In conclusion. Horizon Forbidden West is awesome. If you enjoyed Zero Dawn, then I don't see why you won't love this game. Even if you didn't enjoy Zero Dawn that much, I still recommend trying this game out when you have the chance. Its numerous upgrades will most likely provide a much better experience for you.    … Expand

    I would give this game a 9.5 if were an option. Typical open world down sides although the Devs have tried to improve this in all areas...A big step up in all areas vs the first game. A true graphical showpiece for the PS5. Some graphical bugs to clean up in future patches

    Vastly improved over the previous game. High level of attention to details, cutscenes all play out like two people actually conversing in an alive world. Improved melee, tons more outfit/weapon/skill tree customization. My GOTY

    One of the best games I've been able to complete, the first one I platinum and I loved it, but in this installment they improved everything 100%. The world, exploration, combat, everything feels so well done that it's a pleasure to play, graphically it is absolutely spectacular, even on PS4 consoles.

    Certainly one of the candidates for the GOTY.

    The Soundtrack, the gameplay, the variety of enemies, strats to defeat them, the secondary missios.. everything is great.

    If you own a Play Station, don't think twice, Horizon is a must-Play

I have logged in a solid 20hour in this game tearing into Machines, Collecting Berries, Diving into Sunken caves, walking through and marveling the rich lush world of Horizon; and I have just made it to the Forbidden West. My rating is a 9.5 but I don’t mind rounding up. 1. The Side quest are so good I’ve essentially been looking for them instead of playing the main story and what’s great about them is they seamlessly guide back to the main story! Not the first game to do it but it’s well done here. 2. The machines are absolutely well done! The AI for their behavior is quite interesting, they have strategies in their approach, they also have self preservation behavior when they are on the brink of elimination.

    3. At first the combat seemed a bit clunky, but once you get a hang of the combat, the fluidity is impeccable, the amount of possibilities in how you take down enemies. 4. The Story so far is a much more mature take on the first one, very political, and the attention to tribe culture and their interactions with the world and one another is so well crafted so far.

    5. The Sounds of Horizon is really one of the secret sauce of this game in my opinion. the way the songs will get more upbeat as you are in the thick of battle, the way it becomes a backdrop when you’re just exploring, the choice of Instruments for each major part of the game tells a story of deep folklore and Story.

    6. I don’t need to say much about the graphics, I’ve spent some time in photo mode and go see it for yourself. Oh and the fun of playing board games and practice your combos in melee pits is such a great addition to the game! The game has a few bugs here and there but nothing game breaking, just bit immersion breaking but it’s very short lived.    … Expand

    This game is just short of a MasterClass. The only issue I’ve had so far is that sometimes the climbing and platforming can feel a bit clunky. Otherwise this game is just perfection, the new fighting mechanics are insanely fun and the visuals are superb . Well done guerilla, you guys really nailed this.

    The graphics are AMAZING! The combat feels very clean and more intense, a big leap from the first game (horizon zero dawn). The characters interaction is some of the best iv experienced in a Open world RPG. This game is well worth the hype.

    I was there day 1 for the first game because the robot dinosaurs looked great and now I'm here because there was a lot more than just that in Zero Dawn. Forbidden West brings a lot more on top of what I already loved in the first game, I don't see how I couldn't give it anything else besides a 10.

    As mecânicas estão melhores em relação ao jogo anterior, história está mais emocionante e os gráficos estão simplesmente lindo. A água e a vegetação está ANIMAL! Amei os novos inimigos, principalmente aquela cobra gigante. Guerrilha fazendo jus há perfeição!

    The only complaint i have with the game is the movement is very arkward. I was shocked at the detail & expressions on NPC faces, ive never seen anything like it, at times faces look real, the story has a way of engaging you with its twists just when you start to get tired of playing, you are excited to see the outcome. I really didnt like Horizon zero dawn much it was an OK game to me but this,this Forbidden West is one of the best games i havent even completed yet    … Expand

    Major improvement over Zero Dawn. Combat is more satisfying, skill trees are more robust and allow different play styles, shieldwing is a game changer. Animations are resolved now, side quests are more fun and rewarding. 10/10!

    Such a beautiful and fun game. Story is put together well and side missions bring life to the game. In resolution mode I did experience frame rate drops that caused serious gameplay issues. Performance mode is possibly one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had. Aloy is such a joy to take control of and is an amazing character.

The story and journey itself is immersive and beyond captivating, and the one critique I had about Zero Dawn, the dialogue and awkwardness/computer-like tone of theHorizon Forbidden Dawn is a visual masterpiece with excellent mechanics that take all of the best features and gameplay that made its predecessor a PlayStation exclusive phenomenon, and builds on them with great finesse. The story and journey itself is immersive and beyond captivating, and the one critique I had about Zero Dawn, the dialogue and awkwardness/computer-like tone of the characters when conversing seems to have been noticed by the developers and has been improved substantially as well. Although Zero Dawn had very few negative aspects, the creators of Forbidden West clearly paid very close attention to each and every critique to the first installment in the series, even those of the most minimal importance, and has put extensive work into improving every single thing in this game. A minor thing I noticed earlier while playing that I have never experienced in a video game apart from when the character you are controlling runs into an NPC and knocks them over is that an NPC I observed walking down the street tripped on their own accord without Aloy or anyone else near them, just out of their own clumsiness I initially thought. After stumbling and tripping slightly, the NPC then turned around and kicked what seemed to be the little rock that they had tripped over in frustration, then turned around and continued their walk. Little nuances like this show the absolute immensity of the production’s attention to detail and their desire to make the game as similar to human reality as possible, the only difference being that HFW is set in the future after technology has reached an extent far beyond where we were currently are in our reality in 2022 and the world has been taken over so to say by these advanced machines. The graphics are beyond stunning, and I can honestly say this may very well be the most beautiful video game ever created at this point in time. Although it is also available for PS4 and I’m sure the graphics are still stunning on that console (I played HZD on PS4 and it was still absolutely incredible), this game takes a leap display wise on the next-generation hardware. Standing on a hill, watching the sky turn an orangish-pink as the sun begins its descent across the horizon (no pun intended, and both hearing and watching the wind blow and witnessing each blade of grass and all of the trees and its leaves sway at the mercy of the air flow, it’s quite the view. This game is a must-have. The combat and experience itself is just as awesome as Zero Dawn, just slightly enhanced. It’s hard to improve the numerous features and mechanics that were already near perfect from the first game, but they definitely did their best to and succeeded, along with greatly succeeding in polishing any of the points that were viewed with critique and negatively from Zero Dawn. 10/10. Game of the Year nominee, and I dare say hands down winner, in my opinion. Join us and Aloy on a journey to the Forbidden West!… Expand

    Horizon has enchanted me again. After a slow start, a graphically beautiful, sophisticated sequel comes, polished in every aspect, and underscored by a great soundtrack on top of that. The sequel was simply a success. Everything that worked before works even slightly better now. [Issue#317]

    Horizon Forbidden West is Guerrilla's best game to date, taking Aloy to new heights with a blockbuster release that meets the high standards set by PlayStation in recent years. While it's totally worth fans jumping in on day one, it's perhaps better to wait a few weeks until all the bugs are ironed out.

    Horizon Forbidden West is exactly what everyone thought it would be: an amazing game. It has an open world with plenty of things to do and places to explore, fights against some really well-developed machines and stunning visuals. The feeling is that the second game of the series improves on what was already great, and it feels rewarding and fun to play. It is another single-player masterpiece from Sony.
